"You don't need to travel far off the mountain to find a great après spot. Just head over to WhistlePig Pavilion, located at Spruce Peak. Here, you can get an upscale craft cocktail made with WhistlePig rye whiskey while sitting around one of the outdoor fire pits and taking in the last views before the sun goes down." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. Nice place with great atmosphere located at the base of the Stowe ski slopes. The wait staff was awesome explaining the menu and options. The food was excellent, tasty and priced a little high but considering where they are and the limited number of people they get versus a restaurant, one would expect a little higher prices. Now let me get to why they only get 3 stars. Whistlepig, the whisky brand whose home is Vermont, had a wide selection of their famous whisky’s. I ordered their basic Old Fashioned ($28). Needless to say I was pretty disappointed in this drink. It came in a plastic “glass”, with regular bar type ice - the kind that melts pretty rapidly (and dilutes the drink) instead of the big cube one would expect from a nice place that serves their signature brand. The drink had a sliver of an orange. This drink was something you’d expect to pay $5 for at a local bar. Very underwhelmed and a total let down. Whistlepig should work on this. This let down actually made me reconsider buying a bottle of their whisky to take home with me (I didn’t buy one). Oh well - at least the food was good.

It’s 5/5 for atmosphere however the food options were limited and the pretzel we got was too salty to eat. All the seats inside were warmed and they had a live performance. One thing to keep in mind is that they have a community seating- meaning you might share your table with other families if they are busy.

Excellent place to eat after riding the gondola. The bartender and server were very friendly and efficient despite the place being slammed. Get a seat on the outside to get a the nice vibes of the courtyard along with a nice view of the mountains

What an amazing establishment located within the heart of the village at Spruce Peak to have a drink, some food, and listen to music. This establishment has only been open for a handful of years, but it has been a great idea! Made the village much more lively. The BBQ is out of this world, the chef is very nice, we highly recommend the WhistlePig!

Always a fantastic place to stop in Apres. The food is delicious and cooked right on an open fireplace. The Whistlepig whiskeys are worth a try. Highly recommended

Absolutely loved this place, 10/10! Went there on Saturday and I booked my reservation in advance so that the table would be ready since they get pretty busy. The food is amazing, we got the humus platter and a steak that comes with the cheese that’s being baked in the fire place. They gave us free whiskey shots at 3 pm on a Saturday, as well as free desert!!!! I was shocked.. I’ve never gotten anything free from a restaurant before so that was new to me lol. The service is amazing, they also sat us down next to the fire stove so I couldn’t get my eyes away from it. Best experience 🫶🏻 Loved it, would come again !!!!

Chef Tyler is making mountain food exceptional up here. I'm always disappointed with most mountain lodge food. I sampled the pulled pork, and it was flavorful and oh so tender! I enjoyed a few of the house made chips, and they're seasoned with a blend of sweet, savory, and tiny bit of spice! It's just right. You keep eating the chips! The corn on the cob was also delightful! It was also seasoned well. Plenty of Vermont butter too! Charles was running the bar and taking our orders. He was delightful and friendly! He chatted with us and told us to make sure we visited Smuggler's Notch! We did, and I'm so glad he told us about it!

Recently came here for some food and drinks. We had all the intentions to eat, but unfortunately just had beers as their food was not affordable.
