The Winchester Boutique Hotel Cape Town

Our group of friends, 10 in total, stayed at this absolutely beautiful hotel. The Winchester is right across from the promenade with a view of the water. All of the individuals working there, were extremely helpful, friendly, and just a joy to be around. Our room was comfortable and had a gorgeous view outside our window. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. They had a buffet which contained many different delicacies, yogurt, and homemade granola that was delicious. You could also order off of the menu. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay in Cape Town as they offer a shuttle to and from the V and A waterfront.

I have been to this hotel over the years for sundowners and on the odd occasion a meal. I had the pleasure of staying there for the first time this weekend. As it is a 4 star I didn’t have very high expectations but boy oh boy was I surprised.|To say that the rooms are immaculately clean is an understatement - right down to the window cills. While it underwent a revamp a few years ago it still retains its old world charm.|Check-in is at 2pm and it has parking facilities for R85.00 a day. As it was a chilly day we had lunch in the hotel bar which comprises of small plates and main meals. All were cooked to perfection and a freshness.|Bedrooms have lovely fresh linen and bathrooms are modern and clean and they have a fair array of toiletries with crisp gowns and slippers.|Having come back to the hotel after a night out, the gentleman opened the bar for us and served us drinks. What a personalized touch from a kind receptionist.|After a relaxing nice sleep we were advised that checkout was at 11am and as it was a Saturday breakfast was open until 12 noon. I could not believe that as have never encountered that elsewhere.|Breakfast was a fresh beautiful buffet and one could order from a menu with an array of hot dishes as well as juices and lovely coffees and teas.|Staff were pleasant and attentive.|It is perfectly situated on the promenade and near all the activities Cape Town has to offer.|This will be my home away from home when I have to stay over in Cape Town.|Well done to Manchester mansions!

What a wonderful way to start our trip to Africa. Right across the street from the sea wall in Sea Point. The views were stunning, and it was convenient to all parts of Cape Town. The room had everything we needed and more. Perhaps the best bed I have ever slept in, and I loved the mountain of pillows. The buffet breakfast was more than we could eat and did I mention how helpful and friendly the staff was. This truly is a gem of a hotel and give it my highest recommendation.

A truly beautiful hotel with incredibly hospitable staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, always greeting us with a genuine smile. From housekeeping to the front desk, the service was flawless. Breakfast was a highlight—without a doubt the best avocado toast I’ve ever had. The location is perfect, right across from the promenade, where we enjoyed scenic walks alongside Cape Town residents, with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and mountains.

We had a lovely stay at The Winchester. It is right on the beach minus a road. The breakfasts and dinner we had there were excellent. I had laundry done and they did a great job. All of the staff were very accommodating. Bring conditioner but I guess the shampoo is shampoo and conditioner? I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The Winchester has a lot of historic charm with distinctive, Dutch-inspired local architecture and a great seafront location. It's about a 40-minute walk to the V&A Waterfront but hotel staff said not to walk back at night, so we Ubered. Terrific restaurant, great food and vegan options. Whole place has a stylish, Santa Monica vibe. Very nice interior courtyard with outdoor seating. The pool looked great too but it was too chilly at our visit to enjoy it. I will go back!

Great staff and wonderful boutique atmosphere. The restaurant has great breakfast options and the concierge staff are attentive and helpful. There is a cost free transfer to the V and A waterfront which is a bonus. Rooms are clean and spacious. There are numerous facilities close by: supermarket, cafes, laundry etc. Great and safe place to stay.

Super cute boutique hotel! Location is amazing, right across from the waterfront park and close to downtown and lots of restaurants. The bar downstairs has a beautiful patio where you can sit and get a drink and watch the sunset. The breakfast is amazing, get the eggs Benedict. Highly recommend for a unique stay!
