We had booked lunch and found the food to be pretty good particularly the soft shell crab and prawn taco and the rack of lamb. Our server, Summer was exceptional. She was warm friendly and very personable but equally professional and efficient. We, together with another table, asked that the music be turned down as a heavy bass in a fairly empty restaurant with an average age of 60 was not ideal. We were informed that volume control is handled by H.O which is crazy, Summer explained that they have the option to do certain things but the system is somewhat unpredictable, The Wine House really need to reassess this if they want to encourage diners at quieter times ie Wednesday lunchtime. I fully appreciate a different vibe on weekends with bottomless brunches and have also enjoyed that experience at the Wine House too but the staff really need to be in a position to respond to the needs of their customers where appropriate, It would be impossible to hear well in a group of more than two so really not conducive to a relaxing lunch. Having spent £110 on lunch, I would think twice about returning as Lichfield has many excellent eating places none of which do you have to suffer loud music either at lunch or dinner and it makes for a far more enjoyable experience. It is for this reason alone that I rated it a 4
