The White House Guesthouse

I love this place! It is so peaceful and quiet, located right on the coastline overlooking the ocean✨ I rate the experience 5 Stars as they have good and friendly service, the accommodation is clean and the atmosphere homely - at the same time professional and leisurely.

Location was perfect what a view of the sea we had appericated it all yes for those that didn't enjoy there stay well next time please research before booking we stayed in the president suite and all I hav to say is wow what a experience. The staff was very polite and the rooms very well done. It's a home away from home although short but plans are in place for a revisit.

Yhe rooms are clean, spacious and modern with all the relevant facilities and excellent service.

The toilet seat is broken, the shower head sputters and spits, the bath hot tap doesn't supply any water, there are ants everywhere including the bed. Before booking I said I would be flying in and need a space where there are healthy food restaurants close by. I was reassured that there are three. The restaurants in the area are not healthy food establishments at all. A Greek salad does not constitute a healthy meal. I came to have a two day break from the frustrations of life, it brought more frustration than anything. The view is sincerely the only good thing from this experience. I really tried to practice patience and kindness through this experience, but with a 4 star establishment, I absolutely should have received 4 star service without needing to practice patience.

If there was an option for a minus rating, this place could certainly fit the criteria. The sealine back view is the only warm and beautiful about this horrid place. The white old witch who welcomes all guest is the most evil and cold person I have ever met. She's rude, condescending, racists and insufferable. There is no signage around the house, so guests are expected to guess where everything is including parking. I had a stranger come to room with the host while I was half-naked only for them to curse at me for parking at the wrong spot of the BnB. When my colleague and I tried to move the car we were told "you people are stupid" by another old witch man who was disrespectful and racists too. The rooms are bathroom are below par and dirty. We were also told to not open windows at arrival, so I never bothered. We left for an evening work engagement and upon our arrival, someone went through our staff. I honestly feared for my life and hardly slept the whole night. I was sure that I was going to be killed in the middle of the night after what I went through. I can't even finish the rest of this story but anyone who thinks this is a guest house please go and spend your money elsewhere. What a horrible experience :(

Terrible experience. Sad that the moment we walked in, the owner Heather couldn't even greet us but started lecturing us on how we're not supposed to open the sliding doors. Left our car outside on a strangely extreme steep driveway to check in only for Heather to bring some drug addict guy (who I suspect is her son Daryn, I think) into my half naked colleague's room attacking her over the spot we parked the car on, when it wasn't even clear where parking is. We then had to leave for an evening programme only for someone to go through our bags after we left. We came back around 21:45 and prepared to sleep only to get an old and torn brown blanket which was smelly, dirty and with visible white dirt marks, dirty pillows too. The owner and her family are racists who referred to us as "stupid black people" over a parking matter that was not communicated when we arrived. We moved our car down the steep driveway and came back up with such difficulty, not stairs to help patrons. Not recommended for physically disabled individuals. Tourism department to note the reviews. Place he as nice sea views but is delapitaded.

Cleaners were rude and demanded a tip to clean and change my bed linen.

What a wonderful place! We stayed at the White House self-catering presidential unit and the view out of our window was just breathtaking! Our children enjoyed the swimming pool so much. The service was excellent - we didn’t expect to get free soap and shampoo, normally at self-catering units it’s not provided, so we were grateful for the pleasant bonus! If you are visiting East London or are driving past and need a stay for a night - this is the place. We will definitely be back at the White Houses again!
