"From the porte-cochère entry at the Westin Puntacana Resort & Club, you’ll catch an inviting first glimpse of coconut palms, manicured grass, and a long swimming pool that seems to end at the sea. The view only gets better upstairs, where all 200 rooms—including 16 suites—offer swoon-worthy ocean vistas. On the hottest of days, the high-ceilinged, open-air lobby is a great place to hang with a cold one while catching the ocean breezes. When it’s cooler, have lunch by the pool or at the beachside La Palapa, and plan for dinner at the open-air Brassa. As a guest at the Westin, you also have access to Puntacana Resort & Club’s eight restaurants, two golf courses, tennis center, Six Senses Spa, aquatic center, and Grupo Puntacana Foundation activities."

Like many others, we stayed here one night because of a cancelled flight. Check in was relatively easy. We were told we would have a 200.00 credit on our room, which never happened. Couldn’t find anyone to help with luggage or show us where our room was so we just went on our own. The grounds are beautiful and the bed was comfortable. The room was average at best but clean. I personally would not stay here again because the prices of food and drinks, random fees, added gratuities and taxes sure do add up. We were there less than 24 hours, ate 2 meals, had 8 waters and paid 739.00. I tried calling 3 times to see if they could add on a few hours because of more flight delays the next day and could not get anyone to help (they were too busy to help me, so they said). They also didn’t inform us that they had free shuttle service to the airport so that was an extra 20.00. I do have to say the food we ate was good, not great but good. We were at another resort that was all inclusive for 10 days prior and the food was much better, the room was 100 times nicer and we certainly got so much more for our money. Sadly I think they could do better and it’s not a place I would return to.

I mean, outside of the bed - which everyone knows is amazing- this was the perfect resort. Clean, calm, quiet, impeccable service and location - this Westin had it all! The pool was wonderful. The beach was the best I've seen in PC and they make a REAL effort to clean it daily to avoid too much seaweed / sargassum. The service was truly unparalleled, with friendly and kind assistance from the porter to the manager. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone - even the breakfast buffet had great service and wonderful food. The only piece with room for improvement were the on-sute restaurants (the steakhouse and the Asian fusion) but I won't let them pull down my review :)

Nice and quiet location with excellent staff. Restaurants on property are really good and you can eat for reasonable prices but you can also splurge if you choose to do so. Juan Gonzalez was our beach waiter and he was fantastic. He shared some Dominican recipes with us and we shared some staples from our hometown. Can’t say enough great things about Juan. Great guy!

Overall, a quiet yet dated hotel that is part of a larger resort area. The good: staff is very nice and friendly, location is easy to get to since very close to airport, rooms are spacious (but bland and dated), restaurants are pricey but pretty good food (all except breakfast). The bad: almost none of the rooms are truly ocean facing. They all face the pool; the ocean is beyond that and hard to see from any of the rooms. The hotel is very small and you need to take a shuttle to get to the other areas like spa, golf, tennis - those are not on the property. There is no small stand or mart place to get coffee or snacks. The hotel has a dated, dull look and could use upgrades. Rooms are ok, but nothing great - had broken fixtures, ran out of soap, leaks in lobby and holiday gingerbread house display was covered in flies. Overall, would definitely not stay again.

Our family had an amazing experience here, we can’t wait to go back! The pictures don’t do the beach or resort justice. The staff were above and beyond, so helpful and friendly. The pool was great for kids and we loved the options for food. We won’t stay anywhere else in the DR.

Hotel in a great location , awesome beach. Rooms are starting to be a bit dated, and the service , like in most of the Dominican, is always hit and miss. Some staff are great, some are just really slow, bordering on incompetent. Check-in was a breeze. Overall would stay again for sure, especially if you want to spend most of the time at the beach!

We were renting a villa in Punta Cana Resort through AirBnb and last night around 12:30 am (our 2nd night there) one of the outlets started sparking and smoking (electrical fire smell). We were advised by the resort security to vacate the premises because it was not safe. We went over to the Westin and Eddy helped us find three rooms. We then had issues with the golf cart we rented from the owner of the villa and Eddy came and got us from the house at 3:00 am. This morning Pedro also went above and beyond by going to the villa we stayed in and picking up sneakers we left behind. The room was very nice as are the facilities and all the staff. We had breakfast here this morning and lunch here at the hotel yesterday and hung out at the beach which is also beautiful. Oh, and we ate at Bao and Brassa each of the two nights in Punta Cana. Both were wonderful!!

I really wanted to love my stay at the Westin Punta Cana, and the beautiful location almost made up for everything - but I need to share a deeply disappointing experience that shows a shocking lack of professional service at this property. Here's what happened: I was staying in Room 204 when housekeeping threw away my prescription dental retainers (both upper and lower) that I had placed on a tissue paper near the bedside table to dry after cleaning. Let that sink in - a medical device worth $700 was simply tossed out without any checking. I keep thinking - what if it had been jewelry or something even more valuable? The lack of basic checking before throwing away items from a guest room is truly concerning for a hotel of this caliber. What's even more frustrating is how they handled the situation afterward. When I reported the incident to their staff members, I was told that Front Desk Manager Kasandra Reyes and her manager Jordy Figols were reviewing the case and will file an insurance claim. And that's where the professional service completely broke down. I sent a detailed email requesting basic information about the insurance claim (claim number, company name, contact details) and Westin's corporate email. Despite following up multiple times both in person and via email, I received absolutely nothing but silence. Kasandra personally assured me she would provide these details - yet here we are, still waiting! To add insult to injury, they also failed to apply a promised $100 spa credit ($50 x 2) to our bill. When we followed up about this, guess what? More silence. What's particularly frustrating about this whole situation is: 1. The careless handling of personal property by housekeeping 2. The empty promises about an insurance claim 3. The complete breakdown in communication after the incident 4. The failure to honor promised credits 5. Most importantly, the total lack of any meaningful response to multiple follow-up attempts I have shared all the documentation - the dental office receipt, credit card statement for the replacement retainers - everything they would need to resolve this situation. Yet they've chosen to simply ignore a legitimate complaint from a paying guest. ❗ For anyone considering staying at the Westin Punta Cana: Yes, the location is beautiful, and the facilities are nice. But ask yourself - do you want to stay at a place where your belongings might be carelessly discarded and any resulting issues will be met with silence? A hotel's true character shows not when things go right, but in how they handle their mistakes. In this case, the Westin Punta Cana has failed spectacularly at the most basic level of customer service. ❗
