Overall the experience was positive. When we first arrived the valet service was quick and efficient. Upon approaching the desk for check there was no greeting or any eye contact from the clerk. The process was quick though, and we were headed to our room. It was disappointing that several outlets in the room weren’t working. Neither was the lighted stand mirror in the bathroom. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. We headed out and enjoyed the evening. The real 5 star moment of the stay happened upon our return later that night. We stopped in the lobby to purchase a drink to take to our room and received exceptional customer service by Cachet Lee. Her warm greeting and friendly attitude more than made up for our interaction earlier that day. She needs to lead a training for all front desk employees. The location is great for easily getting to the FedEx Forum or other downtown locations.

I had great stay at this location. The room was great. Loved the bar and the live music playing. It was getting dark and wanted to get off Beale St and it was great to go back to hotel bar and live music. I felt very safe here. Everyone was really nice and helpful.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Westin Memphis during a quick visit with family. The hotel was in a prime location just off Beale Street and across from the FedEx Forum. In spite of an event at the Forum, valet parking was top-notch at check in and check out. The staff were genuinely friendly and engaging across the board, from Rico at the front desk to every single valet. We were traveling with our dog, and the staff were equally welcoming to him, as well. We ordered breakfast in the room, which was complimentary due to our Marriott status. This is exceptional as most properties only comp breakfast in the restaurant. It was especially nice as the restaurant was crowded with athletes from the event across the street! The food was slow, as we expected based on the occupancy, but it was delicious and the person who took our order was conscientious and kind. Like I mentioned, EVERYONE was lovely. As Marriott platinum members, we received a suite night upgrade to a one bedroom suite. The room was clean and spacious. The decor was updated and the bed was super clean and comfortable. I gave the room four stars because of a couple of minor issues. The curtains and blinds are electronically controlled, which is great, but only if they work flawlessly. The installation was sloppy and wires blocked the tracks, preventing the curtains from closing. I was able to stand on the desk and move the wires, enabling the curtains to close. Luckily I’m a petite woman, since the desk has a glass top. The other minor issue was the dated bathrooms. They were clean, but didn’t keep up with the other decor in the room. We stay at a lot of Marriott properties around the world, but few warrant this type of glowing review. The employees make all the difference! We thank every one who made our stay remarkable! This will be our preferred hotel in Memphis for future visits.

The Westin on Beale St. is a great hotel to stay to enjoy Memphis downtown area. It’s located close to all of the attractions and restaurants. Besides being a beautiful and well located hotel, the service provide by the employees makes the Westin really shine. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone is greeted with kindness and a smile. Rico went above and beyond to make my family get to our destination on time. Everyone works together like a community and everyone treats you like family.

Took a trip to Memphis to hang out with some friends and attend a Memphis Grizzlies game across the street from the Westin. The hotel location is convenient and next to FedEx Forum and all the amenities downtown. The issue we had was the restaurant located in the hotel. We got there early to get some breakfast and there wasn’t too many people there at the time but it took an hour to get our food to us. The food did not arrive all at the same time and someone from our party didn’t get their food until everyone had already eaten. The kitchen must have been short staffed or something but we weren’t really given an explanation on why it took so long. Not a good experience at the stay there for what we paid for.

Google
This is a beautiful hotel! I loved the aesthetics of the room and could have stayed there all day! The bed and pillows were comfortable and the HVAC was quiet. It is a perfect location for the FedEx Forum, and of course it's right on Beale Street. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I'm ever back in Memphis, I would stay here again.

Google
The Westin Memphis Beale Street is like the perfect algorithm for a flawless stay! From seamless check-in to the comfy bed that feels like a marshmallow hug, everything was top-notch. The room had a high-tech shower and a killer view of Beale Street's neon glow. The location? Right in the heart of Memphis’ legendary nightlife and blues scene. It’s like finding the ultimate cheat code for an unforgettable trip – cozy, stylish, and right where the action is. A+ would totally stay again!

Google
Great location, fine hotel, a little dated in decor but so what? Clean, exactly where you want to be, Beale Street or the arena. Leslie at the front desk was so helpful. Pointed us to the sites that interested us, everything was interesting, fun, or both. I messed up and did get her name into the official Marriott feedback form but I hope she gets some props from this. Great job!

Yelp
The location is great. The room is just okay but the bed is wonderful. Now the staff is as one would expect for Memphis but friendly enough. Some updating is needed in the entrance to keep a comfortable feeling walking in downtown Memphis. One major hiccup that needs to be addressed immediately is NO room service ??? and a bar that closes at 11 pm on a Saturday. No room service and no bar in downtown Memphis after 11pm would make me rethink my next visit.

Yelp
Had to stay here for work and decided to use a voucher for a $15 bar credit that I was given at check in. Made my way to the bar at night and the bartender was just scrolling social media and watching videos on his phone. I presented the voucher and asked for my drink. When I had finished my drink, I was hoping he would look up from his phone and see that I had been waiting for about 10 minutes. Eventually I had to yell 3 times to get his attention off his phone to which the 3 other customers in the bar laughed because of how ridiculously bad the service was. When it came time to pay, I noticed the service charge and I asked the bartender about it. He gave me a jumbled excuse about how it because I used the $15 credit. So essentially this hotel is running a scam where they entice you with a free drink at the bar and then charge you a mysterious 20% open service charge on the entire bill to make up the money. I spoke to the supervisor on staff that night and she said she didn't know what that was about. I have reported this to Marriott and notified the company I work for to remove this hotel from our available options. In addition to the bar issue, the room I was given was not appropriately cleaned with previous guests hair in the shower and a sofa with stains. This is unlike any other Westin I've stayed in before and is truly disappointing.

Yelp
I came Into town to see the Jhené Aiko concert and let me tell you . This hotel was perfect as it was across the street from the venue !!! The room was a little small on my westin stays -- I'm from Los Angeles I stay in Anaheim a lot for Disneyland ! The shower needed to be cleaned better -- a party of my party left because the whole 5th floor was soaking wet / and smelled like mold What I did not like was NO one came to refresh the towels or the trash cans all weekend . The real reason I am leaving this review is for Demetrius at check in was amazing ! Shout out to him for helping me with my bags and baby ! You were a blessing sir !

Yelp
Looking back on my 2024 stays. This was my worst experience. Great location but hotel needs lots of renovation. Suites are overpriced for the condition they are in. Even 20,000 Marriot points wasn't enough for what this suite cost me!

Yelp
I have not stayed at this hotel, but have been several times to eat, drink, enjoy music, and be merry, lol! I can say that I enjoyed each time I have gone. They have events in the lobby and they are always a vibe. The bartenders are always pleasant. They work really hard to make sure that not only drinks are made, but food as well. I normally get the green tea shots when I go and they are always good. I also had wings, they were seasoned well. The live Jazz Nights are bi-weekly. It's a nice touch to ending a work week. Everyone is grown and just looking to wind down. After that, they have a dj playing smooth R&B. I definitely look forward to going again. The price points are decent. The staff is nice, the spacing/seating is great, and the vibe is grown and sexy. They do have valet parking just in case.

Dennis H.

Yelp
The room was extremely clean. The food at the restaurant was good. Everyone was very helpful and nice. The reason for four stars and not five. The music from Beale st could be heard in our room until 2am.

Todd G.

Yelp
This hotel was decent. It was loud the night i stayed as there was a basketball game that night. The room was updated but bathroom was dated and found mold in the shower. The gym was just okay and was missing weights. The treadmills were not functioning well. l

Yelp
Fantastic location in Memphis. So many restaurants in walking distance. Average hotel and rooms. All the typical Westin amenities! Pleasant staff. Enjoyed the stay!

Yelp
*This review is for the Nitty Gritty restaurant INSIDE of The Westin hotel. Penny's Nitty Gritty is fairly new, and is located inside The Westin hotel right across from the FedEx Forum. We found out about this restaurant as a spotlight on the local news. Parking securely in Downtown Memphis is at your own preference, and a lot depends on the following: time of day (pricing/spaces), if you're willing to pay, and how far you're willing to walk. There is a garage right by The Westin hotel. Upon entry, The Westin hotel is a very spacious, well lit, and clean. The concierge desk is straight ahead, and the employees are friendly. We asked where the restaurant is, and it is to the right of the desk. One of the employees recommended the collard green fondue along with the soul rolls. The entrance into the restaurant is very nice. There is a mural of the city on the left, with the name of the restaurant written inside the cast iron skillet. The floors and tables are clean, and the space is very open and inviting. The windows provide great lighting, and you have a nice view of the Forum and free view of events to come. There's also a little area slightly sectioned off seemingly for business meetings or the classic working lunch. side note: restrooms passed. They are located near the bar of the hotel lobby. The hanging plants around the bar make for such a nice wall. It was before noon, so there wasn't a crowd. We were greeted and able to sit by the window. Our server brought us our menus, and gave us time to browse. She was nice and very attentive. At the recommendation of the concierge, we got the collard green fondue and the southern egg rolls. The fondue was really good! It was hot, and the collard greens added a very unique touch. The egg rolls were good too. Within each roll, there was macaroni and cheese, greens, and even a little sweet potato served with a sauce that reminded me of sweet chili sauce. The sauce fit well with the rolls. The menu is to the point. The area with sandwiches have options for enhancements (add-ons). I got the Yum Yum grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings, dad got the turkey burger and sweet potato fries, and mom got the grilled cheese with monterrey jack and grilled chicken with sautéed spinach. Each meal had a nice presentation. My Yum Yum sandwich was ok. Brioche buns are always a nice touch for any sandwich and my grilled chicken was fresh, but there wasn't much else as far as taste. The onion rings were ok. The turkey burger was a little dry and kind of bland, and the fries were ok. But... the grilled cheese was really good, and so was the sautéed spinach! For lunch, I feel the portions are a nice size. The lunch menu was a little...pricey, so prepare to spend between $12 to $30, primarily depending on what you want. The restaurant itself is nice, and it definitely feels like somewhere you'd go for a business lunch or to meet someone. The restaurant has both lunch and dinner services. The location is also a great opportunity, as it's right across the street from the Forum, Rock and Soul Museum, a few steps from Beale Street, and a perfect stop in for hotel guests. It's always good to bring new ideas to Memphis. I'll give this one a rating: we like new things. Done incorrectly, collard greens in a cheese fondue would be a mess and putting Thanksgiving dinner in an egg roll would be a mess, but these ideas were pulled off nicely. While it was pricey, it was my first time trying collard greens in a fondue, southern meal sides fitting into an egg roll, or a grilled cheese being interestingly delicious.

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights during our Elvis Trip. A few hiccups during our stay, but the service helped make up for it. Everyone is helpful and very professional. The front desk, the valet, the restaurant/bar area, literally everyone! Our phones did t work, the TV remote was missing, the ice machine was down on our floor and we had a little trouble getting checked in on our first night arriving. To be fair, there was a basketball playoff game and a huge storm on top of that. It definitely hindered their productivity, so I give a pass on some of the issues. The location is one block away from Beale Street and literally right across the street from FedEx Forum. Very convenient to local attractions. They have a sitting area on the corner of the hotel with high top tables and chairs. Great spot to people watch. Like I said, the service made up for a lot of our issues. Top notch staff and conveniently located is the best way to sum up this hotel.

Yelp
We were upgraded to an executive suite. Dirty room - literally found needles on the floor! Furniture had stains, rug was gross, fingerprint marks on all the windows, mini frig was so dirty we didn't want to touch it. Hallways had scratches & dings. Good location but needs a facelift. Glad we didn't pay for the upgrade. Also valets are supposed to help with luggage - not sit on their butts - 4 of the sitting there while we struggled unloading. Staff was friendly but not helpful at all. Restaurant was subpar at best - very slow service & so so food.

Yelp
Excellent stay with the Westin on Beale! Although I could only stay one night here, it was so needed. If you enjoy staycations, this one should definitely be added to your list. Check-in was easy, and not a lot of people at all. My husband and I got a chance to relax in the lobby and enjoy a few cocktails and appetizers. We were told that the bar was limited with the food choices, but we were pleased with what we got. The room was spacious, and the view was out of this world! The bed was comfortable, and after doing my clean down of the room, I immediately jumped into the bed. The next day we enjoyed a nice brunch at the restaurant Bleu and took advantage of the Starbucks attached to the hotel. The best part about this hotel is that it's within walking distance to so many nice hidden gems downtown. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm referring to the date of 7/23-7/24. There were the basic issues where no one answers the phone at front desk. You have to go down and speak to someone. The room Was not serviced as the hair in the shower and bathroom was not of my texture or color. Called in the am and no one answered so I had to call from My cell phone to ask at 9 am upon one set of towels. The robe in the room one was used and it showed that. I never had anyone come to give towels so I walked out to get towels at noon. This isn't even the most disturbing thing. I just so happen had the closet door which at this property right by the door. It was open and I just taken a shower and a man opened the door. My door was shut. The man looked and said oh ... I don't know what else he said because I was screaming. I looked at the peephole and I saw him standing there. I went to call front desk but no one answered. I called the number again and reservation told me I have to call front desk because it's property issue. I tried to put my personal items in security lock box but battery low so does not work. I brought my belongings that I would be concerned about and I went to front desk. The manager on 7/24 at 1pm a gentleman as I'm telling what happened. " oh maybe housekeeping" Housekeeping announces themselves and knocks. That man did no such thing. Again" gets on walk-in talkie. I'll have someone check. I said the lock box does not work and I explained even the room. How disturbing this was as kidnapping is real. The lady at front desk told me as I'm speaking due to the manager moved away from my conversation as he was done and she said that he was the one to talk to. He told me oh I can have towels up to your room, I'll have engineer come up to do the lock box, I'll have someone clean the room.. he told me that he can give me free breakfast.. I said no .. I just said someone came into my room. I said that is not good, im leaving out.. so he said well I can get you a drink. I said im vegan and I don't want a drink. This is how you handle a safety issue. I have never in my life experienced this but I see this happening. So either this manager is in on it as no manager would allow this to happen. This is safety

Yelp
We chose this hotel for its location and price availability during Memorial Day Weekend for one night. While they don't have free parking, they do have $35 valet parking where you are able to take your car in and out without additional charges. If you only need to park your car for the day, there is self parking for $25. The valet were very kind and careful with our car. The guest concierge was lovely, checking on me to see if I was alright and double checked with me to see if we needed one bed or two. The downstairs lobby and bar is nice and even had live music in the evening. The rooms however were not entirely up to par for a Westin Property. It could use a refresh and a good scrub. As you see in our pictures the lamp, the wall, and one of the seats in the sitting area were dirty. I also thought this room lacked the Memphis appeal meaning it could have used some local Memphis artwork instead of bland images from a field. The only local Memphis flair you see is in the lobby in the form of Gibson guitars from famous singers. However the room did come with a fridge, a robe, and coffee machine that was stocked with Starbucks which was a nice addition to our morning routine. There is also a little fridge stocked with mini liquors and snacks for an additional charge. There is no free breakfast which is a shame for the price. Ultimately the location was great as it was a short walk from Beale Street and we did not find the noise from outside too loud. We never felt unsafe. Would love to see a pool installed here given the price, plus it's hot down in Memphis!

Yelp
Nice jazz vibe but the bartender doesn't have a clue. Made old fashioned but didn't know to put ice in it. Totally inept St Michele way over priced at $19 a glass?? Good help hard to find. But at those prices gotta figure it out

Yelp
Stayed here in February. This trip was a birthday gift to my mom. After looking at other nearby Marriott locations, I settled upon the Westin because of the proximity to the arena, Beale st, as well as other historical places. When I checked in, the young lady only offered points as my welcoming gift. I stated I wanted breakfast instead. She replied I could not get both. Ma'am, you did not give me a choice. (1). After getting my keys and vouchers, I asked if there was anyone available to help with my bags. She said no. I was quite surprised that service wasn't offered. I started unloading luggage for 4 people. The. a young man appears. He ask if I bed help. I told him the woman at the front desk said there wasn't any bell hop to help with my things. He said I am the bell hop. (2). He said he was doing that and valet. As I am unloading my mom calls me to say there's an empty Pringles container on the table and a nuts bag as well. (3). I went upstairs, besides that, everything else looked in place. I just drove 19 hours. I did not have the energy to switch rooms. However, I told the young lady, in person, as I was still gathering items from our vehicle and had to go back downstairs. I told her I would do an inventory to make sure everything was in order with the snack and mini bar list when I go back to the room.. Well, after about 45 minute to an hour later, I went back to the lobby. I've completed the work and went to tell her, the same lady, about something else missing. She acted like we never had a conversation. (4) I ended up asking for a supervisor to explain everything to which I was looked at with what appeared to be skepticism until I pulled out my camera to show the footage of me conducting the survey. I told him to check to time on the video and match with the time items were moved around check in. Oh my, there's so much more. Though it's months later, I did not have the energy to follow up with Marriott or review this experience, but I do have notes from that time. I'm stopping here. I had 2 rooms booked, but canceled to second room the following day, which was when to reservation started. I refused to give them anymore business. However, while I will spare you of the other 4 incidents, I must warn you about the contracted worker entering my room without cause. There was a lady from the same company, identified by uniform top, cleaning the room across the hall. I know because I wanted more towels and looked to see if housekeeping was nearby. Well, as we sat in the living room. The door entering the room opened. There was no knock at all. I called out hello because from where I was sitting, I could not see that door. Then the door closed. I got up went to the door, opened it and there's a male present with the same uniform the lady who was cleaning across the hall wore. I asked what he wanted, but he acted as if he was confused and didn't understand. The lady said something in another language to him. He said "nothing" and he moved as if he was lost. Let me tell you something. That night, as I was going out with my mom, I discovered I was missing a couple of things from my overcoat's pocket which hung in the hall since the first evening. I have no proof, but this was not a good thing to happen prior to me finding my items disappeared. We usually were out by that time of day, but just so happen, we were behind schedule. 2 stars for location, space of suite, amenities in bathroom, comfortable bedding, and the 1 person who gave me the overseeing manager's information, or so I think. I can't believe this is still a draining subject for me months later. I hardly ever write a review before contacting the company, but this is needed regardless, especially when there's so much more to highlight.

Sara K.

Yelp
I stayed here for 5 nights in June 2023. It is a great place to stay. The on-site restaurant is very good. I want to commend the server Angie who served me on 3 of my 4 visits to the restaurant. She is an exemplary employee... super friendly. She's not pushy and talkative if you give off the vibe that you just want food. If you are open to her, she is a gem. I rarely write reviews, but I just had to, in hopes that her boss would give her a raise. She totally deserves it! She is super friendly, and a good server. in addition, she remembered my name and greeted me each time I visited. If it wasn't for her, I would have gone to other establishments on Beale Street, to check them out. I kept coming here cause of her--she MADE my experience!

Rita G.

Yelp
Got in very late last night....here for the International Blues Competition in Memphis. The clock in our room is an hour late. Never double checked with my phone. I got up and wanted coffee and breakfast. Restaurant Westin closes at 10:30...it is 10:46. Ms Nicole, manager at their restaurant, is kind enough to fix me breakfast and prepare a to go breakfast for my friends. This is the service that is rare these days. They even brewed me my decaf coffee. They met my needs in every way. The food was delicious. Thank You, Ms Nicole and staff. Thank You, Westin. We are here until Saturday.

Laura M.

Yelp
This is my third stay here and mostly my best stay. The little store is full of snacks and things. Restaurant is convenient and the starbucks is around the corner and the nba arena right across the street. You don't even need to wear a jacket to walk to it - it's that close. Beale street is only steps away and is a great place for music and on cheat food days. I was enjoying the lobby when a housekeeping staff member spent an hour vacuuming the lobby while guests including myself were attempting to conduct business, make calls and have meetings. It was so loud I had to pack up and go back to my room even though I was enjoying the more expansive view from the lobby. All that vacuuming, only to find out a bit later that not one of the three sinks in the lobby bathroom has any soap. Priorities matter. Things like vacuuming at top level hotels are usually done in the wee hours of the morning so as not to create unnecessary noise while guests are enjoying common spaces. But that's why this one isn't fully top notch when it comes to guest experiences. Still, it's a great location and is the best hotel within walking distance of the arena. Staff at the front desk is friendly enough though not overwhelming. The room is spacious with a Ritz Carlton level bathroom. Good bedding, nice bedside outlets and a huge window. The room doors allow lots of hallway noise in so if you're a heavy sleeper the housekeeping staff clattering the last night's dinner dishes of your next door neighbor won't wake you. It has the Westin smell and feel.

DeAngelo V.

Yelp
Solid Westin overall. Close to everything, Starbucks attached. I've stayed and several places in downtown Memphis and this is by far my choice. It's clean, nice, easy to get in/out of. Don't waste your time many other places. One of the newer properties downtown.

Kyle N.

Yelp
Great location, at the heart of downtown Memphis, less than 5 minutes waking to Beale street, hence the hotel name. I am a fan of Westin hotels generally, I stayed at dozens access the country. I like their Heavenly brand amenities; the bed, shower, etc. I also like their signature design elements such as the gray-green color tones, the use of wood in the decor, and the lobby scent. The only disappointment was the in-room breakfast; presentation in to-go boxes was very poor, and I know the pandemic has induced several restrictions, but even the quality was below the expectations for a Westin. Still the overall stay was pleasant, and the front desk Day lady friendly and welcoming.

Celeste G.

Yelp
The main desk was very courteous and helpful and the room was clean. The mattress on the bed could have been a bit less bumpy but overall a fairly decent stay UNTIL we received a parking ticket in the mail today (7/11) for $95 for "parking on private property". The photos attached show the car in the garage PARKED BY THE HOTEL VALET PERSONNEL!!! We should have kept the tip we gave them to go towards the ticket fee!!! Future hotel patrons beware using this hotel's valet service!

Major C.

Yelp
The bartenders are great, but the entertainment is sub-par! He did not do any of the songs he sang justice! I know you can do better than that!

Samuel C.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay. Our rooms aren't ready when we arrived but the front desk was very nice about updating us. The desk clerk also found a way to "inspire" us via coupon to visit the bar while we wait. We absolutely enjoyed room 315. 2 person tub, large shower, and large room space. Very quiet even though all kinds of noise we going on after the new edition concert we had a restful and quiet night. Will stay here again.

A D.

Yelp
Two words to describe this experience.. "NEVER AGAIN"! or. "THE WORST ". Your choice! Have stayed at Westin properties around the country. Let's just say this property leaves a lot to be desired. Did not recognize request for early check in. Finally got to a room an A/C not working. WTF. this is not the Westin I've come to love!

Leah S.

Yelp
Pro: valet guys were very nice and attentive Pro: location is good Con: smells old and isn't very clean Con: it's loud. You can hear the people in the room next to you cough and their dogs barking. We were woken up in the middle of the night by screaming drunks in the hallway. When I opened our door to ask them to quiet down one of the females in the group started screaming at me asking if I wanted to fight. Con: the room got super hot at night, the blankets they have are far too heavy. The pillows were so flat we both slept horrible and our necks are killing us.

Richard H.

Yelp
The bathroom is spacious with separated shower and tub. Le Blue restaurant is closed for dinner, open for breakfast. The bar opens at 4:30 pm and it sells grill bar food. The clerk was wonderful.

Yelp
This Westin Memphis Beale Street Is Bad News Beware November 2023 I am currently a retired Disabled Veteran for the United States Army. I booked a room at The Westin Beale Street Hotel on 09 Nov 2023 to attend a funeral on today. I have book with Marriot Hotels many times before as I have an emotional support animal that travels with me, she is a 7 month old shepherd 61 lbs. I phoned the hotel as I always do just to confirm that it was okay as I stated she is easily spooked, I asked them to put this in the notes. I arrive to check-in between 17:30-18:30, I understand this is a busy time. Due in part to age the puppy will bark or pee when she is frighten. However she did bark, but I managed to get her in the elevator and in our room. Being that this was a new environment she would bark when she heard a door slam, or other dogs barking on the floor. When we would get her off the elevator to go to the bathroom she barked as well. She did not bite, scratch, nor jump on anyone but we were asked to leave at midnight after driving 8 hours to get there. We asked to speak with the administrator on call and Val Bobo said she was just that, we said okay we will leave, however will you refund us? Val's words were verbatim "We don't do no refunds". My wife said you are asking us to leave a dog friendly hotel at midnight. Val stated "The Dog Looks Aggressive". My wife stated "No she's a puppy she has been spoked. Val goes on to say we had 3 people that asked to be moved because our dog was barking. we told her yes she barked some but we also heard another dog barking. We left the hotel and sought other rooms so that I may attend the funeral of my fellow serviceman, however we were unsuccessful because the rooms were booked for a conference. We had to immediately drive 8 hours back home which has left me emotionally drained. We were bullied, and humiliated in front of other hotel guest. I will never stay in this hotel again. We left the hotel, can you believe they charged us for the full three day stay and added charges for things we did not purchase this is sickening. Charles Sweeny was adamant they were not going to refund us until we got regulatory involved. The GM that I never spoke with lied and stated we were told we would be charged for one night "which never happened" the GM stated there was an error in their billing system which caused them to charge us for services we never had. Go figure! DO NOT used this hotel, it smells like marijuana, there is a large transient population around the area. There is clearly an issue with the ethical compass of those in charge. Culture trikles from the top down, the GM lied, so there is no surprise to me that the Front Desk Manager Val Bobo, and The Director of Operations Charles Sweeny are as unethical as they are. You've been warned stay away!!!

Yelp
I'm all over the map on this review, but my review is for my last three nights in my new room and doesn't include my first night in a different room with more than one issue. Location, location, location - if you really want to stay near Beale Street, this is your place. You are literally 60 seconds away from all of the action. You will hear the music from your room, but that's to be expected due to the location. It's not overly loud or obnoxious. I actually enjoyed it. Room - the hotel is undergoing cosmetic updates and my new room along with the lobby had recently been updated, and it showed. I got lucky with a corner room overlooking Beale and the floor the ceiling windows provided for endless late-night entertainment. Tip, there is no room fridge in the room, only a monitored mini fridge so I asked for one to be brought up. Second tip, make sure the bath is working when you check in. At the end of a long day, all I wanted was to soak in the tub, but the water wasn't working and there was nobody from the maintenance team available to fix it that night, so I had to wait until the next day. Staff - while friendly, I do wish they acknowledged elite members, specifically Titanium members a bit more, especially since there is no lounge. Management- perfect. As I mentioned, my first room had issues, the management made it right and got my in a different room. Amenities - where this hotel lacking is not having a pool. It's TN, it's hot. People want to cool off. I wish there was a pool, even a hot tub. If nothing else, a place to hang out outside, besides the sidewalk would be nice. Overall, despite some issues, I enjoyed my stay here with the best part being the location.

Yelp
Sunday, April 8, 2018 It is Sunday FunDay! I knew that I wanted something to eat that had flavor- So I remembered that Bleu inside the Westin Memphis had a very yummy Salmon dish amongst other tasty dishes. At that moment I went online and made reservations. Once my reservation was set I valeted the vehicle and entered The Westin. There were tons of people in the area for the Memphis Grizzlies game so luckily I didn't have to wait for a table. I was shown to my table immediately and was greeted my the very sweet Teresa. She took my order with promptness and I was served in less than 15mins. Thank you Teresa for your swiftness and sweet personality! I'd recommend Bleu inside the Westin for your dining needs. :)

Yelp
This is the worst Westin hotel I have ever stayed at. We checked in to hotel Monday January 2nd and computers were down. We waited 1.5 hours until computers could come back online. When we got to room, the room smelled and the bathroom sink never drained right so water would collect high in the bowl. We called for bathroom towels and nobody brought them to us. In additions, we waited 10-15 minutes everytime we wanted our car from Valet which they charge over 40 per night and also give parking to people that are attending events at stadium across the street which backs up the Valet driveway. The Valet will not get a cart and help you with luggage to room. We had to get our own cart and load our own suitcases and take them to the room. The staff have no clue about anything and cannot answer barely any questions even though they all live in the area. Beale street is disappointing and not much going on there except for dangerous crimes and strange mix walking the street especially at night. Across the street from front side entrance there is a private bar that was blasting music all night long. Overall, this hotel is the worst and you would be better off at The Peabody or someplace close by out of town. The city is quite depressing and not a good vibe compared to Nashville.

Yelp
So the appearance is nice upon arrival sweet folks from the valet to the desk for checking in. Made reservations via AAA, was easy but they AAA nor the hotel email your stay like room number on anything except the card holder. I didn't know this was undocumented/ as they need this should you lose:forget anything which I did. The issue I had was the banging and hollaring @ 9am by housekeeping. I literally jumped scared thinking I was in someone's personal space... Not being a morning person this thru off my mood/ day/ time-stay. The for real hollaring and radios loud af.. Since I felt rushed and having knocked my door repeatedly during the next hour. I didn't pack all my belongings I forgot a supportive pillow for my knees/ spine. To get your items back is not easy at all! Via IG, Twitter & their number that goes no where it's seriously hard to contact anyone. The number offers a Lost/Found extension but it goes to people who have no answers & transfer you voicemail boxes. The room number --- write it down in notes or somewhere who knew it's the only way to claim your items- they do not association reservations to your name / hotel room stay.

Yelp
Pick someplace else.... While convenient, do NOT expect room to be clean, or even BE CLEANED during your stay. We requested a room clean during our 4 night stay, and were told, not possible! Isn't this a full service hotel??? Upon checkout, asked general manager for a partial refund and were told, "thats not gonna happen". No accommodation for their negligence whatsoever. That said, restaurant staff were great! Basically understaffed, like most places, yet they hustled!

Yelp
We checked in to this hotel and parked our car with the valet located in the lobby of the hotel during our two night stay. Upon returning home we found a parking notice in the mail for parking on private parking for the two nights of our stay, threatening to send our account to a debt collector, when we had parked our car with the hotel's valet. Upon talking to a rude person at the hotel named Charles (who disconnected me twice) was informed that the hotel is not responsible for the valet parking and that it's our problem, not the hotel's. We paid $700. for a two night stay at this Marriott Westin Hotel and now have a parking ticket for $92. DO NOT stay here! This is a major scam!

Yelp
Must visit the restaurant. While there, order a Ceaser Salad and get the catfish croutons! YES, I said catfish croutons. They will change your life.

Yelp
The location, value, cleanliness and staff were top notch. Esp Mrs. P at the front desk and the young man at the valet. Would highly recommend if you are looking for hotel in Memphis that is close (walking distant) to 80% of what Memphis has to offer.

Yelp
Love the Westin! My favorite beds and pillows! Everyone was nice. Even cleaning staff. Could use more attention to corners of shower with possible mold growth. Body washes not filled . Unfortunately the elevator was a big issue and no one fixed it for multiple days with multiple events going on. Other than that great stay and location just possible more attention to cleaning for those who notice things. Would definitely stay there again though.

Yelp
The staff here and experience here is absolutely terrible. Check-In is at 3pm.. got to the location at 4pm.. well past check - "Sorry Pal - Your Room isn't ready.. we have no clue when it will be ready." But you better believe they charged me full price and gave zero accommodations. "Welcome to the Westin" now organize our schedule around and at our liesure. Avoid at all costs - worst "4 Star" experience I have ever had.

Yelp
Wow. Where should I start? Typically, when I hear "Westin" I think of a really nice hotel. When we checked into the first room--we found an extremely dirty oom with the bathroom covered in mildew/mold. So we called the front desk and they were extremely nice and immediately changed our room. Guess what? The next bathroom was also covered in mildew and mold. Tried to order a Bloody Mary on Saturday morning at 11:00 am. We were told the bartender had not shown up for work so they couldn't help us.?? Pretty sure I could of gone behind the bar and made a Bloody Mary. Come on Westin. You can do better than this.

Kegan G.

Yelp
Stayed here for work and the room was plenty nice. I arrived earlier than expected (1pm) and they didn't have my room ready yet, which was disappointing but totally understandable. I left my luggage and the front desk guy verified my email and told me I would receive an email when my room was ready. That email never came, but I logged into the Marriott app and was able to check in around 3:45 at which point I walked up to the desk again and a different person gave me my key. Once I got checked into my room, everything looked nice enough. Plenty of outlets and USB ports for charging, bathroom was rather large with a separate tub and shower, and they have a little roll-on lavender essential oil by the bed which is a nice touch. The room seemed to be a bit on the pricey side for Memphis, but I knew that when booking so that's fine.

Yelp
You Will Like This If: You really value location, location, location. If you're visiting Memphis then this is the area where you want to be. You Won't Like This If: You hate paying to park when you're already paying for a room or you appreciate the freebies you get at cheaper hotels. The Details: I got a king room for $190 a night. Your own experience may vary and that my change your perception of the hotel, but at that price (plus parking) it was a great location and a very nice hotel and not that much more expensive than the lesser options. Location is the selling point here, because the hotel's services are overpriced. But it is a well-maintained property, which seems to be something that's harder to find in recent years. Every place I stay has scuffed paint or little dings in the furniture. But not here. It wasn't luxury, but it was very well taken care of.

Yelp
I've stayed at this particular Westin four times now and a review is truly past due! My first (and possibly most important!) tip: if one is available, go for the rooms with the treadmill and workout equipment! I was spoiled my first time here. These rooms were going for well under 200 dollars and if, like me, you're one of those people who get cranky when a small hotel gym has even one other person in it, you cannot beat this type of amenity. Add to this, the room is so huge, you can run around it a couple times and it's like you're running around a track, only with floor to ceiling windows and your own personal shower that can fit at least 10 other people in it (I did not at any point invite 10 other people over to shower with me). Oh, the stories this shower could tell, no doubt. This *is* the hotel that houses visiting NBA teams, so I'll leave it at that. That said, I've yet to be able to stay in such a room after my first stay. The typical guest room is spacious and comfortable, up to the Westin standard. I am disappointed that you have to request shower gel, though. It's just annoying as other Westins provide it in your room and I kind of hate requesting things (even though there's a long list of things they can provide you with). That said, I really needed a damn bandaid and they didn't have that most basic necessity when I asked. Speaking of hotel gyms, the one here is fine. All the cardio equipment (3 treadmills, 3 or 4 ellipticals and a stationery bike or two) faces windows, which is cool. I've worked out in far too many hotel basements! The worst. They have two benches, exercise balls, free weights and a cable weight system that does the trick for the traveling workout fiend. The front desk staff at this Westin are really helpful and nice! I once needed stuff faxed and they did this for me no problem (who faxes anything anymore, right?) The standard of customer service is quite high. I'll write a separate review for the restaurant, but yesterday the waitress went above and beyond for me and went to the adjoining Starbucks to get soymilk so they could make my oatmeal vegan. There you have it! Until that magical hotel opens in Midtown, the Westin is my hotel of choice when in Memphis.

Yelp
For my first trip to Memphis, I wanted to experience the city as a tourist, to try and get a good feel for it. When I am traveling, I would like to be able to relax in a calming atmosphere. That boiled down my choices to the Peabody and the Westin. Since I am an SPGer and have AAA, I couldn't but not pass up the deals here. I got a AAA bed n breakfast rate for $159 a night (when the rooms are normally $179, with no breakfast)- and a daily $40 credit for breakfast. Unfortunately, the Peabody couldn't come close to offering something like that. So never being to Memphis before and having it be late at night, I just started driving til I saw some lights that would look possibly familiar- in the end, it was easy to find. They have self parking (which I utilized) and valet. They are $18/24 a night respectively (theres that hotel pricing I look forward too!). Since it was about midnight local time (on Valentine's day of all days), I was able to sneak in the lobby from the garage. As I walked in, I realized how nice and how new this place was. I also noticed the White Tea Aloe scent permeating the air. That is an addictive scent- and this is coming from a beer drinking macho. Check in was smooth, and I was on my way to the room. On my way to the elevator, I realized the nice case of Gibsons just sitting there- apparently for the guests to enjoy in their room... I will have to keep that in mind for next time- I just didn't want to put on an improv concert in the middle of the night... When I got up to the room, all I could do was laugh when I looked out my window and was greeted with the huge letters of "FEDEX FORUM". I had to remember who's backyard I was playing in (for those of you out of the know, I work for their main competitor). The room was spacious, clean, and I was shocked to see a soaking tub as well- I was just in a basic room (on the SPG floor). I didn't have any issues getting to sleep- or staying asleep. There was a stocked mini bar too (with that being said, not much, if any room to put anything else in there). Since I forgot to polish my shoes before I left, I called the desk, and dropped them off. When I came back from my late drinking, my shiny shoes greeted me on my desk ($14 later!). That was a convenience! The fitness center is being remodeled as we speak, but its cool- as it over looks the Gibson factory. The business center is equipped with enough goods to get your email and Yelp on. Comes in handy! Overall, this is the nicest Westin I have stayed in, and I think it's an awesome addition to Memphis. Good call!! I was only an incident away from giving this place 5 stars- as my credit for my breakfast never went through, so having to deal with that was enough from making it perfect. But other than that- this is a SOLID property, and I will surely direct my friends and family to stay here when they come to visit!

Yelp
A disappointment for Westin...every night of the 4 days I was there, something was wrong with my room and the lobby- interior vibe is quiet...almost lifeless. My first night after a late arrival and late check into my room there was someone's poop in my toilet when i got inside...yes, it was my first night...and a "Westin" hotel - who does the quality control there? ..seriously, how gross! Then when i returned the next night after business (8pm-ish), housekeeping had completely skipped or missed my room for cleaning and refresh, yes, this is a Westin! So i had to wait another 30-45 minutes to start getting ready for bed and to wind down from the day. Oh, and my room keys didnt work, so I couldnt get into my room when i went up...and when i dialed down from the floor phone, a recording said everyone was busy. SO, i had to go downstairs ...yet again...to get my keys recoded....need I go on? A top tier hotel downtown-they have always been one of my go to hoteliers...buyer beware on this one!!!

Yelp
What makes The Westin such a great place to stay during a trip to Memphis is the level of hospitality displayed by all the staff working there. Everyone had a genuinely friendly demeanor and were very attentive to our needs. Quintessential Southern Hospitality. Period. Every inch of the hotel is beautifully decorated and well maintained. The bar in the lobby was pretty cool and there was piano music on some nights of the week. What my travel buddy loved best was the case of Gibson guitars by the reception desk, which were available for loan during our stay on a first come first serve basis. After signing a lending agreement with the hotel, you get the guitar of your choice, an amp, and headphones delivered to your room. Very cool . Speaking of rooms, I adored that Heavenly Bed in the room and, if I had the extra coin, would purchase the bed for my home. I stayed in a room facing Gibson for more peace and quiet. I would recommend that you do, too, if you need to sleep as Beale Street is right around the corner. For me, the topper was the bathroom - so spacious and luxurious - with the double head shower and tub. I've stayed there twice on two separate trips to Memphis - once during the busy season in June and once during the slow season in December. On both occasions, it was a soothing experience staying at the Westin. Anytime I am in the city of Memphis, the Westin is my home away from home.

Yelp
Was way overpriced for the lack of amenities. Has a good location, but that's the only good reason to stay here. When we arrived at the valet parking at about 3:20PM It was jammed up with cars. Had to stay on the street blocking traffic for about 20 minutes before we could get in. Once in, the valet staff was extremely friendly, and professional. So we thought things would improve from there. Upon checking in, we were told that there were no rooms available with a king size bed. Now we booked this room on their website months in advance. So we accepted a compromise of $30 worth of vouchers and the price of a king bed room. I didn't even think at the time that our room should have been less expensive. So we paid for a king bed and got a queen. But did get 30 dollars to use only at the Starbucks, or the restaurant there, my review for that is next. When we got to our room, it was nice, the view of the forum was awesome, if you could see it threw the dirty fingerprinted glass. We had no soap, shampoo, or anything that you usually get at a hotel. The mini bar was a secured refrigerator that we couldn't open. There are no pop machines in the hotel, only a gift shop off the lobby that closes at 11pm, so if you want something to drink late at night make sure you bring something in with you. If you want a mini fridge, you have to request one, and they will bring one into your room. The concert we went to ended at 11 so we had no opportunity to purchase drinks at the gift shop. When we checked out, we mentioned that we couldn't open the mini bar, the desk clerk didn't know how to open it either. So that would have been a bust anyways. Bottom line, there are better options when staying in this part of Memphis. My advice, stay someplace else.

Yelp
I'm really enjoying our stay at the Westin Hotel ! It's expensive but I think totally worth it. The pros: close to Beale's Street Clean Lavendar to help you sleep Everyone has been so friendly The one young man at the valet station is very on point !! Con: Loud because of Beale Street

Jason K.

Yelp
Location is perfect for Beale Street. Internet in my room sucks. But considering everything not a bad place to stay. Might be the best hotel in Memphis actually.

Yelp
This reviews was going to be three stars (A-OK by Yelp standards) but then i remembered the bill. I don't understand how Hotel chains justify all the extra charges above your normal-run places. Just because you have some extra amenities available shouldn't mean you charge everyone for those. All i want in a quiet, non-eventful, pleasant hotel experience. This was just so-so. The service was average, and the rooms were just like a cheaper hotel. Not worth the extra cost, i should have just gone to a Hampton Inn, my trip would have been a whole lot better...with an extra $70 in my pocket.
