How to Explore Ludington, Michigan

"Cozy and welcoming, The Windowsill Used & New Books is an indie bookstore with kind staff (I picked up a romantasy novel) and the exact comforting vibe that makes me always stop at local bookstores when I travel." - Matthew Kepnes

Our favourite bookstore. Great deals on used books in very good condition. Way cheaper than Amazon. Great selection. Friendly staff. Stuff for adults and kids alike. Highly recommend!

Always like a local used book store. Books were very clean and the store offers a good variety of genres and years. Big children's book area. Found a few "vintage" books I enjoyed as a kid. You know, the MAD books that are classics! Price are edging on the high side but still nowhere near what the books originally costs.

As recent successful, small, independent bookstore owners, we strongly recommend a visit to the Windowsill book shop. They have a wonderful selection, friendly staff and welcoming layout. Kids are our future and the children's section should bring a smile to them but also Grandma & Grandpa. It's a much larger store than the storefront would suggest. Check it out!

Awesome book store, with a great selection. Well organized. I found that the recommendations of one of the owners was a total match for me! A Back to the Bricks show shopper win for me!

Great little used and new book store, friendly prices! I found something to old to read, even saw a few choose your own adventure novels in the back in the children's section.

Yelp
I like the selection, the atmosphere, the prices, the staff and especially Julie's Picks (the owner's recommendations on n what to read) since we have similar tastes in our reading.

Yelp
I was visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this cute bookstore. I was immediately impressed with their COVID precautions and the cooperation from both staff and patrons. The Windowsill has a wide variety of genres, but I was most interested in their section on the local area and Michigan as a whole. Their books are fairly priced and they also offer a wide variety of new titles. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again!

Yelp
From the moment that I walked into The Windowsill, I was immediately impressed! Because there were so many things to like about it, I am going to save some time and just make a list: 1. Their inventory selection is INCREDIBLE! They have so many genres and multiple copies of books that you are looking for. I oftentimes can't walk out without buying at least 5 books! 2. Their prices are incredibly fair. Not only can you purchase a used book which will obviously be cheaper, but even their new books are so reasonably priced and usually around 1/2 the price of the cover price!! I got a book that costs $15 for only $5!! 3. The owners are so incredibly kind! You can just tell that they love what they are doing and it's so nice to see someone happy to be where they are. 4. The location is so convenient and so close to a lot of the downtown restaurants. We always stop buy the bookstore after we have had dinner and it's not out of the way at all. 5. They are willing to purchase your books from you and either give you cash or store credit for them. I think that's fantastic and I usually end up asking for store credit because it feels like you're trading your books for other books. Not sure how fair they are with what they give you back for your books, but if you were just going to get rid of them anyway, something is better than nothing. I LOVE The Windowsill!!
