Lovely upgraded twin room with well-stocked bathroom. Looked newly refurbished. One with care and sophistication. The only drawback is that it faced the high street and was noisy early morning.|The breakfast was excellent: no buffet, but anything you like from a copious menu. Coffee was very good.|He dinner was goog and the outside tables in the courtyard were useful in the recent heatwave.

We booked a family meal for 7 of us on Father’s Day. |Dom our waiter was attentive and gave great service. Gluten free options were good and Dom also explained if there was something I wanted that wasn’t GF on the menu he would talk to the chef to see what could be done to accommodate. |Half the family had fish and chips which they all enjoyed with two different portion sizes available. The rest of us went for Sunday roasts. The plate sizes were enormous and very generous. The food was all top notch along with the puddings, again these were generously sized. |Would highly recommend and will be visiting again!

We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at the white hart royal. We found it to be an excellent base location, especially being so near the train station. Our room was lovely and the whole vibe was relaxed and positive. The staff were excellent- at reception, in the bar and at breakfast. We are already planning when we can stay here again.

This is a very character-rich property loaded with charm. Being so old it does not have air conditioning so everyone should expect that. The beds are comfortable, nice sheets, and they enabled us to store our rented bikes easily right outside our room with direct access to a back patio which was very convenient. We had a good dinner our first night but the young guy who served us (also works behind the bar) literally forgot about us and seemed to have left his shift at 10PM. Only after flagging down the hostess half an hour after ordering our dessert did she discover the kitchen staff was never alerted to the order. She was lovely and also serves breakfast in the mornings. I forgot to write down her name but she provided very good service in a genuinely friendly manner.||I *might* say I'd recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Moreton In Marsh but all it took was one unpleasant interaction to kind of ruin the overall experience. We had a data-only sim card for our phones while there, no cell service for calls. I needed to call the bike shop rental that's just down the road and discovered the hotel phone in the room does not allow local calls, only calls to the front desk. A person who answered "0" said we could use the one at the front desk for a local call. When I went there to do so the woman acted put out. She said "most people have their own phones" in an annoyed tone. I said "sorry to bother" - the operator said we could dial a local number and just needed it for a minute. No reply, didn't look at me, just handed me the phone after dialing the number and seeming irritated that the shop had a menu to go through so she "just dialed one" because she didn't want to listen to the whole menu options obviously. After I was done I again said sorry to bother because I truly did not want to be a bother. Again no reply, no acknowledgement, no eye contact, no "of course not a problem at all!" or anything remotely service-oriented. Maybe she was having a bad day but it really left a cold feeling. Then when checking out the same person said nothing about thanks for staying, hope you enjoyed it, etc. nothing at all. Because of this it marred an otherwise pleasant stay here. Also another manager on our second day seemed slightly annoyed when I asked if they have any washcloths (they only have midsize and large bath towels) and he said they're on order because so many people want them. I asked if he expected the order to come in the next couple days and he simply said "no" in a curt fashion, as if it was irritating. Mind you I asked in a gentle polite way, not a demanding or entitled way at all. I think these managers maybe need a vacation LOL like anyone might need a break from a job.

This hotel is amazing!! We really loved our stay. It’s only a 7-ish minute walk to the train, breakfast is included and was delicious, the restaurant and pub attached were great and there are shops and bus stop right outside the door! The staff was lovely and there were lots of places to sit and chat and have a cocktail. Our room was very small, so if you’re a heavy packer be sure to ask when booking. And of course there is no air conditioning, which is to be expected. We popped the window open and it cooled down quickly.

A really lovely historical pub (with a hotel and restaurant) in a gorgeous Cotswolds town. The courtyard filled with plants is a special feature but the inside is just as interesting with civil war artefacts and an air of authenticity. The service (all table service - even for drinks) was excellent too. I hope it's listed!

What a wonderful hotel, with clean, updated rooms and a number of luxurious, comfortable lounges. The clean room had a very comfortable bed and many pleasant surprises, such as a radio that allowed us to listen to local classical music while relaxing. What rooms have that? |Also, the bathroom was wonderful and updated, which we didn't expect in an older hotel.|Best of all were the various staff members, who made us both feel like special guests. |Would highly recommend this if you're in the area. Also, very convenient to the train station, restaurants, and nature walks.

Yelp
Being American, we never get to see these type of establishments, where the pub, restaurant, and lodging are all In one place. Seeing as how we loved every bit of this place, this is now the standard by which all other places will be judged. They went out of their way to ensure he had an early breakfast because we had to depart early. The pub was a great place to relax and it was nice and relaxing. Hope to come back again with my wife so she can experience perfection.

Yelp
A 17th century travelers' inn updated with modern day comforts. We stayed on 2 separate occasions - the first night, we struck gold with a spacious room that included a soaking tub, sofa and coffee table, and writing desk. On our return, we were in a smaller room but it was equally comfortable. The front desk staff are excellent. We loved sitting in the gardens having cocktails, and would recommend the restaurant for breakfast or dinner. The location is perfect, right in the center of the historic town and just a few short, walkable blocks from the train station.

Yelp
Moreton-in-Marsh isn't the liveliest of towns but once I found White Hart Royal I was happy. First, there's "Snug Bar", a low-ceilinged, fireplaced, bar/eatery that welcomes dogs inside and feels a bit like one has stepped back in time. The menu here had things not featured elsewhere in town (i.e. risotto) though the Fish & Chips were the star. Snug Bar, I think, is one of the best dining options in M-i-M. After hanging out here for a good long while I used the restroom and found another room, off the hotel's main dining room, where they had games and books (and bar service). An opportunity to play Scrabble late into the evening proved a win as did the nearby outdoor patio space where one could probably do any of the things I'd already done here at that point. I failed to dine in the hotel restaurant or sleep in a hotel bed but knowing that I killed a whole evening here doing things I enjoy easily made me a fan.

Yelp
This hotel went back on their word and burned customer trust. They gave us high confidence about getting a refund for an unused room but later flatly went back on their words. This is pathetic behavior. Avoid such distrustful hotel at all costs.

Yelp
Stayed here sept 2022 on hiking thru Cotswold's experience with 9 friends from U.S. Hospitality was fabulous, rooms were great, food was superb...could not have asked for better accommodations...staff was excellent...we would give extra stars if we could. rlw

Yelp
We've stayed in several hotels/bed and breakfast inns in the Cotswolds and though the main areas have character and charm, the rooms we were given, 101 and 102, were small, cramped, and soulless. The furniture was cheap (veneered and not even pretending to be period pieces) and the bathroom in one of the rooms and shower were tiny! Only one person could be in the bathroom at the same time. The floors also sloped. The rooms were clean, though, and they did have a Nespresso machine in the room. Also two chocolate bars and some cookies--a nice touch. We would choose another place to stay if we had it to do over.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at The White Hart Royal hotel. The staff was very welcoming and there were plenty of places to hang out in lounges and we really enjoyed our delicious meal in the pub.

Yelp
I cannot recommend the White Hart Royal enough. Right in the heart of Moreton In Marsh, I spent my day before a Cotswolds walk here and it set me up perfectly for my trip. The dinner was magnificent and I felt totally taken care of by the staff. The breakfast equally so. I cannot rave enough about the staff, they're kind considerate and friendly. Would recommend to anyone.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights while traveling through the Cotswolds .. we had two rooms both were the Stable Rooms and they were great - beautiful and so clean . We are picky ! We were very pleasantly surprised how they were seemingly newly redone and clean as a whistle ! Better than you would expect I. These small towns. Breakfast was sit down and made to order but they also gave us something to take out for our late sleepers ... dinner was also delicious. make sure to eat early or get reservation earlier in the day for dinner for the few restaurants in town were booked - The town itself is nothing much to see . It was a great central location for us to see all of the Cotswolds because we had a car . I would stay here again for the hotel was excellent - but as for a town I may stay in a quainter looking town like Bourton on the Water , Chipping Campden or Stow in the Wold. Stay here if you want a central location and a great experience of an inn in the Cotswolds with all of the cleanness and everything newly redone - I have asthma and was very worried about older, musty rooms and it was clean clean clean and new to look old ! Top notch !

Yelp
Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. When we arrived, my husband had been sick all day and was miserable. They were so kind. I asked for a quiet room, since he was feeling bad, and they upgraded our room for free to a quieter location. Then the next morning, they took the time to ask how my husband was feeling. We were in a bit of a rush to hit the road, being a bit slow to get going after a sick night, and they offered to make us breakfast sandwiches that we could take out (we had included breakfast with our room). The food we did have was very tasty. For breakfast they offered a menu as well as a continental style breakfast. Menu ranged from porridge to traditional English. Room service is available with a limited menu. We slept in the Four Poster Tudor room, which had a nice sitting area, 4-poster bed, and generous bathroom. I slept like a log. The history of the hotel is wonderful (read the booklet included with the room). Definitely worth your money.

Yelp
We just wandered in off the street and found an interesting selection on the menu, received exceptional service and all dishes were very well presented and thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended!!
