A lovely little pub and accommodation. The rooms were recently updated and the 4 cottages by the side were 2 storey with bedroom downstairs and bathroom upstairs. This room was delightful and roomy and the ensuite was brilliant. The whole room was clean and well provided. Evening meal was a speciality pizza night and was excellent. Breakfast also scrummy. All in all fab stay.

A lovely pub that follows the traditions of English country establishments of its kind. Great food served from an excellent menu, and a good range of beers and wines on offer at this village location, which offers plentiful parking opposite. Will definitely be heading back there in the future. 😊👍

Lovely place to stay while walking the Ridgeway. Very dog friendly, lovely pub inside and out, my sister and I stayed in twin room that was very spacious and with a lovely bath. Most of all though, all the staff were really smiley, welcoming and friendly, couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Dinner was absolutely delicious and incredible value in current times (we had gammon from the steak night menu, puddings each (loads of gluten free options which were really tasty too), and a bottle of wine - came to £65) and the breakfast was one of the best.

A lovely pub restaurant and b&b. The rooms were recently upgraded and there are 4 cottages detached but adjacent to the pub. They are little treasures with each room being 2 storey, bedroom downstairs and bathroom up. Lots of space and beautifully presented and spotless. Evening meal was a pizza speciality night and it was delicious, breakfast was also scrumpy. All in all a lovely b&b.

Twin Room was ideal. John was just great and his staff were good too. Food was delicious. A wonderful garden to sit in. Lots of young people as well as the more mature made for a very good atmosphere. Breakfast was very good indeed. Recommended.

Together with two other couples we made a booking for Sunday lunch at the White Horse but at 2-30pm a little later than planned. We were served by Miss Hart who was great and my wife and I ordered the Roast Beef, as did our friends wife, both male friends ordered the pork, and our other female guest ordered the chicken. In all cases the portions were generous with extra veg, gravy and horse radish. We were very pleased that it was an exceptional meal, so much so dessert was not taken although the cheese cake and the crumble looke delicious. A real treat for us and our friends from Somerset with no rush to throw us out when meal completed.

A beautiful and welcoming hotel. The main building with all its historic charm retained and the bedrooms main and well equipped . There was a wide choice of ales and our dinner was delicious. Breakfast featured local ingredients and was very tasty. We were very pleased with our choice of stay and will return when we can

My partner and I visited here for Sunday lunch after seeing it online and looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately, we were both extremely disappointed by the service. It took over an hour for our mains to arrive, and to make matters worse, the starters we wanted were already sold out—even though we arrived an hour after the first service. Then, after another 45-minute wait for our desserts and having to continuously chase the staff for updates, we then went up to the bar and were told the kitchen couldn't find the flavor of ice cream we had ordered. We are really unhappy with our experience, feel like we wasted two hours of our Sunday, and won't be coming back.

Yelp
We'd spent the day driving (on the wrong side of the road) and by the time we arrived at our B&B, there really wasn't much of a choice of food within walking distance. So I used Yelp to see what choices were within a short drive. I called White Horse to see if they could take us for dinner, and they suggested not waiting much longer as their kitchen closed at 9 (it was already 8.) I set the GPS and off we drove! If you've driven in rural UK, then you know that the roads are narrow and unlit. In the middle of nowhere, the GPS announced that we had arrived. So, I called again, described where we were as best as I could, and was advised to "keep going." About 5 minutes later, we arrived. We each ordered a Greek Salad. Often, the amount of cheese is pretty limited, especially on less expensive salads. Not so at the White Horse. The salads were absolutely loaded with delicious feta cheese, along with yummy cucumbers and tomatoes. Unfortunately, I can't remember the rest of the food we ordered, but it was all good. Had it been a bit warmer, we could have enjoyed our dinner in a lovely outdoor garden area.

Yelp
this place feels very authentic, in a way that i enjoyed a lot. it's a very old building with a low ceiling, open fire. the food was excellent, i had a steak and a salad, both of which i enjoyed a lot. prices were fair (and certainly below london standards). would definitely go here again, if the occasion arose.
