We lived in the Whitney more than 4 years. Our 3 bedroom apartment was at Villas, with large terrace which makes it really special, very convenient for family with kids/teenagers and the dog. Very pet friendly community. In 2024 amenities were renovated and there is a very nice and big pool, new gym, new social spaces… in every apartment building you can find something what needs to be improved but we really enjoyed our stay and overall I consider the Whitney as 5 star!

I've lived at The Whitney for 2 years and have enjoyed being here. The staff is terrific! Edwin, from the maintenance team, is very responsive and helpful. Anything I need help with in my apartment is handled promptly and efficiently. Edwin and the concierge staff are always willing to help. Thank you to the team!

The maintenance personnel at the Whitney are absolutely top notch! Both Edwin and Delight are quick to respond to requests, and quick to fix any problems. They are prompt, professional, effective, and always friendly and courteous. On every occasion they try to be as helpful as they can.

This is the 4th Bozzuto managed building I’ve lived in during my 10 years in the DMV and by far the most disappointing. The concierge and leasing staff here are generally unprofessional, unfit for hospitality, and ineffective. Additionally, this is one of the only buildings that didn’t offer any move in specials or military discounts at the time. The past 6 months of lobby and amenity construction, paired with the the general unpleasantness of the staff and the lack of community make this price point very hard to justify. The pros would include the location close to the metro and the maintenance staff. They are kind and quick to respond. The property itself seems to be well maintained post-renovation.

I've lived at the Whitney for about 7 months now, and it has been a great experience. My apartment is solid, well maintained prior to my renting it, and any problems which may arise (few as they are) are addressed quickly. I very much appreciate the responsiveness of management and staff, and I also like how management keeps everybody informed about activities, work, potential disruptions. The parties are fun, too, and a great way to meet neighbors.

We have family who live in The Whitney and we were able to rent the guest apartment. We were very pleased with our stay. The concierge's were very kind and helpful. I even made the smoke alarm go off, and the concierge helped me with getting the oven back on. Great location, our family loved it here.

Unfortunately I had to update my previous review after living at The Whitney for longer than a few months. In only two years: 1. I've had things stolen out of my car in the Whitney garage (when I reported this to the office, they said it has happened several times before, and when I asked about installing cameras they said its a cost issue - granted each tenant pays about $200+ a month to park in their garage) 2. The elevators are constantly breaking down, and you have to take two separate elevators to get from the garage to your apartment. Multiple people have been stuck in the elevators at different times. 3. The Bethesda Jazz and Supper Club is directly underneath/attached to the apartment complex and they have concerts 5-6 times a week that go well after 11pm, even on weeknights. The bass from the music shakes the whole apartment during the concerts. 4. The apartments themselves get such little air flow that every single time I cooked, I had to open the window and the door to the hallway so that the alarm wouldn't go off (this is not an exaggeration, every single time I had the oven above 400 degrees the alarm went off, despite how clean it was.) but the worst experience has been with the property manager, Michael. He barely ever responds to emails (I had to get additional leadership involved just to get a response from him) and he never seems to be at the location or at work. As far as I can tell, Azha runs the entire property. And despite having to live through 5 months of intense construction, Michael was less than helpful when we wanted to move out because of all these issues, on top of the construction. I don't recommend living here. It's not at all worth the price. Didn't even make it two years and I was out ✌🏻

We moved into the Whitney in September and have been very pleased with our apartment and impressed with all of the staff. We toured a number of other apartment buildings in Bethesda and DC, and are delighted with our choice of The Whitney. This move represented a huge change for my wife and me, since we downsized from a 4 bedroom house in upstate New York, and we couldn't be happier with our space. The Whitney's location is perfect for accessing all that Bethesda and the surrounding areas have to offer. We are a few minutes from the metro which allows us to get into DC very easily. The buildings are very well maintained, and there is clearly a strong sense of community among the residents. We are very excited about our new life at The Whitney.

Yelp
I have been living at the Whitney going on 13 years now. I've seen many changes over the years. Most changes have been great. The best part about living here is the community we have. I have so many friends in the building, not just acquaintances but real friends. We get together often and go places together on a regular basis. And what helps our community is the fact that the Whitney staff takes such great care of us. Since the new property manager, Jessica Hendrix came on last year she has been the best one yet since I've lived here. That's not to say previous managers were not great. It's just that Jessica far exceeds the others. First, she really listens to you about anything you need to tell her. Speaking from personal experience, I was going through a bad time personally and was extremely angry over what were really small issues and took it out on Jessica. Not only did she respond immediately to my concerns, she remained calm and caring and listened. I was wrong to be so angry and apologized. She gave me the time to explain to her where my anger was coming from and she understood and she didn't get angry back at me at any time. She just wanted to make sure I was okay and she did whatever she could do to correct the issues I had with the problems that came about to begin with. I didn't deserve her forgiveness or kindness, yet she still gave it to me. I've never seen a property manager stay so cool, calm and kind when a tenant (me) had gone off on her. I've seen her handle other tenants in kind when they've been upset about an issue with the building or whatever issue that made them upset. She will do her best to make things right. I can't speak highly enough of her. Jessica also has upgraded needed things in and around the building that have been way overdue and has plans for future things to make living here even better. I hope she never leaves. We (the residents) have so much more to be happy for about living here. The best person is our day time concierge. Her name is Lorraine. I call her Rainey. Without her the building would not function as well as it does. She loves all the residents and will give you the shirt off her back. She is professional, kind, extremely helpful and is a great friend to many of us living here. She works tirelessly to put on all our events at the Whitney (and we have many events all year long) and is great at it. She works long hours and participates in our community activities. She's one of us. She's just amazing and that's no exaggeration. Whenever she's off for a even a day you can tell she's not here because some things fall by the waist side. Not real bad things, but you just know it's her day off. Rainey takes such great care of us just as Jessica does. Rainey goes out of her way to help everyone, even our four legged friends. She's always at the ready to greet everyone's pup. She's become such a dear and close friend to me. I hope she never leaves either. Again, I can't say enough great things about her. The maintenance staff is superior. Marcus, Francisco and Javier are fantastic. They respond to the needs of the residents and the building very quickly. They're so friendly and work very hard every day. Marcus and Francisco are fairly new but you wouldn't know it, they fit right in. Javier has been here the longest and I'm happy he has stayed on. He too is always willing to help a resident out at a moments notice. The other long time staff member I want to acknowledge is Donato. He is the weekend concierge on midnights. Again, such a friendly person and always up to talk sports with you for hours, amongst other interests. We've been fortunate to have some of the best concierges here over the years. Sadly many of them have moved on and are very much missed. The new people who come to take there place have big shoes to fill. I'll mention them by name because that's how important, helpful and kind they were and were some of the best we've ever had. They are Claudia, Maria, Charles and Renee. I miss them so much. While no building is ever perfect, the Whitney is darn close to it. Bottom line is, it's the community and staff that makes it a joy to live here. While other new apartments have been built over the years lately, they can't come close to The Whitney. They may have more or better amenities, fancier decor and other things, however, all the "bling" they may have isn't important as the community we have here. It's like a big family for most of us living here. I plan to stay for many more years until I retire and move back to Texas. I wouldn't want to move to another apartment complex anywhere else in Bethesda. If I have inadvertently left someone out I'm so sorry. Pam Aarhus

Yelp
We love living at the Whitney. Lorraine, the main concierge, is the heart and soul of the building. She goes out of her way to provide great, friendly service to everyone in the building and is always there with a smile. Even with her mask on, you can see and feel that smile. Marcus and the maintenance team are also outstanding. Maintenance is taken care of swiftly and effectively. This is a class operation.

Yelp
Very expensive and what do you get for your money? Place is falling apart, management is confrontational. They use only the cheapest materials to patch things up, doors frequently jam. Be forewarned too: Many neighbors are elderly and will complain about anything you do - even being on a work Zoom meeting in your own apartment, because the walls are paper thin so you can hear right through them.

Yelp
The staff at The Whitney are excellent! Michael Haller is extremely helpful, patient, and responsive. Highly recommend in your search for a Bethesda home!

Yelp
Congratulations to our wonderful Lorraine nominated as best Concierge of the year and to Marcus as best Service Advisor for Bozzuto. Totally deserving of these honors. They are simply terrific.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I just moved in and I couldn't be more pleased with our choice. Basically our lease had to start within 72 hours, and the leasing agent Suzie went above and beyond to make this happen. My last job was for a property management company at my old building, and coming from the background it's easy to recognize great people. I'll be the first to admit I was needy with this application, it's my first "real" apartment (in my opinion the first one didn't count because it was the building I worked for, I didn't have to do much but move my stuff in.) Suzie was there every step of the way, even showing my boyfriend and I around 3 separate times. When we actually moved in there were cute little things left all over, like stuff for the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. And it's a GREAT place, especially for the price. Over all I highly recommend!

Yelp
We've lived at the Whitney for 2 years and just signed the lease for our third. Without a doubt, the management company Bozzuto is amazing and honestly the concierge and the maintenance staff are the golden standard of what makes leasing optimal. The pros: 1. The concierge and maintenance staff are superb. I can't stress this point enough as the main reason why we stay. The people I interact the most with are Lorraine, Shanika and Noah. They have all witness me doing spectacularly dumb things like drop my keys down the elevator shaft or try to swipe my metro card instead of my key fob yet are the utmost reliable and professional people. I checked repeatedly with Lorraine who remembered the one random day the outside elevator maintenance people came to fix the elevator and saved me a couple hundred in replacing my car keys. Marcus, Francisco and Javier on maintenance are always very pleasant and quick in addressing any complaints. The Whitney is just very good in particular and responsive in addressing complaints. They will send out building wide emails to notify everyone of resolution to complaints as well as resident events. 2. Our one bedroom is amazing. We do not face Marriott and we haven't noticed any noise from the construction. The great view from the upper levels doesn't hurt. We've gotten lots of compliments from our friends. 3. Amenities - The unlimited printing and lounge is well appreciated. The pool is also very well appreciated in the summer (you have your own locker rooms as well by the pool). There's also a small gym in the building, but you're better off trying out Next Phase studio (2 minute walk across the street) or another gym if you want a more intense workout and a separate stretching space. 4. The building services team keeps a very good job in keeping the elevators and public areas clean. 5. They finally made this place smoke free! FINALLY. When we started here in 2017, it was not so on certain floors it wasn't so nice. The cons: 1. The walls are a bit thin. While we are insulated from the theater downstairs, we have definitely been woken up more than once at 3am to barking dogs. 2. Comcast internet sucks. Overall, I would recommend the Whitney. You're dealing with professionals on every level from the janitorial staff to the management company. I did look at the lower star reviews on the site and I disagree with them. a) Utilities like electricity, gas and internet are expected to be set up by the tenant. Typically, the management company will help out in sending you the bills for water/sewer plus or minus trash. b) Yes over the summer, there was elevator trouble, but that was very clear due to the storms, preexisting wiring issues and very much out of the elevator hands. Management actually sent out weekly emails explaining the situation. I live on the tenth floor and did have to walk down some times, but since I've been living here for greater than 2 years, I would say that this was the exception.

Yelp
This is the worst apartment experience I have ever had. My bad experiences started since Month 1 of my stay here. The only thing standard about this apartment is the rent. Everything else is a problem. Especially Utilities. If you are coming in new, please make sure you know what you are getting into. From electricity to water to sewage, nothing is management responsibility. If you have any questions regarding the billing, they wont have much of an idea. When it comes to management taking responsibility, well... lets not go there.

Yelp
The management at this apartment complex is seriously lacking. My husband, our dog, and I had been feeling ill for a couple of months (have only lived here for 4 months) and have racked up medical bills as a result. We finally discovered this was all due to mold from a leaking air conditioner tray behind the wall to our closet, which caused a massive amount of black mold to grow behind the wall and eventually penetrate through. We immediately contacted the management upon discovering the mold. The mold has not been properly remediated, and spores are now growing back through the paint just applied over small sections replaced in the wall. Management seems to have zero concern for our health. We had to be pushy and take several hours off work to argue for staying in the guest suite while trying to look for another unit. We were finally told, after insisting that we wanted to move to another unit, that a unit that is much smaller than ours and with no outdoor space was basically our only option. The assistant property manager even made a flippant comment that tenants usually don't even get to discuss moving before 6 months but we could just look at units anyway. Management does not even have it together enough to ensure we can move into the new unit on our agreed upon day (tomorrow) nor that the new lease was properly written - it was emailed to us the day before (today) as the last member of the management team was walking out the door, to basically ensure we couldn't correct anything nor ask any questions. We have emailed and called numerous times over the past two weeks, and our emails go unanswered and calls ignored. I finally copied in the regional manager on an email and "magically" got a response from the property manager within 5 minutes, but she has since dropped the ball and the regional manager never even acknowledged my email. The leasing agent suggested that we just bleach our furniture, because "if you can't smell the mold, that means it's gone." I'm about at my wits end at this point. When you choose what is supposed to be a premium location and pay a premium rent, you expect at least common decency and concern.

Yelp
After touring over 10 apartment complexes in the DC metro area, it was a very easy decision to go with the Whitney. What stood out most to me, right from the beginning, was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. When you commit to a one-year lease (or more!), you want to know you can live with people who you can trust and be comfortable around. I had moved from California, and the Whitney became my first home. After living here for nearly two years now, I call this place my home because the concierge, maintenance, and neighbors (and their dogs) have become my friends and family. Everyone is very friendly and are great neighbors. I've never had any complaints - noise, delays, or hostility. The people at the Whitney are wonderful. Another unique feature of the Whitney is its impeccable appearance. The building is beautiful inside and out. All the amenities (gym, pool, and common living room and conference room) are new and updated in a timely manner. They are always kept clean and decorated to each season. In my individual unit, all the appliances are very new and if I require assistance, maintenance is always quick. Lastly, the Whitney is in a great area. It is a quick drive or bike down the street to the NIH or the beltway. It is a 5-10 minute walk to metro/Bethesda Row. There are many great local restaurants, the Capital Crescent Trail, and markets easy walk away. I highly recommend visiting the Whitney for a tour to learn more. There are a lot of housing options in the area at about the same price range ($100 - $300 difference). Believe me when I say quality and comfort varies greatly in the area. At the Whitney, you truly build a home.

Yelp
I moved into the Whitney last June from my house in Bethesda where I had lived for 25 years. I wish I had moved long before this. The building is well managed and well maintained. The staff is excellent, especially Lorraine who plans special events that you can join, or not. Last night a food truck came to the front door, selling the best cheese sandwiches ever. The building is beautifully decorated for the holidays. The building is well-insulated and quiet. And the pool, during the summer, is a wonderful retreat. This building is unique in Bethesda (I looked at every one, I think). I hope I never leave.

Barbara D.

Yelp
I've lived at the Whitney for nearly two years in the "02" series, which has lots of light. The downside? Electric bills of $250 per moth or more during the summer, which is roughly double the norm -- though I invite others to weigh in. That's even after the HVAC unit was replaced. I'll elaborate when time permits.
google avatar

Claire K.

Yelp
The management here is terrible. Move elsewhere. I have a neighbor who smokes marijuana multiple times a day and the management refuses to do anything about it despite residents' complaints. The smell is constantly in the hallway and it fills up everyone's apartments. I had to buy multiple filters for my apt and I still cannot keep the smell out. You would expect much better from a place that costs thousands of dollars of month!

Yelp
Having lived in over a dozen different apartments over the years, I can easily recommend The Whitney as the best building I have ever lived in. The building has great amenities, especially for families; the pool is well maintained with a lifeguard on duty at all times. The gym, while small, offers all the essentials and is always clean. The Concierge team is always pleasant and helpful, and the management team is genuinely eager to address any issues in a professional and timely manner; this is a very rare trait. The apartments themselves are spacious and well laid out, the public spaces are immaculate and the maintenance team is always quick to correct any problems. I highly recommend The Whitney to anyone panning to live in Bethesda. It has an easy access to the Metro and by car, many dining options within a 5 minute walk and a CVS across the street; essential when living with young kids.

Mark L.

Yelp
The Whitney Apartments in Bethesda are well maintained and professionally managed. The concierge staff is friendly and always helpful. They are always focused on the resident experience and do everything they can to make this a great place to live. We could not think of any place better in Bethesda. Special thanks to Lorraine, Kiera, and Melanie who go above and beyond for everyone here.

Yelp
07/16/2018 UPDATE: STILL A ZERO/FIVE STARS. June 18: Email from the Whitney that elevator renovations were kicking off, with each of the three cabs "estimated to take approximately 3.5 days to complete". June 28: After having worked for a week on Cab #1 and regularly commenting to new incoming residents and prospective residents about how beautiful the new cabs will look, Cab #1 goes out of commission. June 28: Resident Appreciation Day (Isn't it #BozzutoRAD that residents typically only have one functioning elevator!?) July 16: Cab #1 still down, no message from management regarding how/when their vaunted renovated cab will actually be available for use. We, the Whitney residents, are now on day 19 of having the use of only two elevators, one of which is REGULARLY scheduled for trying to move in/move out new residents or for construction workers, who are NOT working on the elevator....residents having to build elevator wait time into their morning commutes...residents' dogs getting into altercations in the elevator...furious residents complaining to one another about how Property Manager does not respond to their calls... THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. IF YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE BROKEN ELEVATORS IN A HIGH RISE BUILDING, YOU NEED TO BE COMMUNICATIVE TO YOUR RESIDENTS ABOUT YOUR EXPECTED TIMELINE FOR REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. HOW IS GOING TO YELP OUR ONLY RECOURSE HERE? DO I HAVE TO POST A DAILY #BOZZUTORAD UPDATES TO YOUR TWITTER FEED TO GET YOU RESPOND TO YOUR RESIDENTS?! AGAIN, THIS IS UNPROFESSIONAL.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Second winter with drafty windows in bedroom and dining nook, thanks to sh*tty construction and exterior upkeep. Management response? Blame condensation on moisture we might generate when it's only the two drafty windows icing over.

Sarah S.

Yelp
AWFUL!! I don't feel safe living here. This is the WORST apartment building I have ever lived in. If you are looking to move to the area, for starters, look for a building that has cameras inside of their parking garage. My car has been broken into AND keyed. Yet, nothing is resolved. They either have a resident issue or a population creeping into the garage at night causing mischief that they need to get under control. The residents aren't friendly, mannerly, or considerate. For the price they charge for rent, you can most certainly find a place that has high standards and high customer service. This is NOT the place.

Michael M.

Yelp
A VERY NICE PLACE TO LIVE AND TRULY PET-FRIENDLY I moved to the Whitney in Bethesda nearly ten years ago, after having lived in a house in a nearby neighborhood. I had a three-year-old dog then, so I needed to find an apartment where I and my dog would be able to live together comfortably. I knew that the Whitney was such a place, because while walking with my dog I met several Whitney residents walking their dogs, and they enjoyed their apartment living experience very much. After moving in, I found that quite a number of people had dogs, and that the dogs were uniformly friendly and well-behaved, as indeed were their owners. There has always been a sort of consensus etiquette about making sure that dogs are well-behaved, well cared for, that they socialize well with other dogs and people, and that their owners maintain strict standards of hygiene everywhere, both inside and outside the building. Residents and staff make sure the area outside is well kept up, so carefully and regularly that non-residents passing by are not even aware that any dogs are living there. There are also resident-friendly and well-established dog walking and dog tending services available, to accommodate people who have heavy work schedules or travel obligations. Cats are also welcome, and services are also available to assure that they are fed and well cared for when their owners have to be away. I have lived here for more than nine years now, and the management and staff have always shown me and my dog every kindness and consideration. My dog grew old and had a happy life here. He recently passed away, and I am older too, so I thought it might be better to have a sedate cat this time. And Concierge Lorraine went out of her way to help find me a really nice cat, and he is sitting nearby as I write this! For people in Bethesda who love their pets and want a great place to live, the Whitney is definitely where they will want to be.

John L.

Yelp
The staff at the Whitney are wonderful. They are always seeking ways to create fun events for the residents. At times, The Whitney feels a bit like a dorm for adults. From book club to painting night to the writers' collective to wine down wednesdays--there is something for everyone.

Carlos C.

Yelp
I just moved into the Whitney and the move in process was seamless. Carlos and his team are world class. They were able to get me moved into my apartment within 5 days of my tour. Carlos took ample time showing me multiple units and helping me compare which was better fit for both my budget and lifestyle. The entire staff took time to even remember my name and treat me like family, which was very special for me considering I am new to the area. The building is state of the art from top to bottom which is nice but what really makes this place home are the people.

Brett L.

Yelp
My life and I have loved our time over the past year at the Whitney. We left as we moved out of town but if we return, will be happy to return to the Whitney. The staff is great, the maintenance was never a concern, and the residents are friendly. There are quite a few dogs which we like. The units are recently modernized and we enjoyed all aspects of the interior of the unit. When the windows are open, there is a few amount of noise and light coming from downtown Bethesda but that is probably to be expected living in the middle of a city. Two blocks from Woodmont Triangle and tons of restaurants. Ample parking underneath the building. Two blocks from the Metro. Right behind the building is a neighborhood which is nice for a quiet walk.

Annie H.

Yelp
I have lived at the Whitney for five months and I am loving it. I haven't lived in an apartment in many, many years so downsizing was a little scary. But it has been such a wonderful experience. The staff are so friendly and the building is always kept in great shape. It has a gym and is so close to everything in Bethesda including the metro. My favorite part is that the staff are so dog friendly. My dog Mischief has adjusted wonderfully and always looks forward to the treat after his walk. Would recommend it highly.

Evan G.

Yelp
I moved to Bethesda for work and spent about a year at the Whitney. The building definitely felt clean and secure, but I think the thing I liked the most about it was how welcoming and friendly the staff were. Aside from being helpful and genuinely nice people, even the little things they did like checking in on my cat and watering my plants while I was away on business made it a pleasant place to live. Another plus is the location. There's a Safeway grocery store across the street and down some steps, the Bethesda Metro stop is no more than 5 minutes away, and there are a ton of different restaurants to choose from in Bethesda Row or up in the Woodmont Triangle. The prices seem pretty standard for nicer urban apartments although everything in the Bethesda seems high for someone like me coming from a rural area. Overall, though, I'd say I enjoyed my stay at the Whitney.

Yelp
We've now been in the Whitney for two years. A wonderful community with great staff who are very helpful. Maintenance has been great and a special shout out goes to Elliot and his team who are very responsive to maintenance issues. BUT-- there is one major issue which has become somewhat of an eye sore given how well the rest of the building is maintained-- the elevator bank and the elevators leading to the resident floors are in major need of refurbishing/refinishing. We were told over a year ago that the elevator interiors would be refinished with new facing but they have only gotten worse. The building management should realize that it's a turnoff to anyone seeking to rent a unit-- it's one of the first things someone sees. It's become a joke with our friends, whom we tell it's "on the schedule for next month"-- but that doesn't work month in and month out. We love this place-- but I guarantee anyone who cares that the elevators do make a difference!

Candace S.

Yelp
You have to compare price for value. The price for the Whitney is very high, and the value is good, but not what you would expect for paying well over $2K each month for a 1 BR. The utility bills in the summer (if you live in a higher floor) is SHOCKINGLY high. In a 1 BR, you need to keep the A/C running 24 hours a day for it be bearable. Friendliness and professionalism of the staff can be great one day, and deplorable the next. The building engineers are friendly and responsive. The people that live here are really great and friendly. There is definitely a sense of community among the residents. If you have a larger dog and need to live in close proximity to downtown Bethesda, this is basically your only option since most other apartments require you to have a small dog. All in all, money for value, I give it a 3.

Marina A.

Yelp
Worst management I have seen! It takes them forever to fix anything you ask them to fix, you need to follow-up with them constantly (so you can get it fixed), they send invoices wrong several times... You basically need to spend A LOT of time managing them, which you shouldn't do when you pay rent that includes hefty management fees. The corridors of the building are not clean, there is a lot of pretending here but they fall short on many aspects. Not an expect in the area, but terrible experience. Spend your money elsewhere!

JoAnn B.

Yelp
This is probably the worst choice you can make in Bethesda for apartments. They're overpriced and the management doesn't deliver the services promised. Furthermore, they treat the residents poorly. All they care about is how much they can gouge you for rent, parking, pets, etc., -- even after you leave. They will charge you for the carpet and water in your empty apt and send you threatening e-mails.They hike up the rent yearly even during a recession. Stay away from these rent gougers.

Yelp
I've lived here for 2 years and would not recommend this place to anyone. I've been dealing with bed bugs in adjacent apartment that they are just now getting under control after 2 years. Sure, they brought in pest control however, I've had to wash dry and or dry clean everything I own three times. When I asked for a break in rent to compensate for my time off work and increased financial burden they said "what good will money do you". I was called opportunistic and was advised their compensation to me was letting me out of my lease early - this from the Regional Manager. The inefficient windows result in $200 / month Pepco bills in the peaks of winter and summer. I was told that is "average" for this property. It has been a extreme disappointment because the staff and maintenance crew are fantastic- I expected a lot more from a company like Bozzuto, especially those in leadership positions.

Yelp
I've lived at The Whitney for a few months and I really love it! The location is great--very close to metro, restaurants, and shops. The building is well-maintained and very clean. The concierge staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is very small for the size of the building and can be crowded at peak times. I live on the 4th floor and I can sometimes hear music from Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club downstairs. It's not terrible, but not ideal. All in all, it's a great place to live!

Yelp
So glad I moved out of here. Terrible management and probably the most expensive apartment community in Bethesda. There are plenty of other buildings in this area, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Yelp
I lived in the Whitney for 4.5 years, and only moved due to a new job back in NJ, where I am from. I loved living in the Whitney- convenient location to everything, the pool, the grounds, the staff, especially Lorraine, Laura, Elliot, and Tiya. Any maintenance issue was resolved immediately. While you may find an apartment for less rent, the location of the Whitney cannot be beat. I can't say enough great things about living here. I miss living in Bethesda, and very much miss living in the Whitney.

Yelp
I live in an apartment in this complex and have lived here for 4 months. In that time I have had 3 major leaks and the air conditioning has failed twice. One leak was in the Master Bedroom closet and the maintenance staff cut out a huge hole in the ceiling and left it that way for a week. Another major leak has resulted in large portions of the living room ceiling starting to give way and buckle. This place is a nightmare and I am paying over $3,000/month.

Yelp
The new management team is really trying to create a positive environment and address concerns of residents, so this is a well managed property!

Yelp
we have lived 5 happy years at the whitney. very friendly and responsive staff (special kudos to elliott for maintenance- master of problem fix). great location (backs to tree lined residential streets), beautiful pool and common areas, great party room. i recommend the whitney to anyone looking for easy, happy, pseudo city living.

Yelp
I lived in one of the townhomes at the Whitney for three years. The location is ideal since it is walking distance to Bethesda shops, restaurants and the metro, yet there is enough space on the property for a pool and barbeque area. Even though I had my privacy living in one of the townhomes, I had use of the common services, including concierge, fitness center, pool, barbeque area, and computer / printing services. My only complaint, and the ultimate reason for why I ultimately moved, is that the Whitney offers only rentals. However, for anyone who is interested in a rental property in an ideal location, they should seriously consider the Whitney.

Yelp
This is my third year living at The Whitney and I absolutely love it as much as I did as the day I moved in. I've lived in two different apartments, one a two bed two bath and the other a one bed one bath. I have greatly enjoyed both layouts! The building is well managed and maintained. The pool is refreshing in the summer, the BBQ/patio area is perfect on warm days and nights, and I love having a gym in the building. Also, the convenience of the location cannot be beat. Just a few minutes away from the Bethesda Metro Station and near lots of restaurants and shops! Last but not least, I feel like the staff really wants to know who you are and truly cares about you as a person, not just a resident. They greet you with a smile and address you by name. That makes a big difference in my book when I think about where I want to live. In between living in the two bedroom apartment and now the one bedroom, I actually searched around other apartment buildings in the area to see what else was out there. After visiting several and meeting with their staff, I instantly chose to stay at the Whitney. No other apartment building that I visited gave me the feeling of home as The Whitney does. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to live in Bethesda.

Yelp
The Whitney has been going downhill fast! I started to talk to management over 2 months ago about the air conditioning in the building or lack there of to be more exact, and each day I get the same response:" we are working on it" It has never been taken care of and their cardio room is even worse! There is no air circulation, the machines are dirty, sweaty, and broken down all the time. The Tvs have never worked properly either. The bathroom in the main hallway is stuffy, smelly, and disgusting. Sometimes you find urine, etc... All over the floor! Also it's not uncommon to find pools of urine or dog poop in the hallways or stair areas. The apartment hallways are also smelly and dirty, especially in the trash areas. People do not throw their trash away properly or put trash in the recycle bins that leave bugs and smells that are uncontrollable. I often find the stench of cigarette smoke filling the hallways at times as well. I would also beware of the numerous times things break down or fall apart here at the Whitney. Whenever it rains, the mail room gets flooded, and since I've been living here the garage door for the parking has broken down a lot. It took them several weeks to fix the door, and while we wait for the repairs the door stays open-yes! Anyone can just come in or park in our garage. During this time, we had several break ins and some peoples' bikes were stolen! I can honestly say that there are several issues with this apartment complex and I will be moving out as soon as my lease is up!
