On the Grid : Westside Local

"You’ll want to just hangout for hours at the Westside Local. It’s charming dining room, pocket-sized bar and alley beer garden make it very easy to just relax and soak up the ambiance. The menu is full of locally sourced fare that is just so delicious. The Localities (small bites meant to be shared) are a perfect way to start, especially the deviled eggs, and the entrees are all amazing. I highly recommend any burger and the grilled cheese, unless you hate juicy cheesy messy comfort foods. Their menu changes seasonally so you are sure to get the freshest possible ingredients. Westside Local is truly a neighborhood hangout, come eat and drink and be merry with the Westsiders!" - Rachel Sleeter

Off the bat, the atmosphere is pretty cute but it stays busy so be sure to make a reservation. We started with the pint of fries which was delicious. For entrees, we had the summit burger and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The entrees were ok; the bun on the burger was a little big and it came with lettuce even when we requested it not to (allergy). The grilled cheese was a flavor overload definitely embodying the saying that sometimes less is more. The cheese and soup were both so rich and potent I could hardly eat more than a few bites. Overall, it wasn’t a favorite dining experience and was expensive.

I had the best grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup I have ever eaten! It was so flavorful and delicious!! Took my son and his girlfriend there for dinner and she is Vegan. Plenty of choices and very accommodating and knowledgeable about the food and menu. Great neighborhood and atmosphere. Dog Friendly!! Highly recommend. You may need reservations but we sat outside with no wait.

Google
A Truly Local Gem in Every Sense I had the pleasure of dining at Westside Local last night, and the name couldn’t be more fitting. The atmosphere felt genuinely local and cozy, a refreshing departure from the usual chain restaurant vibe. The menu was packed with interesting and unique dishes, which was a huge win for someone like me who doesn’t eat much beef or pork. I found at least four dishes I was excited to try right off the bat. The service was warm and friendly, adding to the overall welcoming vibe, and the atmosphere was hip and cool. Westside Local is definitely a spot I’ll be returning to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, locally-focused dining experience.

We were in town for the Nebraska vs Cincinnati game and wanted to hit something local on the way home. After a night of drinking, I needed comfort food, and not a big fan of BBQ. This was close to our hotel, highly rated, and the review pics looked good. It didn't disappoint!! We had the option of sitting inside or outside on the patio. I opted for the patio seating and it was charming, comfortable, and well done! The fans on the ends of the tables were a nice unique touch. I don't recall our server's name (short dark hair), but she was great! Attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the menu items. I was impressed by the details of each menu item. They ALL sounded so good it made it hard to decide what to get. I decided on the mac and cheese and added the hot honey chicken. My husband picked a burger (they're 1/2 lb!) He appreciates much simpler flavors and modified one to his liking. The quality of the ingredients I think is what impressed me most. His burger bun was hearty and toasted, quality bacon, quality beef, and good consistent crispness on the fries. My mac and cheese was beautifully put together, a generous portion, and I appreciated the standards of quality! Would definitely eat here again! I would also love to try the tacos She suggested! I dont think you can go wrong with any item because of their quality and standards. Even the salt and pepper shakers were well thought out.

Love this place, and the kids did too! The elote tots, pretzel & sausage board, steak rice bowl, fish & chips, and mac n’ cheese with veggies were all amazing—something for everyone to enjoy!

Google
NYE Dinner here was fantastic! First time here and we'll definitely return. The staff was friendly and attentive. A nice atmosphere with some background music to enjoy with your meal. Not too loud so you can still have a conversation. The food was top notch. We opted for the elote tater tots, deviled eggs, and pickles for our appetizers. All were fantastic, especially the elote tots. For the main course two of us had the nightly steak special, which included a lobster butter topping (which could've been melted a bit more over the steak) that was flavorful and accompanied the steak well. The asparagus, spinach, and mashed potatoes were a great pairing. The third person had the veggie burger which was great and came with some perfectly crisp fries. For dessert we had the chocolate tort with fresh fruit. Great way to round out the meal.

The Westside Local serves fresh, locally sourced food with a creative twist. Their farm-to-table menu features delicious sandwiches, salads, and seasonal specials. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, perfect for brunch or a casual dinner. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I particularly loved their house-made pickles and the locally roasted coffee. It’s a great spot to enjoy a flavorful meal while supporting local producers. The Westside Local combines great ingredients, friendly service, and a welcoming vibe in one solid package.

Yelp
Absolutely hands down one of the best places in Kansas City to eat!!! We came for a day trip and I am SO glad we decided to eat at the Westside Local. Truly fresh, farm to table food that will leave you feeling better than when you came in! FOOD : I got the shawarma bowl and it was wonderful. The flavors blended together so well and I felt like the plate was the perfect size. The veggies were all fresh, the rice was fluffy and light, and the chicken tasted really quality. Their sauces and hummus worked so great with the plate I was so satisfied but didn't feel overly full or gross / greasy one bit. I could tell it was FRESH! My fav! My husband got the Summit Burger and was not disappointed in the slightest. It was juicy, tender, fresh, and the fries were the best we have had in years!! Nothing felt soggy or heavy, & we just couldn't stop gushing over the quality. 10/10!! ATMOSPHERE / SERVICE : we decided to sit at the patio and it was stunning. You're surrounded by plants and it feels like a garden - loved that. Our waitress was a delight and was super kind and helpful and prompt. Overall this is definitely a must go spot, i wish i could eat here every weekend!

Yelp
Went here for my cousins birthday dinner. The food was all very good. Very impressed. I got the seasonal steak Prices were very good. And portions were decent. No leftovers tho haha. Desert was ok and took a very long time to come out. We were the last people in the restaurant. Atmosphere was casual and very cute interior. Complaints: My dad said his beer was warm and my sister did not enjoy her gluten free quinoa salad. They are not the best at gluten free. For instance if something is fried in a common frier not 100% gluten free so beware if you are celiacs. We had a big party so service was a little slow but understandable. Note: they also include automatic gratuity for big parties so be sure to check that as well

Yelp
I was craving a sweet potato burger and fries. I used to order this one all the time. So I placed a Togo order was told it's $24, then upon arrival it was $25. An extra fee if you use your card:/ I understand the cost of food has gone up but from a $14 to $25 is wild, along with random additional fees, help me further understand why a lot of businesses are going out of business. Price gouging. They have a few burgers on the menu. What goes with a burger..... fries, I would guess. Yet here I am spending an additional $2 for a side that is the norm all across America. Ok whatever. The food the burger was way smaller than what it used to be and my fries weren't crispy. I had to stick them in the oven for a few to bring them back to life and get them right. Did it taste the same, sure. But personally I'm done. The place has great ambiance but for what they're charging the menu is not large enough, I shouldn't have to reheat food, and I live too far to be disappointed.

Yelp
Love us some local! Absolutely delicious and the perfect spot to take out of town family to brunch or get together with your local friend group. The breakfast menu has something for everyone but also don't pass up on things like a twist on the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup. Be sure to make a reservation and definitely opt for the patio on nice weather days. Service was good but can be a bit delayed on busy days but nothing short of a good experience.

Yelp
Love their fries! Great food from local sources and a fun atmosphere. Located on KC's vibrant West Side.

Yelp
Probably one of bbq burgers I've had in kc. There was fried cheese, bacon jam, and a burnt end on top of the patty Fries were delicious, crispy, and seasoned. Didn't need ketchup.

Yelp
Great Sunday brunch. Very large servings. Servers are attentive and happy to help. Probably the best kale salad I've ever had. Excellent dining space but tables are close together.

Yelp
We enjoyed this place. Great atmosphere, amazing staff! We started with the Elote Tater Tots which were gone before I could get a pic. All four of us loved them. I had the soup of the day, which was a pork and black bean chili. Lots of pork, very hearty, but way too salty. For dinner, I got the garlic pasta with shrimp. It was supposed to have pancetta. I didn't see any. Sauce was thin, runny and lukewarm. My friend and I both ordered it. We both thought it needed salt and the sauce was lame. It was like they made it with skim milk instead of heavy cream. My wife had the chicken skewers and she loved them. I tried it and did not care for it. The pineapple piece was great, but the chicken was meh. We all shared a piece of house-made cake for dessert. It was chocolate with vanilla bean frosting and like a pear jam on top. We all LOVED that! Certainly the bright spot. My friend's husband ordered the salmon and he raved about it. He said it had great smoke flavor and was cooked perfectly. Nice wine list.

Yelp
Westside Local is such a gem!!! We got a rec to go here for delicious options for folks with dietary restrictions and woooooo it did not disappoint!! The entire menu looks amazing, I could hardly choose something. Everything is marked for vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, etc. and they have a wonderful mix of styles. I ended up getting the portobello mushroom sandwich which was huge and tasty! My friends enjoyed the grilled cheese and tomato soup, steak tacos, and a poblano strawberry jam burger!! Staff is friendly and helpful and you can tell from the moment you walk in that the vibes are immaculate. This is a safe space for queer and marginalized people, and the patio is BEAUTIFUL (although enclosed, we got a fairly nice breeze). I wouldn't hesitate if someone suggested going here again!

Yelp
Went to the Westside local for lunch today. We ate out in there shaded patio space, highly recommend if good weather! We ordered their fries which came out with 3 very good dipping sauces (and had to be some of the best fries I've had in KC), and I got the siracha honey chicken sandwich, which is listed as spicy but is a flavorful, small kick sandwich that I think most would enjoy! Had their daily mixed vegetable blend as my side, which was buttery and cooked very nicely. The service here is nothing to write home about but they keep things moving fast and did a good job.

Yelp
We love checking out the Westside neighborhood- there are great restaurant choices and the feel of the community is so welcoming. Not to mention that a stroll around the block provides a wonderful modern homes tour. For our meal we started with the poblano spinach dip. For entrees we had a chicken pozole soup, the poblano and jam burger and the Thai salmon. I ordered the Law of 3 mocktail and loved it! Our waitress was conversational, timely and kind.

Yelp
I've only ever came here for brunch and both times it's been very nice farm to table type food. A great spot to grab a morning coffee with some friends, they even do pitchers of mimosas for $36ish bucks which can fill like 6 glasses halfway. Nice rustic aesthetic

Yelp
I have always loved the Westside Local. The staff was friendly, offered us seating in the nice patio area. This visit I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, which I have had before and loved. This time it was disappointing. The sandwich came out barely toasted, small amount of cheese and the soup was lukewarm. It is difficult to mess up a grilled cheese but they did. For a $19 grilled cheese it should be perfect.

Yelp
Stopped into Westside Local for a nightcap after having dinner nearby. My friends and I had the Espresso Martini, Aperol Spritz and a glass of White Wine. I love that the Espresso Martini was made with tequila, which made it unique! It was strong, just as it should be. We were one of the last tables here and even though they were working on cleaning up, they didn't rush us out. Next time I'd love to sit in the bar area because the dining room was a bit quiet and meh, but that's just because it was 9pm. Can't wait to go back for a full meal next time!

Yelp
On a perfect weekday afternoon, we decided to check out The Westside Local. We did not make reservations for dining alfresco so we had a brief wait, but it was just enough time to check out the space. (Very cool!) They even displayed local art in the rustic brick walls. Once we were seated the host immediately brought us waters (Nice.) and told us our waitress's name. (Really nice.) The patio is amazing! Picnic style tables so you will have to straddle a bench to get seated. I ordered the Kale salad . . . the maple tahini was divine! It says it includes shaved Brussels sprouts but I must have inhaled the salad so quickly I didn't notice any! The hubs ordered the Honey Sriracha chicken salad; it was so tasty with a bit of a kick to it! Great place all around!
google avatar

Baylee R.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I loved everything about it! The patio was such a vibe, with plants everywhere and even a fresh garden in the back. I didn't get a drink, but they had many cocktails to choose from. The food was next level. It's definitely a little pricier but very high quality! I couldn't reccomend enough. I'll be back!
google avatar

Sydni M.

Yelp
The atmosphere is so unique and so fun to eat and chat with to friends! Our service was top notch and the waitress made sure we were well taken care of. I cannot rave about the food enough. This was the half order of French toast and man was it more than enough. They were thick slices that were absolutely delicious. The brown sugar bacon was a hit as well. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
I got a to-go order on my road trip across the country & the holiday spirit here was so bright. The energy was absolutely amazing, service by Brandon was perfect. He was so generous. & I wish we had time to sit down because the ambiance was a VIBE. They accommodated to my dairy allergy so easily with no problem & the food was amazing! We got the salmon & the steak - 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
What a lovely place we stumbled upon on our way through KC. The al Pastor burger was really great and the vegetarian options were absolutely the stars! The tomato fennel soup won the day! If you have someone who is of the veggie persuasion I highly recommend taking them here.

Yelp
Always great food and drinks. Amazing outdoor area. Expect to wait on weekends as this is a hot spot. A must try is the tots!
google avatar

Yelp
This remains hands down my favorite restaurant in KC! I am never disappointed by the food, cocktails or service.

Yelp
Decided to come here on a Friday night and did set up a reservation since it was recommended but the restaurant wasn't packed by any means so one wasn't needed. The cocktail menu was a little underwhelming, nothing sounded too good so i just asked for our waitress to recommend something and i was a little disappointed with what i had but I definitely don't hold that against the place - the drinks just were not for me. Ordered the elote tater tots to start off my meal and this was amazing. Tater tots are an easy thing to mess up but they definitely elevated the flavor of this dish. The pickled jalapeños with the crispy tater tots definitely made it for me. The jalapeño and jam burger was super good too, the saltiness of the bacon paired perfectly with the sweet jam. My only complaint of the night was the mac and cheese - it just didn't have much seasoning and unfortunately was bland. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back here again.
google avatar

Melanie C.

Yelp
Service wasn't very good and the food was way over priced. The best part was the atmosphere.
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
I wish I could give you a lower rating. The first time I came here I was so appalled by the taste of the dish I had ordered that I didn't return till a year later. I was half expecting that maybe it was my imagination - that you couldn't have made something so soulless, borderline nefarious in taste that I don't think I've encountered something that bothered me that much to this day... but somehow you did. Thrice did I fall for it! Look, I get it - chic, millennial joint with a penchant for having some local KCAI kids art on display. Sure. Who wouldn't love it? It's fun, it's cute. But it can't be a coincidence that on three separate occasions you have served dishes that have left me aghast and wondering if maybe someone in the kitchen did some weird voodoo ritual where they can literally yank the soul out of food and serve it's husk. I'll keep coming here, but only to cement my findings.

Yelp
We dined here back in July of 2023. Loved the location, atmosphere, and food here. Some creative twists on comfort foods that we really enjoyed. Specifically the fried portobello sandwich was great, with a nice contrast of textures and flavors. Shout out to the fried chicken sandwich which also was well prepared and tasty. We went for the gespacho watermelon/tomato soup which was super refreshing as a side. The drinks were okay but expensive, I'd recommend skipping if you're on the fence about ordering an alcoholic beverage. The elote tater tots were tasty, but not as reminiscent of the flavoring as we expected. Overall was a positive experience for us when we dined in.
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
Loved this place! Service was great, our waitress consistently checked on us. I was indecisive about what drink to get so it was nice she followed up and I was able to get my delicious pineapple cran mimosa. We got the kale wrap and sriracha honey chicken sandwich. The kale wrap was amazing, perfectly dressed. I'd defiantly come back for it and add chicken if I got it solo. The chicken sandwich grew on me and made a great leftover. Restaurant has a great ambiance so perfect for a weekday lunch or meet up with a friend or colleague.

Yelp
We were seated on the outdoor patio and it was fabulous. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had a group of 8 and had a variety of dishes between all of us. All the food was amazing especially the salads. Mocktails were fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend and go back again to try another dish. Honestly, so many of the dishes sounded and looked amazing.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
First time at Westside Local and it was great. The patio was covered which helped with the rain and they allowed our friend's dog to join us too. They even have beer for the dogs (water bowl). We started with the poblano spinach dip and elote tots. Both starters were amazing and I would for sure come back for just that. The entrees were well sized and delicious, but there were too many great options. I wish they had an entree platter so you can try as many mains as you like. The food was great, the service was friendly and inviting, and I want to come back again very soon.
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
First time here. Loved the neighborhood feel and service was great. Biggest shock for me was the prices! Wow. Yes we wanted to have a good time w my family and we did but wow the prices. 19.00 for chip and dip, 19.00 for Brussel sprouts. Just beware before you go. Food was good but these are kc plaza prices. Also how can you be out of chicken sandwich? I have never seen that before in any restaurant or the portobello sandwich? Cant you just go to the grocery store and buy some chicken like we do and make a sandwich? So odd. Probably wont be back. Just my 2 cents. Also charge 3% extra for cc use. I know some businesses do this but i think this is the 1st restaurant i have been to that does this. So when we tipped 22% it is more like 25%.
google avatar

Thu P.

Yelp
I was shocked how I didn't discover this wholesome spot earlier! The Westside Local is a cute and rustic spot with the best lunch menu. I got the Ruben sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich was super juicy, meat was perfectly cooked and bread was toasted nicely. I would recommend getting their signature fries rather than the tater tots as their fries have the best seasoning and I couldn't stop eating! Our service was great and the server gave us great customer care even with the many tables she had. Please try this spot if you're in the area and want great food!
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
I will say that initially I thought this was more of a bar food place so when I saw the prices I was taken aback but after trying the food, I have more of an understanding as to why the prices are higher. I was not expecting much from my side salad but boy did they deliver on that. We also got fries and Brussels which were all great. This place is super cozy and I'm antsy to go on a warm day and sit on at the patio.

Yelp
Friend and I came here for a quick bite before a show at the Kauffman. We split macaroni and cheese and the honey sriracha chicken sandwich with truffle fries. They have a lot of cocktail and drink items to try ! The honey sriracha chicken sandwich was spicier than I anticipated, but very delicious! The mac and cheese had a lot of breadcrumbs and was a large portion! Super cute and nice spot to try!
google avatar

Jesica B.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I was impressed! We were able to snag a last minute reservation. Walk-ins were not being accepted due to how busy they were. We were immediately greeted, and shown right to our table. Our server was extremely patient and attentive. Really great service. There was a buzz in this place, which I always find really enticing! People having conversations and really enjoying themselves. Food was awesome too! My only comment is my garlic cream pasta needed salt, also the tomato soup that came with the grilled cheese was not a soup, it was a marinara sauce in my opinion. It was way too thick to be a soup.
google avatar

Yelp
This story begins around 1030 a.m. after my husband and I got done, getting ready for the day. He asked me where we were going for brunch. I told him I had been looking at places before hand, and that WestSide Local sounded like a good fit. It did not open until 11 a.m., so we got there 8 minutes after 11 a.m., got seated(we were asked if we would like an inside seat or patio seat). Our water was brought to us. Then, the waitress who reminded us of my husband's 2nd cousin(she was a hoot and very helpful) came by and got our drink order while we made up our minds on the food. My husband chose his drink to be Boylan Rootbeer. My drink selection was the airmid(I never have had bubblegum bitters before, so this was a treat for me to help kick off our mini vacation). I was very impressed when I asked her what she would recommend for my husband(who has no teeth), and she took the time to go over some menu options with him that might make his dining experience more pleasant. He finally decided on the grilled cheese with tomato soup and a side of Mac n cheese(Michael mentioned the macaroni was a little tough, the soup was more like a marinara, a very thick soup). It took me a minute to come up with my decision, so she put in our drink orders and came back for my decision. When she came back, I had decided on the heirloom BLT( was very flavored filled, I would have enjoyed it more with the yellow low acid tomato, vs red and yellow together. I was glad to see the tomatoes salted and peppered, though it definitely helped with keeping the acid down. I could actually see the BLT re-imagined as a flat bread or pizza, i think it would be delicious) with a side of parmesan&parsley fries( thankfully, they were not greasy to the touch, which I appreciated) with homemade ketchup(which was yummy). For this being our first trip to WestSide Local, for a farm to table establishment, it was a great, cool& relaxed vibe, with a bit of retro& industrial thrown in. This could give the place we go to in Oklahoma City, a real run for it. Thank you for the wonderful food and excellent service. We will be adding this to our Kansas City Munchies collection.

Yelp
This place is a legend for a reason. The food is fantastic! The environment is quaint and fun. The service is always outstanding. Highly recommend this place!!!!
google avatar

Renee B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, wait staff, tasty eats. It'd be nice to see tater tots and fries replaced with organic homegrown items as it would lend well to the eclectic flavored dishes.
google avatar

Bree G.

Yelp
I have been here twice, both times with a fairly large group. Service has always been amazing, and the food is even better. The Brussels and the tater tots are both MUSTS for appetizers. Sriracha chicken sandwich is incredible, and the meatloaf (of all things??) has been declared "the best in the world" by multiple people at my table. Don't forget the inventive cocktails...you can't get a Milk Punch in many places, definitely try it here. It's PERFECTION!

Alyssa K.

Yelp
Their fritters on the dessert menu were fantastic! We ordered hamburgers, but the star was the hot chicken sandwich.
google avatar

Dominic W.

Yelp
We were very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! We waited about 30 minutes for a table in their outdoor area which was very cute. They even have gas powered heaters in case it is a little too chilly. There is a good variety in the menu items, so there is something for everyone! Plenty of items with customizable options such as adding salmon, removing bacon, etc. Their cocktail menu is expansive - and you should get the Andromeda - gingery, delicious goodness!! The sweet potato quinoa burger was well-seasoned, and paired well with their Parmesan fries. I wasn't a big fan of their ketchup, but hey that's just a small detail. We also got their Kale salad with added salmon - their salmon was seasoned well, but the salad was a little bit bitter. I think it was because they burnt the fried crispy shallots and that made it bitter, so that was a little disappointing. The shallots that weren't burnt did add a nice touch. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items!

Yelp
Had an excellent dinner at Westside before a concert last night. The Spinach Dip was easily one of the best I've ever had and the Jalepeno Jam Burger is the best burger I've ever had. The elote tots were also fantastic! Overall very pleased with the experience, only downside would be it might be a bit overpriced. I am happy to pay more though for great food.

Yelp
Hadn't been in years and I forgot how good Westside Local is. Great spot for exceptional food and drinks when you don't want or have time for the production of fine dining.
google avatar

Kay L.

Yelp
I came here for a girls' brunch this past Sunday. This is such a great local restaurant. I hadn't been here in several years, and it was just as good as I remembered! Also a heads up, if you haven't been here before, it may take you a while to find street parking nearby. The atmosphere is very laidback, the service is great, and the food is freshly made. They offer several food and drink options for Sunday "blunch". I got a half portion of the cereal milk French toast and a side of breakfast potatoes. Honestly, the French toast was just too soggy and sweet for me to enjoy, but that's really just personal preference. My friends all enjoyed their meals, and I think next time I would order something savory instead. The portion sizes are very large, but they do offer half-portions for certain menu items.

Yelp
this place is so good!!! I went to visit for lunch with a couple of friends and the food was so good!! the fries were amazing and so was the kale salad! This spot in Kansas City is brunch heaven! the vibe is modern and lively, and the menu is a mix of classics with a twist. the pint of fries and kale salad at this brunch spot are sure to satisfy your taste buds. The service was exceptional as well !

Yelp
I had the delightful experience of joining a group of friends for dinner at the Westside Local last week! Our server was Miranda, and she was FABULOUS! Even though it was a Friday evening, and there was a group of us, she took care of us as if we were the only diners in the restaurant. Some of our group asked for substitutions, and there were several questions about the menu, and we all needed separate checks--Miranda handled it all with grace and charm and a smile. She was friendly, efficient, and genuinely committed to ensuring we had a great time while we were there. I appreciate her taking such good care of us--she was a major reason that we had such a wonderful evening. The food was AMAZING! I'd never been to the Local, and I was very impressed with their farm-to-table menu and the varied offerings. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and my meal was absolutely delectable! The bread on my sandwich was toasty without being greasy, and the cheese was ooey-gooey delicious, and the tomato soup was so thick and rich and well-seasoned that it was almost a tomato stew. :-) I paired it with a petite Syrah which was equally delightful. My dinner companions all raved about their choices; one of the gentlemen ordered the bison meatloaf and shared a bite with me, and it was exquisite--tender and flavorful. Several members of our party had tater tots with their meals and couldn't finish them, so I volunteered to take them home; I had them the next day and can vouch for how tasty they are! :-) Toasty without being greasy, and nicely seasoned so that they don't even need catsup. The ambience at the Local is so warm and welcoming; the vibe is almost that of a family gathering in the dining room at the holidays. The dining area is small enough to feel cozy, but the high windows and ceiling (they took out the original first floor, so now the walls extend up through the second floor) keep the space from feeling enclosed. It's still light and airy and extremely comfortable. After my first time at the Local, I'm definitely coming back! I can't wait for my next great meal in such a great space and with such great service! Thank you!

Yelp
This is always a home run, Sunday brunch is top notch with seasonal items. Dinner of all things, try the kale salad! Great service, setting, do make a reservation.

Yelp
Mediocre Food, overpriced, cocktails, and very slow service. I finally made it to Westside local with a group of eight friends last night. I can't say that I was impressed with the menu. It's certainly not what I expected. The only thing I did liked was the kale salad and that was a bit on the sweet side. I got the Reuben which was $16. Virtually tasteless with no pickle on the side. The cocktails were interesting but way overpriced. If you're going there with a large party I believe over seven they add the gratuity of 20%. I have to say that I will not be back. the Taqueria next-door looks interesting. Total for one Ruben sandwich and two cocktails plus gratuity tip $61. Completely not worth it.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! We went on Sunday at noon with no reservation. They said it would be a 30-45 min wait but some people ended up leaving pretty quick so we got in by about 15 minutes! The food was really good--the biscuits threw me off since they were really flat, but they were still yummy! I would definitely go back and absolutely recommend! And it's especially good if you have a vegan or vegetarian friend since they have plenty of options for them and for the meat-lovers!

Yelp
Okay this is an up and down review so stick with it. Service was horrible and we had a reservation. Bad news. Then we had multiple items come late and with errors. I'm attaching my dish which was supposed to have beef. The only beef was pushed to the side for sure. Yikes. Then the waitress lied about prices when we asked about dishes. Not a good look. I will say my dish tasted good but the presentation sucked. They charge too much for items too.

Yelp
I have been waiting to try this place out! I went on a Saturday night and they were pretty busy. I had to wait about 15 mins for a table. I decided to go for the blackened chicken Sammy! BOMBBBB. The chicken was juicy and not dry by any means. The sauce used was amazing and the melted cheese just topped it off! I only ate half of my sand which and the next day the other half warmed up was just as good! The other person got the blackened salmon dinner and it was a nice size! The sides it came with were delicious as well. The people working were all friendly and the hostess made sure to keep me updated on our wait time as we waited to be seated. I can not wait to go back and try their brunch out!
