The Wick, Hudson, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

We stayed at the Wick over the Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed our accomodations and a delicious breakfast! We were also scheduled to stay over Christmas, but, alas, the dreaded flu bug hit the family! The manager, on her day off, and with a phone system at the hotel that had gone down at a crucial time for any business, helped navigate us through the cancellation process. Tamsin, the manager, was OVER THE TOP helpful, kind and patient with our needs and requests. She is a extra special part of The Wick Hotel, as were all of the staff throughout our stay in November!! We are both handicapped and EVERY accomodation was handled without any hassle!! We'll be back!! Highly recommend staying here if you're in the Hudson, NY area!

We had an excellent stay at The Wick, Hudson, while attending a wedding at Basilica Hudson—an unbeatable location just a short walk away. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the ample parking behind the hotel was a major plus. Our group enjoyed hosting a welcome drinks gathering in the bar area on Friday evening, and we’d like to commend Kimberley for her outstanding service—she managed everything smoothly despite working solo. The guest rooms were clean and comfortable, though ADA access between floors could be clearer, and we didn’t immediately see designated handicap parking. Breakfast was adequate, but with Hudson’s fantastic local cafés nearby, there are plenty of great alternatives. Overall, The Wick offers a convenient, stylish, and welcoming stay close to Warren Street in Hudson.

I am really sorry to need to write this review but my experience was awful. The hotel has an oligation to let guests understand that a few rooms (including mine #131) are really more like a basement dungeon than $380-$500 per night upscale hotel room. ||Upon check-in, they claim you are getting a beautiful room but due to this being a historic building, it "may not get the most natural light." Well, that is an understatment. What they actually mean is that they are placing you in the basement dungeon which is moldy and dank. There are no windows. I could hear mice or rats running around in the walls in the middle of the night. It's pure corporate greed to use this room for a paying guest (which needs to be storage.) I feel swindled. It was a punishment that I paid for. After some negotiating, they took $50.00 off but it was still completely overpriced for a musty & dank dump with mice in the walls. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is a saavy, self-repecting traveller. Read the negative reviews - they are all correct. ||To end on an upbeat note, I did enjoy the veggie burger and fries. But the rest of my experience was a nightmare.

I loved this hotel when it opened. Absolutely loved my 1st stay in a large double room with 2 queen beds. The room and bathroom were looking clean and smelling fresh. This spot left such a good impression I would continue to stay here but with each visit it seemed to go downhill. The fresh clean look it had has definitely fallen off. The rooms look run down, the furniture ripped and beat up, beds made sloppy and the towels looked old and used. I would love to see this hotel get back to the way it was and I will be back.

If you’re just looking for a place to stay, The Wick would be a great place. The rooms are clean and the location is great. However, as a hotel hosting our main room block for our wedding, they were nothing less than a nightmare. The hotel is only 44 rooms but within the year of working with them, they gave away the rooms in our room block twice and it took months to get them reinstated. They made it right with a credit, but the stress of it was absolutely not worth it. The brunch the morning after the wedding was yummy, but the drama with the room blocks poisoned our entire relationship with them.

Victoria and every single staff member at the WICK were wonderful. She helped us arrive with everything we needed already prepared. We had a great stay and feel like this is our home away from home.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but it is a Marriott. We stayed downstairs on what they call the first floor that is below the second floor check in desk. Somewhat noisy & the bathroom floors were certainly cold. No carpeting in the rooms Beds were very comfortable & the room was decent. Can easily walk into town from there. Prices were high. Was not impressed with the restaurant down the street called kitty's which is somehow related to the Wick.

We stayed at The Wick Hotel recently, and our experience was mixed. It used to be a place where we felt genuinely welcomed by friendly, outgoing staff, but this visit left us disappointed in several areas.||Positive notes|- It was wonderful to see Quin and Maria still on the team. We’re glad one of the original guests-facing staff (OGS) is still there and contributing to the ambiance.|- Quin in particular stood out as a bright spot during our stay.||Areas for improvement|- Guest service: The overall level of service felt lacking compared to prior visits. We missed the warmth, attentiveness, and proactive hospitality that Alison and Jordan consistently provided in the past. Their absence was noticeable, and the interactions with the staff this time did not meet our expectations.|- Staff consistency: Having different faces and a lack of continuity in service can affect the guest experience. The standout friendliness from Alison and Jordan was missing, which diminished the overall feel of the stay.|- Food quality: The meals were extremely lacking in quality and presentation, to the point where we did not finish our food. This was a major letdown and detracted from the overall value of the experience.||Recommendation|- The Wick Hotel has the potential to be excellent again, but it would benefit from:| - Re-emphasizing guest-service training and consistency, with a focus on friendliness and proactive assistance.| - Encouraging staff retention of long-time associates who guests have learned to trust and love, such as Alison and Jordan, or ensuring new staff reach a similar level of warmth and attentiveness.| - Reassessing the kitchen and menu quality to ensure meals meet guests’ expectations and provide a satisfying dining experience.||Overall|We hope the management takes note of this feedback and strives to restore the level of hospitality and culinary quality that once made The Wick Hotel a standout. We still appreciate Quin and Maria’s continued presence and hope to see more of that same welcoming spirit across the team on future visits.

We enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Wick. Nice to have complimentary water, coffee, and tea at the front desk at all times which was handy when we'd stop into the hotel in between outings. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely beautiful! We stayed on the 2nd floor, which is the main floor from the front of the building. If you stay on the 1st floor on the front of the building, you are actually below ground, but are at ground-level on the back of the building. The parking lot (which is located behind the hotel) is a little scary as there is an abandoned, broken-down building just behind the hotel. Thankfully we were able to park in one of the few spots that are right up next to the hotel. We did appreciate the parking lot option (which is one of the reasons we chose to stay here over other hotels)--some hotels in Hudson only have street parking with parking on opposite sides of the street depending on the day, which we didn't have to deal with here at The Wick. We had breakfast the first morning were were there and it was reasonably-priced with good portions that kept us full! Geraldine was a nice hostess who made us feel welcome and gave us some recommendations on places to check out in the area. Elizabeth made our stay extra nice through her friendliness when purchasing snacks one evening, and all staff other members were friendly as well. We would definitely stay here again!

We just had a very nice stay at the Wick. This hotel is head and shoulders better than your average place to stay in upstate NY. It was originally a candle factory, hence the name. It's across the street from the train station and a short walk from Warren St. The staff were uniformly nice and helpful, but Allie stood out. Our room was very comfortable. It was up to date and quiet. The bed was supportive. The HVAC worked like a charm and the bathroom was modern and nice. We stayed on the second floor after friends didn't enjoy rooms on the first floor. The complementary coffee in the morning was much appreciated. The minor negatives- the common spaces are small and look out onto a parking lot. The Wick is a great base of operations for a car free visit to Hudson.

Pick this spot because it is close to where we are heading. The place is clean, the AC is awesome! And it is a historic place! Giving it a 4 star because the parking is not as convenient. The fire detector lights up at night and so is the sprinkler. Had a hard time sleeping but i am willing to give it a try. The room we had to book had two queen beds, the room was spacious and also has Keurig ready to use.

Booked a junior suite - after the check-in realized the photos you see on the Marriott Bonvoy site - do not match what is provided by the hotel - the abrasive and abrupt Front Desk clerk blamed that on Marriott - although the rooms are spacious - the junior suite does not come with the claw foot bathtub as pictured just a walk-in shower - there's no chair in the bedroom as pictured - and there is no dresser or any type of storage unit with a drawer that you can use other than the closet - the clerk did offer to provide extra hangers. So plan on living out of your suitcase - we ended up using the window sill - see picture. Be aware many of the rooms are on the first floor and are fishbowls to people passing by. This hotel is off the beaten path as well. I wish I had done more research there appear to be many more charming hotels, right in the town. Having lifetime, platinum plus titanium status meant nothing here.

Nice contemporary hotel (in an old candle factory) within walking distance to the train station and most of the fabulous cocktail bars that now dot downtown Hudson. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Parking is included.

The town of Hudson is definitely a place to visit. Mostly charming with prerequisite chic shops (and some run down as well) and lovely walking and a nice park right at the train station. But this is a review of The Wick. May is high season so I expect higher prices but the value just isn't there. The cleaning staff missed my room (they had plenty of time) , the lower floor rooms are dark, A/C could be better in the atrium area, for a boutique hotel I expected more. Nothing special. Not a good value.

Had a great long weekend at the Wick. My husband and I flew in from Seattle to explore the area. Great location, room, and staff very friendly and helpful. A lot of restaurants nearby and Amtrak is within walking distance.

Stayed here again after ~5 years for two nights. First visit was OK, I forgave many shortfalls since they'd recently opened. This visit - no such grace provided. It wasn't good. In the morning we were greeted every few minutes with a loud hum / buzz, and every 20 minutes or so it seemed a train approached the station with a loud whistle. Both very intrusive in room #304. The most direct path into town is up a flight of treacherous stairs. I'd have thought by now that Marriott would have improved the parking and area surrounding the property. The Tesla charger is a nice touch, albeit much slower than a supercharger. Our room has a metal rebar rod going through the ceiling which appears to be there to prevent the walls from collapsing. A bit scary, to be sure. Lots of flashing lights and odd noises. Tough to sleep. Last time we stayed here it was a more relaxing experience - perhaps because we were on a lower floor facing the other direction? It's unclear what has changed - but neither the service nor the amenities are up to snuff. The shower pressure is average. I wish we had gotten a tub. The worst of all though is how much lost sleep we had this morning. Truly the worst noises I've heard in a hotel room in years. I'm hopeful the same doesn't occur tomorrow morning. Update: nope, still train noises and inconsistent buzzing sounds starting at 5:30AM. If it were a consistent hum it might be manageable. It strikes when you least expect it. Also, the bed linens are far too crispy.

We booked this hotel from Friday to Sunday for my niece's wedding. Her wedding was at the Basilica which was literally down the street. As soon as we came to this hotel Ally was amazing. She made us feel so welcome. Bobby also was amazing. Whatever we needed he was there. I highly recommend this hotel!!

DO NOT STAY HERE! Their ground level rooms have no windows, and you will be hearing chairs dragging, heavy objects falling, constant footsteps until VERY LATE AT NIGH, 2AM and only to START AGAIN AT 5AM! I asked to move rooms and the person on the front. desk told me they were sold out, although their website still had rooms open to book? The bathroom had urine stains on the door (hoping that was from a pet not human, see pictures) In the morning I asked for a refund because there is no way my room should be rentable, the noise is out of control. The lady at the desk was very nice and told me she could only offer a 20% refund and points. I said ok, I got the a few points but never the refund. That same day, I emailed Marriott to share about my stay and ask for a full refund, they followed up with an email the hotel would get back to me, I have now sent three email follow ups and no one has responded to me. DO NOT STAY THERE, AND BE AWARE OF MARRIOTT, they clearly don't care about customer service.

This hotel was ridiculously overpriced for what we got. Bathroom was dirty from prior guests, tv wasn't working, food was not great either. Hotel management was not helpful in trying to resolve my complaints and doesn't want to come to an agreeable agreement. Save your money and stay at the Fairfield inn instead. It'll be a much better bang for your buck. Management here we're jerks.

This was a beautiful hotel. I only stayed for a night but everything was well decorated and clean. The staff was very welcoming and friendly while checking me in and serving breakfast. I really appreciated the little touches too. They had lotions, mouthwash, ear swabs, and more in the bathroom. Only possible negative was that I heard snow plows around 5am which woke me up. But the bed was comfortable so I fell back asleep quickly.

We love this hotel. Great location, park your car and walk everywhere. The staff is friendly,courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious.

The other week, I contacted The Wick Hotel regarding storing our luggage for a few hours. Management was extremely kind. They allowed us to leave our luggage at no charge. And then they arranged a ride/mini tour provided by the "Mayor" of Hudson. The hotel is well run under the expert guidance of Jill Moroh, Director of Sales and Marketing and Allyson Lotz, Guest Experience Coordinator.

Majority of the Rooms are in lower level - Basement. Smells musty and of Mold. This is certainly Not worth the Portfolio Collection rating from Marriott.

Not worth the rates they ask for at all. Not even close. It's like a Best Western in terms of luxury. Typical corporate employees on the group sales level. They do the bare minimum and are not versed in handling requests for group stays. If you are looking for a clean place to lay your head and nothing else, no amenities, comforts or anything resembling boutique hotel service then this is your place. Otherwise it's just an overcharging chain hotel.

Hotel is very nice in terms of aesthetics, but several problems significantly lowered the quality of our stay. We paid a significant premium to upgrade to a suite with a deluxe bathroom, and that was a definite mistake. The lighting is beautiful, but the lights in the bedroom and the main room are on the same switches. When I woke up early and went out the main room, I inadvertently woke up my partner when I turned on the light. We couldn't believe it, but there is absolutely no way to have light in the living area without also having the bedroom completely lit up. In the bathroom, the problems started with the shower, which did not have any kind of curtain or full glass door. The minimal glass water shield was wildly insufficient for keeping the water in the shower, so we ended up spending a lot of time mopping the floor with the single tiny bathmat. However, the bathtub was the biggest disappointment. We had been looking forward to using the gorgeous soaking tub, but when we got there, the drain stopper was encased in enough grime to be off putting. Despite that, we decided to soldier on and attempt a soak. After running the hot water at maximum pressure for 20 minutes, the tub wasn't even half full, and we decided we had better ways to spend our time. The final kicker is that the tub's shape prevented it from draining completely, so we had a nice shallow pool of standing water in there for the remainder of our stay. Other problems include: the staff trying to convince me that the down pillows were not in fact full of down, the strange stains on some of the furniture, the fact that the heating system sounded like a jet engine (earplugs strongly recommended for the heating noise as well as the shriek of the nearby train), and the lack of TV in the bedroom. Overall, if we'd gone for the most basic room and gone in not expecting much, we probably would have been fine. However, after paying $400/night for a premium suite, we were very disappointed by the decidedly less than premium experience.

Great place to stay In Hudson, NY. They do require a two night minimum for weekends. But overall I enjoyed my stay!

The hotel itself is really simple and well designed. The rooms are very restoration hardware vibe, spacious, and beautiful clean bathrooms. The food there was actually quite good and the included continental breakfast was very nice. The only thing keeping me from giving 5/5 stars is two fold: 1. most rooms are on floor level, which means you literally have people walking on a sidewalk out your window and valet right outside your window depending on where your room is. The windows aren't tinted or mirrored, so I literally made eye contact with several people as they walked by and looked in. 2. the kitchen closes for a few hours between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. In an area like the one that it's located (sparse options), it was kind of disappointing that we couldn't order a sandwich at 2:30pm. The staff was FANTASTIC, by the way. Super friendly and kind.

Opened waaaay to early to function properly. Very poor quality hotel, lights in suites are too bright and all on 1 switch, feels like your at work. Website lists amenities that are not available yet. They should not be charging the full price when it's not at full speed. Will not suggest this hotel. Staff was very friendly! Quality and attention to detail for an executive suite was worse than an airport hotel, VERY DISAPPOINTED. Locals we spoke to said they've all heard the same. Rushed to open and it shows. Some of the Executive suites are below ground and without windows... who does that?!?! They have a window, but it's a view of the metal keeping the ground back for the emergency window escape route and street is above with metal grates. Put your event space underground and expensive suites with the windows... obviously a design firm was not used as many of these details would not have been missed. Or the owner value priced everything out... more likely the case. Carpets and wallcovering was nice. So many details missed, a lamp but no electrical outlet to plug it into. The bedroom lights are on same switch as living room... WTF?!?! An enjoyable soak in the tub was adverted as the lights are as bright as a public restroom, no dimmers anywhere. No place to hang a towel next to the shower, must walk across room to get your towel. DETAILS!!!! The bedroom Reading lamps next to the bed are not reachable to turn off from bed either nor do they provide enough lighting to read in bed. No tv in bedroom either, but other suites have them. Doors were cut too short, you can see at least an inch under door and VERY loud, can feel the front door opening and closing from 301. The cheap materials are even the rubber bases... seriously, not even in a suite you'd spend money on wood trim base? The thermostat in our room kept reading error and was 64 degrees the entire stay. Phones don't work properly to call front desk. Safe wasn't working and had to have it reset. We paid $577.00 for a Saturday & Sunday night stay and I'd say it was a COMPLETE WASTE of our money. If the room was $125, fine but not at $276 a night. Location is not ideal either, you have to walk up very sketchy and dark steps to get to street level, then 2 more blocks to get to where the action is. Last comment about the bar... someone thinking they could "do it on their own" bought counter height stools for a bar and NOT bar height stools.. they made the actual bar too tall. So sitting at the bar at short stools your armpit hits the bar... VERY UNCOMFORTABLE bar to sit at. Go to Expedia for reviews which are 2 and 3 stars.

Stayed at this hotel for tonight stay well visiting the Hudson Valley area ( Hudson, Chatham, Valatie, Ghent) .... Rooms are very comfortable and very clean... Sanitized to meet the obligations imposed on hotels because of COVID-19... Ample parking in the back... Walking distance of the Main Street in Hudson... (Up the hill). Customer service very attentive and professional... Coffee 24 seven... Very very very classy place... Restaurants in the area... one particular is down the street.

Very nice hotel, the rooms are clean and spacious, friendly staff, not very helpful. Too expensive for what it offers, it's more like a bed and breakfast, not a portfolio hotel.

The hotel is super cute. Rooms are big and clean. Free parking and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The employees are super kind and helpful. Really really pleased with the service!! Very refreshing...

Our first stay with our pup was very nice! Friendly staff, nice room and free wifi! Breakfast was included for our membership level which was plentiful and very tasty! They made great recommendations for our dinner on Warren Street. I grew up in Hudson and to come back and see what this City has become is awesome! Good location especially if your taking Amtrak! Will be a repeat customer!

What this hotel lacks in curbside appeal it more than makes up for in terms of comfort, cleanliness, Covid-related health and safety precautions, location and price. From the outside, the hotel looks like it was converted from an abandoned warehouse or shipping container and so you should not expect scenic views. But the hotel is located just a couple blocks from the train station, so it's easy to get there from NYC but also not so close that you hear the train regularly. It's also just two blocks from Warren St (where all the shops and galleries in Hudson are). They did an excellent job with the interior renovation, as the lobby and rooms are designed with a clean and contemporary, yet warm design. The staff was helpful and courteous and did a good job to ensure guests wore their face masks during Covid.

We're about half way through our stay at The Wick and found ourselves in a winter wonderland! The hotel is a gem, we're able to bring our pup and it's the perfect spot to get away from the city for a few days. We've been working from the lobby / our room and the wifi is great, an ideal place to get work done. Each morning we've been greeted by the staff and help ourselves to unlimited coffee / tea. They are providing complimentary breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, and oatmeal which has made the start to each day a bit easier! You're steps away from Warren St and in close proximity to Hudson's best restaurants, local shops, and brewery. What really has stood out is the staff. With this trip, husband and I will make Platinum with Marriott and upon checking in, had a hand-writtten note and a chilled bottle of wine from Yvette. It's small touches like this that really make the difference and it's so appreciated. Rosie checked us in and was so welcoming, Sean has been engaging with us, offered restaurant recommendations, and has ensured we're enjoying our stay. With only a two hour drive from NYC, this boutique hotel makes for a great weekend trip, or even during the week if you're able to work remote. Highly recommend and will always remember where we've made Platinum: The Wick in Hudson, NY!

The 4 of us were "upgraded" to a junior suite in the basement - I had booked a room with 2 queen size beds. However I didn't like the "upgraded" room as there were NO windows! (There were these one small row of basement windows but they were blocked by the ceiling extension and there was no way to see the view since they are 1 feet from the top of a high ceiling). So I really didn't think that was much of an upgrade. I had asked for extra towels and amenities prior to arrival via the Marriott Bonvoy app but did not receive them. I spoke to the front desk in person, who politely said that I should call housekeeping for these items. So I called housekeeping, and the line is perpetually busy! By then, I was tired, and did not want to spend any more of my vacation in the hotel room trying to call housekeeping. I didn't encounter anyone rude, although someone in our group did. It's a nice cool hotel, but I think the service needs to improve before we'd stay there again.

This hotel is the reason I enjoy being a BonVoy member. The hotel is fabulous. Everything from the decor to the history to the staff makes you want to extend your stay. Add the fact that you can bring your dog and I ask, why leave. This is a great place, close to skiing and a Fantastic downtown area. It's a truly park or train and walk location. Thank you Victoria and Maria for your hospitality. You will see us again very soon.

Dirty bed sheets, stained with wine and someone's hair from a previous guest, rude staff who are stubborn, curt, and lacking the professionalism required to complete their jobs, terrible hospitality, and a blatant disregard for guests. The hotel is at the edge of town, right next to the train tracks, so safety is definitely a huge issue when you want to explore past sundown. Just not a great spot to stay. If you want something better, I think the Maker Hotel is a much better option as it's closer to town and the staff are much more hospitable and kind. Charged a fee, even when they promised it was a "hold for potential damages." Unacceptable as this is blatant lying and stealing from paying customers.

We booked a stay at the Wick with points, in late July. The accommodations were fine. Upon waking up on the day I was to check out, I received a folio via email with an unexplained charge of $72 and change. I went down and spoke with the desk, where I was told that it was a mistake; I would not be charged. Later that morning, as we were having breakfast in town, I received an email with an updated folio, this time with a bar tab charge of $52. We had not eaten at the bar. I called the front desk and was told that this was a mistake; they had mistakenly billed someone else's charges to our room. One week later, upon reviewing my credit card charges, I found that the original charge of $72 and change was indeed there. I called the desk and they said it'd be removed. It's not clear to me how they can continuously and routinely make errors like these. It's a headache to have to deal with.

First the good news: we found the staff to be polite and helpful. Our room was clean, and the hotel was near our event. We appreciated the pet-friendly policy, and we brought our dog. We noticed that others did as well when they were out walking their dogs -- but otherwise we did not hear or notice the presence of dogs. We were on an upper floor, and it was very quiet. Now the not-so-good points: The bed was uncomfortable (and was the smallest king-sized bed I've ever seen). I finally got up and tried sleeping on the floor, where I met a big bug. It was a long night. The accomodations are basic, and not in keeping with the price of the hotel, and the lobby smells unpleasantly fruity, like a closet full of old clothes. The hotel itself is on a run-down street. Be advised that parking is in back, which you don't know when you arrive. Once you get around back, there is no way to enter that side of the building since you haven't checked in yet and no sidewalk to the front.

So not only is there no information about where to park or to check-in first (apparently there is a valet during busier times but no signage information when there is no valet) and not only do the car chargers not work unless you have a Tesla, after stepping near rat traps to find that out, but when I did drive around to check in and then move my car to the back parking lot (and now it was raining), I found the area all around the door is flooded!! So only way in is to step through a few inches of water!!! Very unhappy with this hotel.

Too many dogs. If you're not a dog owner, this is super annoying, they are everywhere in the lobby and barking up/down the hallways. You can hear them from your room. People bring their dogs and leave them in the room and go out for the night

The Wick is a very cool space in Hudson, but felt a little out of the way. We visited during Covid times and felt safe. The rooms are HUGE, but could be closer to the main strip of stores in Hudson. The hotel is very close to the antique warehouse. if you're going for that purpose or don't mind a bit of a walk, this would do nicely.

We booked here but cancelled at the last minutes (picked another establishment in another town). We took a drive through Hudson to check out the hotel for possible future stay but were glad we made the right choice by cancelling. Compared to other neighboring towns, Hudson is a rundown place with trash, overgrown vegetation and graffiti everywhere. Marriott must have invested a lot of money into this hotel but location is not ideal and safe.

It's with mixed emotions that I post this review . Reason being this is a gem unique SPG property made out of an old candle factory from 1860 . The property staff , location and breakfast are all wonderful. My hesitation in posting this review has to do with not wanting the word to get out which will lead to higher rates and occupancy . That which you share will multiply , so I'm sharing . Very solid unique hotel that I will absolutely return to .

Super clean and comfortable, quality toiletries and soft clean towels and linens. That's what I look for in a hotel, less is more, friendly service, good cup of coffee in the morning, cute views, no complaints.

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Wick over this past weekend and we can honestly say it was the most enjoyable stay that we've ever had at a hotel. The building is a refurbished candle factory which is beautifully decorated with hip and modern decorem. The room we stayed in the first night was spacious, had gorgeous light fixtures, and an extremely comfortable bed. The hotel is spotlessly clean and did not spare on aesthetic beauty and details. The second night, my sister and brother in law decided to join us, and without any hesitation, they allowed us to change our room from a King sized to a room with two queen sized beds for no cost. We are so appreciative of their amazing hospitality! Every staff member such as Shelly, Kate, Mariella, Ben and others were very accommodating and genuinely pleasant. The hotel bar and restaurant is quite nice and had great signature cocktails. Even with snow and freezing temperatures, it was within very reasonable proximity to all the great bars, restaurants and shops that Warren Street has to offer. If you're taking Amtrack there, is literally right down the street. I could go on and on but we were so pleased with our stay and very much look forward to staying at the Wick again!

I booked a stay here for my two year anniversary getaway. We arrived at 2:40 pm after being on the road for almost 3 hours (check in time is 3pm) and was told the rooms are being cleaned and they should be ready in 15-20 mins. I approached the front desk again at 3:10 asking for an update and was told the same thing. In this whole time, about 5 more groups of guests arrived to check in as well. I got fed up of waiting when I noticed everyone around me got their rooms before I did and approached them again at 3:45. I finally entered my room at 4pm. Not the way I wanted to spend my anniversary.

This hotel has struggled since the beginning. Under staffed and any god employees they had were disrespected by management and never seen again. This place was great a the start but now a joke to the Marriott chain. The prices are out of this world for nothing. They take no consideration for any members like they use to. Two years ago the staff was great but now it's a joke. They really need a whole new management team. The guests are what makes you. Pay more attention to what brings people back not your own selfish needs. People are being business and who pays attention to the details of the guests.

This new edition to Trendy Hudson is walking distance from Amtrak. I've only experienced the breakfasts there and they are excellent. Love the sausage patties, French toast and good coffee. The building was renovated very well from its industrial past and is quite appealing inside. Parking can be an issue.

Rooms are clean. The area around the hotel is a bit sketchy. Overall, I would have given this place 4 stars except... The front desk managed to botch my reservation. They charged me twice, and when informed of the mix up, they didn't seemed too concerned. I've been battling with them for days to only pay for my stay once. Will update this review if they take care of the issue. I'd stay somewhere else next time. No coffee makers in room, also.

My husband and I got married in Hudson and we, our entire families, and our wedding parties stayed here for the weekend (thurs - sun). There must have been 30 rooms full of us and our guests, and the wick couldn't have handled it better. I'm truly blown away by the impeccable service and how wonderful the hotel is in general. They were so incredibly accommodating through out the wild planning process and through out our stay. The entire staff could not have been kinder or more helpful; everyone from those at the front desk, to housekeeping, to those who drove the shuttle. Which, by the way, is one of the greatest amenities -- they provide a free shuttle service into main hudson! And one of the options to take youis a very adorable tiny electric golf cart esque vehicle that I'm obsessed with. In short: This is my new favorite hotel in the hudson valley area, and I am immensely grateful to the Wick for making my wedding weekend even more special and going so above and beyond for me and my family. I couldn't recommend them highly enough, whether it's for a short getaway for the weekend or to host your whole wedding party. Thank you The Wick!

We stayed here twice, both times were disappointing. During our first stay they mistakenly gave away the room that was promised to us. We were compensated for one of the nights and invited back for a free weekend to make up for their mistake, which was appreciated. We just returned for our second visit and unfortunately they were unable to redeem themselves as our room was not fully functional. The staff is very friendly, but I think they are still working out the kinks of a new hotel. We agree with H.M.'s more detailed review below. Very disappointing, we wanted to like this hotel because we come to Hudson often. Unfortunately, we do not recommend staying here right now. Instead, we highly recommend Rivertown Lodge.

Ok I don't know why this hotel has a high rating. The best part of this hotel are the amazing men who work there at the door ( Don) and the other men in the front desk and the nice waiter who is thin and tall and beautifully brown.... It's nice to be in the area of Hudson and all of that but there are nicer hotels - the main problem I have with this hotel is that it's dirty - they don't clean the rooms well which is a problem as I have stayed there a few times and been witness to hair in the bathroom upon check in - dirty floors in the bathroom and and opened water bottles when I checked in ... we have a dog and if you come with a dog they throw you in the basement - sometimes with rooms with no windows- you will literally be staring at a piece of metal out of the window - how bizarre . I mean it's 2020 and the world is coming to an end and you are throwing people in basements ? The basement rooms shouldn't even exist. I actually hate the wick. I won't be returning. I can't speak on the food but :/ you can imagine if housekeeping isn't doing their job-----also the sheets are really rough - they use cheap detergent - I don't like the wick. ;( but the doormen are always nice and the tall thin handsome waiter is also great. But the place needs a facelift and an overhaul

The Wick Hotel is wicked as it is totally mismanaged with turmoil and in consistency in the kitchen having gone through several chef's since it opened. If it survives six more months I'd be surprised. It's really too bad as the design is quite modern and atttractive.

Had fun there ... staff friendly ... dog friendly .. we don't have a dog but good to know ... no problems but if you want me to get picky ... be careful on your choice or rooms .... we had mold around our bathtub caulking ... hair dryer farted out every 3 minutes ... NEEDS A BETTER BEER SELECTION .... parking can be tough BUT we didn't find that much of an issue .... and soooo .... all and all a decent getaway to Hudson ... i still don't see the big deal about Hudson .... restaurants .. meh... antiques.... soooooo overpriced ... we are kinda' sorta' local so it was interesting to see where Hudson went ... we were not impressed .... still mostly a dump ....
