The Wheatbaker is hotel in the heart of Ikoyi; while it provides all services of the hospitality business, I have been here mainly for meetings over the years. Surprised that I never rated or commented on their service previously. Their service is truly impeccable, from the gate. The staff are very welcoming and ready to help. The meeting room is usually clean, well arranged and fresh fragrance. Sound system, air conditioner, sitting arrangements and condition of the furniture are commendable. The food is well made and arranged professionally and you will always find some banqueting staff hovering around to ensure everything is working well. The rest rooms are clean. My only challenge so far is the small parking lot, when there is meeting, cars are parked outside and around the hotel. The Wheatbaker, on the whole, is highly recommended.

There is nothing to dislike about the hotel, it smells nice, staff are courteous, rooms are properly cleaned and spacious. I don't like tile floors, so I gave a 4-star. It is as regular as any other famous hotel in Lagos.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location is excellent and safe. The breakfast was a buffet with several food options. They were well prepared and delicious, too. My room was spacious and clean. Indeed, the room was religiously cleaned every day of my stay. There was a generous supply of good tea bags and cookies. I ordered room service a couple of times and was satisfied with the food and quality of service. The staff at the reception discharged their duties professionally. I will not say the same thing about the staff at the restaurant. Uber cars were readily available. I patronized the bar once and was satisfied with the services rendered. I left the hotel at about 5.30 in the morning and was surprised that it took me about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

The Wheatbaker is at the very top of upscale hotels in Lagos. More, because of its location. It’s off a major road in the upper class neighbourhood. Stayed here for 7 days and not much to complain about. The food was very tasty and the and menu had a selection to appeal to most. Buffet was excellent. Service delivery was top notch with a few things that can be improved on. Guests staying over a few days should have their provision refreshed daily and should be treated as someone checking in newly. Parking could be a challenge when there is a function at the facilities. Renovation was ongoing so unfortunately the gym, swimming pool and some other facilities were not available.

Spa is located on the second floor of the hotel bearing the eponymous. . Take the spiral stairs as you enter the hotel and turn left. It is down at the end of the corridor. Lady was very nice who did my facial. She examined my skin and suggested which facial I should do. Raved about thai facial and her experience. Also mentioned about the products they use; multiple times. Service is on the expensive side. So know what you will pay before you come. That is why I gave a photo of offered services with price. I couldn’t find it anywhere.

First the good: the hotel is centrally located and close to everything we wanted to do. Getting Ubers was relatively easy (except for the airport) and the hotel has a nice art collection. The breakfast buffet was good if you eat a lot of meat but not many options for people who don’t eat meat. Most of the staff was nice and pleasant. ||The not so good: upon arrival the hotel attempted to charge us for a complete extra night just to check in four hours earlier than the check in time of 2pm even though rooms were readily available. They also wanted us to pay extra for our airport pickup because our flight was delayed by one hour even though we gave them flight info for tracking weeks in advance. They did not disclose any extra fees until check in. They wanted to charge for everything they thought they would get away with. The food for room service was terrible. The rooms were not very clean as the vents were full of dust and lint and the bathrooms were moldy and old (the bed linens were clean though ). ||Overall, for the price, I would choose another option in Lagos.
