This was our third stay at the property and our first time in a two-bedroom suite. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained with no real issues, except for a strange omission: the in-room coffee machines don’t come with coffee filters, and the pre-filtered coffee they provide isn’t very good. Small detail, but noticeable over a five-night stay. We spent time at both the owners pool and the bar pool when the weather cooperated. Pool bar pricing was reasonable for a resort. We ate on site for steak night — the steak was solid, but the salmon was excellent. Large portions, good buffet selection, and a nice ambiance. Downtown San José del Cabo is a quick Uber ride and very charming, though pricey, and the food didn’t quite justify the cost compared to other parts of Mexico. We also took a day trip to La Paz (about two hours) which was well worth it and remains one of our favorite spots. Service was excellent throughout the stay, including a nice welcome beer on arrival. The resort itself is beautiful. While we probably won’t return to the Los Cabos area due to overall cost, I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone who enjoys the region.

Beautiful hotel and views! Staff were amazing and food was good. Only negative is I asked for a 1 hour late check out and there was no willingness to accommodate. I feel that when you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on both Marriott vacation clubs and Bonvoy there should be just a small amount of customer service.

We had an amazing stay at The Westin Los Cabos Resort! The property is absolutely stunning, the views of the ocean and surrounding cliffs are breathtaking from every angle. The 2-bedroom villas were spacious, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun. The staff were wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The food was delicious with plenty of variety, and we especially enjoyed the restaurants overlooking the water. The infinity pools are large and perfectly positioned to take in those incredible ocean views, definitely one of the highlights of the resort. The only disappointment was not being able to swim or relax in the ocean due to the strong currents, but the pools more than made up for it. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience, and we’d happily return!

READ THIS REVIEW! AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU CAN. We have been Marriott/Starwood members for almost 30 years and we have never been so disappointed in one of their hotels. The photos look great, but reality is a different story.|1. AFTER we had made all our plans, including with other family members, Marriott informed us they would be working around the pool. Jack-hammers, cement mixers, stone saws -- all day long, 7 days a week. So much for relaxation.|2. "OCEAN VIEW" may not mean Ocean View. Despite our "ocean view" reservation, we were put in a ground floor room with a view of a mound of dirt and grass. You had to stand at the window to get a PARTIAL glimpse of the ocean. When we complained, they said they couldn't move us. Moreover, they said "Marriott Corporate" knew that many so-called ocean views were actually "partial views," but wouldn't change the labeling. And Corporate forbade them from offering a discount or any compensation to address this issue of misleading advertising. If you are going to stay at this hotel, insist on seeing the photos of your room's view before you go. They have photos of each room's view and many are obviously "partial ocean view" or "no view."|3. BEDBUGS! All four of us were bitten by BEDBUGS! Not a couple, but dozens of bites. Only later did we see other reviews complaining of the same thing.|4. We were to have an ocean view AND a balcony. The so-called balcony was actually a small patio on the ground.|5. Note: you cannot swim in the ocean at this hotel.|6. The pictures of the hotel are very nice, but the layout is not convenient. You can find yourself going down wrong paths and walks quite easily. They also don't show you that in most (all?) 2-bedroom villas, there are NO windows in the second bedroom. It's like being in a cave.||The only reason we're giving two stars is because the staff is uniformly friendly. I don't blame them, I blame Marriott. The corporate heads better give this hotel some attention. As for us, we will not be returning.

The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas is a very nice resort located between San Jose and downtown Cabo. The property is very spacious and has amazing ocean views. This was our first trip to Cabo, and we really enjoyed the resort and visiting both downtown areas. The resort is about 25-minutes from downtown Cabo and San Jose, so if you don't have a rental car, you can easily grab an Uber. Below a list of pros and cons of the Resort:||Pros |- The resort is very well maintained, however there was some construction projects going on during the day. They did not interfere with our enjoyment of the adult pool area.|- The staff are incredibly accommodating and took great care of us. From David who made sure we had everything we needed at the pool, to Alicia and Sebastian who ran the various events and were both my Pickleball partners through the week.|- The 2-bedroom villa we had was spacious, modern, and well appointed. Plenty of hot water in the showers, and the master has its own balcony, plus one in the family room.|Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the property, and there is a nice business center if needed.|- We rented a car, and the valet had it ready every time we had called down to head out (I found driving in the area to be very easy, it's a straight shot to downtown Cabo where we visited about 5-times for different activities).|- The restaurants all share the same overall menu which has a good variety of choices, which was fine for us since we went out to dinner several nights.|- There is a market which is well stocked, and we visited the local supermarket Fresko to stock-up when we arrived.|- In the evening the resort is pretty quiet, but we enjoyed watching the World Series at the sports bar, where they also have a few pool and foosball tables.|- My wife enjoyed 2 spa visits with Maria who she said did an excellent job both times. |- For pickleball they have sessions every morning at 9:00 AM with a tournament on Thursday mornings. They provide paddles if you don't have one.|- The staff runs pool activities each day like bingo, Blackjack tournaments, water aerobics, tequila tastings, etc.|- Unlike other Marriott resorts we've stayed at, we never had an issue getting prime seating around the pool area, even though we came down most mornings around 9:30 AM. There are also a whole set of beach chairs on the beach if you prefer that.||Cons||- The resort is quite large, and navigating from the lobby to your room can be a decent walk and a bit confusing. There are ramps in certain areas, but this was an on-going discussion with other guests.|- While there is a nice beach, due to the risk of rip tides, you must sign a waiver if you want to swim in the ocean. You'll want to pick your time carefully, since the waves come crashing in very strongly at times, and there are rock outcroppings you will want to give a wide berth to.||Travel Tip - I typically get local currency from an ATM when traveling. I noticed the service fees at most ATM's were quite high, ranging from $10 - $100 USD depending on how many Pesos you wanted. On our next visit I would request the local currency from our bank since you can always use any leftover Pesos to offset your hotel incidentals when you check-out.||We would certainly visit again, and the end of October had perfect weather all week with no rain and minimal cloud cover.

We paid for an ocean view room. Our view is of a side of a condominium. We couldn’t sit on the patio because of mosquitos. We asked to be moved and were told they were sold out when it appears the hotel is at about 30% capacity. We must not be high enough members of bonvoy. Happy Thanksgiving Marriott. For reference we are in the 7th floor which is a walkout in this unit. The blue in the photos is the sky.

The rooms have updated accommodations and are very clean. The grounds are well kept. The ocean views are beautiful from the beach and pools. The staff is helpful and friendly. ||The downside: the food is decent. The balcony’s are very tiny and the taxis are extremely expensive into Cabo and San Jose

It was our second trip to this property. The first visit was just after they opened. It is the usual excellent Westin service and amenities. We arrived at 2:30 after a delayed flight and waited til after 5 til our room was ready. Despite being Platinum Owners, I felt this to be a bit long to wait for a room when checkout is before noon. But be advised that this property is all by itself. There is no shopping, no nature to wander, no beach to walk along. It is the pool or nothing. And with the activities going on from about 11-3 each day, it is not quiet. In addition, the restaurant selection on the property is very limited. There is a sports bar, a casual dining place and then a place for dinner. They are literally all connected, just different doors and different hours of operation. The fancy place, which requires a reservation, opens at 5 and is a walk up to the Owners rooms and owners pool. So, if you are wanting to explore you are going to have to go somewhere in a car in traffic that can be awful. The room was great as usual. Every room has a patio or a balcony. Every room faces the ocean. The AC is super cold. Blackout curtains allow for restfull sleep. But i did find the feeling of being stuck on the property a little much for me. I probably wont be back.
