The Winston

Winston has been on my list to visit. The service is outstanding! Kinzey, our waitress, was very friendly and welcoming! The manager, Jordan, came and visited us during our visit and was very informative and socal! The menu is diverse and appetizing. Lots of choices, but not overwhelming like a lot of places. We settled on the Crab Dip for appetizer, Sweet Soy Shrimp Tacos, and Chicken Apple Bacon Blue Cheese Flat Bread. we came in on a Sunday 9/29/2025 a little after 2 pm. Lots of available seating. Probably only had 20 guests max. Will definitely be back again! Thank you Winston and Staff.

Lovely place in downtown Norman. Our server was helpful, friendly, and efficient. Loved my stacked enchilada. Black bean side was just ok. Husband liked his prime minster chicken sandwich but that along with his fries were spiced a little too much so he drank three iced teas in succession. Recommend.

We had the the Seared Ahi Tuna Mazesoba and Shakshuka stew. Both were excellent and unique to see on a menu. We had multiple people ask if we needed anything. Great lunch date.

The server was impeccable! The food was pretty tasty! Enjoyed the atmosphere as well. Would recommend to friends and family.

I had the pleasure of spending our weekly date night at this charming spot last Tuesday, and it was a truly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere was warm, and the service was attentive, making for a memorable experience. For dinner, I opted for the fillet, which was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My friend went with the tuna, and it was equally impressive, fresh and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The menu offers a great selection of dishes, but what stood out the most was their extensive whisky collection. Four pages of options made it clear they take their drinks seriously, and it's definitely worth exploring for whisky enthusiasts. If I had one critique, it would be the industrial design of the space. While modern, it does contribute to the ambiance becoming a bit loud, making it hard to carry on intimate conversations. That being said, the overall dining experience was fantastic, and the food more than made up for the noise. We’re already looking forward to returning, especially for brunch someday—this place clearly has much more to offer.

Best restaurant in Norman. Hands down. I bring every single person here. They have the greatest food and service. I’ve never had a single thing that wasn’t jaw dropping amazing. The truffle shuffle burger is literally the greatest thing on planet earth. Our server today, Cassie, was the kindest, absolute best server we’ve ever had! Love love love this place.

Great atmosphere. Went in for drinks. Also Ordered fries and only got less than a handful. Wasn't worth the price paid at all.

Outstanding service,calm atmosphere and the menu is eclectic and rare. I highly recommend the duck wings and the shrimp tacos. Also "My hands are Thai'd" drink is flavorful and custom. Highly recommend for the college crowd, adult crowd and a late night during the week few. The fire outside was enjoyable and make sure you look into the happy endings.

Two words: TRUFFLE. FRIES. In or outdoors, the restaurant is pristine and very aesthetically pleasing. ALWAYS the most amazing service from both the hosts and waiters, and the menu has the coolest dishes with some creative flavors to try. Fair warning though, picky eaters likely won't be a big fan! Not much basic eats to choose from but there are a few.

What a wonderful spot to grab a drink and great food. Their food options are truly delicious. Give the sweet potato pasta a try, you won't be disappointed. Server Johnathan is a superstar. Consider asking for his section. He's full of energy, very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their offerings. The Winston is a great time and opportunity to spend some time in a historic Norman building. Highly recommended!

The Winston is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner if you find yourself in Norman, Oklahoma. My wife stumbled across their Yelp and dragged me in so that she we could try their chicken fried steak sandwich. I AM VERY PLEASED to have come by, this place is A GEM! First of all the vibe and decor of this resteraunt is very modern and upbeat and I loved that. Menu has a variety and the drink menu was very extensive. Since we were there for happy hour, we appreciated their fantastic selections of whiskey and port wines. We sat at the bar and our bartender was incrediblely helpful! She made some great reccoemndations and was just very kind. After placing our order, our drinks and food we're out in minutes. Food was of great quality and seasoned/cooked to perfection. For $76 bucks I had an incredible dinner with my wife and we had several drinks. The happy hour is truly a great deal! The food and service is truly great. Do your life a favor and grab a bite to eat The Winston.

Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 Food came out quickly. Ordered the roasted pork shoulder, a side of fries, and a glass of merlot. Pork itself was a bit dry and under seasoned, but if eaten together with the caramel onions, it was perfect. Broccoli was cooked well with still a little bit of crunch and also seasoned well. Fries were nice and crispy. Server was pleasant and checked on my table at just the right frequency. Once of the better places in Norman.

Immediate seating always starts the visit out right. Matt was an attentive and competent server. Shakshuka at brunch was off the charts: hint of sweetness in the cornbread base, attention-getting spice in the tomato stew, and perfectly cooked sunny-side up eggs. Solid American burger with Parmesan truffle fries. Good grilled cheese and tomato soup. Great biscuits and gravy. Dessert was worth the splurge: chocolate mousse cake was a large portion and the sweet potato cheesecake with toasted marshmallows on top was a modest but perfectly-sized portion: all the flavor, none of the guilt!

Fun find for good food. The food was extremely delicious and packed with flavor. I will say the service is sub par. It took about 15 minutes for our original server to even greet us and offer us drinks. Then another 20 minutes of waiting on just the two drinks we ordered. (Water and Dr Pepper, not a bar drink) The manager noticed we still hadn't had our beverages or our meal order taken and took care of us from there. Our server told us 'the computers froze' which is a bit hard to believe because everyone around us had been continuously served and no other server seemed put out. She could have at least brought us waters to tide us over while we waited and told us about the delay. We had both had long days and just wanted a quick bite to eat so the ridiculous waiting sort of ruined our 'first time' experience there.

We met our daughter for lunch on a recent Wednesday. What a pleasant surprise. The room is casual, clean and comfortable. Our server was very competent and all smiles. We started with the fired buffalo wonton app which was much better than it sounds. My wife and I had similar dishes with the seared tuna. Good size portions and vert tasty. We plan to check out the Edmond location and take some friends.

A fun spot to stop for a late lunch. A great waiter name Jake! Everything we got was delicious!

This is the best upscale "grill" in Norman. They hire the best staff and have really high standards.

Our server was awesome. She suggested the mulled wine! We had a nice late lunch. The vegetable stew is still amazing!

The Truffle Shuffle Burger is EXACTLY what I needed. As I'm quick to order a burger before anything, I couldn't help what came with it along with swapping the patty for a lighter option. Before that came out, I got to try the Crispy Duck Wings. The wings were good. It was coated with a sriracha-sweet chili glaze & hoisin (I LOVE hoisin), the flavors that took place made me want to not share & clean the plate (we had a big group). As for the burger, I got the Garlic Quinoa Vegan Patty & I've never had a patty like that before. It was also good. Outside of that, the burger comes with truffle oil, parmesan crisp, pickled red onion, sautéed mushrooms, soy-garlic aioli AND melted mozzarella cheese. Yeah... Just Imagine... So much flavor. I enjoyed my side of Spicy Sweet Fries, sweet potato fries hit with hot honey. They also have Scarborough Fries, which are LOADED with different herbs & hot honey. The service was great. One server was initially taking care of the whole party (we had two tables split out on the front patio). Extra assistance would come here & there, overall consistent. I'd come back to try more of their menu.

Big fan of the Winston - perfect place for happy hour, thanks to their 4/5/6 menu. Get the perfect margarita; i's aptly named! The staff is always super friendly, and we've never had to wait to be seated. Looking forward to the day we can enjoy the lovely patio area, too!

Basic American restaurant with wide range of whiskey and liquor. Service was good. It's got Winston Churchill pictures all over as name suggests. The food was pretty good. I had bacon avocado burger with truffle parmesan fries. It's not amazing but still a good burger. The buns are soft and pickled jalapeno compliments the bacon and avocado well. The only disappointing part was that truffle flavor was pretty weak for the fries.

Place next door is where we were headed for brunch, but over an hour wait. We got right into The Winston, so were prepared for just a basic place. Super Toast - very flavorful, healthy and not healthy. Shakshuka- Beautiful dish, spice level good, good choice. Biscuits and gravy - hearty, scrambled eggs a little dry, but the B&G was really good. Nice patio atmosphere. Would come back if in OK again.

My favorite Happy Hour in Norman. Cocktails are yummy, they have the best parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme sweet potato fries with hot honey, the truffle shuffle burger is delicious and they use butter lettuce for their wedge salad instead of gross iceberg. The fire pits on the patio are cozy when it's cold and the staff is always fantastic.

What can I say about the Winston?. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect. The star quality of this restaurant is most definitely the staff who are top notch and always accommodating, even when I bike in for a cocktail once in a while.

The Truffle Shuffle Burger at Winstons's is amazingly delicious -- the mushrooms, the parmesan crisp, pickled onions, mozzarella -- whoever created this dish outdid themselves. I subbed the Garlic Quinoa burger for the regular, and a salad with house-made lemon vinaigrette. The salad itself was beyond the norm - fresh green mix as base with arugula which I love. And kudos on that house-made Lemon Vinaigrette - it's delicious. So glad I didn't settle for "the usual" balsamic (no offense.) The rest of our table ordered the Seared Ahi Soba "Perfect!" And the Power Bowl with Grilled Chicken which apparently was really good because it disappeared fast. Nick, our server, was great. We appreciated his helpfulness and care throughout. Hope we get his section again.

Great food and service. The Winston sandwich is fabulous! The sweet potato french fries as well. They are adding the chicken wrap special to the menu and it is excellent also. We will definitely be back.

Great place to sit and unwind or chill with some friends. Atmosphere is great along with the service. The vibe is very cool with its chosen decor, surroundings, location, and environment. The chicken nachos are a little different but extremely good and just the right amount so you won't over eat. Awesome service and ambience...would definitely hang out here again. Oh, and by the way, they make their own pickled jalapeños. They're good!

Ambiance is cool. Service friendly but not fast (which was okay with us this day). I had the pick 2 lunch of loaded smashed potato and wedge salad. Salad was amazing as usual. This loaded smashed potato was strange and so very bland. I won't order that again. Hubs had the tomato soup and grilled cheese and said it was good (especially the soup).

Quite a bit of hype and from our experience slightly overrated. Salads are good. Late night crowd not as refined as one might hope.

The chicken parmesan is AMAZING. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and the noodles are incredible. When I initially ordered, I didn't realize the noodles were sweet potatoes. I probably wouldn't have ordered it if I read the description.... But DANG I am so glad I got it because they are incredible! Now I get it every time I go! PS- happy hour starting at 3pm and patio is dog friendly!

Best restaurant in Norman. The food is consistently good and as an OU alum this is a must stop whenever I come to town to visit. Their happy hour is amazing and I will always recommend the ceviche, the tacos, spicy chicken nachos, banana pepper Caesar and a perfect margarita. Must go!

Great patio spot on a nice afternoon. Very attentive staff a nice menu for brunch or lunch. We enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and brisket sliders. Good selection of beers and cocktails as well.

This was my daughters spot while she lived in Norman the past 4 years. Hence we had to eat there after her recent noon graduation! They were able to accommodate our part of 16 within 15 minutes! Which was amazing! We had some of their happy hour drinks and of course their signs chambongs which all were simply delicious! We ordered all sorts of food as we had ages 3 to 58 and everyone was happy with the food! Last but not least our server was amazing and attentive to our large party!

Being a Hal Smith restaurant is a good thing. This is like if Charlestons and Pub W had a kid!! The menu is great and the cocktails are fabulous. Staff was good and I really like the WINSTON CHURCHILL vibe. Recommend this place!!!!

We did have to wait a little while for a table, but the food and the service were fantastic. They had were trying out a new broccoli recipe and it was divine! The restaurant was cozy and had great theming. Will be revisiting!

We hadn't eaten here in a while. The food was good. I got a The American Burger ($13) with jalapeño's and some sweet potato fries. My wife got the Banana Pepper Caesar Salad with shrimp ($13). The only reason I didn't give this a 5 was because of the portions. Pretty small. At the same time, the burger was only $13 (I paid extra for sweet potato fries) and the salad was $7 originally. I don't know just a little short on value even with the lower prices. In addition to the food, we ordered a few drinks because it was happy hour. It's a really good happy hour. It was early, probably 4:30. But I was able to get a Perfect Margarita for $4.95 when it's usually $12. Really good deal. My wife got a Mojito. Both were good. I believe from 5pm - 6pm they go to $5.95 so still a good deal.

I love the Winston's weekend brunch and their yummy lattes and drinks! A great spot even out on the patio, love it!

Stopped in for a Happy Hour as my department came to do a small belated Holiday get together. Their Happy Hour deals were definitely a big hit with us! The perfect margarita was one of the best I've had! I have zero complaints other than we never got refills on water and almost always had to search for our waitress but the environment and yummy appetizers overpowered that. I'd say if you are in the area for a quick drink & bite, definitely stop for to take advantage of their Happy Hour! The ambiance inside and out was worth it!

I planned a party to celebrate an engagement. Chelsea was fantastic, super helpful and willing to make our large group work.

Delicious tomato soup with crusted grill cheese sandwich! Wife had 1/2 head of lettuce which was the huge salad dish. What she had was delicious. Also had a half bbq chicken sandwich. NEVER HAD TO WAIT FOR MORE TEA!! Very nice place to visit with family. Not loud at all. Can't wait to go back. Party of five all enjoyed.

Not one of the top 10 quietest restaurants despite being featured in an article claiming it was. Despite that, the food was amazing. We sat outside and it was quieter and more comfortable since they were busy and only had high seating available inside.

We met friends here for lunch and were delighted! Our hostess and server were helpful and very friendly. The sangria spritz was fabulous. We all enjoyed our meals--I loved pick 2: salad, grilled cheese, and tomato soup; hubby loved his bbq chicken sandwich; and friends loved the steak and chicken parmigiana. We'll definitely come back!

Pretty tasty spot! We opted to sit inside versus out on the patio, and I regret not sitting out! It was a bit too chilly and loud for me inside. As for the food, we started with the sweet soy shrimp tacos, and we were quite impressed with how tasty and fresh they were. However, it was $8 for two tacos which I think is a bit steep. For our entrees, we ordered the truffle shuffle burger (subbed out regular fries for their parmesan truffle fries) as well as the chicken parmesan. The chicken was delicious, but this was probably the dish that missed the mark for us. It was served with sweet potato noodles which was interesting, but we found the tomato sauce to be too overwhelming. The truffle shuffle burger however, may have been one of the best burgers I have ever had! It had a nice smashed patty with pickled red onions, a nice aioli, a PARMESAN CRISP, and a soft and shiny bun. The fries were also incredibly light and crisp, and they were oh so good with parmesan and truffle. I wish we had more! Our service was not entirely too memorable, but the burger and fries sure were!

Stopped into The Winston to grab a drink and some appetizers with a girlfriend the other day and was very happy with our food, my drink, and the overall vibe. It was a beautiful sunset that evening too. Sitting outside was definitely the move. Service was quick, our waitress was very nice, and I could probably eat their Drunken Tuna Ceviche every day... their new Patatas Bravas were also pretty good. A nice balance of salty, crispy, and saucy. The Ceviche and Frozen Watermelon Fresca combo hit nicely. Can't wait to come back for a full meal sometime soon.

We ate here with our college son and his friends and it was really good. Service was excellent and I would definitely eat here again.

This place can get pretty busy. Don't be afraid to sit at the bar for dinner. Amazing service!! Try the ceviche appetizer!!
