We loved staying at the Windsor Hotel. It is located close to the center of Asheville with convenient access the a number of restaurants on Broadway Street. The interior of the hotel has the charm of an older well renovated house. We stayed in the Luxury Suite wich comprised of a large living room with built in kitchen corner, a separate sleeping area & a spacious bath room. The room was clean. We loved the hands off service on demand concept of the hotel & the free coffee and bottle of wine. Hotel parking is included and located around the corner. The friendly personell in the reception was very helpful.

Absolutely perfect! Location cannot get any better. You are right in the heart of downtown Asheville walking distance to everything! Rooms are like another reviewer stated “just like home”. The room feels more like a Airbnb. Has a small kitchen, living room area, washer dryer, and a separate master bedroom. I really like that your room has a PIN number to enter your room as well as the front door. Extra step in safety. Very clean unique in every way! Completely drinks in the lobby is a nice touch as well. Farmers market right behind the hotel on Saturday morning. Breakfast, lunch dinner and amazing desserts everywhere you look! Can’t recommend this place enough.

I never take the time to write reviews. I had to for this boutique hotel. My husband and I are super picky and we like staying in comfortable, homy, clean , safe, updated looking hotels. The Windsor was all of this. The location was close to everything. WE had a car and we had a parkigng spot that was free. WE were able to bring our small dog which was extemely important. We felt like we were in a home. It was a comfortable, stylish, clean King Suite with a full kitchen. We loved the snax in the lobby and the nespresso yummy coffee in the lobby. Leigh was a doll and so helpful and professional. I give this place a 10/10. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!|R & K

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Windsor. A true “boutique” hotel in a perfect location to explore downtown and nearby surroundings. Our King Suite was spacious and beautiful; felt more like a stay in a home rather then a hotel. |Only one minor complaint was that they suggested moving to a paid parking lot for Saturday night due to a farmers market that could potentially block your car on Sunday morning. This was fine, but I think the hotel should have set up complementary parking elsewhere.|With that said, I can’t imagine staying in a nicer hotel in Asheville—-I would HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!!

We stayed at the Windsor the end of June for our 34th wedding anniversary. Our flight was delayed, so we ended up getting in very late. The staff was very accommodating, and was even there to help us in at 1am! Our room was fantastic! My husband had called ahead and arranged for flowers, champagne, strawberries and chocolates, and they were all wonderful! The next evening, the staff had called to our restaurant and told them it was our anniversary!! How thoughtful and what a surprise! We highly recommend the Windsor!!

My wife and I took a trip to Asheville for our anniversary and we stayed at the Windsor Boutique Hotel. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, even gifting us a bottle of wine to celebrate. The room was huge at over 500 square feet with a full kitchen, laundry, and living room. The location was perfect for easy access to downtown shopping and dining. After a long day of hiking, the bed felt so good. Would definitely recommend.

Google
We love staying at The Windsor and have done so many times over the years. Each room is unique and thoughtfully appointed. There's plenty of space for a family, but it's elevated for a romantic getaway too! The location in the heart of downtown is walkable to all Asheville has to offer. We can't wait to return.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful experience at The Windsor! We booked a double queen suite, and the room was spacious, clean, and quiet (and had laundry!!). The staff was helpful and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, a perfect central point for our exploration of Asheville, with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend for families!

Yelp
Quaint and quirky establishment. Well appointed, clean and comfy. Loved the original exposed brick and wood floors. Got a kick out of the slope, uneven/un-levelness on the 3rd story. Added to the charm and authenticity. Appreciated the in-room laundry (with detergent) and complimentary waters at the front desk. Good location with easy walking to show and eat.

Yelp
We found this boutique hotel on a last-minute trip to Asheville, and boy I'm glad we did! With so many options in Asheville, it was hard to choose. We selected the Windsor due to its location along with extremely high reviews. And boy, they did not disappoint! Each room is a dedicated suite along with the community area downstairs with friends to meet and play with. The room had every amenity we could ask for and the service was amazing! I could not recommend this place enough! 10 out of 10 will visit again!

Yelp
Absolutely loved my stay! I celebrated my birthday and treated myself to this lovely hotel. I enjoyed the ambience of home away from home. My space was beautiful. I appreciated the amenities, as well as the bottle of wine gifted to me by the staff. It was a pleasant surprise. Liam, Melina, and Ryan were very welcoming, helpful, and hospitable. They had a lot of style--James Brown and Wayne Shorter playing in the reception area. And the neighborhood was lively! Art galleries, shopping, chocolate shops, coffeehouses, comedy club, live entertainment, and restaurants made Downtown pop! I look forward to returning! Thank you so much:)

Yelp
Affordable luxury in downtown Asheville. This is our second stay and we will return. Free parking is a major plus as compared to other hotels. This small charming inn has all the amenities you would expect like robes, slippers, great bedding, lots of hot water and toiletries. What is not usual is the spaciousness of the suites, not just an bedroom and bath, but also the full size appliances including a washer dryer. This would be our choice for any extended stay. The local gourmet coffee provided was wonderful and even though our bedroom was in the quiet interior (our request) there was natural light via a beautifully decorated 2 story light well; birch log pendants, pebbles and moss. Our check in and check out requests were graciously accommodated. The service is very personalized and we appreciated the advice to make restaurant reservations in advance for excellent dining in walking distance. Notably the after hours security guard was also helpful and polite. A few doors down is a french bakery were our early riser bought quiches and pastries in enjoy in the suite while the other slept in. Newspapers are provided in the lobby. The adjacent wine bar is a convenient source of a happy hour bottle. We do selfishly hesitate to broadcast our pleasure for fear of not being able to get a booking next trip, but this is business that deserves kudos. We travel a bit but seldom share reviews.

Yelp
Our stay here started out badly, when we arrived and there was no space available in front of the hotel for us to unload our stuff like they'd said there would be. They also told me our room might not be ready yet (despite the fact that it was 5 pm and check in is at 4) but fortunately by the time we managed to unload our stuff it was ready. I had high hopes that things would improve - after all, we were a little cranky from a 9 hour drive - but unfortunately they did not. Our room was beautifully decorated but not functional for what we wanted, which was a suite with a separate living area where our daughter could sleep. The bedroom has heavy curtains but the living room has only flimsy shades that don't block the light at all. It's clearly designed as an area where kids can sleep (there is a foldout sofa bed) so I don't know why they don't get proper curtains for it. My daughter and I ended up sharing the bedroom while my husband (who is less sensitive to light) took the sofa bed. He said it was the most uncomfortable sofa bed he's ever slept on. He ended up having to remove the mattress from the frame in order to sleep. Whoever designed the space put appearance over function. The bathroom is microscopic - you can barely turn around and there is no counter space for toiletries. Similarly, the kitchen has a refrigerator larger than my fridge at home but I could barely wedge myself between the wall and the sink to wash dishes. As a couple other reviews have noted, the soundproofing is terrible. In addition to a lot of street noise, we heard every movement from the people above us. Our first night they were walking around past 1 am and kept me up. Fortunately the other nights they seemed to turn in earlier. Definitely request a top floor room if you stay here. The wifi didn't work for my husband (I didn't try to use it). Finally, the towels were coarse and felt cheap. Snobby, I know, but a hotel at this price point should really have soft fluffy towels. It wasn't all bad: the staff was very friendly, I appreciated small touches like macarons from a local shop as a welcome gift and complimentary bottled water and soda in the lobby, and we appreciated that the hotel seemed to take Covid precautions very seriously (they have a statement on their website that basically says if you can't or don't want to wear a mask, this is not the right hotel for you...really wish more businesses would have that attitude). But unfortunately the cost to stay here is really high and the experience was just not commensurate with the prices.

Yelp
Location. This must be the best location in Asheville as everything is within walking distance. You literally pull up to the front of the hotel and they grab your bags and take to your room. You park the car with the lot only about 2 blocks away. The best part is you likely will not need your car for the remainder of your visit. Your room is decorated with many fine paintings. Boutique hotel really fits the description although the rooms are quite large and roomy. The lobby offers complementary coffee, water, soft drinks and orange juice. Lastly, will give a thumbs up to the front desk people who are eager to answer any question you have or provide you with restaurant ideas.

Susan P.

Yelp
This hotel is in a class of its' own. Only 14 suites, but each one unique! It's in an older building, with lovely high ceilings and rooms full of character. The front desk is staffed with friendly and helpful folks, who have recommendations on where to eat, and what to do. The lobby is stocked with sodas, water and snacks for guests to help themselves. The only down side was that parking was located about a half-block away, and unloading can be tricky, since there is only 1 space in which to stop your vehicle to accomplish this. All in all, highly recommend the Windsor Boutique Hotel.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here and would gladly return (top floor only), but a few items outlined below are why I gave this boutique hotel four stars and not five considering the price they charge. Just weigh these based on your preferences - if you stay here I don't expect you would be disappointed. Pluses 1. Stellar staff - day and night. 2. Super clean hotel with a really cool layout. This is a great hotel to explore the inside. 3. Well appointed in terms of furniture, comfort, and room/suite design. They really put some thought into how the suites are furnished. Stacked washer/dryer are a big plus and worked well. 4. Perfect location - you can walk to many coffee shops, bars, restaurants, breweries and other downtown spots in minutes - many within the same block as the hotel. 5. Full kitchen in suites with good appliances, marble countertops and plenty of room. 6. High Def TVs with great clarity 7. Free chilled water bottles, Kind bars, nuts etc in main lobby Minuses 1. No valet - and only one small space in front of the hotel (which was taken when we arrived) so went direct to a parking garage - fortunately it was the correct guess. 2. Windows are standard so if your room is facing either of the main streets you will hear loud cars, music etc especially on the weekend. 3. About the parking garage - it's attached to AC Hotel and is a narrow, with lots of birds taking up residence (we washed our car 2x during our stay), and it has an automated exit gate that at times caused delays for us and others. 4. Wood floors - it's an older building which is cool but unless you book the top floor you will hear footsteps of the people who are above you. 5. No central air - the AC units are ostensibly indoor wall units which work great and are quiet, but they are positioned such that air will blow on your bed and sofa when the unit is on.

Yelp
First class all the way. Exceptional location. Top notch décor. The staff is dedicated to pleasing customers. There are so many big reasons and "little things" that make The Windsor a luxury and a treat. From the loading out of our luggage at arrival to the load up at the end of our stay, the staff is right there doing the heavy lifting, literally. The décor is outstandingly charming, comfortable, yet fancy. There are coffee machines in every kitchen and free Kcups, tea bags, chocolates and snacks available in the lobby and/or the room. The suites have comfy couches and chairs, TV's, washer/dryer, kitchens and luxury bathrooms. It's a remodel of an older space, so there's minimal soundproofing between the 2nd and 3rd floors. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff, we were immediately offered another room...and an upgrade. One other fyi...parking is offered a short walk away at the AC Hotel parking deck. It's $7/day. If you want to truly treat yourself when visiting Asheville, head to The Windsor...but book early! They're not a secret.

Yelp
I feel like I would return to Asheville, so I could stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, we only got to stay one night, but it was the best. The suite was essentially a mini-apartment, so if I travel with my family in the future, this would work out great. It has a full kitchen (microwave, full oven, big fridge, all the cooking ware, etc.), a washer/dryer, and two great smart TVs. All the details were there too -- bathrobes and slippers, nice bath products, big bag of local coffee, macarons on the bed -- and the decor was beautiful. Our suite was rustic and had gorgeous elegant pieces throughout. Super clean, super comfortable beds. Throws that you could curl up in and watch TV. Blackout curtains. And the staff were really nice. So helpful and accommodating. The lobby had complimentary snacks and beverages. Also, the hotel is in the heart of downtown, so it was so convenient. You don't even need a car.

Yelp
The Windsor Boutique Hotel experience has exceeded our expectations. My husband & I will definitely make this hotel our #1 choice when we want to get away. The decor is exactly as the pictures look. We stayed in RM# 204 and the decor was fabulous. The room is very clean and we felt comfortable to relax just as we would at home. The staff was attentive & friendly. The parking at the AC next door is very convenient and a very short walk. The hotel is walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. Once we parked, we never got in our car again. A bonus is the restaurant next door Over Easy has the best breakfast we have had in Asheville. A few doors down is a great bar with life music. Directly across the street is Strada. An amazing Italian restaurant. We would highly recommend making a reservation. The Windsor hotel is historic with beautiful wood floors. Be aware that you can at times hear people walking above you. This is the nature of a historic building & it did not interfere with our sleep at all. The hotel bedroom has blackout blinds & I slept more this weekend than I have in years. We are parents who left our small children behind for the weekend.

Yelp
We loved our stay here! We were in room 305 in the king suite. It was GORGEOUS! We loved the local chocolates on out pillows and the local coffee for the morning. The staff was so sweet (particularly Ryan and Chelsea) and we didn't want to leave! You can certainly hear the "urban" sounds at night but they have noise machines at the front if needed. We also loved the complimentary soft drinks and waters downstairs as well. Location is ideal, located in downtown Asheville. We felt very much "at home" here!

Ryan A.

Yelp
The location was great for what we needed but the cleanliness of our suite and the friendliness of the staff made everything perfect. Zach was on duty for most of our stay. He and the other employees were very friendly and helpful. They have security protocols in place to keep people from just getting into the property from the street. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed at the Windsor Boutique Hotel this weekend in room 204 and LOVED it!! Gorgeous hotel, very secure, very clean, very well-appointed with no details missed! This hotel easily rivals any luxury resort that we have stayed on, and the location cannot be beat! We were walking distance to blocks of shops, cafés, bars, coffee houses, chocolatiers, bakeries, etc. We did not need our car to get around, so parking a couple blocks away in a $6 per day garage was not a problem at all. The staff is very courteous and we loved the goodies in the lobby. Very clever detail that makes guests feel at home and appreciated! The suite was roomy and had lovely dishes, washer/dryer, amazing closets (loved the robes and slippers-even the towels were amazing!), full sized stainless appliances, plenty of room to spread out for our family of four. We also really loved all of the great artwork in the halls and the cute "green space" areas. The coffee and chocolates were delicious as well! Well worth the money! I would give this hotel more stars if I could. We will most definitely be back in the spring! Thank you for such a lovely place to stay!

Yelp
The hotel is gorgeous and reading reviews helped set my expectations going in. I booked 2 rooms for a total of 4 guests because I wanted to make the most of the trip. I walked about 2 blocks for parking and was thankful it was only cold and not raining as predicted. I knew to not expect room service and can't recall if they had a landline in the room, but I didn't expect to call down as it's not a full service type of hotel. I chose this place because I trusted it to be clean and comfortable. Essentially like knowing someone with an amazing loft, but just no free perks. There is a gift shop to browse attached, but the closest you will get to food is the almonds they have by the desk or coffee. Again- knowing this helped tremendously. My brother typically rents a cabin in Asheville every year, but it was my moms big 70th and I wanted it to be unique and special for all of us. Walking distance to pizza place nearby and Zambros was not a far walk. Weather makes a big difference because getting to your car and leaving lots you pay in/out for can be time consuming. Of the two rooms, one was far more cozy than the other and there are no guarantees as to which you will get. The kitchen fully equipped was helpful when we wanted to sleep in and have a light breakfast before venturing out. The walls are thin and you can hear people walking above you if on the 2nd floor as well as street sounds outside. I'm not that light of a sleeper and did not opt to use the sound machines they have in the rooms. The blackout curtains were helpful to have and the tv in bedroom was also well thought out. Items like the washer/dryer were not needed, but I could see that being a big plus for some. My thoughts on the service: At the hotel they were friendly and tried to make suggestions, though they didn't seem to dine out much or have a lot of personal experience at many places. My mother left a scarf and they did call us to notify us, but when I called to follow up they stated they mailed the scarf. Weeks later no scarf in hand I called to speak with a lady who said she would ensure it was mailed and call next day, a few days later she lets me know it was mailed and the US Postal service must of lost it. So here is my annoyance with this. I spent $1900 for a high end experience for 2 nights and a memorable birthday and my mom had a personal attachment to that scarf and now the experience is tainted by it. If the hotel doesn't want to pay $10 for insured mail, fine. However let me pay for the option because it's very aggravating to have no tracking or feedback and not even an apology irks me. All said and done I probably will just rent a house next time, but it is still a nice location.

Yelp
This ranks among my top few favorite hotels. A friend and I stayed here and we both were super impressed by the property. I believe there are around 14 suites, which feel like 1 bedroom condo's, with hardwood floors and beautifully furnished with a mix of old and new. To our surprise, some of the things in the rooms you can also buy in the ground floor shop that wraps around the entry. My only complaint is that you have to park off property in a garage but that really was not a problem for us, as the hotel is in the city so you walk everywhere and we never really needed the car. If you want something unique and charming, this is the place.

Yelp
Really beautiful hotel right in the middle of town. Great ambiance and friendly staff.

Yelp
Wow!!! My wedding was in Asheville over Memorial day weekend and I chose to stay at the Windsor Thursday-Sunday (looked at the other nice hotels but liked this best)!! The room was beautiful and so spacious, with pops of color and exposed brick. My bridal party and I all had our hair and makeup done in the room (~15 people) and it fit perfectly! The photos are amazing as well with the brick, colors, furnishings and natural light. The pictures look so well with all of us getting ready and then me getting dressed as well as walking down the stairs in the hotel. My husband and I had our wedding night there and it was amazing as well!! The bed is so comfortable, the bathroom is large and the kitchen has everything - not to mention the location is absolutely wonderful! P.s. I stayed in the Exec Suite. Like I said, it was absolutely perfect!!!!

Yelp
This hotel was awesome! It is essentially like staying in an apartment. The staff was super friendly, going out of their way to cater to us. There was even a bottle of wine waiting in the room for being an Expedia VIP member. The location of this hotel could not be better - it is right in the heart of downtown. The only negative is the parking situation. You have to park up a few blocks in a public deck. There is very little room to load and unload your bags for your stay. I just think they need to tell you ahead of time what the situation is because I was very confused driving around looking for parking when I arrived. Thanks for a great stay, we will recommend this hotel to our friends for sure.

Yelp
I felt so well taken care of at the Windsor Boutique Hotel that it gave me a feeling of being home away from home. The front desk accommodated an early check-in request and was friendly, helpful and responsive. My room was lovely and incredibly spacious. The next time I am in Asheville, I'll bring the family and get even more from the amenities. If you are looking for a super nice place to stay that is close to restaurants, bars and cafes, the Windsor is perfect.

Yelp
I stayed at the Windsor last night. What a wonderful experience. From the moment you walk in the lobby you realize you are someplace special. The space is filled local artists' work and is amazing My room was lush and wonderfully decorated. The art in every room is all so gorgeous. The linens and bedding were so soft and luxurious. My sitting room was comfortable. With a kitchen in the suite, I felt I didn't even have to leave. It made me feel like I was at home. I've stayed in many boutique hotels around the world...This one is by far the prettiest and best decorated! I Would definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful and well appointed hotel! What a wonderful experience.

Yelp
In my many travels to Asheville, I have stayed in hotels and rented homes and The Windsor is hands down the BEST place to stay. I had the good fortune to be one of the first people to stay in this boutique hotel and have toured every single room. All I can say in AMAZING. Hands down the nicest hotel in Asheville. No competition when it comes to this property. The design was originally for high end one bedroom condos. So every room has a full bedroom, gorgeous bath, plenty of closet space, a full kitchen, and living room area. The rooms are very luxurious with very high end furniture and design. You will find local artwork and Parisian antiques which make it the perfect eclectic mix of luxury and charm. You can even purchase the local artwork which is amazing and totally supports the Go Local culture of Asheville. The space is very clean and luxurious. You can either get a great view of the bars and restaurants around you or stay in a more private room. They have it all. As far as location, it is PERFECT. You can walk to everything in Downtown Asheville. We parked our car and NEVER needed it again. Mellow Mushroom is across the street, Five Walnut is up the road, and more bars, restaurants, galleries than you could fit in a weekend. Good news is this place is perfectly suited for longer stays. I almost hesitated to write this review becauseI know once the secret gets out, this place will be booked solid. Best stay in Asheville. I will be back. Thanks to the Windsor for the best girls weekend EVER!!

Yelp
This place rip us off!!!!!!!! I had made a reservation the night before thru EXPEDIA. Drove to the area that afternoon, drove around the place for 1 hour. There was absolutely NO place to park. IN fact, you couldn't even find a place to pull up to the curb as downtown Asheville traffic was so heavy. We finally had to find somewhere else to stay. I talk with the man on duty at the Windsor Boutique, and all he had to say was "no, we have nowhere to park, sorry you had to find another place". When I returned home, I found that my credit card had been billed $263.17!! I called EXPEDIA x 2 to have this rectified. They were absolutely no help, saying that they called the Windsor Boutique and the manager denied us a refund because it was "passed their cut-off" when I was able to reach them and cancel. This is B.S. B. Williams Indianapolis, IN

Yelp
We stayed 3 nights in suite 307, and it was everything we wanted and more. You should know a few key things... Each suite is uniquely designed and decorated. You will have a full kitchen with most of what you need such as glasses, utensils, bowls, etc. Coffee maker with local coffee was also provided. There is no room service or food available inside the hotel. We stocked up with drinks and snacks so this was fine. There is not a typical cleaning service. Someone came in each day to make the bed, empty trash, replenish towels, etc., however this was done by the staff who also greets you. Not a problem for us but was not typical. The location just cannot get any better. You are close to restaurants, bars, arts, etc. The staff at the front desk was very helpful with suggestions and we enjoyed everything they suggested. The noise level outside can get pretty loud so they offered us a sound machine in our room. Using this we had no issues with noise and slept great. The bed was extremely comfortable and all linens were luxury quality. We loved our experience at the Windsor...you simply need to know that it is not a typical hotel and is more like a condo. But it was perfect for us and is definitely a higher end feel. I would definitely stay here again!!

Yelp
My husband and I came up for one night for my 30th birthday. Once we got into our room we realized our toilet wasn't filling with water so we couldn't flush. We notified the front desk on the way out as we left for dinner that night. On the way back in we were told that there was an issue with the water filling but maintenance would be by in the morning to fix it. The front desk left us a note (see picture) explaining the issue. They also left a $25 gift card to a cocktail bar. Unfortunately this does us any good as I am pregnant and can't drink. Not to mention we were only staying for one night and were already in for the evening so when was even my husband going to use this gift card? So for the entire night and morning my husband and I took turns filling up the toilet with water so we could flush it. When we woke up the next morning to brush our teeth, we noticed brown water coming from the sink. No one had mentioned to us any issues with water so we had no idea what was going on. When we checked out that morning we were told we would be given a $50 credit (out of $600) for not being able to use our toilet. We asked about the water and were told there was a boil advisory for Asheville, although we were "supposed" to have been told about it when we checked in. So we couldn't use the restroom, couldn't brush our teeth/wash our face and we paid over $600. Would have been better off staying at the best western. Extremely disappointed by the communication and conflict resolution by the management staff. We definitely won't be returning and will make sure all of our friends and family don't either.

Yelp
We just spent two nights at Windsor Boutique Hotel in ASHVILLE NC and our accommodations were perfect. This hotel is right in the middle of everything so after parking our car we easily walked everywhere. The staff members were so pleasant and helpful. We will return.

Yelp
Windsor was one of the most comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, apartment-like, boutique hotel experiences ever, and I have been everywhere. From reclaimed barn wood floors to living room decor with all DirecTV channels to firm bed to spacious bathroom to full kitchen, this was a refreshingly unique experience, especially for my first time in lovely Asheville.

Yelp
This is one of great properties...that you really remember...location wonderful...food amazing...apartment was so great laundry full kitchen...livingroom and bed so comfortable. You felt as if you just purchased a great little get away. Staff is exceptionally good...nothing is problem for them....love love this place and Asheville in general great small city!!!

Yelp
Can I live here? Because we loved this hotel! Quirky, beautiful and spacious. Made us feel right at home - literally - in the heart of Asheville. Excellent service, too. Downside? No food in the hotel, but that's ok because you've got a refrigerator to store your own or your choice of nearby fantastic restaurants.

Yelp
Highly recommend staying at the Windsor! The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. They had several outstanding food recommendations which made our stay even more enjoyable.

Yelp
We stayed for several days during our wedding weekend and did not want to leave. Our room was gorgeous!!! The staff were so helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The location was wonderful, right next to our event venue and walkable to great things nearby! We would absolutely stay here again!

Loved this little jewel. Right in downtown. It's not a Holiday Inn, or Intercontinental, or big box whatever...It's a boutique hotel, with an Airbnb vibe of staying a friends apartment. Great staff who are helpful, but not in your face. We stayed in 307. It was perfect for two people. We did have a noisy neighbor one night who decided to do their laundry at 3am, but overall, we had a great stay. I love the BED. Sorry, did I mention that I love the bed. Oh yeah, if you really want a great hotel with amazing BEDS!!! That really was a pleasant surprise. Also, there's a really good breakfast place two store fronts from the front door. I am sure I'll be back again soon.

Yelp
The rooms are absolutely beautiful, the service is amazing, and the overall vibe of the hotel is great; however, the three star rating is due to the lack of soundproofing. Forget sleeping at night if the wine bar across the street or another pub nearby has their windows open. Seriously. The windows / walls at the Windsor are like paper. I could have sung along to each song if I wanted (Ghostbusters, Jesse's Girl, the list goes on). That's how clearly I could hear the music. We are in our early thirties and totally up for hanging, but we also like to actually sleep when our heads hit the pillow.

Yelp
So clean and the perfect getaway place! It is like a small condo, complete with kitchen and washer and dryer! It is tastefully decorated and has a great location. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Wow! A wonder find in the " downtown area". The host are lovely. Called before check in to determine any needs or wants. Extremely hospitable. Very swanky accommodations within walking distant to everything. Just like downtown Chicago but with warmth and hospitality. So far, so good. Would not hesitate to recommend the place for short or long term stay. Accommodates all.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful and charming hotel, in a great location. We walked to locally-owned wine bars, restaurants and roof-top bars, and shopped at charming shops and galleries. The hotel itself has had a wonderful renovation, retaining beautiful hard-wood floors, high ceilings, etc, while adding modern and funky updates. Our rooms were huge, with full kitchens and living areas. The beds were comfortable. And the staff went above and beyond to make our stay lovely.

Yelp
Impeccable service, great location and incredibly clean. Could not have asked for a better stay for a weekend getaway. It was more space than we needed because we stayed gone 90% of the time, but it was still a lovely stay.

Yelp
More similar to an Airbnb rental than a hotel. They call themselves a boutique hotel but there is very little service. Occasionally there is someone in the lobby but they aren't trained to assist with anything that you'd be accustomed to in a boutique experience or for that matter any hotel experience. Somehow after our first night they left our room midway through cleaning with the bed unmade and towels on the floor. We returned after hiking for the day and advised the person sitting at the front of the omission and were told that it would need to wait until the next day. I guess they don't have the ability to provide clean towels after 6:00? On the positive side. Staff is friendly and pleasant. The location is perfect in Downtown Asheville. The hallways are cool and eclectic. The rooms are well decorated and unique. Perfect if you are looking for a well located and nicely furnished condo to rent.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Windsor in June and we loved it! There are personal touches throughout the hotel that really make it feel like a home away from home. In the lobby there are complementary beverages and snacks available at all time. Our room was immaculately clean and offered the most amenities I have ever seen. There was a kitchen (it had an oven, microwave and full size fridge). Additionally, there was a washer/dryer (with detergent pods), sofa bed, and two flat screen TV's. Our Bedroom was off to the side of the kitchen and the "living room". We had a king size bed that was extremely comfortable. There were two chocolates welcoming us from the chocolate shop across the street, which I consider a nice touch. The room came complete with a safe, bathrobes, slippers, you name it! These guys did not miss anything. Whatever you need is available to you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This takes luxury to the next level. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed. I never thought I'd get decorating ideas from a hotel room, but this one was absolutely inspiring. We stayed with our two young girls, so having the kitchen and washing machine was a bonus. Everything was comfortable. In the lobby were complimentary drinks and pastries in the morning. Chelsea at the front desk is a gem. We left a few things behind, but the staff found them and she promptly sent them back to us. I couldn't be happier. We will be returning. You will have to look for parking, but there is a municipal parking garage a few blocks away. Make use of the unloading spot in front of the hotel. The front desk folks are more than happy to help. They will also store your luggage if your room is not yet ready.

Yelp
I would go nowhere else in Asheville. The location is perfect - downtown with all the cool places to shop and eat. We walked to some wine dives, cafes, dinner, great little shops. We had a one-bedroom and stayed with our 2 teenage daughters. They loved the place. Full kitchen, full bathroom and even laundry facilities in your room. We stayed on the third floor and enjoyed taking the stairs down to the lobby as you can view all the local artwork on display for sale. We parked on the street with no problem. Free coffee, drinks in the lobby.

Yelp
A stay at the Windsor is like staying at a friend's luxurious condo. Everything about this one bedroom suite was elegant and comfortable. That said, a couple of things a guest should know: There is no daily housekeeping service., and there is no staff on premises after 7:00 p.m. We found that the trash piled up in the small trash cans in the room and staff didn't offer any suggestions about this ongoing situation. We brought the bag from the kitchen down to the front desk one morning and the desk clerk had no idea what to do with it! And as I said, after 7:00 p.m., you're on your own, which was a little disconcerting. But if you are going to stay in Asheville for more than a couple of days, this is the place to stay.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Everything from the decor to the customer service was impeccable. We stayed for the weekend and I wish we could have stayed longer. The suite had a full kitchen, living room and wash and dryer that came in handy. The staff was so helpful in suggesting things to do and the best places to eat. It's right in the heart of downtown and perfect walking distance to everything.

Yelp
Just wow. An true find. Exceptionally designed rooms with the exposed brick look, contrasted with cozy but artistic furnishings. Walk in master closet, laundry, and full kitchen and dining table...amazing. Great for a couple's get away or with the kids (due to the space). The location couldn't be better...just blocks from all the best Asheville restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever been more pleasantly surprised by a hotel. It was incredibly well decorated, the staff was amazing, the location could not have been better. Top to bottom this place gets an A+. Not only was our room more like a modern condo than a hotel room, there were little touches that made it a notch above others (exposed brick walls, 10 ft ceiling, a full bag of local Black Mountain coffee in the kitchen, local chocolates in the bedroom, chilled mugs in the freezer). They've really done an outstanding job. Won't even think about staying anywhere else when visiting Asheville!
