The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler

"If the Westin Resort and Spa at Whistler is good enough for Olympic athletes, then it’s good enough for us. The perks of this winter retreat, which played host to the 2010 Winter Olympics, aren’t hard to parse: It's at the base of the mountain, right up against the gondola, and sits conveniently dead-center of buzzy Whistler Village, where the après-ski scene is one for the books (grab a sub-zero glass of the hard stuff at Bearfoot Bistro’s Ketel One Ice Room, and thank us in the morning). The stone-faced resort is enormous—a cavernous cluster of clean, crisp rooms piled up high on a mountain—but it doesn’t sacrifice service or style for size. Winter may be peak season here, though there’s plenty to do when the temperatures rise. Not only does the retreat sport a golf course and pool, but warm-weather activities like ATVing, RZRing, multi-day hikes, and ziplining through the woods (and a spa, if you'd rather sit out the sweat session) make it a good alternative to more conventional, crowded beach locales. Book it here in early fall, and you’ll catch the annual beer festival."

Excellent location, great service, and all the comforts you need The Westin Resort & Spa in Whistler is perfectly located right in the heart of the Village—everything is within walking distance, from restaurants to lifts and trails. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the check-in process was quick and easy. While the rooms are a bit dated in terms of design, they’re clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a studio suite, which featured a cozy balcony and a well-stocked kitchen—perfect for preparing a few meals during our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable too. The hotel’s amenities are a highlight: the indoor-outdoor pool is great for families, and the hot tub, sauna, and gym offer plenty of ways to unwind and recharge. Parking is convenient (right on-site), though understandably on the pricier side for the area. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend The Westin for anyone visiting Whistler—especially for those looking for comfort, location, and great service.

All 5 stars for our stay as a family in this beautiful hotel inside the Whistler village. From the beginning the service was great! We got upgraded to a suit on the 5th floor. It has everything we needed to stay comfortably with a toddler. The clean and comfortable room made our stay perfect. From the front desk you can ask for suggestions to explore the village and surrounding area. We mostly stayed outside during the day, however, the hotel is in a reasonable distance from many shops and places around the village. We visited during the summer hence there were plenty of parking spots and not too crowded. The view from the room was amazing, as we requested we got the mountain view!

We stayed at the Westin Whistler over the Canada Day long weekend in a one bedroom suite for two nights, and everything from start to finish was truly amazing. Check-in was smooth, and the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Our suite was clean and spacious, equipped with a small kitchenette and a full-size fridge. We took a dip in the pool with our son and really enjoyed the large swim-in/swim-out feature. There were also several hot tubs to choose from, adding to the relaxing vibe. Each morning, we enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which offered great variety and attentive service. One of the best aspects of the hotel is its location, right in the heart of the village Highly recommend for a comfortable and memorable stay in Whistler.

The staff were incredibly warm and professional, making my stay truly memorable. Since it was my birthday, they went the extra mile and upgraded my room to one with a beautiful balcony and private patio, which was such a thoughtful surprise. Joshua at the concierge desk was exceptionally helpful, always ready with a smile and great recommendations. The valet team was also fantastic—efficient, friendly, and made everything seamless. Overall, the service exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be returning to this hotel for my next stay—it felt like a home away from home.

Staff are amazing. Room got upgraded & both the room & views were amazing. I was flushed upon arrival & given a cool bottle of water. Plenty of bottled water inside rooms & given on departure. Incredible service. Was ill when my room was serviced & later a pot of Camomile tea was delivered to me.|Location is amazing as you are right near the Whistler Mountain Gondola as well as the village. Had the best time. The staff really made me feel special & really took great care of me. Highly recommended staying here. Definitely one of, if not the best place I have ever stayed in all my world travels.

Just spent a night at this hotel and was very happy with the experience. From the time of arrival when the valet parking team gave us direction on where to park while we checked in, it was a good experience. They were very friendly and polite. The person that checked us in was also really friendly and recognized out platinum status with an upgraded room to a suite. The location is perfect for walking the village. The best part was the buffet breakfast that was our platinum welcome benefit. Our server, Alice, was absolutely the highlight. She went above and beyond. Her service was friendly, fast and thoughtful. When we asked for a receipt so we could tip, she insisted that free breakfast should be free and said not to tip and just take our time and enjoy. She even gave us takeout cups for out coffee to go. The restaurant manager (assuming it was the manager) was also leading by example by helping wipe tables and checked in on us and brought extra oat milk over. We will definitely be staying here again.

I stayed at the Westin for two nights this June for a conference. I stayed here once before, but over 5 years ago when they were undergoing renovations. From what I recall, it only seemed the lobby was updated, as I didn't notice anything else as being changed.||Check-in was OK, but rushed. Staff was friendly enough, but even though it wasn't busy, she skipped a couple questions I would typically encounter. First, as a elite member, I would normally get asked what welcome gift I would want - points or free breakfast. She assumed I wanted points, because that's what I "selected" when I checked in - however - she didn't realize that when you check-in via the app, there is no choice. The app forces members to select points, and then on arrival, we need to ask what our other options. She also didn't ask about whether I needed parking. Additional note: this is a "Resort" so it doesn't provide the same benefits as other Westins, so be aware of that. I know this from my last visit, but worth pointing out as people do their research.||Room was fine. Large space, including kitchenette and small fridge/freezer. Fireplace. Comfortable bed. WiFi signal was strong. No complaints.||Free breakfast at the restaurant was problematic. Basically no service. No one to greet you or sit you down, no clear instructions on how to use the voucher, staff were clearing plates and tables before finishing. Food was average, but service made me rethink taking the points instead of the free breakfast.||The conference venue spaces were fine, except that at one point, the ceiling was leaking during a presentation. Food was fine. ||I didn't get a chance to use the gym or pool, but it looked nice.||Located in Whistler Village, it's close to plenty of good restaurants, as well as Whistler Village shopping and activities.||Overall, it was fine. It's a sort of higher end hotel with nice spaces and rooms. But the service level wasn't really up to expectations, and given the price, I think I would've been better off booking something cheaper. In fact, I stayed at the Delta one night after checking out, where it was cheaper and I felt more valued as a customer.

Stayed 1 night as part of a Rocky Mountaineer trip. Not sure how much service to attribute to RM v Westin but everything excellent. Smooth check in even though early. Efficient baggage handling. Good location. Everything wanted to see in village easily walkable. Room clean and very comfortable. Enjoyed fireplace

Yelp
Located at one end of the Village, this is in a nice quiet spot but still close to all the shops and restaurants. The ski lift and gondola is right out the door. So convenient to jump on the lifts and gondolas. I was greeted by the valet who kindly noted that we had a lot of luggage and offered to get the bellhop to assist us with our bags. I appreciated that extra effort. First impression, the mountain lodge vibe inside was super nice. There are two towers here. We got upgraded to a one bedroom suite in the east tower as we are Marriott Platinum elite members. Had originally booked a studio room. We ended up with a corner room with a view of the mountains and courtyard waterfall, and the balcony looked north towards the rest of the village. The room was cozy but was beautifully decorated and furnished appropriately. The room comes with a fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, etc. if you wanted to cook meals in your room. We did end up making some ramen for our kid when he got hungry later in the evening. The bathroom was beautifully updated and large with an actual soaking bathtub and glass stand up shower. It was nice to have a separate bedroom with a door that closed. Our kid used the pullout sofa. The swimming pool, gym, and hot tub was a nice treat at the end of the day. The pool was comfortably heated. It was nice to have a spot for the kids to play and expend some extra energy before and after dinner. Breakfast was provide downstairs and was included for us. You can order ala carte or enjoy the hot buffet items. One morning was french toast, the next had waffles. Eggs, bacon, fruit, and other standard buffet faire was available, including cereal and oatmeal. Thankfully we didn't hear too much noise at night as we were at the far end of the village. We've stayed at other hotels in middle of the village and the night life noise can definitely carry through your windows. All in all, great hotel and excellent service. I'd definitely come back here again!

Yelp
Been coming here since 2004 and have lost count of how many times I've stayed here, in generally would call it a 4.5 star experience but NOT this time! Can't beat the convenience being right at the base of Whistler. Park your car and everything you want is walking distance! The small rooms don't bother me, nor the older furnishings. The bellhop Dave has been here decades and is great! I had three rooms here this vacation NONE were ready at checkin and didn't become available till after dinner, WTF? The front reception had trainers and took forever to get checked in and multiple stations couldn't accept my credit card. Those were little things, but the inability to have rooms ready at checkin at international Westin resort is a management failure that needs fixing and why the three stars!!!! Oh one last thing the jacuzzi is disappointing warm, not hot, just warm... crazy given it is -10 outside. Guess if you are well insulated you may find it okay

Yelp
Absolutely stunning property with exceptional service. General Manager Grant took great care of us and his staff was 5*! We will definitely be back and won't be staying anywhere else. great food, beautiful amenities, spectacular views from our room and steps away from the main village!

Yelp
Walls are thin, but the hotel is beautiful. Great location with convenient parking first turnoff into the village. The check-in line was long, but the valet guys let us keep the car out front while we waited. The water infused with fruit in the lobby was refreshing, but the fruit was always clogging the spout! The gym, pool, steam room, and locker room were really nice. It was convenient not to have to bring a lock, and the spaces were very clean, with towels aplenty. The pool was adequately heated, and the hot tubs were large in size both inside and outside. Towels were actually appropriate in size for the pool, and the whole area was well designed. The restaurants and shops on the main village level were full of great options for food and shopping. It was only a little inconvenient that the parking elevator was not the same elevator as the main floor to the rooms.

Armand L.

Yelp
The check in was great, the location is good but when I changed after a long day to shower the wall body shower bottle was empty , the bathroom had missing tissues and I wondered what else they cut corners on cleanliness? For a Westin this is unacceptable! I called down to the reception and asked for it to be refilled in the morning since I was to tired, upset and late at night. Otherwise the room is great.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel located at the end of the village. It's connected to a number of shops and services as well as restaurants, all without needing to leave the property. There is easy access to ski lifts. I appreciated that they have amenities that are more family friendly and conducive to longer stays, such as stove, microwave, and refrigerator, as well as dishwasher. Suites come equipped with a fireplace that is controllable by thermostat. Hubby and I had a Mountain View room which was stunning. There is also a spa in the hotel where I enjoyed a much needed stress-relieving massage. The only critique I have was that the bathroom sink was slow to drain. We otherwise enjoyed a wonderful stay and would definitely be happy to return when back in Whistler for future visits.

Yelp
I recently stayed here for a work trip. I had a lovely time and recommend the Westin to anyone looking for solid accommodations in Whistler. It's easy to ski in and out of, and you have excellent access to the mountains- some rooms have awesome views of the mountains too. The purpose of our trip was to get out on the mountain, so I didn't spend that much time in my room. Here's what I did notice during the few hours I spent in it: the queen bed was super comfy, the fireplace was a nice touch, the bathroom was clean, and the cleaning crew did an excellent job- daily. It had a decently sized kitchen with a fridge, oven, stove, dishwasher, sink, and microwave. Somehow they managed to pack all of these features into the room while still creating a peaceful ambiance and not throwing off the feng shui. The breakfast options were great, and the hotel has a little mall, ski valet, and a spa. I didn't utilize the spa because I hate massages, and the idea of sitting with a bunch of other people in human soup (the hot tub) wasn't appealing- especially during spring break. Many of my co-workers loved it, though! Overall, my experience staying here was excellent. I found the staff to be accommodating and kind- they try to create the best customer experience possible, which is appreciated; the food was good, and the location can't be beat!

Yelp
Great Location but the suite was so tiny. 7ft ceilings no bueno. Room was dirty with snot tissues in the bedside drawers. Shower was like a coffin. Poor service ski rental employees did not want to help! Food & Drink cost were worse then California. BC has terribly high taxes!

Anthony S.

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel at least 20 times over the years. It has become incredibly run down with extremely poorly trained and motivated staff. The manager should shoulder most of the blame. He is an angry little man with a cheap, polyester suit that hasn't fit in twenty five pounds. The management company is clearly not reinvesting in staff or maintenance. Other than a great location there is no reason to stay at this property.

Yelp
When looking for a place to stay that was easy to ski-in/ ski-out, but also has a good location to the village the Westin in Whistler was one of a few choices I had to go to. I am an Amex Bonvoy member and since the pandemic began I had a lot of points to use so being a Marriott member the Westin was a no brainer to book with. We originally booked a studio suite with Queen bed and fireplace. To my gf and I the room wasn't too important since the main reason for going to Whistler was to get some laps in on the mountain but having a nice place to relax after a long day on the mountain was a plus. We arrived in whistler around 9 and we decided to pop our head in to see if we could park for the day so we could just ride back to the hotel to check in. The gentleman at the counter was exceptionally friendly and he even went a step further and looked to see if our room was already ready for us. To our surprise it was ready and we were upgraded to a mountain view room! So we ended up settling in much earlier than anticipated which was welcomed since at the end of the day both of us were exhausted and just wanted a hot bath at the end of the day. The room itself is full of features and is cozy. It features a full kitchen with fridge, oven and stove, microwave/oven and even a dishwasher to clean up the dishes and cutlery that was also included. It has a very comfy queen sized bed, nice sofa and arm chair to relax after a days of skiing or riding. The windows were floor to ceiling with a great view of Blackcomb and the village. The TV included also offered options to connect to your Netflix and YouTube accounts but also via bluetooth. The best part of this room was the fireplace, it was controlled by the HVAC control unit within our room so it never got too hot or cold. The bathroom was tight but manageable with a big tub to soak in, which was a welcome sight for your sore muscles. The Westin featured many other amenities like a cute little mall indoors, spa and also ski valet which was nice since equipment wasn't permitted in guest rooms. The ski valet was very convenient since you could just drop off your equipment and they had it ready for you at the front desk for when you are ready to leave. You could get around not using this service by leaving everything in your car, but it was nice to have a safe and secure place for your expensive equipment. Parking is available with valet service ($38) or self parking ($34) and you are able to park till 4pm the next day which is nice if you want to walk around before leaving. Overall the service from the Westin staff as well as the room and facilities was fantastic. Everything was conveniently located to make a weekend on the hills a wonderful experience!

JT B.

Yelp
Great location. The valet, bellhops and housekeeping staff were top notch. Friendly and courteous people. Oddly, front desk staff the night we checked in were underwhelming and not interested in working. During the week, the front desk staff were fine... do you go to a "4 star hotel" to relax and engage w/ genuine hospitality? I do. We were there for a week- and hospitality was limited at reception. Perhaps because this was shoulder season and the hotel was empty? This experinece kind of removed the "polish" from our stay. The "King suite" is small. Our King bed sat in front of a full kitchen - which was nice but, the oven door bumped into our bed. I like Marriott hotels. I like the Westin. I'll spend my money elsewhere the next time I'm in Whistler. I recommend promoting your back of the house staff to the front of the house.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Awful experience. Housekeeping left our door open for anyone to walk in two different days during our five day stay. The room was dirty and smelled awful. My "Mountain View" room had visibility to a mountain only if you lean over on the porch. I would not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Westin Whistler two years in a row now and love this resort. It's located on the outskirts of the village so there's a solid value of privacy since people are not going there unless they are guests of the resort. The rooms are spacious and I didn't have any issues in the parking garage and could easily find parking whenever we came back. Although we chose the green choice for housekeeping most of the days, they still had attendants going around to check if the trash needed to be emptied or if we needed more towels. Even though this is a dog friendly hotel it never smelled like dog nor did I ever encounter any dog waste or excess hair in the lobby or hallways. I hope my next stay in Whistler isn't too far away now that Ironman has relocated to Penticton!

Yelp
Beautiful luxurious hotel in a great location. We parked our car and were able to walk all around the village. Our suite had a full kitchen with dishwasher and anything we could possibly want or not want. Love the clothesline and magnifying mirror in the bathroom, perfect! We were steps from the ice machine and washer and dryer which we used & worked well. Love our view of the gondola and mounting squares, the fireplace and two large TVs were a treat. Lots of closets, hangers and places to put our suitcases. The Spa, gym, indoor & outdoor pools & steam scented room are a treat. Yes it was expensive, parking was $38 and I just paid $5 for a cup of coffee and $3 for a detergent pod.

Bella M.

Yelp
the worst staff ever me and my girlfriend had a booking to go back to vancouver and we thought it was for 5am and realized it was for 7:30am so we wanted to kill time and take photos in the washroom and then a staff came in told us to leave and that we can stay in the waiting area which we did and then got told we have to go wait outside in the cold and there is 1.5hrs left so i am pretty shocked that they would do this its so cold outside and there is NO ONE IN THE WAITING ROOM this is so wrong we not even doing anything wrong. just shows what kind of person they are

Yelp
The staff was really welcoming. We had trouble finding a quick spot to park and check-in and park etc etc, so one of the valets told us to just go ahead and park on P3 and P4 and recommended to stick to West elevator. The check-in took awhile. There were a lot of people checking in, but that's not surprising on a saturday! Our check-in employee was really friendly and even offered us an upgrade! Nice! The room was a top floor loft and was really nice. The bathroom was a bit tight but that's because we're used to bigger ones. The kitchen was really dated even though there was a very then-expensive Thermador cooktop. I can see that they cater to the winter ski and snowboard crowd by having a fully equipped kitchen. Room service is nice! We had breakfast in because we wanted to relax. You just have to put your order on your door by 2am and indicated on the sheet what time you wanted breakfast. Easy peasy. The thing we liked the most was the amazing view of the mountains! We also really liked that this hotel was at the edge of the village - I mean that in a good way. We liked that you could enjoy the village, have dinner, grab a drink and then retire to the edge of it where it's much quieter and with less foot traffic. Why the 4 stars then? 1. There's no bathroom in the bedroom upstairs. This suite isn't suitable for people who use the washroom many times at night, or people with mobility/hip issues. 2. Too many people. I get that it's one of the larger hotels so that's expected but it was packed that weekend. There were too many people and tons of screaming kids. People also weren't parking well and it was a bit confusing when driving in. 3. My breakfast waffles were so crispy because they were overdone.

Yelp
My favorite hotel in Whistler. Location, location, location, great heated pool and hot tub, plus we got an upgrade to a nice loft room and late checkout. Able to skip check in and open the room with our phone Bluetooth. Recommend!

Yelp
We have stayed at Westins before, and always love the service and quality of the rooms we stay in. However, this one tops all the other ones I have stayed at. It is beautiful, clean, quiet, and has beautiful views of the village and mountains. There is so much to do here and in the surrounding area, and if you are not sure what to do, the concierge desk will assist you in providing an itinerary of local activities to do and answer any questions. The front desk was speedy, quick to check us in and out, and super friendly. The room was beautiful, and came complete with a fireplace, king size bed, sofa, table, lamps, closet, bathroom, and kitchenette that even had a dishwasher. If you put any dishes in the dishwasher, room service will do the dishes for you! The room was super quiet, and we didn't hear anyone else around us hardly at all. Room service was efficient and made sure to come when you were not in the room. They made the place smell wonderful after they were done! Also, there is parking below the hotel, so you don't have to worry about parking in the outside, especially when it is snowing. Ski rentals are not allowed in the rooms, but they make it convenient by having the rental shop downstairs, complete with ski valet. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would definitely come back.

Yelp
5 stars for location. Ski valet right at the bottom of the slopes. Very accessible to all the action in the Village. Suite was a good size for 2 people and includes pull out sofa bed, kitchenette with plates, utensils, microwave, fridge, fireplace& coffeemaker. Of course the awesome heavenly bed and pillows did not disappoint. We were given free wifi because we are spg members. Self-parking is $30/ night; valet $35/night. Very dog-friendly- they actually have a dog weekend mid-October. We rented movies $17.99 per movie plus taxes. We were a bit bothered by the bad odor of the curtain in the room- it smelled like it hasn't been washed in years. Another foul odor we noticed was from the flooring/rug in the east tower elevator. It was a bad 1st impression to an otherwise great hotel . The odor was distinctly mold obviously from normally wet flooring- it totally smelled like wet socks have been left there for weeks. We were also quite disappointed with the non-security of the elevators . It's too easy for anybody to access and go up and down the elevators. Overall an ok stay but not worth $450/night.

Yelp
So I stayed here last weekend for a nice weekend in Whistler. The rooms were nice enough and had super comfy beds but I didn't really like the pool area. On the topic, the pool side waitresses were not very attentive and when they did finally come over, they tried to give my sister a bill for food just b/c she was an indian woman. My sister said it wasn't hers, but then the waitress came over again to ask us if we were sure. Yes, we are sure that we hadn't ordered anything the whole time, because not once did you come over. You can't remember the person you were serving? I found this rude and insulting and slightly racist. Just because my sister and another woman are indian, older and with the same build, you assume maybe she is lying? I'm sorry you can't tell people of one race apart. Ridiculous. The cleaning services here were pretty great, which is really important to stay at a hotel. So props to them, they totally earned a star from me. Other than the pool side waitress everyone else seemed nice enough. The hotel is situated nicely in the village so everything is walking distance. I honestly don't know if I would stay here again, maybe if the price is right.

Yelp
We stayed at the Westin for one week - I really don't have any complaints about my experience here. We made reservations at the last minute - we were staying in a time share over in Creekside - that had no air conditioning - and temps were soaring - in the upper 80's (Fahrenheit scale) - close to 90. We were miserable in that place. We got in at the Westin and yes! Refreshing AC! My room was at a corner, so I had no balcony, which other rooms had. I did have a bit of a view of the mountains (my room was on the 4th floor). The room included a separate bedroom with a small HD TV, a kitchenette with 2 burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and other small appliances, a small round kitchen table with our chairs, a very small living room area with a couch, chair and TV. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and we were given complimentary WiFi access for the duration of our stay - which I will say was reasonably fast for being out in the mountains of BC! On Monday, we wanted to watch the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference keynote being streamed over the internet - we could watch it our our MacBook Pros - but we wanted a bigger screen so we could kick back on the couch and watch for a couple of hours. I had brought an Apple TV with me. I connected it via HDMI cable to the flat panel HD TV in my living room area, and then joined the Apple TV to the hotel WiFi network - but there is no way to access the hotel's captive portal to authenticate in the Apple TV setup. So I called the front desk - the girl down there told me they don't support that. I told them that they do - that all I needed to do was chat with their IT folks. She connected me to their IT group, I chatted with the guy, gave him my MAC address and IP address and within 5 minutes he had my Apple TV connected to the internet (for the whole week). The cleaning ladies did a good job, I have no qualms there. I spent a couple of sessions during the week out at the pool, usually only for 30 minutes so that I did not get burned. Boy the water in the pool was cold. Even though it was hot out - about 88 degrees, after going in the pool and the light breeze blowing off the mountain, you cooled off fast! There are two dining options in the Westin - the Grill & Vine and the Firerock Lounge - I enjoyed both of these and have reviewed separately. The Grill and Vine also has a little counter attached to it outside of the restaurant where you can get Starbucks brand coffee to go, as well as some pastries, bottled water and such. There is also an inside third party retail area attached to the Westin, which includes Kaze Japanese Restaurant (Sushi), a Japanese travel agency, an eyeglass shop, an Art Gallery, an Artists studio, several outdoor clothing shops including Helly Hansen and Canski, and more. There is a parking garage beneath the hotel - you can do valet or self park. You still get charged for self park, but you save maybe $4.00 per day over the valet rate. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
By far my favorite hotel in Whistler village. Building and facilities are quite new compare to many other hotels in Whistler. Convenient location, 1-2 minutes walk to Whistler Mountain Gondola with great ski valet service right outside. Friendly front desk, and received free upgrade/early check in/late check out with my Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite membership, base on availability of course. The new mobile app is really user friendly, I could require service using the online chat with the app.

Yelp
Booked a loft 1 month in advance. They ended up downgrading me because they prioritize family first since they overbooked it.. I was with my daughter and I. I consider that a family... Offered free valet and comp breakfast for the downgrade room.. sorry that's not quite enough to solve the problem they made upon themselves. Ended up ruining father daughter long weekend and drive back home same day. STAY AT THE FAIRMONT

Yelp
I've stayed at the Westin twice and both times I gotta say were really mediocre and here are the reasons why. The first time around, I went with my mom and sister for a nice girls weekend getaway. Little did we know we'd arrive to a girls dance competition happening in the entire hotel so what we thought was gonna be a nice quiet weekend away turned into us trying to avoid the dancers as they were practicing routines down the hallways and lobby. It was loud and packed. I just wish the Resort would have given us a heads up at least so we could book another weekend. The room that time I remember being on the small side with little light. This time around, I went with my company for a retreat and it was worse! Check in took a long time and I know we're a big crew but it's been a lot more efficient at other hotels like the Fairmont as we've come up many times before. The staff was friendly on arrival which was nice. My room wasn't ready till about 4pm which was fine but when I got to it I had no shampoo or conditioner in the room. I usually bring my own but hadn't this time. I had a corporate dinner that night at 7pm and needed to get ready so I called down to housekeeping who said they'd bring it up. 20 mins later, nothing so I called again and they said it will be 20 mins and so I waited again. Never showed. Finally I called concierge and said I was running late because I hadn't received shampoo or conditioner i had now wait almost an hour for. The staff was apologetic and said they'd bring it right up. I waited again and then I finally got a knock and it was the front desk woman who had run them up to my room herself because house keeping was so backed up. Not having these items in my room was the first problem then waiting for someone to bring them was another. My coworker and I hit the pool on the second day and the steam room which didn't work when we turned it on. Then when it did turn on, it filled the room with more eucalyptus than steam we had to leave. During the day there was also a kids craft market going on which I can fully support as these kids were like little entrepreneurs but do it in a ballroom, not the freakin lobby where people need to walk around and enter and exit. It created such a frustrating bottle neck experience for those not partaking in the market. Again this wasn't relaxing, it was packed like a conference hotel. My room was decent for a one bedroom but overall I'd choose the Four seasons, Fairmont and Pan over this resort.

Yelp
The maid came in my room with the DO NOT DISTURB card displayed on my door. She took a plastic bag that was hanging on a chair, and apparently mistook it for trash. It was not in the trash can or even on the floor. AND, it was not trash. This should be illegal. Management did not care, "Sorry, we can't do anything about it."

Yelp
Came here for a weekend getaway with wife and friend. My first impression was that this was a beautiful hotel, we were a little early to check in and so we just roamed around the property. They have cool shops and dining areas if your hungry. Also what's cool about this property was the skiing and snowboarding access... very convenient. Here's the reason for the missing stars, Kate and Shannon were the 2 associates that helped us, I was checked in with explore rate (I work for the company so we have discounts in room) Shannon failed to provide me my explore rate discount card that usually comes with the rate, used for food and beverage provided at the restaurant and room service. she didn't even explain to us about the dining experience they offer in this hotel neither did Kate. Upon getting to our rooms I realized that my discount card wasn't given so I called front desk and they had it brought up with our belongings, not even an apology. The front desk staff also failed to provide me the access code for the internet again something they missed upon checking in. Usually you are told about wifi, dining, parking fees etc... so I called front desk to obtain information. We stayed in to order In Room Dinning I specified to the server (Shannon) that took my order on the phone about the 20% discount Shannon said yes I got that in for you, later when I got my food they didn't provide any itemized receipt and it made me think I didn't get the discount because of the total being overall then expected, I called again front desk to provide me information Kate said she will get back to me, she never did after 2 hours waiting I just went to the front desk, this made me upset! It shouldn't take 2 hours to get back to a guest because a missing discount. Shannon told me that she did added the discount but when Dominic (IN ROOM DINING SERVER) came back to provide the receipt he said Shannon didn't tell him anything about the discount. So I don't know who was lying or didn't do their job correctly. The lack of care and communication made my stay not welcomed. If you work for the same company and travel you expect the same great service as you give to them when they come to visit. From all of that they were no apologies sent, and they finally got me my itemized receipt. Too top it off the food wasn't great! Please fix the attitude of the front desk staff.

Yelp
I've stayed here multiple times over the years, there is always nice clean rooms with a kitchen (full, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, stocked) The westin staff are always great. On check in Antone was so kind to us and gave us such a nice room. I love that the green option gives us coffee in the lobby cafe instead of cleaning, I never want room cleaning anyway, we were stocked with towels and never even needed more. Westin always wins for me because they don't charge for dogs, and I love seeing them going in and out of the hotel for walks. I think this location could use some renovation love, the women steam room is a bit grungy, the lobby carpet in the east tower needs replacing.

Yelp
I've stayed at all the top hotels in Whistler and though technically not the fanciest, the Westin is my favourite. The location is unbeatable, and the service from everyone - valet parking attendants, desk staff, bars & restaurants, houskeeping - is superb. The pool is kept wonderfully warm all year round! We bring our dog with us, and she's treated like the queen she (and we) thinks she is. We're just checking out today after a wonderful stay. We'll be back time and again, no doubt.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Our room was perfect. Everything you need for a great ski vacation. The ski valet is awesome. Staff is excellent. I will say I they could improve the level of food quality at Grill on Vine for dinner. The prices are way too high for the quality of food. That being said, the restaurants in the village make up for this.

Yelp
This was a nice hotel to stay on my first trip to Whistler. Our room came with a small kitchenette. It was clean and cozy, and it offered great views of the surrounding mountains. Plus the hotel is within a short distance from Whistler Village. The only reason I did not give this hotel a higher score is because of the parking. Hotel guest are restricted to parking on levels 3 and 4. Some of their parking spaces are placed so close together that I'm sure that there are a lot of people leaving with dings and dents on their cars all if the time.

Yelp
Great lodge. We stayed here for a week when we visited Whistler. The lodge had amazing breakfast area. Very beautiful and large. The breakfast itself was amazing. It possibly had everything you could want. The rooms are very cozy some with kitchens. They have bottles of wine for purchase which was great. I wish every hotel would have those. They charged about $30 per bottle. We rented our skies and poles in the lodge shop. They were very attentive and helped us out. We can finally say we skied in Whistler. The village was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights. It was a magical vacation. Everything is walkable so that made things very easy. We tried the sushi village. It was great sushi too. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Being a rare true Vancouverite I have been coming to Whistler for many years! I've seen it grow and I've seen it develop from 'just' a ski resort to a happening place even in the Summer months. I've stayed at a lot of different places over the years, and I've stayed at the Westin maybe 4 times over the years. My most current stay, I stayed at the Westin for 2 nights over the Canada Day long weekend. I did not enjoy my stay. I don't remember this hotel being as noisy as it is! I had to pay nearly $400 a night and I could not get a decent nights sleep! On the first night our neighbors were playing cards at 1 am. There were probably 6 ppl in that room. We could not sleep so I called the front desk to complain. The front desk sent security upstairs and things quieted down. About 3 am I was woken up by victory screams. My gf is a heavy sleeper so she was out like a light I was going to call downstairs again but I didn't want to wake her. The card games ended around 4 am. Thanks a lot!!!! The second night it was close to 12 am. Our neighbors were not back in the room so we thought they had checked out. We were wrong. They stormed in at 1230ish. They were noisier than the night before so I called downstairs again to complain. The front desk girl was nice enough to upgrade us to a 1 bedroom suite in a different section of the hotel. We were looking forward to getting a decent nights sleep. After settling in and sleeping peacefully for a few hours we heard some loud rap music! Minutes later we heard the bed above us squeaking! Putting 1 and 1 together I just threw up my hands and said WTF to myself! 20 mins later the couple upstairs turned off the rap music and went bed! Me I can't say I slept well the whole trip! Considering that we were busy doing Ziplining, going to Peak 2 Peak, going to the spa, and golfing a good nights sleep would have definitely been beneficial! I like the Westin. The staff is awesome. Very polite and professional, but maybe the building has aged to the point that there a lot of more quiet alternatives out there!

Yelp
Amazing resort to stay in Whistler. Plenty of space in rooms and great restaurants and a Starbucks as well. Dog friendly. Room had a fireplace, which I feel is mandatory for a winter getaway. Really close to the base of the mountain and they have a ski valet as well. Parking is valet but same price as all other resorts. Location is central to Whistler so a great base for exploring town.

Yelp
We stayed in the studio suite. The suite was breathtaking with 20 foot windows, vaulted ceiling and cozy fireplace. The suite also has a full kitchen. Rooms were clean, hotel was rustic and updated. Westin has multiple restaurants, and shopping within the resort. Within steps to the village walking. Staff was very accommodating. We would definitely return and recommend to others!

Yelp
Made the mistake of booking in and not waiting for Covid restrictions to be lifted. One of the big reasons for booking a quick trip was having access to a pool for our kids but you're only allowed in the pool for an hour per day when you are able to get a spot in the booking system. Masks are required in all common areas and elevators are limited which creates wait time's to get up and down from your floor. Otherwise might be a nice hotel but the value for your dollar is severely lacking and feels like we're being ripped off when we were not told these amenities would be limited or closed when we booked.

Yelp
I usually stay here. I love their rooms and location. Why zero to one stars? This time we had our wedding band from our room STOLEN. We realized it was missing 45 mins after we checked out of the room and it was already gone. Its a shame. All they said to us was to go online and fill some form. Again... shameful! I've left things in my rooms before and I've always gotten them back. Marriott even once shipped me my designer purse at no expense. Another hotel reimbursed me for something super small that i had left there. My husbands wedding band had more sentimental value than anything else and we offered to do anything. The hotel however, not so much!

Yelp
We booked this ski resort through Expedia for 8 days for peak season. When we checked in early morning 7am, front desk told us checking in time 11am, but when we check back another person told me check in time is 4pm. They seem so not quite care about customer experience, one rule apply all, not recommend if you looking for vocation experience, defiantly not like other one we experienced, they make you feel you going home for holiday! Defiantly not recommended. Plus lobby is quite old, lighting is not set for this kind of resort.

Yelp
Not recommended. Staying in Westin was my worst experience in Whistler ever. I spent $1500+ per night during new year and I didn't get any high-class service. First, the restaurant was super slow and taste was bad. Second, the room was not very clean at the day we arrive(I see the hotel card from the previous tenant and empty pill box) Third, they don't offer laundry service and expect customers to use self-served washer and dryer which they only give one per floor (while there are at least 50 rooms on one floor!)

Yelp
I had a pleasant stay at the Westin, but there are some small details that really need improvement. My room wasn't ready when I arrived, but they called after about an hour and a half and I could go to my room. My one bedroom suite was clean and nice enough. The check in process was a hassle, though. Each time I waited at the front desk for anything, it took forever because there was only one staff person at work, with several people in line. Very frustrating. The TV in the sitting room didn't work. I called the front desk and they said someone would come up and fix it. No one ever did. I enjoyed both the bar on the second floor, and the breakfast in the dining room, although I thought $35 for the buffet was a little on the pricey side. The bar made a very good Old Fashioned. I'm an SPG member, and I'm supposed to get a late check out. I got a minor hassle about it, but they eventually agreed to a 2 PM check out. Fine, but when I went to my room at 1:30 to change and pack, my key card wouldn't work. They had locked me out. Another trip to the front desk with a wait, but eventually I got in. In summary, a nice hotel, but they could definitely improve on customer service. It's the little details that really matter.

Yelp
Overall a nice hotel very adjacent to the whistler village gondola, folks here are nice as well, but does it stick to the Westin brand is questionable. This is the only Westin hotel I have stayed that blocks all the HDMI ports, and was refused to get my Nintendo Switch or Fire TV connected. Your entertaining is limited to the Netflix/Youtube which comes with the TV, or the never working ChromeCast which also give you Netflix/Youtube. The biggest issue of the ChromeCast system they deployed is your privacy, it doesn't auto log out the accounts when you check out ( inferior than the Delta hotels). The TV in my room has both Netflix and Youtube logged in by the last guest, I was able to see their names, their watching history from his profiles and his kids' profiles. The other sneaky thing I am unhappy with is the booking strategy of this hotel, which later I found it is common for this property by reading reviews by other folks. I booked a deluxe studio suite with fire place, during checking in was given an option of switching to a "studio" but with breakfast package, no room size comparison was given. While the breakfast is nice, the price difference of the room size really cannot just be made up by the complimentary breakfast. The "studio" is actually a bedroom only from a two bedroom suite, it is so tiny that doesn't even have a place to put a microwave.

Yelp
We visited with our 6 & 8 year olds on their Winter Break. Disappointment started at check-in. Gold status means next to nothing here. Parking is a confusing, expensive mess. Front desk staff washed their hands of parking, saying "another company does that". Essentially no assistance in figuring out parking & payment for parking. Additionally parking pricing was not clear and much more than advertised on website. I had to help several people in the garage figure out how & where to pay and how to get back into the hotel. Parking could not have been more cramped. For a place that serves mountain guests, the parking slots were designed for tiny cars-instead it was full of SUVs and nobody could het their door open more than a foot. Public space was cold & empty. Very little chairs for lounging. Would have expected Mountain Lodge Feel but this was completely absent. Kid neutral-Lower ballrooms had kids games, movie and even an X-Box which was nice but the pool area was overrun with young adults trying to impress each other and there was very little in the way of kid friendly menus (this problem extended to Whistler Village as a whole however). Food-Very few tables in Fireside Lounge & NO KIDS after 8pm (though this isn't advertised anywhere). The food was actually quite good. Initially we were ignored for a LONG time until a bartender had apparently come in to assist. He was great! Otherwise little attention. The Coffee bar had terrible service (again not atypical for Whistler Village as a whole). Coffee bar workers (with one exception) were not attentive to waiting customers. Finishing with one customer & walking away and chatting when another customer was waiting who after 3-5 minutes should incredulously have to call after them, standing only 6 feet away, for service. Not only did this happen to me but I watched it happen consecutively to the people in front of me on 3 different mornings. Rooms are incredibly tiny but I guess that's par for the course. The rooms were otherwise nicely done and the tiny kitchen was actually pretty efficient given the amount of space it had been allotted. Bathrooms were fine-appreciated dry line. For a place that serves people coming in with snowy coats & boots, there wasn't a door side place to put theses items. Instead they had to come into the room getting melting snow all over the floor. Room linens were changed on bed but not sofa bed despite the fact that the bed was unfolded to be changed. Room was initially nicely cleaned but after that I was not vacuumed. An example, some popcorn crumbs on the floor from the night before were not vacuumed up. Dish washer was not run when loaded. Word of warning, if you have ski gear, they require you to keep it at CanSki downstairs where you will wait in line and pay a storage fee. I get that they need to do this to keep the rooms from being banged up & it didn't effect us as we weren't there to ski but I hadn't seen any warning about it on the website. The location is great, it's right next to the two main Gondolas. Our trip simply wasn't very pleasurable or relaxing. The night of our return, once my wife was in bed she summed it up, "I'm better now that we're home. Let's go back, but not to the Westin".

Yelp
Upon arrival was greeted graciously. The room I was supposed to have had was a queen with pull out couch but instead was given a king and the room was a handicap accessible . Not what I wanted but didn't have a choice. Loved the fact that there was a built in kitchen with all the amenities, but was surprised that you were given robes but no slippers, oh well the little things we enjoy. My main complaint was every time I went to the outside hot tub, there were little kids splashing and jumping into the only outside hot tub. If you wanted relaxation after skiing all day, it won't be here. There's a lovely indoor to outdoor heated pool, so let them splash away but the Westin really should have rules on an age limitation in the one tiny outdoor hit tub. All in all nice hotel, a bit expensive but you can't beat the location

Yelp
This place is huge! Room and bathroom were nice... definitely a woodsy lodge feel to it. A little dated, but still nice. Check out the restaurant The Firerock, the fried buttermilk chicken was AMAZING! Check in was slow. Not because of the employees, their system probably needs updating for a faster experience.

Yelp
I have NEVER, EVER received such a shameful, disrespectful and insulting service in my life !!! The money you paid mean nothing to the Westin hotel, they talk to you so disrespectfully, it is truly unbelievable. I will never come back here, nor recommend this hotel to anyone. If their is something that you need from them to make your vacation more enjoyable you can basically forget about it, you won't get it and instead they'll treat you with zero patient. Very disturbing that a 4 star hotel can act like that.

Yelp
SHAME ON YOU WESTIN WHISTLER. I was thrilled to find out that my wife and I were pregnant on 11/9. Our OBGYN asked us to to cancel our annual trip to visit Whistler during the holidays (12/27-1/2) to be safe. I cancelled our reservation at the Westin the very next day 11/10 and then learned that there was a 60 day cancellation policy and that I would be charged $5,000 (even though I booked with points). After a lot of back and forth with the hotel they determined that they would "stay firm" and not allow us to cancel. This is even after asking us to send them a Dr.'s note which contained a lot of confidential information. They settled by allowing us to forfeit our points rather than pay in dollars; terrible nonetheless. Rachel Adair, Codi-Lee Richardson and Tony Cary-Barnard (their "GM") should all be ashamed of themselves and demoted at a minimum by Corporate. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced.

Yelp
Excellent hotel! From check in to check out our stay was on point! Everything was perfect. We arrived very early. (Check in is at 4pm, we arrive just after noon) they held our bags and gave us a call 30min later letting us know our room was ready. When we checked in the front desk lady let us know our bags were already in our room waiting for us! Our room was great! I didn't know we were going to have a suite with a full kitchen, view of the village, balcony and fire of the runs. The room was very walled off but it worked. I would have enjoyed an open floor plan but regardless the room was great! Housekeeping was on top of it. Our room was cleaned extremely fast we almost didn't notice! Pool and hot tub are lovely! Being outside in the snow is perfect and they have an indoor option if you don't want to be outside. All the staff was SO friendly and extremely understanding. I will definitely stay here again. We really enjoyed this Westin.

Yelp
Nice place and clean but 2 warnings. Elevators are super confusing and I nearly lost the tip of my finger setting up the crib they brought. Please be careful!

Yelp
You can't beat the location. They are a 2 minute walk to the slopes and they've even got a tent next to the lift to collect your skiis/board so you don't have to carry them after a long day. Overall my stay was fine, but I do have a few notable gripes... 1. The concierge lined up my ski rental, the rental shop chosen was in the hotel and was awful. 2. Internet was crap. The connection went in and out all week, they tried to charge us for the service, but I successfully got it taken off the bill. Sad I had to even ask. 3. It's pricey for what you get... my room was technically a suite, but the only other suite I've had that small was in NYC. I still had a good time in Whistler and it remains my favorite ski resort.

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful! But it took forever to get our room. We got there about an hour earlier and they said our room wasn't ready which is understandable because check in time is at 4pm. So they said they would call us when it was ready or if we didn't receive a call to just come back at 4. So we did and the room still wasn't ready. We didn't end up getting our room till after 5pm. That was kind of disappointing being that we were super tired from traveling. But they ended up giving us a $80 food voucher.
