"A Wee Dram I'm a regular at Ponsonby's Whiskey Bar and I'm not even a big scotch drinker. If I was though I wouldn't be disappointed - there are literally dozens to choose from and Phil the bar manager knows each of them personally. With rock 'n' roll hall of fame decor, pumping 60s and 70s music, cocktails made with the right amount of love, and seats out front to watch Ponsonby Road, Whiskey is always top of my list for a good night out."

Sad how a place can turn so meh in the space of a few months. That short bald guy he needs an attitude adjustment, why he is working in hospo is anyone’s guess. Rude and creepy.

I stopped by for a cocktail on my way to early dinner. Excellent drink. No one else. It gets hopping later.

The only positive is the band. They are quite rude If you have had pre-drinks, so ensure that you arrive sober. Security pushed dad out of the bar, and threw a punch at my fiancé. Drug bags lying on the bathroom floor, so clearly they aren't use to people who are tipsy! Rather go to the family bar where you always feel welcome.

Menu is all classic cocktails. Ordered a Manhattan, bartender read recipe from the menu and did equal parts sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, and whiskey. Cocktail not worth $5, let alone the $20 they charged.

Stunning service here! Good (live) music, quick service, friendly staff. Special shout out to the girl with dark hair, the tall dude with long hair, and the guy with blonde hair. All of the bartenders here are fantastic and I tell everyone I know that they should patronize this establishment. I've always felt safe and welcomed here.
