2018 Readers' Choice Awards: The Top Hotels in Paris

"There's a lot to like about this hotel in Paris's first arrondissement, from its spacious, high-ceilinged rooms, to its 24-hour room service policy, to the toothsome breakfast buffet that's laid out for guests each morning—no need to scout around on the streets for a fresh, flaky croissant when you stay here. But of course, there are some standouts: Lunch at the hotel's Le First restaurant is a must-do (it's worth it to sit out on the terrace, in the hotel's inner courtyard, where you can admire the mosaic-tiled fountain and surrounding columns and archways). The Six Senses spa offers an extensive menu of treatments, from a body scrub to an "Indian head massage," applied with warm coconut oil. Try to snag a Junior Suite for a panoramic view that stretches from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower." - CNT Editors

My family members and I have stayed at The Westin Vendôme many times over the years, with our first visit dating back to December 2015. It's hard to believe how quickly time has passed. Since then, Paris has become our favorite city to visit during each summer, and we have many memories visiting Vendôme, which is closely linked to this historic hotel that we will forever cherish. The location of The Westin was one of the standout highlights. The property is situated in the heart of Place Vendôme, steps away from world-renowned design houses and signature stores, as well as top-notch restaurants and cafes. Iconic landmarks, such as the Louvre and the Tuileries Garden, are also within walking distance. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of staying in various rooms, ranging from standard rooms to Junior Suites and Royal Suites. Each stay had its unique charm and memories attached, and has added to our wonderful experiences as a family. We cherish all the memories we have made and wish to extend our best wishes for the success of this site, both during the current renovation and rebranding. This place will always have a special place in our hearts.

Google
Fantastic location! I was very happy with this location. Close to many sites and metro options. The building is older, and you notice it in the bathrooms age/size and the maze like corridors, but it was nice and clean. Had amazing views from our terrace in a junior suite with Eiffel Tower view. Highly recommend! Whether as a couple or a family, this is a great hotel. It was nice enjoying the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night from our own terrace.

Google
Great location, rooms are good but a little tired and not very clean, breakfast also very good. We arrived a little after midnight, no one at the reception, called the official phone number and someone went out. We were given the 1st room - there was someone inside, changed the room - 2 single beds instead of 1 king, changed again and all good, upgraded to a beautiful Eiffel Tower view, thank you. So, the night auditor’s skills on March 15 are to be improved, he doesn’t really know the hotel and the room types, not professional and not welcoming in my opinion. Réception in the morning, excellent.

The rooms that we stayed in 1018 and 1020 can use updating. There were signs of dust on the chandeliers and moldings. Rooms can use more accommodations like coffee makers. We had mixed experience with staff. Everyone was mostly pleasant and friendly . We waited for 20 minutes for someone to tend to our bags. Perhaps a one off.

Google
The reception staff, especially Mohammed, were impressively accommodating and attentive to details. The concierge staff helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations that were fantastic and accommodated our needs. Breakfast very good. Rooms (we had a junior suite) fantastic. Beds comfortable, everything clean and the bathroom was very nice. The rooms with a view are worth it if you aren’t going to go visit everything in one go Very well located for major and minor attractions, metro—everything except the airport and cab rides, so best for those who can walk a little. Nearby neighborhoods packed with asian restaurants and good french ones also.

Google
4 star prices for a 2 star hotel. Very disappointing and I'm surprised this hotel is still operational. When we checked in, we noticed mystery fluid stains in our room on the walls, in bathroom, on lamp shades. The curtains looked like they could fall off any moment. I was travelling with our 6 month old so I was worried with the lack of hygiene and potential things falling. I immediately complained to management, they moved us to a new room citing the age of property and maintained challenges that come with. I quickly inspected the new room myself and initially everything seemed fine. But later discovered that the thermostat didn't work and I almost but my head in the shower twice because the ceilings are 6.5' I only booked this place because I'm a Marriot platinum status member but will absolutely never stay here again.

Google
Great stay. Location is the best, walking to everything. The staff was very kind and they upgraded us to the Eiffel Tower view room and let us check in early. It did get a little loud at night due to the fair that is right in front of the hotel, but not their fault and they did give us a warning :) the room was great, no issues. They are all very responsive on the chat on the marriot app. The hotel is very unique and historial. The team sent a bottle of champagne, chocolates and a card for our anniversary. I would definitely stay again here. Worth the price tag.

Google
I stayed here on a summer trip to Paris over the summer. I love, love Westins, but this one itself was older. My room did have a view of the Eiffel Tower which was cool. There's an open air cafe on the 1st floor where I had dinner two nights; that is perfect. I just wish the rooms weren't so dated. The locations was okay (a taxi from the train station, a walk to the Louvre).

Yelp
This hotel was lovely and made my stay with mom and sister just lovely. From walking in, I felt safe and treated so kindly by everyone. Our room had a king bed and a couch that opened into a bed which made the accommodations for we needed. The hallways were long so getting to our room took a minute, but that was ok and worth it because the view from our bedroom window was lovely. My favorite part was how I could open the glass doors from our room and let fresh air into the room. It was such a unique experience, and I loved listening to the city sounds while sitting by the window and reading. The hotel is centrally located as well so it was easy to get to the touristy areas as well as get to the train so we could visit some other parts of the city.

Yelp
We stayed at this historic hotel for 4 days. The building was build in the 1800s. The interior and the rooms are not up-to-date and has its own unique charm. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers who prefer modern decor. But what's lacking in decor, the hotel makes it up in their location, friendly customer service, comfy bed, and great patio over looking the Eiffel Tower. Yes, you have to pay extra to get rooms with Eiffel Tower view but we found it to be worth it. We enjoyed waking up to the view in the morning and admiring its glittering lights in the evening. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It's literally a few minutes away from all the luxury shops, across the street from Cédric Grolet cafe (take-away only), and the famous Cafe Angelina. The Lourve was app. 15 min walk from the hotel. A few upgrades in the room would be recommended: coffee machine (vs calling for coffee or going down to the lobby), mini fridge that's not stocked so we can put our drinks, ice machine (although we would always get our ice on the double whenever we asked for it - kiddos!). I also think newer and updated furniture would also go a long way. We bought the room with the Eiffel Tower and we were lucky to be upgraded to the suite which was amazing! It has 3 small patio overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Seperate large bedroom and living room. The living room has an outdoor patio great for private sunbathing. Oh their bed....super comfortable with great pillows, not one of those that go flat once you put your head on them. I slept like a baby! The staff - everyone we talked to were friendly and helpful. It started with Nicholas who checked us in, the gentlemen at the entrance, the ladies who did great job in cleaning our room and Tonia who checked us out. Overall a great stay and we can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Pros: -location -there is a metro close by (but not a large one) -very comfortable bed (if a cold sleeper you may need to ask for an additional comforter) -beautiful lobby, exterior and restaurant -decent sized bathroom for France -front desk and front of house staff are all lovely and helpful. So are the bell staff. Cons: -completely ignored our basic Marriott preferences (high floor, away from elevators, etc) -typically tiny French hotel room, but I do think that this was the smallest I had ever encountered. We were on our trip for a period of weeks moving from city to city and had 4 suitcases. There was no room to walk. It caused quite a bit of stress. I have no idea how a family would fit in a room of similar size. -whomever the house cleaning staff was they clearly hate their job and routinely slam doors. I watched her do this. Starting at 8am. Clearly not caring that this is a hotel with many people coming from different time zones and may need sleep. Absolutely unacceptable. -absolutely no acknowledgment of our honeymoon despite it being in the notes. No congrats, no Champaign, no upgrade even due to status. Of course they don't have to do any of that, but we typically get a note and gift no matter what. So to have 0 congratulations was a little deflating. -no outlet in the bathroom. And none need any mirror. So ladies, make sure to bring an extension cord for your hair products or you will not have a mirror. -bathroom lighting is incredibly yellow so I would also suggest bringing a makeup mirror with a light in it because it's rough in there. -there was a housekeeping storage tower permanently placed right outside our door which cheeped the experience e et time we left. -chipped and dented furniture -minibar was not fully stocked upon arrival which made us worry that we may be charged for items we did not use (and those items are VERY expensive) -punctured stained, marked and peeling wallpaper. Large chucks out of wall. See photo. -very little space for unpacking you so kind of have to leave your suitcases on the floor because you won't have a light space to unpack is staying more than a weekend -the one American outlet was loose and nothing stayed in it. See photos -no overhead lighting so your room is lot with a series of warm toned lamps at night. It's not very bright fair warning (if you have sight issues this may be problematic for you) plus there are extension chords visible for surging to plug into -paper cups and tiny toiletries kind of cheeped the experience. When a room is over $500 per night or really should have glass. -no coffee maker or kettle in the room, only the mini bar, there is free coffee in the lobby but only small cups and only from 6-12 and no kids so you can't really take it to go. Also no tea for tea drinkers like me. None. It would be an essay addition but no.. -the telephone in our room was disconnected which is not terrible but potentially a hazard. We were going to order room service but has no about to. -they forgot to pain part of the calling in our room. It looks like a sun shadow when the curtain are open but it is still there when drown. See photo.

Yelp
The building is very interesting but the rooms could use a remodel. I had a room facing the courtyard and it was very dark during the day. I don't particularly recommend this hotel because it's expensive and in a location that has the streets and metro shut down during big events (like the Paralympic Marathon) Getting into and out of the shower is not for the faint of heart - a big step over into a deep tub. As others commented - the staff was nice but a little off in execution. The highlight was the breakfast - it was great and in a beautiful restaurant within the hotel with hot and cold options, great coffee. No Bonvoy Lounge

Yelp
Stayed here back in May for a couple of days, and I honestly was not overly impressed. Not a horrific experience, but wish it had been better. The staff were glorious and so respectful with us as we arrived jet lagged and delusional, but I will note that in their haste to get both rooms ready, the cleaning service in one room was lacking. Some hairs in my bed sheets (which I was able to pick out, not the biggest deal, but not my favorite either), and seemed that the crew left in haste. The rooms were older but the views were stunning. I was disappointed overall, and it could have been a better experience for what we paid, but I would still recommend for location alone!

Yelp
The hotel is our favorite for many years and always beautiful, clean and affordable. The service is impeccable and very friendly. La Mama is a manager who is always available to help with suggestions and assistance. The restaurants are beautiful. The food is delicious and staff are over accommodating and friendly. I highly suggest this hotel for anyone visiting Paris which is centrally located and very convenient.

Yelp
They gave us two mold infested dirty rooms in a row. Both rooms had a bad infestation of mold and had stuff left by the previous guest as well. Cons: 1. The rooms were tiny, like a pantry size room so prepare to be very cozy. 2. Dirty, no one cleaned the room. Bed was made and then old plates of food, food all over the floor and crumbs everywhere. There were stains on the bed sheets. 3. Both rooms we were given were so moldy I still can't believe the manager just gave us another room worse than the next. it was truly awful. We told them about the room they gave us and they seemed mad at us for expecting a clean room. Pros: Do any pros make up for the hotel failing at the only job they had? to give us an acceptable room? So there were no pros as we never got to experience them. Watch out for this place.

Yelp
On December 3, my spouse, and I checked in to the Westin Paris VENDOME . This was not our first time at the hotel however, after this experience, it will be our last. The room type we originally booked was an Eiffel Tower of view room. Because of our status and loyalty with Marriott, we were given an upgrade to an ambassador suite. Upon check-in (between 12-1:30pm)we were told that the room type was no longer available ( they sold it out from us) and the room that they gave us did have an Eiffel Tower view, if you were a contortionist. The carpet was dirty. There was rust throughout the bathroom, including around the tub and the toilet hinge. There was a pile of trash left from the previous guest outside of our room for over six hours. The staff was unfriendly and the only guests that mattered was the large convention that was staying at the hotel at the same time as us. I have had a few conversations with the hotels general manager.(Jean Marc Michel) Feeling that I did not matter. Our loyalty to Marriott did not matter I would avoid the Westin Paris VENDOME.There are plenty of beautiful, kind and friendly hotels in the area.

Yelp
Visited here for a week on a work trip and this is absolutely the location to be! Not only is the location central Paris down the street literally from the Louvre, it is central to shopping districts and on a main street across from the public gardens. You can literally walk anywhere from this location. The interior of this place is spectacular, some of the rooms are spacious regular hotel rooms and some of the rooms are typical Parisian flat style. The place is quite large and the ballrooms are old style French villas decked out in gold leaf trim and just unbelievably spacious and glamourous. The staff here is excellent and there is all the amenities. The only complaint is the bar in this location is quite small and cramped and the staff are not up to par with handling crowds in this intimate lounge. Other than that, this place is worth every penny!

Yelp
Location is awesome!! Right across the Jardin Tuileries, walking distance from the Louvre, plenty of shops around the corner including Laduree and Angelina, conveniently located a block from Louis Vuitton. The rooms were outdated. We were on the 4th floor but we did have really high ceilings. I didn't notice our carpet, but I remember always wearing my slippers (complimentary) around the room. We had a courtyard view and booked the superior room 2 singles. We thought we booked 2 queens, but we had single beds instead. Though we had tall ceilings, the room was not updated. It was clean though. Bathroom was really old, clean but old. We encountered a clogged sink and maintenance came by to repair it within the hour. I get the hotel is older and this is its charm, but renovating and upgrading rooms would benefit this hotel, people want luxury accommodations when booking hotels at $300+ a night. Their staff was a mix of people who smiled and was courteous and really helpful, to people who showed up to work cause they had bills but didn't really want to be there. Hotels are about hospitality so if you don't have that customer experience as your priority when you're working, maybe you're in the wrong industry. With that being said, the staff at the buffet were so friendly, welcoming and attentive! I hate that I forgot his name, but we called him Kabayan, he was a fellow Filipino and was just real attentive to our family. They had a nice omelette and egg station as well. The staff at concierge , 5 stars- so friendly and helpful! Gave us recommendations of what to see and do, plus even called taxis for us and coordinated our airport transfer since we didn't speak French. Staff behind registration could be more helpful, 4 stars. Doormen were friendly and helpful! Tough job as it was freezing cold out there, but they still opened doors and greeted you with a smile. When you first walk in to the hotel you are greeted with a wonderful scent . However when you're walking from the elevators towards the buffet, there is a weird scent, smells like horse poo, trying to be covered by a strong scent of flowers. I'll never forget this, we smelled this daily. All in all, a great experience for my family and I. It was our first trip to Paris and appreciated the central location of this hotel. It was our home for 5 days. Would I book here again, probably not, unless they upgrade their rooms and get rid of that awful smell.

Yelp
We were excited to wrap up the last leg of our European trip in Paris. We chose the Westin based on the location and our loyalty to Marriott Bonvoy. The location was excellent! But that was the only real highlight. The staff was kind, but lacked execution. The concierge made multiple mistakes with our activities. One was booked on the incorrect date and one was booked without our consent. They also forgot to bring us water on multiple days. They do not offer a turn down service. The real low point is related to cleanliness and the housekeeping staff. It was unacceptable. I think a Best Western has better cleaning standards. The bathroom was very outdated, and dirty. We found hair and dust all over. The sink and bathtub didn't drain. We had to wash our feet outside of the shower because the water was up to our calves during our shower... gross. The shower also lacked hot water and required a one hour repair to be fixed. Lastly, and the most gross, there were bloodstains on the inside pillows (not the case). Other pillows had dirt stains on the pillow case. After seeing the bloodstains we were disgusted. They never even apologized. Basically acted like this is a normal occurrence...

Yelp
Breakfast, location, and staff were great. We noticed bed bug bites after a couple days there and took pictures. The management did provide another room, but then charged us that room's fees for the entire stay so we had to write back and forth to convince them. They finally refunded the part they overcharged. We will definitely not come here again due to the bed bug bites we noticed and took pictures of.

Yelp
The Westin Place Vendome is one of my 'go to' hotels in Paris given its location and charm. It's a classic French property and as such many of the rooms are unique. Regardless, they are quite comfortable and some have views of the Eiffel Tower. The was my first trip post-COVID and the hotel didn't disappoint l was upgraded to a prestige suite which was large and comfortable with an internal courtyard view, which meant is was nice and quiet. The hotel restaurant was open for its us all breakfast which was more quiet than in the past and the Hotel Bar also served dinner, which was nicely done. Overall, a great stay and I look forward to my next visit!

Kim L.

Yelp
Dated & dirty. Did not honor our booking for a suite and had to change rooms during a 3 night stay. Stained, filthy carpets throughout. No complimentary coffee or tea, in a suite. So incredibly tacky. They are also having issues with "water damage" but I saw brown water dripping from the ceiling. Disgusting hotel in an excellent location - hopefully another brand takes this over.

Lawana F.

Yelp
Bathrooms need an upgrade Ie. showers have minor mold on surfaces and the bathtub is too high to step into. This could be a potential safety hazard. The hallways, main floor where guest arrive is immaculate. However, if the rooms had a touch up in paint, furniture then it would match the areas most visible at check-in. As far as the service, the hospitality and beautiful scenery (restaurant 'la Terrasse des Roses' and its entire staff especially Joao, Adam, and the Manager) everything else is great.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
The worst, most racist hotel I have ever at. Was questioned by the general manager if I really stayed here even though I tapped my room card in the elevator right in front of him. Extremely rude and made no attempts to give us any reasoning behind this search. He repeatedly made us show the room card to him. No one else in the elevator was questioned. The hotel is also old and dirty, any service takes over an hour and literally half the light fixtures do not work. Horrible place to stay.

Yelp
* at least they have heavy terry robes and decent toiletries ( And or they did) unless that's changed since covid - so many things have. From air travel to hotels - corp chains etc.~ have found a way to cheapen the experience. I will say without disparaging the hotel further , the location couldn't be better Across the ave from the Tuileries, and 5 min walk - from Pl. de Concorde & pl. Vendome as well as the Louvre.

Yelp
Stayed Sept 2022. 5 nights in one of the top floor suites. Pros: location is walking distance to Tuileries Garden and Musee d Orsay, LV, Chanel, Dior, landmarks like the Place Concorde, Place Vendome ( many luxury stores), Lourve museum and many other shopping stores. On site courtyard restaurant called La Terrasse de Ete and other indoor restaurants Le First ( breakfast service is here). Had a nice welcome note and gift in the room on arrival with macarans and French bottled juices. Suite had a separate walk in his and hers closet with mirrors. An open concept larger room with couch ( pullout which we didn't use), a little table and sitting chair. A side desk, plenty of plugs, tv with a cabinet and minifridge that housed all minibar stuff so we couldn't use the refrigerator at all. Larger than normal King sized bed which was awesome. 2 french door opening windows out to the courtyard roof view which gave us fresh air. Large ( huge deep) soaking bath tub with rain head shower, single sink, separate toilet and bidet room. Nice thick white robes but thin worn out towels. Nice French shower gel, shampoo, conditioner with little qtips, cotton pads and nailfile kit. Nice hot water so took Some nice bath soaks ( they gave us bath salts so that was a nice touch) Overall the room was fine, the furniture is worn out and needs repair, the room needs new carpet. They did provide 2 pairs of slippers. I called room service to request a hot water kettle which was key. The weather had just turned a bit chilly so never used the A/C. Front desk associate Tonia was great! Cons: I stayed there 5 nights. Each day and afternoon and night left and entered thru the same entrance, the only entrance and the doormen ( all men) never greeted me, smiled or even attempted to be helpful. I have never experience such a lack of service or friendliness at a Westin. I'm an American visiting a very touristy hotel. I always said hello or Bonjour or smiled and only then would I get a return greeting. Is it cultural? Or just this hotel? The breakfast included with Elite Platinum status is on the ground floor restaurant called Le First. Staff are friendly but no one ever explained that included with the buffet was made to order items from the kitchen and there are no menus or signage! Makes me think ordering an omelette is a huge chore for them. I only caught on when another table ordered eggs benedict. Staff could ask you, "is this your first time dining with us?" And try to explain the menu or place a sign. All in all good breakfast options and fruit and a coffee machine making lattes and cappuccinos etc. We had a dinner at Le Terrasse and had good onion soup, steak and service. The roasted chicken was bland but the veggies it came with were good. Overall I would rate 4.5/5 and would stay here again!

Yelp
The prime location itself is 5 stars, but our stay here was lackluster, especially for the price point. Pros: + The location was AMAZING... you're literally steps/blocks/a few minutes away from luxury goods shopping (including the Champs-Elysées!), The Louvre, Tuilerie Gardens, and many other landmarks) + The concierge for checking in/out was very friendly and provided us a map of the general area around the Westin, including a running path + We were provided with a welcome gift of fresh fruit which was a nice gesture + Housekeeping was the real MVP and organized all of my shopping bags for me (nothing was misplaced!) that I left all over the place Cons: - We booked a junior suite (unfortunately, no complimentary upgrade this time!) and it definitely wasn't a refurbished room as other reviewers have mentioned... I should've just upgraded to the Eiffel Tower view because our view was of the terrace restaurant in the middle of the hotel so we heard tons of clinking glasses/plates and conversations throughout our stay since the windows weren't soundproof - The queen sized mattress was uncomfortably hard - We heard a lot of noise from the hallways throughout the evening due to the thin walls - The bathroom was cramped and the shower head was on the shorter side (I'm only 5'7" so that's saying something) - The doormen weren't very helpful when we were trying to get a cab to leave for the airport and we had to hail our own The location was the best part of our stay here, but I'll definitely look into more modern/updated accommodations the next time I'm in Paris.

Shannon G.

Yelp
I've been sitting here for 20 minutes. A group of men came in after I did and they waited on them. Got them drinks and their food. Didn't even acknowledge my existence. Absolutely absurd. I just want a dang soda. Lol

Yelp
We loved our stay , big room with big bed , nice present on our bed , we was ery surprise , amazing breakfast and lovely staff , great location

Yelp
Nice hotel. Amazing location. For $650 a night I think it's an ok deal. We got breakfast with our room. Pastries were just delivered.

Yelp
My husband and I ate at Vendome a few times....Oh my goodness, the food was so fresh and tasty! How they made the meals so delicious, I don't know but am grateful for their art! The service was just as wonderful! Thank you for having a part in making my husband and my trip so amazing!

A T.

Yelp
While the location is excellent this hotel is in need of basic upgrading and better housekeeping The housekeeper threw away my grey travel pillow and did not offer to replace or even offer an explanation as they could not call her to question her or find it anywhere There are mistakes in my billing that has not been resolved as i was charged for multiple bar items that i disputed upon checkout but remains on my bill I have been charged incorrectly for three of five nights that was to be taken care of the wedding block Aslin/Green dec 2-4, 2023 that I was a part of but they ignored completely even as I pointed out upon departing but their computer was not turned on during our early morning departure but i was assured would be adjusted as well as the bar tab but now has been totally ignored so overall this has left a bad impression This hotel while rated highly does not compare with my previous other stays at Le Meurice, Le Bristol or Carillon On a positive note the concierge team was very helpful during our stay I would request a contact from the manager after this review to correct the issues above Thank you

Keith K.

Yelp
We stayed in the room 4 nights without our shampoo bottle being filled. There is mold like stuff in the bathtub corners. The carpet on our floor(4th) smelled very musty. The exercise room equipment needed repair and service. Some of the cardio equipment does not work at all and others not functioning properly and in need of service or replacement. It is very out dated for the price we paid for the room it falls way below expectations and what we have experienced with Westins in other places.

Yelp
Amazing hotel in plaza Vendôme. Impeccable service and 5 star amenities. Would not stay anywhere else in Paris.

Yelp
Incredible hotel, GREAT location, and great front desk personnel. The service here is incredible. The room service was great - very good food. We walked everywhere from this hotel. The location cannot be beat. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel staff. They are exceptional!

Yelp
Room was very small there seems to be electrical issues with the lights. I had to turn sideways to walk into the bathroom. Request refund to move from GM and was denied.

Yelp
Horrible experience Laurent at the reception gave us the worst room possible - we booked a SUPERIOR ROOM at this hotel Tier 7 from my $60,000 points @Bonvoy SPG account DONT EVER COME HERE.... I am Gold Member and thought it would be nice to stay at this "nice" hotel Don't bother service non existent - the reception laughed at us and said it WAS THE LAST ROOM? We stay always at the best hotels around the world think twice about coming to this hotel it's awful!! Our room was facing the garbage and where woken up first by construction at 6:25 am and then by the garbage removal!!! We arrived too late 3:00 am so we where exhausted Marriott should remove this hotel for redemption of points!!!! This property is awful!!! AWFUL!!!!! The room was so small we could not open our suitcases! Horrible terrible

Yelp
Fantastic location. This puts you literally right in the middle of Paris, and the location couldn't be more beautiful. You're right across from the tuilerie gardens and the louvre, and central to the opera house, champs elysee, musee d'orsay, place de la condorde (forgive all my anglicized french here). All the stuff that you do when in Paris. And being right on a park even though you are smack in the middle of Paris, it manages to feel not at all congested or cramped. The rooms are super nice and the staff - So friendly. Shatter all the stereotypes that French people are awful (sorry French people... It's just something a lot of Americans believe... And we're scared of you. Honestly I'm jealous). Bonus on top of this, I misplaced my phone the day before leaving france... they kept it and mailed it back to me. Life savers. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Recently Stayed at the Westin Paris - Vendome. Although the hotel is in a terrific location, (close to the Eiffel Tower, Restaurants and Shopping) it is badly is need of a renovation. The rooms are very tired and dated, the bathrooms are out dated, the shower drain kept clogging up, the elevators did not work properly, the overall feel of the property feels very old and outdated. For $600-700 euros per night I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Yelp
Literally the best hotel stay we've had. We were upgraded to what seemed like a palace since the regular suites were out for our stay. We seriously felt like royals. Walk in closets, a huge living area, two bathrooms. There was a frickin sauna in one of our bathrooms!!!!! Seriously, who needs to go to the Louvre when you have all these amazing paintings in your room. Views of eiffel tower from the patio. The hotel itself is beautiful and elegant. It is classy and also a short walk to the original Chanel!!!!!!!! Priorities, people. priorities. The staff is all very nice and helpful. The rooms are cleaned wonderfully. There is also always an uber or taxi nearby. You can walk to the louvre, you get a beautiful view of the Jardin Tuileries. If you are a platinum member, the free breakfast buffet is actually pretty decent. We managed to eat it one day just to try it out, even though there is so much good food to be had in the rest of Paris!

Yelp
If you are considering this hotel RUN don't walk! Our Suite is tired and old and musty and expensive and incredibly outdated. In fact this is Most Definitely not worth what we paid for nor the bang for the buck. The views of the Eiffel Tower are great BUT that's about it. The single most redeeming factor Is the view. Period. The hotel also neglected to inform us at check in or prior that the daily carnival which is occurring throughout July/August is exceedingly loud and happening right outside our hotel balcony and operates until 1:00 am. They informed us that the carnival is "mentioned" on their website. Ha! Their description in no way describes the reality of this awful horrible noisy situation. I have had NUMEROUS correspondence with the concerige over the past few weeks and at no time whatsoever did they bother to inform us of the dreadful noise right outside our immediate window. Our vacation is ruined by this. There is no evening turndown service. So if you need fresh towels - or a room refresh later in the evening - forget about it. All for the bargain price of $800/night!!! Yes - $800 per night. When we reached out to the general manager to respectfully talk through theses issues he refused to talk with us. Rather, were told he is gone until Monday but he would offer up a free breakfast as a gesture of good will. Um ... really??? We are paying $800 per night for two rooms (each) but only one has a balcony with a view despite the fact that we are paying for both as well as the assurance of a balcony room as depicted in our confirmation emails. This clearly falls short of the Marriott Brand that we are accustomed to as a long standing Bonvoy brand loyal customer. Furthermore - this GM and its front office staff appears to be more concerned about the profits rather than customer satisfaction . Bitterly disappointed in the hotel - its front office/reception staff - the GM - the room. If you are remotely thinking of staying here or perhaps having a meeting or conference - please reconsider. #rundontwalk

Yelp
From the first minute I walked in my room, I got a phone call for a noise complaint. Let a person live. For a hotel this caliber, I would expect better service for human behavior and flexibility. Overreactive is what this hotel is. Even as an Ambassador Bonvoy. Loyalty does not matter here.

Yelp
Solid hotel choice but here are some things to be aware of: +friendly staff that is bilingual +nice omelet bar at the breakfast buffet although no ketchup haha ++very close to a lot of cool things- louvre, seine, Eiffel Tower, a row of restaurants, macarons, etc -luggage/service - they told us they would move our luggage to our room since we stored it downstairs while we were waiting for the room to open up but it took an hour. Tried to call downstairs but the phone was broken. We finally called using a cellphone and that's when our luggage finally came. Also mentioned the broken phone too and were told someone would come but nobody did so we had to remind them again when we were downstairs - - my biggest pet peeve at this hotel: we got a room with a "king size" bed but quickly realized it was actually two double twins pushed together. At first I didn't mind but the beds were actually slightly different heights and the crack in between was pretty uncomfortable so I was really disappointed

Yelp
We really enjoyed staying at this location and particularly this hotel. Staffs were nice and surprised us with a bottle of champagne after we told we were in town to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The reason why I'm giving four stars instead of five is because our bed sheets weren't changed everyday. We stayed for 8 nights in total. I noticed room was cleaned everyday but was able to tell for few nights of no change in bed sheets. My 5 year old had left a small chocolate stain in the corner so I was able to tell. For one time I told the concierge but on the second time, I didn't. Second time was on our maybe 7th night or something. Definitely location was very convenient. Most of touristy places were in walkable distance. We were there in October and weather was really nice. I don't know how hot it gets in summer but fall weather was perfect for us to walk around. Considering what we experienced in Paris, I'm not sure if I'll go back but if we do, I can see myself staying here again. Our backpack was stolen around Eiffel Tower area so if you are planning a trip to Paris I suggest that you be careful at all time.

Yelp
Loved everything about my stay at the hotel, whether it were the rooms, overall ambiance, service or the meals. I also enjoyed their bar which is perfect for night drinks and a relaxed glass of wine. The location of the hotel close to Louvre is just perfect. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Happy Birthday to me!! Got to experience my Virgo Birthday vibes in my favorite chain of hotels!! My sister surprised me with reservations here for our last two nights in Paris to my delight!! Everybody who knows me knows I am loyal. The Westin is an amazing chain of hotels and I have never had a bad experience since I have been vacationing with them. The room was small yet cozy! The bathroom was super clean and the water pressure in the shower was amazing! It had a tub if you want to soak your feet after walking miles and miles around Paris. The water gets super hot which is so amazing. We had twin beds and the beds were so cozy and comfortable. Room service was great and responded quickly. Our sandwiches and french fries were delicious and fresh. They do have channels in both French and English but if you're in Paris you aren't really going to be watching a lot of television. Staff is very nice and professional! We were very comfortable with our belongings and passport being left in the room. Wifi was free for us and worked great. The lobby is beautiful and they have a huge mirror in the hallway that is great for selfies (priorities). I loved our stay!! Next year I will be staying here exclusively!! Thank you Westin for being amazing as always!!!!

Yelp
This is not 4 star hotel for sure. From the front gate, there are two guys standing but busy talking to each other and not greeting guests. The front lobby is very small and front main door was hard to find. Coffee machine often requires maintenance and not available. Upon check in, I went into shower to find out no shower soap/gel. The container was empty. Room cleaning is usually done around 5pm and maintenance guy randomly shows up and insists on checking the frig two days after we checked in saying previous guests must have drank some. Elevator was out of service. Tried to use stairs following exit sign and every door had locks and our key wouldn't work. Will not return for sure.

Yelp
Attended a gala once night and the space was beautiful. The food was average. Nice scallops, compte and pear caramel dessert. Unfortunately the entree was a steak which wlhad a rubbery texture. Wines were delicious.

Yelp
We have never been to a five star hotel before that had so many problems and issues come up. The hotel though does probably have the best location in Paris. Right near the Louvre and across from Tuileries Garden. We could even see the garden gates from our breakfast table. We were pleased that our rooms were ready when we checked in prior the appointed check in hour. The rooms though were small and not very well sound proofed. Yes, one night we all heard a couple really enjoying their time in Paris. Another night we heard a rockin' Bar Mitzvah going until the wee hours. We had two rooms with a connecting door. Unfortunately one of the rooms was to made with two beds but they made it as one. Took quite a while for housekeeping to come and make it right. Turn down service was spotty. Of our six night stay I think we got turn down about half the time. Breakfast was included with our rooms. It was a buffet breakfast with an omelette bar. Selection was really only so so. The main problem with the buffet though was they had almost no fresh fruit. If you came early enough there were some apples and bananas but they ran out pretty early on. That is pretty inexcusable. Plus we went in the spring during berry season; they should have been able to put some more interesting fresh fruit choices out. One of the phones in one of the rooms was out of order. The maintenance man who came to fix it was very nice but it took him forever to decide to just replace the whole unit. I will say they were very responsive to our complaints and did what they could to solve the problems but really there never should have been so many!

Yelp
The location is great with an awesome view of the Eiffel Tower. However, we are platinum elite Bonvoy members and the service here is not on par with the level expected of a 5 star hotel - we are extremely disappointed with our experience and will definitely not be returning. I recommend you find another 5 star hotel in this area that actually delivers on quality service. As we were packing up to check-out, a cleaning woman came in to check the mini bar. I told her we had put food in the fridge, so the electronic system may have registered that we drank something when things shifted in the fridge (we did not) - I showed her the full, unopened bottles to confirm this. She proceeded to rudely tell me she had to charge us for what the system says was used, even after I had already explained and showed her the full, unopened bottles. She proceeded to get angry and yell at me (in my own room) that these were the rules and I'd have to take it up with management. She completely humiliated me, and insinuated I was lying about our use of the mini bar (which was clearly all unused, right in front of her). As a result, we had to stay an additional hour with the concierge to settle/fix the mishap, and missed an event we were scheduled to attend. Ridiculous.

Yelp
Hotel hosted a party in their event center. Extremely loud music playing till after midnight. The front desk said it would stop at 1AM. So their paying guests just had to accept it. Rude!

Yelp
Fantastic location and very attractive hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They even brought champagne and some small gifts for my birthday!

Yelp
Impressive at the outside entrance and when you first walk in. The courtyard cafe is cute at first glance but really kind of hokey - fake animals, bamboo, plants - a badly done pretend jungle. Our room was on the first floor (one floor up from ground). The hallway leading to it looked a little dingy and smelled very musty. There were three of us women. We had booked one room through a travel agent and told we would have 2 queen beds. No, our room had 2 single beds. We were not allowed to switch but another single bed was squeezed into our room. Our room overlooked the terrace cafe. It's open quite late and was pretty noisy every night. We had booked the continental breakfast for each morning. Highly recommend this! Well worth the cost and convenience. Really the only positive thing to say about this hotel is its location. Perfectly walkable to cafes, restaurants, the Louvre, Tuileries Garden, and the Seine. Probably wouldn't stay here again. There are many other hotels in this area.

Yelp
This hotel was fabulous!! It wasn't badly priced either. Location is everything!!! A block away from Concord Plaza, a few blocks from the Louvre, down the way from Champs Elysses. Just fabulous!!! The staff is so incredible! They really cater to the guests. I was there for my birthday and the bellman, Henri, arranged for me to receive a gift from the hotel. They were so nice!!! I hope to return

Yelp
Great location, close to all shopping and museums. Typical large hotel, slightly dated. Nothing extraordinary. Nice breakfast spread. Nothing fancy but definitely better than most - so very much 4 star.

Yelp
It is hard to not give them 5 stars. Management is top notch, we had some medical issues and they were extremely helpful, understanding and accommodating. Checking in was impeccable and we were offered a gorgeous room that albeit small had a fantastic view and balcony that overlooked both the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower on each side. That said, the cleanliness lacked from a dirty soap on the floor to broken glass from a previous guest. The courtyard resto is to experience but don't expect to be blown away. Location is hard to describe. Right in the middle of all, art, shops, top notch restaurants and as such it is missing the normality of life. It feels more like a financial district.
