I absolutely love this bubble tea place! The drinks are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — not too sweet, just right. The tapioca pearls are soft and chewy, and the variety of options on the menu is amazing. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the shop itself has a cozy and clean vibe. Definitely one of my favorite spots to relax and enjoy a great drink. Highly recommended!

Very cute shop. One quirk is that you have to place your order through the electronic kiosk where the register would be, but the barista was friendly and told us to ask if we had questions.
I got the Whale Crystal, a drink of blue coconut milk and tao jiao (peach tree jelly). I would’ve guessed that the blue came from butterfly pea flower, but I didn’t actually pick up on any flavour besides coconut. The drink was very good - the tao jiao had an interesting texture and very subtle floral taste. It didn’t really taste peachy. The barista recommend mixing the drink before drinking and I will reinforce this recommendation since I think the texture and flavour of the tao jiao were best when combined with thee coconut milk. The sweetness level was not adjustable for the drink but I didn’t think it was too sweet at all even though I usually take my drinks with low sugar. I really enjoyed this unique drink!

Yelp
I haven't been to State College in a while. So I'm not sure when all the uni-marts closed down and reopened as boba tea places? But I can not believe how many of these tea places are all over State College! After passing like 12 of them I finally got sucked in - and I entered The Whale Tea.
The place was cute. I ordered a large Matcha tea - and the picture on the wall said it was one of their top items ordered. It probably took about 10 minutes for them to make it - but there were a lot of people in and out so I wasn't expecting it to be made too fast. They called my number so I went to get my tea. The picture on the wall showed the tea had boba but my order didn't have it. When I asked they told me the picture was misleading since they don't put boba in the matcha - but they said they would put it in mine if I wanted them to open the seal. I let them add it - bc why not?
The drink was absolutely delicious. One of the best matchas I've had. The price was almost $8 which I thought was insane bc it is muuuuuch cheaper to get matcha in Philly. I'm not sure how all these college students can afford this almost $8 beverage - when I was a college student that would not have been even close to being in my budget - I prefered spending my cash on dollar beer pitchers. But these expensive drinks seem to be all the rage w current students.

Yelp
It was really good but remember to shake it other wise the tea will be like drinking chunky throw up.

Yelp
I wanted some boba to go with my Korean fried chicken, so I found myself stopping here. The lady working was super kind and talkative, she made it enjoyable. She said the most popular drink was the brown sugar milk tea, so I tried that! It was good, reallly sweet for my preference but maybe I can find one that is a little less sweet. Will be back to try a different flavor!

Yelp
Ordered the brown sugar milk tea (fresh milk tea, less ice, 70% sugar, tapioca) and it was near perfect! I ordered through snackpass which said it'd take 15 minutes but was much less than that. I got to the shop just a little after I ordered and the friendly worker was just finishing it up. Everything tasted super fresh--boba was just a little chewier than I prefer but my first sip the boba was still warm (so it was fresh freshhh)
The shop itself is super cute and somewhere I could definitely get some work done or hang out with friends. Not too quiet, not too loud.
This is much pricier than your average boba, I paid $7.10--but I personally thought it was worth it. Cafe Wow or Momotaro use to be my go to depending which I was closest too but I will be going out of my way if I have to go Whale Tea :)

Yelp
They have some non-dairy options. I had the lychee blended drink at half sugar and it was really good. The cups are really cute. It's a little expensive. Unfortunately they're closed on Wednesday's, but it's nice they have kiosks to order drinks just like cafe wow and other boba places in the area. There aren't great descriptions of each drink (like the whale drink is blue but you don't really know what is in it). They don't have pudding. Will probably keep going. Wish they had a loyalty card.

Yelp
I love this place!! The owner is lovely. Best boba in state college by far! Love the taro milk tea and brown sugar milk tea.

Yelp
Powder, fake tea. Taste is extremely bland, so you feel like you just burned $7. Service is fast. The place is ok, but not really somewhere I can see myself sitting down at. I tried to find a good drink at this place, and it's not like the drinks are bad. But they are extremely overpriced and shouldn't be marketed as fresh tea because that tea is not fresh the taste isn't even there. Not worth your money, go to the other tea shops downtown.
