"Hugging the golden crescent of Playa Conchal on Costa Rica’s northern Pacific Coast, the 2,400-acre Westin Playa Conchal is an all-inclusive (Westin’s only one) that has put great care into navigating the needs of both families and guests who prefer a more peaceful experience. A kid-friendly club features designated suites, all-day assistance of a “family concierge,” and exclusive activities, while the adults-only Royal Beach Club is almost a resort-within-a-resort, with its own lounge and private pool. Both have access to the greater resort, including the huge lagoon-style pool with swim-up bar, Jacuzzi, 10 restaurants and five bars, and the fitness club. All of the rooms and suites have balconies or terraces, and the Royal Beach Club suites also have a large outdoor tub. Guests also have access to the par-71 golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr."

Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal | Condé Nast Traveler

"The Westin Golf Resort & Spa at Playa Conchal sports a pretty good setup for a week of all-inclusive goodness. There’s a Gilligan’s Island vibe here—a tropical oasis buried beneath acres of dense foliage—and it wouldn’t be quite the disaster if we couldn't leave. The Costa Rican resort, hitched up on the country’s North Pacific Riviera, sits amid a swarm of national parks and wildlife refuges, adjacent to an 18-hole golf course—so you'll have plenty to do if you’re feeling adventurous. We won’t judge, though, if you decide to stay local and work on your swing instead. The activities desk is the fairy godmother of the place, dishing out options like tequila tastings, dance lessons, and Tai Chi classes, or helping to set up a friendly—okay, a little competitive—game of beach volleyball. Again, this is an all-inclusive deal, so we suggest hitting up as many of the 12 restaurants as you can muster, though we like La Sabana, in particular. It’s a place with more local flavor, serving up traditionally Costa Rican rodizio under a thatched roof, to the beat of local tunes—so seize the fire-roasted meat-on-a-stick while the night's still young. The wood-fired oven pizzas at Spirula Pizza Bar, incarnated in both sweet and savory combinations, are worth an investigation (and a big 'ole bite). Our favorite feature, though, is the swim-up Triton Pool Bar at the main lagoon-style pool—you can’t beat guzzling a rum and coke in near zero-gravity conditions."

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the Westin Reserva Conchal last week. The resort was absolutely beautiful lush, vibrant grounds full of wildlife roaming around freely made it feel like a tropical oasis. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, providing exceptional service throughout our stay. |One of the true highlights was the massage experience with the “Blue Team” right on the beach. Sammy and Lady were exceptional! |The ladies were incredibly kind and gave some of the best massages we’ve ever had. Truly a relaxing and memorable vacation.

Example !!!!!!!!!!!|Title : amazing vacation||We enjoyed our annual family vacation at the Westin Reserva for eight days in July and I have to say the property grounds and staff services were amazing. Every signal staff member went out of their way to insure our experience was first class and they succeeded. The rooms are perfect size and extremely comfortable & clean. excellent, people friendly and rooms were clean . The on-site restaurants are all extremely good and the pool was also great. We are at some of th restaurants where food was amazing. There are many free activities to choose from and the staff can offer many excursion options. ||Walking to the beach we met a guy in a blue shirt who’s name was Erik G and he had a (blue shirt and name on his hat), he arranged a waterfall cave hike & lunch with transportation that ended up being one of the highlights of our trip and the communication was great which made us feel very comfortable about everything. As mentioned the resort has many things to offer including daily activities every day and all day long so you can’t go wrong with the Westin!

The Westin in Costa Rica is an outstanding property from start to finish. To upgrade to the premium package is only $35 a day and they did it for free for us along with upgrading our room. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, the food is outstanding and very fresh. For those reviews complaining about the food, it not being good or cultural, I’m not sure what the heck they were talking about! My only wish is I would have liked to see a better bar selection, especially the premium liquors. The beach is gorgeous and yes there are vendors but they are very friendly and only trying to provide for their families. The rooms are very modern, private and spacious. Housekeeping did an excellent job made our room feel clean and welcoming daily. The pools are like bath water and never get too crowded. The gym is top tier with a ton of great equipment and free weights. My wife had a massage and said they went above and beyond exceeding her expectations and also gave her well over the paid for time. 5/5 for this resort!

Stayed here for our honeymoon at the beginning of June 2025. Room was nice, wasn't superb but was nice - clean, well maintained and the bed was super comfortable! 👏 The food was great all over including the buffet and restaurants but keep in mind you can't make reservations anymore so go early or go late for best results. There's definitely something for everyone here to eat - we loved the to-go pizza spot and the avocado pizza 😋 The staff was nice, didn't approach us much or go out of their way, but we were overall impressed with the resort. We did go at the beginning of the rainy season so we did have quite a bit of rain, if you choose to do the same be ready to wait up early and hit the pool/ beach and be inside by like 1pm ha. Also! 👀 Beach side massages are $40/hr and don't be afraid to try it! We visited the purple tent and it was cash only but one of the best massages we've ever had. If were able to come back to CR we'll be back to this resort Cat cafe is right outside the resort and is a must see if you love kitties! Fun, good cause, close by and inexpensive

We were lucky enough to get beautiful weather during our stay at The Westin this past week. Some of the things that stood out with our Westin experience were: well-organized staff/operations, incredible customer service, amenities, and variety of food offerings. There was something for everyone in our family. Here are some of the wonderful people and experiences that were memorable: |* Activities Team (Samuel, Eduardo, Roger) were fun, knowledgeable and made sure everyone participated|* Restaurant/Food Team: Tanya (Mgr) was everywhere and ensured guests and fellow teammates were attended to. She provided warm greetings and her leadership skills speaks for itself. Gabriel & Franklin (Hosts at Cauri) were very attentive and created a wonderful dining experience. Victor, Naisie, Altiris (Wait staff from Cauri and Caracola) provided top-notch service and were awesome to our family (answering questions, cuisine recommendations). Luis (Chef/Prep at Mitra) is incredible. He provided rapid response and helped us with getting fresh fruit when we inquired. Alonzo (Host at Bamboo) is another rock-star as he was very professional and assisted everyone with their inquiries about the wait times and dining expectations as the restaurant was smaller (which is challenging for larger parties) compared to the other places on the property and served on a first-come basis. |* Shuttle: Randy (driver) was very personable and friendly. Great customer service and made sure your experience at the Westin was a great one.|There were some minor issues with internet going out and A/C noise but the Front Desk/Maintenance were responsive and fixed the issues pretty quickly. As you can see from our experience, the people at the Westin made our first time visiting Costa Rica a very memorable one that we highly recommend. Pura Vida!

Impressive resort with beautiful, luxurious accommodations, and great all inclusive dinning selections. My family and I believe the staff throughout the property was the most friendly, respectful and eager to help staff anywhere in the world… The Conchal beach off the Westin resort is probably one of the top beaches in the world if not the best of all. Highly recommended Would love to do it again

We were here on a family vacation with three generations: grandparents, adult children, and 9-year old grandchild. This resort was great for all three generations with plenty to do, relaxing time, good meals, and fun activities and entertainment. And lots of wildlife: monkeys, iguanas, cute coatis, and lots of birds.||Would especially recommend:|| - the pool which was enjoyable all day long, with music, ongoing sports, and we all especially liked participating in the water aerobics classes which were a lot of fun.|| - we all (even the 9-year old) loved massages by the ladies in the blue tent to the left of the beach entrance from the resort: Sammy, the Lady in Blue, and two Lindas. A terrific 1-hour massage for $40 - outside where you could enjoy the sound of the waves. We loved this so much that most of us had three massages during our week stay.|| - highly recommend the Caracola Poolside restaurant for lunch: near the pool, lots of great choices and the very best ceviche and burgers. This restaurant is called La Sabana in the evening and specializes in steaks.||- liked the music and the nighttime shows at Mitra Market -- magic show and fire show. ||- The beach was lovely and the sunset there was gorgeous! Early - about 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. in July.||- The staff was terrific, always friendly and helpful! The cart rides around the property were delightful or you could take a leisurely walk.

This is a beautiful property. The best part of this property is definitely the staff. They are top notch, so welcoming, accommodating and kind. I can not praise Emanuel B. and Steven in the family portion of the resort enough. They both made us feel just like family! They were very kind and attentive, they went above and beyond on multiple occasions. Julia in the family pool is also a great asset, she really stepped up to help us when Emanuel was unexpectedly not there. The food and atmosphere were great at all the restaurants. This is a very large property and they do an excellent job with golf cart shuttles available all the time to help you get from one portion to the other. The property is very well kept and clean. We had a large family there, 11 people and 4 rooms. The resort went to great lengths to ensure our eldest family member/Abuela was moved to a room closer to the rest of us while the hotel was essentially completely booked. The staff went above and beyond the rest of the trip to take good care of her and ensure her safety. The location is beautiful with great beach access. If you are wanting to do inland excursions be prepared and expect a 2-3 hour drive to get there. Clearly this is of no fault of the property it is a beautiful beach location.
