I just want to thank Amy and her team for such a lovely graduation stay. From the location, to the hospitality, to the beautiful space, to the delicious breakfasts and desserts, to being so accommodating, to thinking ahead of all of your guests’ needs, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice for this incredible weekend. Only wish we had discovered it sooner!

Such a beautiful inn, we loved our stay! Took a cozy winter vacation upstate from the city and loved everything about the inn. Immediately upon arrival we made hot chocolate for ourselves and had some of the yummy treats available in the dining room. It's so conveniently located too, we walked over to see the nearby gorge before coming back for breakfast. And breakfast was warm, filling, and a delightful way to start our day. We even bought a mug to take home with us to remember our time here. Would definitely stay here again!

I CAN’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!!! My family friends and I stayed here for our wedding weekend, I cannot express enough how perfect the weekend went!!!! From AMAZING vegan breakfast options to stunning photo opps at every corner, this bed and breakfast is truly one of a kind. Did I mention they made us the BEST breakfast every morning? I REALLY REALLY appreciated how accommodating Amy, Casey and staff were during our weekend. The location is perfect, just a short walk away from the commons and the stunning Cascadilla Gorge Trail. With an automatic code lock on the front door, we felt really safe and comfortable throughout our stay. This B&B was truly the romantic escape we needed. If i could give this review a one million star rating, I would do it in a heartbeat!!!!

My husband and I recently stayed at the inn for 2 nights and had a great experience. It was conveniently located between the town and the gorge, the breakfast and desserts were really good, the room was perfect, and the self check in and out was easy and hassle free. We would love to go back again.

Google
furnished in elegant antiques, this charming house is named for the 19th century architect who designed it. Each room is different. delicious and varied breakfast each day and a daily dessert for late night. immediately adjacent to the Ithaca Commons, which also means a steep walk up to Cornell. No kids under 12. No elevator either.

This was an excellent Bed and Breakfast in Ithaca. ||It was designed as a mansion for the Stonewall family by the Inn's namesake, William Henry Miller -- basically the architect for most of what is now Cornell University and Ithaca.||It is self-check-in, pick up your key in the foyer and go to your room. Though the rooms are converted from the various original spaces, my room was very spacious and cozy, with sitting area and a gas fireplace, simulating the real thing. The private bathroom and shower were fine, with the bathroom amenities being very good. If you forgot something, there was a cabinet in the outside hall with other items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, band aids, sewing kits, etc.||As with any good BnB there were a few parlors and a dining room. The two parlors were a nice place to just sit and read. Breakfast could be taken in the dining room or at tables in the parlors. As with most BnB's, you got what the proprietor prepared. Breakfast was good and hearty, though; especially needed as the temperature had dropped the night before.||From noon all through the evening, there were fresh-baked pastries, tea, and coffee available to consume as you please in the dining room.||The house is in what counts as downtown Ithaca, so you are just a block away from the restaurants and shops. ||I will definitely book again for my next stay in Ithaca.

I'm a Guide with a bicycle tour company and have stayed at W H Miller Inn many times over the years. I just love it ! The level of care is always tip top. Amy and her crew are very accommodating, caring, and responsive, which is rare in this covid aftermath world. The building is absolutely stunning inside and out. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the delicious breakfast is always a hit with my guests. The Inn's location is perfect. Close to Cornell and Ithaca College, and tons of fantastic eateries within walking distance. Viva Taqueria is my favorite. And speaking of walking, the gorgeous Casscadilla Creek Gorge is just around the corner. A spectacular mini-hike jam packed with waterfalls. Relaxing on the front porch and people watching is wonderful. There's easy off-street parking which is rare in Ithaca. And for me, the best part is that my guests always love their stay at W. H. Miller Inn. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Ithaca. I can't wait to return :-)

Yelp
Easy check in. Location is one street from downtown. Very clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and coffe very good

Yelp
Beautiful historic home in walking distance to The Commons downtown business area in Ithaca. Delicious homemade breakfast included. Common areas well appointed and clean. Now for suggested improvements. Remove room air conditioners to decrease street noise in non-summer months, open the front entrance to the house rather than the side door and provide at least a part time innkeeper presence. Although the owner is available by phone and very responsive, the place misses the friendly and informative presence of an onsite innkeeper.

Joan T.

Yelp
Spacious, comfortable, welcoming. Very clean, updated bathroom(s) which was great in my room, the " library". There is a toilet/dressing room which is separate from the shower room - a big advantage for two people. Also the room has a pleasant sitting area - another plus. The hosts, Casey and Amy are friendly and helpful. And the breakfast is hearty and they thoughtfully accommodate special dietary needs. Private parking spots help make the HWM Inn a perfect base for exploring the Ithaca area.

Yelp
I had never stayed at a bed & breakfast until our short trip to Ithaca, but this was the epitome of what I envisioned the perfect B&B to be. We had the most wonderful and cozy stay here!! Lynette is absolutely wonderful, and everything was storybook-worthy. Our room was the Turret, and it was SO adorable. The nighttime dessert bar, as well as the breakfast, were sooo delicious! Definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Ithaca.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Phenomenal experience! Had the most amazing experience with my spouse staying at the William Henry INN. Located in the heart of Ithaca right off the Commons it's the perfect location for a weekend getaway. Breakfast was to die for! Coffee was spectacular!! The desserts were decadent and delicious!!! The innkeeper Amy was so sweet and very hospitable. The breakfast server Lilly was an absolute delight! Best, Andrew

Yelp
Lovely Stay at the inn. It is very quiet and peaceful but located walking distance from downtown. A nice breakfast is served every morning. A wonderful Dessert is served every afternoon. The inn has no contact check in and out. They are following protocols for covid. I recommend staying here for a delightful experience. The architecture and details of the Inn are amazing.

Patricia G.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to stay. Due to Covid restrictions it was a contactless check in. I found a letter welcoming me with the room key. The room was very spacious and I found a lovely surprise waiting for me: cookies and brownies!!! It was a really awesome treat after having been driving for so long to get there. After a delicious sleep in the most comfy bed with the softest sheets ever, I was woken up with another surprise, breakfast in bed!! I got juice, fruit with yogurt, eggs on muffin with cheese, hash, delicious ham AND french toast, what more could I have wanted? I am very lucky to have been able to stay at this absolutely perfect place. Thank you Amy for a fantastic stay

Yelp
My husband and I spent one night at the William Henry Miller Inn. We stayed in Dane's Room. Hosts: We learned on our Finger Lakes adventure that in NY State, if a place has more than a certain number of rooms and the owner is not in residence then the facility is an inn. William Henry Miller in feels like a large B&B, but is technically an inn. We did not meet the owners, but we did meet the hosts and staff who were very helpful: When we arrived they made wonderful suggestions for sights in and around Ithaca as well a recommendations for dinner. Dane's Room: Dane's room is vary spacious with seating for 2, a king size bed, wardrobe that can fit clothes for two, and a desk. We found the king size bed comfortable, which is often difficult because we love our king size Tempurpedic at home. I was impressed that there are USB and electric ports electronic devices on both sides of the bed! You could have 4 items plugged in simultaneously on each side. Om addition a pitcher and glasses were available in-room so that if we wanted to get water from the guest pantry for our room, we could. The room was very clean. Dane's Room Bathroom: Very large with double sinks. Robes and toiletries provided. The bathroom was very clean. It has a large window that provides excellent sunlight. Rest of House: Beautiful and large with plenty of spaces to be alone together or mingle with the other guests. We decorated. The staff love to share details about the home - ask the staff about the interesting features! I enjoyed having a guest pantry (not all B&Bs or Inns offer a guest kitchen/pantry). The pantry is stocked with filtered water, sodas, and the night we were there freshly whipped cream for dessert! Dessert: FANTASTIC. I'm a sucker for sweets and they did not disappoint! Breakfast: Was hot and delicious. Two courses: warm fruit with fresh yogurt and we selected the egg crepe (more of an omelette). Parking: There is a small parking lot on the premises and you are permitted to park at the business next door. We parked in both spots and had no problem with either. Room Tip: Dane's room is large and comfortable for two. It does not have a pleasant view

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the inn. We stayed in The Turret which very spacious and clean with loads of charm. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of covers available so we didn't get cold on those chilly Ithaca nights. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and inventive. We had the choice of eating in our room or coming down to first floor at an agreed upon time. We were always notified by text when breakfast was ready. Breakfast always included coffee or tea available as self serve, orange juice, home fries, bacon or link sausage, different kinds of pancakes, a waffle or French toast, my favorite. And there was always plenty of food at breakfast. The evening desserts were delivered outside our room every evening and they did not disappoint. It should be noted that due to Covid the services were different than normal. There was no breakfast or dessert buffet and coffee was not available other than with breakfast. Also there was no mingling with the other guests, which is understandable but still a bummer. Amy and her staff were great. Very attentive and responsive even under Covid rules. The inn's staff and guests always wore masks, except, of course, when eating. The location is 2 blocks from Ithaca Commons and a few minutes from the breathtaking Cascadilla Gorge Trail. It's gorgeous. Parking was available in the lot or on the street. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to another visit!

Yelp
An amazing location with wonderful accommodations and great service! Easy and friendly check-in, I truly appreciated the extensive recommendations of nearby restaurants and activities provided. The rooms are filled with such charm and comfort! I didn't know if I wanted to dive straight into the heavenly king size bed or the jacuzzi tub first! The Guest Pantry provided cold drinks and there were a fantastic array of delicious desserts provided in the evening. In the morning I was treated to local coffee and a made to order breakfast of the day's special! Will absolutely visit again!

Yelp
Lovely and comfortable. The Inn is in a perfect location, walk to the Ithaca Commons and a zillion restaurants. Walkable to Cornell University, too, if you don't mind uphill. Lynette and Katie were so nice and helpful. Breakfast was homemade and delicious each morning. And, desserts each evening, as well. Do not plan to diet there! Our room was on the third floor, and it was super comfy and quiet. Would have loved the bed being triple sheeted, but everything was super clean. Best tip from Lynette: literally around the corner is the start of the Cascadilla Gorge Trail. It's an uphill hike with stairs all the way to College Avenue at Cornell University - with seven beautiful waterfalls along the way. Amazing!

Kathi P.

Yelp
Just left after a wonderful overnight stay. The inn itself is historic charm personified, and the innkeeper Amy has left no stone unturned when it comes to meeting her guests' needs. Nice touch is dessert delivered to your room, and the tasty full breakfast included with your stay. Super Covid conscious throughout so no worries on that front. Overall, a special spot for a short getaway.

Yelp
As a newbie to the world of B&Bs, the William Henry Miller Inn was the perfect introduction. This charming Victorian home is beautifully decorated and has a very cozy and inviting feel to it. Innkeeper Lynnette and her staff are extremely friendly and exceptionally accommodating. The breakfast served in the mornings rivals any nice restaurant's, and the homemade desserts Lynnette puts out in the evenings are definitely something to look forward to. The Inn's resident pets, Millie (a rescued chihuahua) and Eduardo (a rescued cat), are super friendly, too, and add to that "home away from home" feeling. When I visit Ithaca again, this is where I'll be staying.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Somewhere along the way, Lynette will utter the sentence that will change your life: "dessert is put out at 8PM." You'll find yourself wondering how you've lived without dessert being "put out" at 8PM. You'll find yourself wondering how you'll ever return to normal life. You'll find yourself wondering how you'll survive without those brownies, those delightful dark chocolate cookies, and the ginger cookies. As I write this, I'm already in withdrawal. And the breakfast - oh, the breakfast! - you'll want to invest in a waffle machine as soon as you get home, and you'll be kicking yourself for not finding out the recipe for that fruit soup! How have you lived without the breakfast APPETIZER course? The food that precedes your breakfast?! But the amazing food isn't the only reason to stay at this lovely inn -- the Henry Miller is just generally sheer perfection. Oftentimes, inn can be synonymous with dusty and cluttery - the kind of place where every surface is covered with doilies and ceramic swans. The Henry Miller is the opposite - the rooms are very spacious, incredibly comfortable (extra points for lovely bathrooms!), and very well designed. No clutter, no doilies, no frou-frou curtains. Our room -- the quarters -- consisted of a bedroom (extremely comfy bed) which had a dresser, a desk, and two sofas, and then a small hallway which connected our bedroom to our private bathroom (and closet). Extra points for an amazing location - we used our car once the entire weekend since we could walk everywhere. And let me say, the innkeeper, Lynette, is just incredibly attentive and incredibly kind - she can answer your every question about Ithaca, engage you in small talk about the lovely cat Eduardo, or about Scandal. She's the kind of person whose smile lights up a room; she is dynamic, friendly, and kind. As I left I told her "we'll DEFINITELY be back." And I meant it.

Debi M.

Yelp
Our parties' experiences were less than pleasing. The no contact check-in was fine. The scheduling of breakfast times was expected with Covid guidelines. However, we were advised Via text that breakfast would be late and were still requested to leave our table 40 minutes after the delayed seating to prepare for the next group. Additionally, the food was cold and dropped on the table in a foil covered dish without service utensils. If you like coffee in the morning, this isn't the place for you. Coffee is unavailable before 8 am and ice is completely unavailable. The rooms were sparsely supplied...no lotions, no iron and no staff to assist when questions arose. Won't be back anytime soon.

Yelp
This B&B is just excellent. My partner and I recently stayed a night in Ithaca passing through the Finger Lakes wine country, and decided to go the B&B route rather than traditional chain hotel. What a good decision. The room (The LIbrary) was gorgeous and charming. The bed was super comfy. The private bath was a brilliant layout - split into two rooms, one for shower and a separate room for vanity & toilet. The breakfast, cooked by Innkeeper Dave, was amazing, and easily rivaled anything we could have obtained in an outside restaurant. And the nightly sideboard of desserts and coffee/teas were the perfect end to our day of car travel into Ithaca. The location is perfect, mere steps away from all the shopping & dining options in/around the Ithaca Commons. Over breakfast in the dining room, we met another vacationing couple on a road-trip from Ottawa, Ontario, who were also doing the wine country jaunt around the lakes. We ran into them again at one of the wineries (small world, eh?), and were able to point them to some new wines to try! If ever we are headed near Ithaca again, the Miller Inn will be in our sights.

Yelp
The William Henry Miller Inn is DIVINE!! This was my first trip to Ithaca, and staying here made the trip. First, let me say that my boyfriend and I were traveling with a large dog. When calling ahead to most hotels in the area, all charge a pet fee (ranging from 20-75 a night) - while the accommodations are severely lacking. While the WHM Inn is a pricey stay - it is lavishly indulgent and special, with a bonus of no extra pet fee. The pet-friendly sweet is called The Garner Sweet. It on the bottom floor of a separate housing unit, making it convenient to enter/exit with a large dog. The room bedroom is gigantic and clean, with all the amenities one could hope for, and marked with a cozy/thoughtful decor. There is a bonus sitting room with a minifridge, and a very large bathroom with jacuzzi, shower, and even a bidet! The owners are not only sweet, but know how to please their visitors. They are a wealth of information for activities to try out around town, and also offer delicious desserts and breakfasts each day that WOWed us. For instance, home-made blueberry jam from local farms, with homemade sourdough bread - asparagus and herb rolled omlette with the most perfect potato concoction on the side - and appetizers while you wait for the cook to individually prepare your choice! Of course, endless coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereal, cookies, candies are available at any hour. Last but not least, the WHM Inn is conveniently located in the center of town. Two blocks away from the famous Moosewood Restaurant, and the main walking strip. This was the most I could ask for from two nights of lodging. Thank you!!

Yelp
A gem by Cayuga's waters. Our family had 3 rooms graduation and other family members joined us for breakfast. The inn is warm and cozy, the rooms are well appointed. The breakfast is well done and the attention to detail from the owner makes it a great experience from start to finish.

Nicole K.

Yelp
Great stay! Everyone was lovely and the food was delicious. We have stayed at many places in Ithaca and this is our new favorite place.

James L.

Yelp
Our first trip to the Finger Lakes was fantastic. Walking into the Inn for the first time, you see the beautiful wood built-ins and the exquisite Tiffany glass, hear and feel the neat history with every creaky step on the antique floors. It's a charming place and the innkeeper and staff are top notch. My favorite things are 24/7 coffee and tea, evening desserts at 8pm, and certainly breakfasts. Great location for sight-seeing and walking around to enjoy a college town. The fireplace in the Library room was good ambiance and extra nice right out of the shower.

Melinda T.

Yelp
We were lucky to find this treasure of a place during our daughters orientation at Ithaca College. We stayed at the William Henry Miller Inn throughout our daughters four years in Ithaca. Lynnette, the Inn Keeper, became family and we loved the gourmet breakfasts in the mornings and the array of homemade desserts in the evening. The Inn is perfectly located to downtown Ithaca (walking distance), the farmer's market, the lake, and both colleges (Ithaca and Cornell). Although our daughter's graduation was a happy time, it was bitter sweet, we will miss our times at the Inn and our good friend Lynnette. This is hands down the best place to stay in Ithaca!

Beach G.

Yelp
This is my new favorite b&b in America. Friendly, clean, updated, amazing breakfast. Dessert treats welcome after dinner upon arriving home nightly. Ironed soft sheets! Staff is the best around. Owner, Lynette, makes you feel at home. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend. Close to all the restaurants and The Commons. Stay here for a great get away.

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
Gorgeous House. Comfortable rooms. AMAZING Breakfasts. Terrific location: 5 min. walk to Dining, Shopping and Bars. The Innkeeper, Lynnette, is friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely a great place to stay!

Emily F.

Yelp
I had a wonderful stay at the Inn. It is in a perfect location, a couple of blocks from the commons and lots of restaurants. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. This is not the place to come if you're on a diet though - the food is amazing! In the morning there were muffins, fresh squeezed juices, coffee, a fruit starter, and amazing egg or sweet dishes. In the afternoons, there was iced tea or lemonade. In the evenings, there is a dessert buffet with cookies, brownies, and cakes. My favorite was a pineapple upside-down cake. Everything is made right there in the kitchen. I loved sitting on the porch for breakfast or with dessert on the warm evenings.

John G.

Yelp
Hard to say how our stay could have been better. Central location and wonderful hosts.

Phil M.

Yelp
We just made the trip up to Ithaca recently to see my wife's beloved school, Cornell. When looking for the place to stay I left it up to her as she knew the good areas to stay. On first approach the house is large, traditional and authentically homey. Lynette, the inn keeper was wonderful and plays a wonderful host. The room we had was very spacious and the bed and sheet really comfortable, we also had the use of a private bathroom which was nicely stocked with personalized bathroom goodies (something I wouldn't expect in such a small place). In the common part of the house there was several sitting rooms with books and artwork that could keep the most inquisitive minds busy for hours! There is also coffee and tea (hot and iced) available and home baked goods in the evening. We took to skipping dessert when eating out because these we're SO GOOD! Breakfast was just as good as the cookies and cake from the night before, fresh made pancakes and fruit was excellent. One last note, Lynette really helped out was a recommendation for a great waterfall to see. We'd tried to see two already that weekend but with the 90 deg temps they'd all dried up, the one she sent us to was great and I got the waterfall photo I'd been looking for!

Bonnie F.

Yelp
Once again, Lynette and her attentive, warm, welcoming and expert staff worked together to provide a stay at her inn that was the highlight of our month-long trip on the East Coast. We have been to the William Henry Miller Inn two times before and we never cease to be amazed by Lynette and the staff's attention to detail, the air of excellence in everything they do, and the genuinely kind and caring people they are. In past reviews of the William Henry Miller Inn, I have praised the delectable breakfasts, lavish nightly dessert buffet, superbly clean and comfortable accommodations, and the wonderfully delightful town that is Ithaca. But this time around, I want to highlight each staff member who helped to make our stay a perfect one. From our point of first contact with the reservations desk, Silvie provided continuous and consistent help; and in her second role as pastry chef, she provides a nightly dessert buffet that is out of this world! There is even a gluten-free option. Behind the scenes, Samara, Wendy, Chris, and Katie worked their magic so that our every need was taken care of. Dave, the very talented and gracious co-owner and chef, always provided inventive and delicious breakfast options and was ever ready to accommodate my special requests due to food intolerances. Finally, and most importantly, I want to shout out a big and heartfelt "THANK YOU and caps to Lynette, the Inn's owner. I only wish every B and B proprietor showed the genuine concern for her guests that Lynette demonstrates day in and day out, year after year. This is no act. She's the real deal. She's the kind of person that does everything according to the highest standards while never sacrificing her gracious personality and great sense of humor. She throws herself 100% into everything she does. Thank you, one and all, at the William Henry Miller Inn. We'll be back!

Chandar P.

Yelp
Wonderful stay. Lynette and her team are friendly and treat you like family. House is clean, with updates/modern amenities for a Victorian era house. We stayed in the "Top of the Stairs" room and slept soundly with plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast was delicious, and dessert treats after a dinner in town was delightful. Highly recommend. Close to walk to town restaurants, The Commons, and Cascadilla Falls/Cornell Campus.

Bennett L.

Yelp
This is the Rolls Royce of B&B's. We knew we would have a good experience because of previous reviews, but we were surpised at how superb everything was from the breakfasts to the desserts served at 7:30 p.m. The house is an architectural gem ( my partner, an architect, was in awe). We give Lynette, the proprietor, also 5 stars. It's no wonder she won the Innkeeper of the Year award in 2012. If you're coming to Ithaca, this is the place to stay.
