Grand Cayman Travel Guide

"A large resort notable for having the island's biggest pool and sitting on the longest continuous stretch of white sand along Seven Mile Beach; guests can access extensive wellness programming and innovative, fish-forward dining such as a dedicated sushi, ceviche, and poke venue that emphasizes super-fresh seafood and communal dining." - Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila is a bilingual travel writer, editor, and content marketer. The 11 Best Hotels and Resorts in the Cayman Islands to Book - AFAR

"Guests can alternate between lounging at the largest freshwater pool in the Cayman Islands and stepping straight onto Seven Mile Beach from the lobby. The property underwent a major renovation in 2017 and now offers 343 updated rooms featuring nautical navy carpeting, oversized abstract artwork, and sleek modern bathrooms. On-site dining ranges from a standard buffet breakfast at Ferdinand’s (waffles, bacon, pastries) to beachfront standouts like lamb chops and crab cakes at Beach House and sushi and ceviche at woto, the resort’s Asian restaurant." - Mariette Williams

"Updated in 2017, the rooms and public areas in this attractive, airy resort have an island-themed decor. Rooms now come equipped with marble bathroom vanities, Smart LED Samsung televisions, and Starbucks Coffee. But the star attraction remains a prime, crowd-free position on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach, famous for clear water and powder-fine white sand. Resort sun loungers are spread far apart to give guests a sense of privacy. A day camp with fun activities and a healthy meals program for kids (ages 4-to-12) means parents get guiltless downtime (or scuba diving and other water sports). Shopping and alternative dining are within walking distance."

Absolutely perfect birthday stay in paradise!!! The Westin Grand Cayman never disappoints and the staff is nothing less than exceptional. The beaches are well maintained and chairs are always clean and umbrellas welcome you to take a quick afternoon snooze. Every meal was great with no compromise on quality. The front desk attendants were amazing and got us to our rooms with no delay. The concierge connected us to a wonderful horseback excursion that was truly a one of a kind experience(highly recommend). While relaxing on the beach, we had 2 amazing attendants Georgie and Tinnika. Even though we kept them running back and forth, every time they came by, they were the shining example of exemplary Marriot service we've become spoiled with. By the way, this was our 5 stay here and thank you again Westin Grand Cayman staff for nothing short of an amazing visit to paradise.

Our trip in the Grand Cayman was incredible! The island is stunning and the seven mile beach is as beautiful as everyone says. The staff at the Westin was warm and welcoming, and the food either in the hotel or outside the hotel was fresh and delicious. Everything felt safe, clean, and easy to get around. We recommend the restaurant Seven at the Ritz as it is within walking distance from the Westin and the food and service is top notch. We left with full hearts and can't wait to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for sun, relaxation, and clear blue water.

This resort is one of the best, if not the best on 7 Mile Beach. We have stayed here a couple of times and it just seems to get better. The best beach, pool and layout. Private gazebos, top notch service on the beach and all around. The spa was very nice and very reasonable with steam showers and saunas for all guests. The beds are so comfortable as well as the pillows. There is not much more to stay. ||A few call outs - Tyrese on the beach with Leonard - both rock stars. The person running the food and beverage for this resort has done a great job - the people and the food were perfect with lots of choices. You can tell they love what they do!||We will be back.

This is my mine and my husband’s 7th return to The Westin Cayman Seven Mile Beach and plan to keep returning. This resort is stunning and has the most beautiful beach. We love the staff they are all very friendly, personable and very accommodating. Shout out to all the bartenders. Special shout out to Mike and Danny for taking special care of us all week. We also had a super sweet and funny beach ambassador Georgie he always shows an upbeat personality and will put a smile on your face. Tortuga beach bar food and drinks are exceptional highly recommend the fish tacos, beach burger, pizza, mixed green salad and the chicken tenders. Can’t wait for our return in 2026!

My name is Danilo Aleman, and we have felt very good on our third visit to the Westin Grand Cayman view hotel, I really thought that the room that was on that side or that I had reserved better said for being the platinum member, I do not think it has so many rights, nor that the room is good enough to be a room with status as it has been Latino I do not see that it is a superior room or a Master or a suite and supposedly they gave me the best room I really see it the same as everyone else Attention from the cleaning team is very good what has an extreme cleanliness the food is not that variable but we ate at a restaurant called Beach House and in that restaurant I do recommend it to everyone for breakfast Attention was great and what is the breakfast Lunch seems very good to me really the Attention what is about the room as such is not what I expected without more I leave it to your selection I have no complaints about the hotel staff, but the room is not what I expected and I had to call three times for the air conditioning. It is very hot and, for me, it is not the room I expected.

Wonderful hotel with EXTRAORDINARY staff! Although my friend and I weren't staying at The Westin, we were there every day of our vacation, often more than once a day, enjoying their spa, coffee shop/ cafe, live music & bar areas. Every single staff member we encountered was polite, friendly & helpful, but a few people went above & beyond, recognizing us from when we visited a year ago & making us feel like we were "home" visiting friends & family, not simply resort guests being given great customer service, although they certainly give that too! Rod is a FANTASTIC bartender (we personally enjoyed espresso martinis, chocolate martinis, mudslides, a vodka cranberry & a happy hour lemonade that is now my friend's favorite drink ever), but he's also just a great guy! He remembered us from last year, gave us great recommendations of things to do & see during our trip, & we had fun watching him make different drinks. But more than any of that, he is really kind, fun, funny, & we simply enjoyed talking with him as we sat at the bar having drinks & listening to the live music on several different occasions. And then Gaynor, Simone & Marcia at the Hibiscus Spa are AMAZING! As we were checking in, Gaynor remembered my friend from last year, & since we were there early & no other guests were there yet, we enjoyed a few minutes of catching up & meeting Simone, who was my friend's massage therapist that day. Both she & Gaynor were such a joy to talk to! My massage therapist was a kind woman named Marcia who has a true gift & technique that made for the most relaxing massage I have ever had, & her sweet, care-taking personality was truly delightful. There were so many others there who were wonderful... Thomas, Penny, Shuva (hope I have his name/ spelling correct) and others whose names we didn't get, but were all terrific. Thank you to each of you for everything. 5 stars honestly aren't enough.

We were excited to book this property and splurged on one of their highest value rooms. However, shortly before our trip, the room was downgraded without our permission and they tried to gaslight us into thinking it was an upgrade. They gave a lackluster excuse blaming Marriott’s faulty system for the change, which even if true should've been caught weeks, not days, prior. The hotel refused to give a true upgrade or offer any perks at all as a customer service initiative given that we were put in a bad position due to their glitches. Also as Bonvoy members who had booked directly, not some randoms who got the wholesale rate on a discount site or something, there should've been a different protocol. The rep seemed to perhaps be green and to not understand or not care about how hospitality brands build longevity through customer loyalty. We have patronized Marriott for years, but this was such a disappointing experience that we will reconsider other properties on future trips worldwide. No true apology, breakfast or drink perks, room comp or upgrade, discount, or anything was offered for their mistake which caused undue stress for a trip that had been planned well prior in order to relieve stress. We did get to see the Westin briefly for a meeting, and it seems to be the place if you have a rowdier bunch; still looked fun and the beach is magnificent, but the GM should make improvements to staff training and on-site (man made) facilities if the goal is to retain and grow. The service staff is probably decent since tips are factored in, so this review is about the reservations/rooms side and being treated as valued guests, which another more expensive hotel that we had to scramble and shift to understood immensely and saved our trip. They may have seen it as just losing several thousands of dollars and one guest, but that loss will be compounded over time due to word of mouth and future personal and professional booking decisions.

my husband and I got married here 11 years ago and just returned for a family vacation with our daughter. It was such a wonderful trip! The location and property are beautiful, rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service was fantastic! In particular server Shawn on the beach and pool area and Marie at the hibiscus spa were next level. We can’t wait to return!
