We stayed at the Westin for one week - I really don't have any complaints about my experience here.
We made reservations at the last minute - we were staying in a time share over in Creekside - that had no air conditioning - and temps were soaring - in the upper 80's (Fahrenheit scale) - close to 90. We were miserable in that place.
We got in at the Westin and yes! Refreshing AC!
My room was at a corner, so I had no balcony, which other rooms had. I did have a bit of a view of the mountains (my room was on the 4th floor).
The room included a separate bedroom with a small HD TV, a kitchenette with 2 burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and other small appliances, a small round kitchen table with our chairs, a very small living room area with a couch, chair and TV.
Everything was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and we were given complimentary WiFi access for the duration of our stay - which I will say was reasonably fast for being out in the mountains of BC!
On Monday, we wanted to watch the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference keynote being streamed over the internet - we could watch it our our MacBook Pros - but we wanted a bigger screen so we could kick back on the couch and watch for a couple of hours. I had brought an Apple TV with me. I connected it via HDMI cable to the flat panel HD TV in my living room area, and then joined the Apple TV to the hotel WiFi network - but there is no way to access the hotel's captive portal to authenticate in the Apple TV setup. So I called the front desk - the girl down there told me they don't support that. I told them that they do - that all I needed to do was chat with their IT folks. She connected me to their IT group, I chatted with the guy, gave him my MAC address and IP address and within 5 minutes he had my Apple TV connected to the internet (for the whole week).
The cleaning ladies did a good job, I have no qualms there.
I spent a couple of sessions during the week out at the pool, usually only for 30 minutes so that I did not get burned. Boy the water in the pool was cold. Even though it was hot out - about 88 degrees, after going in the pool and the light breeze blowing off the mountain, you cooled off fast!
There are two dining options in the Westin - the Grill & Vine and the Firerock Lounge - I enjoyed both of these and have reviewed separately. The Grill and Vine also has a little counter attached to it outside of the restaurant where you can get Starbucks brand coffee to go, as well as some pastries, bottled water and such.
There is also an inside third party retail area attached to the Westin, which includes Kaze Japanese Restaurant (Sushi), a Japanese travel agency, an eyeglass shop, an Art Gallery, an Artists studio, several outdoor clothing shops including Helly Hansen and Canski, and more.
There is a parking garage beneath the hotel - you can do valet or self park. You still get charged for self park, but you save maybe $4.00 per day over the valet rate.
I'd stay here again.
