If you're interested in getting out for a beautiful hike. Than this place is for you. Totally awesome. Great for kids. The out door experience at the playground is a chance for the little ones to expand on their mudpie making skills. It is also recommended to make sure you take a few minutes to make your way inside. It is full of interesting things for the kiddos.

Love coming here to walk. So peaceful and not busy. Many different trails. Walked 3 miles and spent around 1.5 hours. Have been coming for years and love visiting when I can.

Very nice place! They have several walking trails through the woods, a planetarium, a rock garden, and a place for kids to play that is really neat! Plenty of places to have a picnic, either on the ground with a blanket or by using one of their many picnic tables. The grounds are very well kept. I'll be back in the Spring for sure!

This is a really nice place to visit if you enjoy nature and the outdoors. We came here for the Nature Fest and Foto Fest. The number of vendors was small but there are many other things to see and do. If you are into hiking, there are a number of short trails. The main building had woodworkers showing their skills and there was a nature photo contest going on in another wing. We enjoyed the photography, amateur and professional. In addition, there is a spot to view native birds. There was a racoon feeding at the time. They also sell native Ohio plants. If hungry, a food truck serving potato dishes was available during our visit. There was also a bluegrass band for entertainment.

Great place to take the kids, or just a hike. Inside had a little area for kids to play and explore. They also have a indoor bee hive that the kids can watch the bees work and move around the comb. We walked the pond trail, and got to see the geese and tons of little babies. The trail was good for walking, not great for pushing a stroller, but do-able. We then went to the outdoor kids play area and my 2 boys (6 and almost 2) had a great time exploring and getting dirty.

A beautiful nature preserve with great hiking trails. Though the trailers are shorter, together the various trails provide around 10 miles of scenic hiking trails. The Interpretive Lodge has various nature exhibits, bathrooms, and a gift shop. There are picnic pavilions on site as well. A beautiful slice of rural Ohio!

Yelp
Have been here twice with family and enjoyed both experiences greatly. The staff is friendly and helpful and the area is beautiful. The trail around the lake is pretty and offers fun looks at the geese and ducks on the lake as well as the other local animals that might cross your path. The observation tower gives amazing views of the area to enjoy and the main building offers very interesting educational displays and activities. I'm also very fond of their indoor bird watching area. A great place to spend some time with nature. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Although the Interpretive Bldg at The Wilderness Center has been closed due to Covid-19, check out whether they are beginning to re-open. The trails, however, have been open the whole time! There are restrooms on the left side of the building that are open even if the building isn't. There are many miles of trails, beautiful deep woods or prairie - take your pick! Just be aware that the gate to the upper parking lots closes at five o'clock. So be sure to park in the area just off Alabama Ave if your visit may run past that time. Enjoy the ponds for spotting fish and frogs and the "tower" for a beautiful view. Over the years, my family has enjoyed many hours exploring nature here and is a fond memory for everyone. I even chose Foxfield Preserves, a natural cemetery connected to TWC, for my husband's final resting place. I can't praise TWC staff enough all the good they do!

Yelp
We really enjoyed hiking the trails at TWC. The staff was quite helpful in assisting us with mapping out our hike. Bought a protein bar for $1 from the gift shop before the hike - very reasonable price. Spent a relaxing time in the indoor bird viewing room watching not only birds at the feeder but chipmunks and fox squirrels too.

Yelp
I have been going here since I was a kid. I have taken classes, mucked around in the pond gathering specimens, stared at the stars, played with the geese and snakes, learned about the different species of birds that frequent the feeders and purchased many a science based souvenir from the gift shop. I highly recommend this place for young and old alike. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Beautiful place for the whole family. I grew up not to far away and have fond memories of our family visiting many times. Make sure to bring old bread along to feed the fish at the pond observation deck. Many beautiful safe hiking trails. The watch tower is about 3 stories up and always exhilarating to experience while seeing plenty of birds and Canadian geese too from the high perch of the tower. They also have a pretty cool indoor exhibit of things like the bird viewing room or even watching the bees make honey and many more exhibits about nature. The gift shop is unique to offering many items rarely seen with a focus on nature. Our family always enjoyed the public picnic areas too. One of my favorite nature centers around!

Yelp
Super great place for a day out. TWC is suitable for children and adults with programs for all ages, 10 miles of hiking trails, a lake, observation tower and friendly, knowledgable staff. Everything is free unless you want to attend a program or event then there is a very small fee. This place is a self funding nonprofit so it doesn't recieve any tax dollars and relies solely on donations. Best kept secret in Stark County.
