Our Favorite Universal Orlando Resort Attractions You Can't Miss | Condé Nast Traveler

"The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley at Universal Studios is one seriously impressive and richly themed land, from the fire-breathing dragon atop Gringotts Bank to the props scattered throughout the shops—many recreated by the films’ prop designer or straight from the set itself. And just like in the Harry Potter books and movies, Diagon Alley is hidden to the untrained eye. Follow the crowds to pass through the brick wall facade, which takes you from present-day London into the familiar cobblestoned streetscape. For the ultimate HP experience, pick up wizard robes for the whole family—trimmed in the colors of the Hogwarts house of your choice—for about $115 each; there’s no better way to get into the wizarding spirit." - Valerie Marino

This is a fantastic place. We are all huge Harry Potter fans, so very excited to visit. The sets and designs are out of this world, as are the rides. The main downside is the volume of people that can detract from your enjoyment. Having to fight to move around, get in and out of shops is crazy. Sadly this only brings out the worst in fellow muggles in the park. The lockers for rides was very stressful. Personally I'd avoid during school holidays and summer. There's loads to love about this section of the park but Universal need to prioritise the experience over volumes of people in the park. We bought our son a new generation wand and 92 dollars for what is essentially moulded plastic is insane. This creates much of the movie atmosphere in the areas but just as you're starting to enjoy it, you're being pushed or bumped into. I'm so pleased we paid for fast passes as 2 hours to queue for rides in the extreme heat is horrific for all, especially families with small children.

Amazing experience for Harry Potter fans. If you get a wand, you can cast spells at various locations throughout. Train ride is really near. The butter beer is butterscotch soda, with a thick cream on top. It was a bit much for me, but could be worth trying if you like floats. Lots of cool HP merchandise, including things for the various houses. .

⸻ I visited The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios during Christmas break in December. Honestly, it was really fun and really cool. It felt so unique. I have never been to an amusement park that put this much effort and detail into honoring a franchise like this. It felt like I was walking through a scene from Harry Potter. I forgot the name of the streets in the movies where Harry and Ron get candy, where Harry gets his wand, and where the bank is, but it felt just like that. They nailed the atmosphere. One of the coolest parts was when my daughter got a wand. You get to pick which wand you want and then you can use it around the Harry Potter world to do spells. It is motion activated, so you have to move the wand a certain way to trigger things. One spot made a water fountain go off. Another made lights flicker. One of them made a painting or picture come to life and talk. That whole feature was just so awesome to see in person. They also have this huge dragon on top of one of the buildings that breathes real fire every so often. You can feel the heat from it and the whole area lights up when it happens. There are also spots where water leaks down the walls on purpose to add to the atmosphere. They even have the candy shop where you can buy the same candies from the movies. All in all, my daughter and sister had a blast. I had a blast too, and we did not even go on any of the rides. That is why I gave it four stars instead of five. The only downside was the wait times for the rides. Anything related to Harry Potter was at least a three hour wait. That part was honestly frustrating and kept us off the rides, but we still had a great time just exploring everything else.

Although we really enjoyed our visit to Universal and were fortunate to start off with a sunny morning but by late afternoon there were electric storms which caused the park to close rides periodically for safety reasons. We weren't able to access many of the rides we would have liked to for this reason. We used the park app to calculate wait time and go directly to those attractions. The idea of waiting 60+ min to ride on an attraction is poor customer service in my mind so the Universal App was very useful. From around 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm (45 min.) we were literally stuck on a ride in the NY section and couldn't get off until they found a solution. We were compensated with a fast pass to get on the ride again which is pretty funny. Personally, I feel the full price of a ticket to Universal for 2 parks in one day is overrated for the amount of attractions we were able to access due to the wait times and delays due to weather, etc. Just as a clarification, there were 0% calls for rain/storms in the morning before we left. The changeable nature of the weather in the summer is a good thing to keep in mind. Also worth mentioning is in the Harry Potter section they sell two "generations" of wands. For 10 dollars more, one does all of the tricks as you walk along. If you don't get the better one, half of the interactive magic tricks don't work, which is a total rip-off after convincing children that they have their destined "wand" that chooses them but doesn't work when they go to use it. Really frustrating! The park should really revise the sale of wands and get rid of the ones that don't work since it makes parents feel angry since literally they are selling you a defective wand for 10 dollars less. Although an interactive wand is a fun idea and a big money maker for sure, in reality it is a big disappointment so don't waste your money. The whole Harry Potter experience would have been more fun with more actors and or magicians and live interactions instead. The park really should deliver a better experience with the amount of money they charge. I would not spend my money to go back. It isn't worth it.

The new Wizarding World of Harry Potter is pure magic from the moment you step inside. Whether you're a lifelong fan or just casually familiar with the series, the level of detail, atmosphere, and immersive storytelling is absolutely next level. The design of the entire area is stunning. Every building, alleyway, and storefront feels like it was pulled right from the films. From the cobblestone streets to the moving portraits and flickering lanterns, it’s easy to lose yourself in the world they’ve created. You don’t just feel like a visitor, you feel like you’re part of the story. The attractions are outstanding. The new ride is a perfect blend of thrilling coaster elements and cutting-edge technology. It takes you on an unforgettable adventure with incredible visual effects, smooth motion, and surprising twists. It’s easily one of the best theme park rides out there today. Beyond the rides, the shops are a highlight. From Ollivanders where you can get your wand (or have one choose you) to Honeydukes and Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, every location is packed with unique items and interactive elements. The butterbeer is still a must-try, and now they’ve added even more food and drink options that feel straight out of the books. What really pushes this experience over the top is the staff. Every team member is in character, helpful, and genuinely excited to bring the world to life. Whether it’s a wand demonstration or just chatting in line, they help make the entire experience feel real. Overall, the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter is not just a theme park attraction. It is an unforgettable journey into one of the most beloved fictional universes ever created. The creative team behind it went above and beyond, and it shows in every corner. This is a must-visit for fans and one of the most immersive experiences you’ll find anywhere. Five stars without hesitation.

Hey everyone and welcome to the breakdown of the wizarding world of Harry Potter found nowhere else but, Universal Studios Orlando, Florida. I got an up-front seat to some of the greatest movie attraction thrill rides from the past 40 years! No doubt, it's a fun place for a family getaway trip. They say pictures speak louder than words so take a look and decide for yourself.

Diagon Alley at Universal Orlando is pure magic! Every detail is incredibly well-crafted, making you feel like you’ve stepped into the Wizarding World. From the stunning storefronts to the immersive atmosphere, even the restrooms are on theme! The fire-breathing dragon is a must-see, and the shops are packed with authentic merchandise. The interactive wands add an extra layer of fun, bringing the magic to life. The only downside? It’s always crowded, even on quieter days. But despite that, the experience is absolutely worth it—truly a dream come true for any Harry Potter fan!

July 2025 The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley was such a cool place where it was my first time checking it out. The design was impressive and sucked you into the world of Harry Potter. There was the usual eats and butterbeer and shops full of Harry Potter merchandise. The uniqueness was live shows, dragon spitting out fire, and hidden alleyways. Wands helped open secrets along the streets. It truly is a magical place where explore it three time while I was at Universal Studios Florida.

Yelp
What a fantastic fall break! I got to spend time with my boys riding rollercoasters, exploring Harry Potter, seeing the Simpsons, and basically having the time of my life! We spent three days here and filled each day with early arrival and didn't leave until they made us. Be prepared if you think you got here early enough to be first inline for early arrival... you didn't. In fact either did the hundreds of people in front of you. But ohhh this place is soooo much fun! We r hit in every ride we wanted to, a couple we didn't want, and a bunch of them more than a few times. The hulk, the raptor, the riptide rocket, and several of the Harry Potter rides we got one 4 or 5 times each. We deffinitely maxed out our time here and enjoyed every min!

Yelp
It was fun to explore. Enjoyed the kwikemart and Harry Potter rides. Though make sure to come on a non holiday weekend. It was super packed. The green eggs and ham place is Sus. Food taste funky and the service was not good.

Yelp
At the time of writing this review, I've been to Universal Studios twice, once as a kid and once as an adult. When I went as a kid, it wasn't long after the park had opened (on June 7, 1990). I also went to Universal Studios Hollywood around the same time. When I went as an adult, it was earlier this year (2025). I had fun. I went as part of a group of five people, mainly tagging along because the primary purpose of the visit was for the others to experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. While I'm not a Harry Potter fan, I enjoyed the Wizarding World and I think it's worth checking out even if you aren't familiar with the material. In order to get the full Harry Potter experience, we purchased the "2-Park 1-Day Park-to-Park Dated Adult" for $194.00 per person plus the "2PK Express" for $149.99 per person. $343.99 per person total. Those gave us all-day access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, and the 2-Park Universal Express Pass for express ride access (fast pass). The Express Pass saved us a lot of time. It enabled us to see and do more things. Therefore, I think it's worth the extra cost. We stayed at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and got a $100 credit to use for in-park purchases at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. To use this credit, we had to make charges using our hotel room key card. This credit was a benefit of the American Express Platinum Card. For those unfamiliar with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, it consists of two areas in two separate parks: (1) Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure; opened June 18, 2010 and (2) Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida; opened July 8, 2014. Soon, a third area and park will open. Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe will open May 22, 2025. Separately, I reviewed the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and several of the places within (e.g., rides, restaurants). I think Diagon Alley, which is located here at Universal Studios Florida, is a must-visit. For an overview of Diagon Alley and things to see and do there, see my review here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/diagon-alley-orlando As a child, my favorite ride at Universal Studios was Back to the Future: The Ride. It unfortunately no longer exists. The version here opened on May 1, 1991 and closed on March 30, 2007. It was replaced by The Simpsons Ride, which opened on April 23, 2008 and still operates today. A replica DeLorean time machine is on display at Springfield, the Simpsons area at Universal Studios Florida. We took a picture with it. I had a lot of fun in Springfield. It was funny to see so many places in the show in real life. Places like Kwik-E-Mart, Moe's Tavern, and Lard Lad Donuts, just to name a few. We ate the "Big Pink" giant donut at Lard Lad: https://www.instagram.com/td2timemvp/reel/DEvM8VvyOMZ/ We played carnival games at Krustyland, where I successfully tossed three out of three balls in the tub toss game, "Thar She Blows": https://x.com/TD2timeMVP/status/1878303898898698453 Men in Black Alien Attack was fun. It was both a ride with and laser tag against aliens. You can read my review for it here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/men-in-black-alien-attack-orlando My fondest memory from this recent visit, due to nostalgia, was riding the E.T. Adventure again for the first time in nearly 35 years. It's the oldest active ride at Universal Studios Florida. Even to this day, it still holds its magical charm and appeal to me. You can read my review for E.T. Adventure here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/e-t-adventure-orlando-2 Another thing I have to mention is - as a cinephile and big fan of movies from the 80s and 90s, I loved entering the park to some of what I think are the most iconic movie themes: Back to the Future's End Credits / theme song by Alan Silvestri (1985) and Beetlejuice's Main Titles / theme song by Danny Elfman (1988). This was shortly after entering and heading towards Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the New York section of the park. My wife's main criticism of Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure is that it's not as polished as Walt Disney World Resort, which she visited three times in 2024-2025. That goes for the quality of the rides, level of customer service, and the attention to detail in pretty much all aspects of the theme park experience. So, if you're visiting Universal after Disney, brace for a step down. That said, I still had a blast at Universal Studios Florida and wouldn't mind returning in the future.

Yelp
We had an amazing time and apparently, going off-peak season is WELL WORTH IT because we hardly waited at all! Straight to the fun. Absolute game changer. We went with just adults which also made everything so easy and laid back. I can die happy after visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Just let your inner child out and imagine that it's all real life and get lost in it. Random pop-up street performances like Stomp were so fun! Kept us lively between areas. I do miss a few things from when I was a kid, but hey, I'll recover. Definitely check out Simpson's World... Lots of great opportunities there for cute photos. Sit and relax in Moe's Tavern, grab a beer and lean into it. Also, pick up the ringing phone for a park hack - Bart is on the other side making jokes. And you HAVE to get a giant pink donut outside. Another favorite was Seuss Landing--just too charming and silly. All-in-all an amazing time and a must-visit no matter your age.

Yelp
Attended an event at Universal Studios and had an absolutely thrilling night! The energy, attractions, and overall experience made it a night to remember. Everything was well-organized, and the park had plenty of exciting entertainment to keep the night going bring great walking shoes--especially if you're tackling both parks in one trip. There's so much to see and do, and you'll definitely get your steps in. Looking forward to the next visit!

Yelp
It's been such a long time since I've been to Universal. It's one of my favorite places to visit. Lots of great food and rides!! Some areas need some updating, but overall a fun place to be.

Yelp
Very fun park!! Loved Harry Potter studios of course, but make sure you know this is not Disney world! They are so different! The rides here are very fun and can be more intense. I found that wait times were less here and it's very easy to navigate and park. The food here was good and the butter beer is a must. I personally would not bring a child to Disney or universal because it's a lot of waiting time and very chaotic. You do get to meet characters which is fun but it can be hot in Florida and I wouldn't want anyone sweating all day and crying. It also is expensive! Just for context, one cup that is not refillable is about $6, and butterbeer is about $10. Food ranges from $10-$30. Budget accordingly, you can bring food into the park which is very nice though !! Wear tennis shoes and be ready to be immersed in the world.

Yelp
Universal Studios is a fun park. The coasters and shows are always fun. It's fun to see the movies you watch as a ride. I try y go and even just walk around, watch a show, or even sometimes I'll just have dinner. The food is always good, and while of course the prices are higher, it is a theme park, the portion and quality isn't that bad for it. I will keep coming back here again and again.

Yelp
This was my first time and what an amazing experience! I met some of my favorite characters, had some tasty food & got to ride on some thrilling rides! The wait times weren't terrible and plenty to see, I'm ready to go back. You need at least two days here to make sure you experience everything here!

Yelp
We were shocked at it taking 2 hours (no exaggeration) to get through security today. The lack of security and having parked in Jurassic parking only to have walked through the entire parking garage them go through another parking garage where zero security was directing people and watching people forehand those who already spent an hour Inline was astounding. Arguments ensued but no one took the high road and auto corrected. It was really terrible. Under staffed is an understatement. We wished we hadn't come ar all. This combined with that silly Mardi Gras gift card that you cannot use at multi walk up services because if they are using mobile app it is t usable (nice job universal). Talk about a rip off. Spoke to guest services where I was informed it is meant to use at the Mardi Gras stands... really? Then why is there no expiration date on them? Why can you use them in city walk? Once again counter productive. So here we are with a gift card for food only with a balance of $100 since we could not use it at dagwoods or broomsticks. Also can't use it at resorts.

Yelp
One cool thing to do here is visiting the Diagon Alley area (shopping street/Harry Potter area) and riding the train that takes you to Islands of Adventure. With a Park-to-Park admission ticket you can board the Hogwarts Express in Universal Studios Florida and travel to Universal's Islands of Adventure, or the other way around! Please keep in mind this is only possible with a Park to Park ticket, which means you can hop back and forth from park to park within the same day. Favorite rides are the Gringotts and the Mummy ride. I'm not a fan of the simulator rides and there's several of these in this park. We do enjoy some interaction 'rides' like the Minnions. The kids liked the Dreamworks side with a Shrek area (first time seeing it Nov 2024) and a Kung Fu Panda area that had a playground/adventure park. We visited 4 times this year , as we had the annual passed. I recommend you visit at least one time!

Yelp
Universal Studios Florida is the first theme park at Universal Orlando. It is used to be known as "Ride the movies" and I feel it still holds true. Their rides here are all based on a movie and most of them are very fun. Not as thrilling as Islands of Adventure, but fun, nonetheless. I really like this park as I used to work here, and it is the original Universal Park. Like most parks, there are different lands. When you first enter, you can head to the left toward Minions or to the right towards Hollywood and the Boorne Stunt spectacular. They also have New York area, San Fransico, World Expo, Springfield, the newest area Dreamworks Land and the most popular, Harry Potter. Each area has different attractions, food locations, some of them have bars, shops, and more. They are all themed to that area as well. My favorite area is Harry Potter. I love the food and beers; we always stop there for a drink. The theming is fantastic, you truly do not realize you are in Orlando, Florida. This area also has only one ride, but there are shows and interactive experiences inside. This is usually the most popular area and will usually be very crowded. As I mentioned, their rides are very much themed after movies: ET, Fast and Furious, Men in Black, Transformers, Minions, and Simpsons, plus many more. Some of these rides such as ET are very classic, original rides even. There are newer attractions such as Fast and Furious and newly upgraded Mummy. A lot of the rides are also 3-D or sensory type rides. There are warnings before every ride, so if you do have any medical conditions, make sure to check them out. You can also speak to a team member and ask any questions you may have. I prefer this side because they have some really amazing shows including the Horror Makeup Show and Borne Stunt Spectacular. I could talk for hours about Universal. When they do extra events such as Macy's Parade, Mardi Gras and Halloween Horror Nights, it always takes place here. We find ourselves here more than Islands of Adventure. They also have my favorite bar at Universal, Finnegans. I definitely recommend, if you have the opportunity, to check it out. There are 2 table service, sit down, restaurants located inside with the rest being quick service. I truly love having our annual passes. Add this park to you list! Aces!

Yelp
We were ambitious and wanted to check out both parks, Universal Studios & Island of Adventure, in one day. With that in mind, we opted to try out Universal's line skipping product called the Express Pass. The Express Pass allows guests to skip most of the line at all participating rides. There are two tiers - regular and unlimited - which is pretty self explanatory: regular allows one skip at each participating ride once while unlimited allows for unlimited skips. There were definitely some pros & cons: - The price is not included with your entry ticket, which means you'd have to spend an additional $100+ per guest - The cost of the pass also is based on demand, and depends on the park and the day - Express Pass also does NOT include Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which means you'd have to wait in the standby line that can take anywhere from an hour to two hours. The ride broke down a few times during our time there, so it can really cut into your day (note that Island of Adventure closes at 6PM). - However, Express Pass was useful for us in the sense that since we were attempting two parks in one day, we wouldn't have gotten on as many rides without it I did want to note our frustration when Hagrid's ride broke down for the umpteenth time. At that point, we were already waiting over an hour, and we were informed that we could either wait indefinitely for the ride to be fixed or voluntarily choose to exit the line. It was a bit disappointing that unlike Disney, they don't have a "return anytime" policy for situations where the ride breaks down for an indefinite period. We had to eventually cut our losses and left the line in order to take advantage of the pricey Express Pass we had purchased. At the end of the day, I think it's better to give to one park per day if possible, just so you're not in a time crunch to get on the rides that you want.

Yelp
Universal Studios Orlando is a beautiful park, but it isn't perfect. Unfortunately, you do not need an entire day to visit the park, ride all the rides, and see all the shows. The standout area of the park is Diagon Alley. This land is unmatched by any other part of the park. Even if you're not a Harry Potter fan, this area transports you to a world of magical wonder. Be sure to ride Escape from Gringotts unless prone to motion sickness. If you need to store your items in a locker, send only one person from your party while the others wait outside. This is also the only place to grab a Butterbeer ice cream. I've noticed that over the past year, Universal Studios has been focusing on updating its food kiosks to offer more creative and delicious items. It's not your typical hot dog and pizza; you can find Brazilian bread and Chinese egg rolls. But don't worry, they still have pizza and hot dogs available. The best rides at this park include: - Escape from Gringotts (motion sickness/coaster) - The Mummy (indoor roller coaster) - Transformers (prone to motion sickness) - E.T. (the only functioning ride open all day) - VillainCon (shooting game) The park's newest addition is DreamWorks Land, which is great for children under the age of 8. However, don't expect to spend an entire day in this area. Be sure to try the swamp dog at the Swamp Shack. I recommend the Jason Bourne Stunt Show if you plan to watch a show. It's indoors and has air conditioning, making it a perfect break from the sun. I compare this park to Animal Kingdom; it has three major E-ticket attractions, and once you experience those, there isn't much else left to do. One of the most significant issues is the park right next to it is 5X better. If this park receives another expansion similar to Diagon Alley (POKÉMON), I think the park can become something amazing. But it sometimes feels like the ugly duckling.

Yelp
It's cool and all but at danger of sounding like a weird Disney adult Universal ain't no Disney Sure, the velociraptor ride and the Hagrid ride are better than anything Disney has Universal just doesn't have that magic. The vibe is just not it. I got annual passes to Universal so we will be coming here again but I honestly feel like we already did all there is to do and we only spent a long weekend here It's fun but not magical

Yelp
I haven't been to Universal in a couple of years and decided to come back for Mardi Gras. I also wanted to see the Wicked store! I would say it was good crowd control for being the first day of Universal's Mardi Gras. The lines weren't too long, the staff was very friendly, and the food was VERY delicious! If you're going to Mardi Gras i recommend the pinchos ( it will be a long wait but it's worth it) and the gumbo! The butter chicken was good too but just was cold.

Yelp
I remember coming to this park when I was little, then as a teen, and now as an adult. Each experience was completely different! The park is very clean. Each staff I had interactions with were very friendly and helpful, and appeared happy to be there. Bathrooms were also very clean. I feel there's something for everyone! Coasters, shops, food, shows. Etc. so much to do and see for all ages. Definitely a great park to spend the day.

Yelp
Parking was $32. Admission was $139 per person. Lines were much shorter than Disney World. The place was much less crowded than Disney World. Some of the rides have free, small lockers to store your bags. Recommend downloading the app to view the wait times. Definitely enjoyed Universal Studios Florida more than Disney World. E.T. Adventure was a must ride. Was able to go to all the rides in one day. We were greeted by almost all the workers. Overall, a much better experience than Disney World.

Yelp
All the rides were the same, but had a different theme. It seemed very repetitive. If I knew ahead of time I would have gone to Islands of Adventure instead, or even Disney. I dont think we would ever go back here.

Yelp
The highlights of this trip were Harry Potter rides and the Velicoaster ride in Jurassic park. I found the wait times in the office season are still crazy, but if you do both parks in two days you should have time for everything. I would read articles before hand to make sure you can maximize your time here and see all the little hidden gems these parks include. The food isn't terribly expensive but you will have to wait in long lines every time to order. Be prepared with a small bag to hold things like water bottles, sunscreen, snacks and a jacket. they have free small lockers to put your stuff in while you ride a ride.

Yelp
Would I recommend it ? 1000% honestly best place to have an amazing time with friends or family , the rides , the experience it's a different level of fun. Honestly every area makes you feel like you're actually in a movie , if you're thinking about going I would advise you to go at least once and check it out .

Yelp
I'm probably not supposed to say this but I enjoyed the Universal parks more than I enjoyed Disney. I'm a 47-year-old disabled, childless woman who had given up on the possibility of ever going to Orlando and any of the theme parks located there. I may be well traveled, but those parks always seemed out of reach for me, financially, and I don't enjoy amusement park rides. The teacups make me sick and most rides are just a hassle for me to get on. I was absolutely thrilled when Jeremy's dad invited us on a 10 day florida adventure and offered to pay for all the park tickets. Threaten me with a good time! Please! I didn't get on any of the rides but I still had a spectacular time "backfilling our childhood" as Jeremy's stepmother called it. Jeremy was adopted and spent his childhood semi-poor, in a broken home, and missed out on a lot of those quintessential childhood experiences. My family never went to Florida until my sister moved there for about 8 months when she thought she could run from her problems. Needless to say, no one was in the mood to go to an amusement park then. Yes, the Harry Potter stuff is incredible, but don't slouch on Springfield. That big ass donut is more delicious than expected. It's incredibly soft and the strawberry icing is perfection. You need that in your life!

Yelp
Great park for adults and kids! Fun for the entire family! Roller Coasters like the Mummy, Men in Black ride, The Simpsons, E.T., kids park, Harry Potter, Transformers, cool parades and so much more!

Yelp
We had a park to park ticket but would recommend one day at each park if you don't want to pay $140.00 per person for the express passes. You will stand in lines! We had a lot of fun as a family of 7 with several who don't enjoy large rides. The transformers ride and simspons ride made me sick My kids got the large donuts from lard lad and loved them. The reusable souvenir cups are handy to have to refill all day at the parks and at the city walk. One thing that is frustrating is if you're renting a locker, get your stuff out before 7 or they move everything to lost and found AT 7. We rented two lockers and one had just our reusable cups and they either threw them away or gave them to someone else. They had 2 cups at the lost and found and we were told "take them and wash them" as if I'm carrying soap around or am going to go to the hotel, wash, come back and pay to park again. Alex at guest services city walk was helpful in getting us new cups.

Yelp
So much fun! Put on your walking shoes and be ready to enjoy the day. There is so much here. Plenty of shops, food options, attractions and rides. Staff is friendly and I can tell most of them enjoy their job. We were here only for a day and could not visit the entire park. We did a lot!

Yelp
This was my first visit to this park, and I had an amazing time! I opted for the front-of-the-line pass since I'm from California and won't be returning to Florida anytime soon. The park had plenty of rides, though I did miss the variety of shows that are offered at the park in California. The park itself was well-maintained, and I can't wait to return one day!

Yelp
There is simply nothing not to like about this beautiful theme park. We have come a few times and have enjoyed each visit tremendously. From the ease of checking in and the fast pass option that we usually purchase, we love all of the different adventures that await us. If Harry Potter is your thing This park and it's sister are definitely places that you want to go. The personnel is always friendly and the wait times for the rides are really not too bad unless you're waiting for one or two special roller coasters. There are plenty of restaurant options and they serve a turkey leg on a bone which my wife really loves. As our daughter gets older, she is able to enjoy more of the roller coasters as she grows in size. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some of the best roller coasters I have ever ridden.

Yelp
I'm an annual passholder so the fact that I love it here is no secret. If you are looking for a Disney experience, I would say don't go because Universal so going to be different, I think it caters more to adults. It is its own entity and that is okay. Enjoy the character meet ups, go to HHN's, enjoy the onsite hotels that will let you pool hop, and hit up an Orlando Informer event!!

Yelp
I always love visiting Universal and this year we visited during Halloween Horror Night. It was a great experience and I love the attention to detail with the Halloween theme. There's 10 haunted houses but we only got to 4 houses since the lines were so long. I highly recommend getting an express pass if you want a full experience. I do wish they spaced out the groups for the haunted house. Otherwise I truly enjoyed it!

Yelp
My absolute favorite park in the whole wide world. I remember going when I was a wee one. I remember getting to inside a couple friends to come along for one of my birthdays. We wore matching Animal Actors t-shirts. The park has evolved so much and has become the most magical place on earth for ME! Totally obsessed with the Wizarding World and all the feels it gives me walking in it. LOVE the holiday events. Currently LOVING HHN and will be so sad when it's over. Getting a pass is the best way to enjoy the parks. There is a bit of walk from the garage to entrance but having gone so many times, it's pretty much a breeze now.

Yelp
Universal has done such a wonderful job developing their parks that it is a shame that the attractions have deteriorated to the point that everything is breaking down. We have vacationed at Universal annually for the past 20 years and this year our experience has been terrible. Rides and attractions have broken down repeatedly in the 5 days we've been here and no one seems the slightest bit interested in "making it right." Additionally, the Hard Rock Hotel (our go to hotel at Universal) is literally falling apart. Front desk staff is untrained, unskilled and uncaring and management is no better. Rooms are in poor condition and I'll-maintained. We might just have to go back to Disney (shudder)!

Yelp
This place is cool but more expensive for the little things as well. From 1 day fast passes for over $200 person. From wheel chairs and different merch. We got help from this awesome gentle telling us where I could take my kid in a wheel chair to cool off in 93 degree and no shade. This park is great for older folks and teens for sure. But make sure you have water, sunblock on, comfy shoes and patience for the lines. Sometimes they aren't updated in time, so the wait times can be longer than posted. My son's favorite park. The food line in Simpson's restruant was long, unorganized and your food was cold about the time you made it to a seat. Straight chaos!

Yelp
I will be back for sure! This place was fun we just didn't have enough time . I also liked how this place was not as crowded as Island of adventures.

Yelp
If I could give them a zero minus, I would. We have booked thru, and stayed at Universals own resorts many times and been pleased. This time I booked through Universal as always, however I thought we could try out a partner hotel that they advertise. We chose a package with four day park to park tickets, and four nights at Coco key Waterpark and r Resort. As soon as we opened the door to our room, the smell of mildew or mold hit us. It was bad, and we have daughter with asthma. We couldn't stay there. Immediately spoke with the front desk at Coco key, and they agreed to give us a full refund. They immediately refunded our daily resort fees that they had collected thirty minutes prior, and advised that the money we paid for the hotel stay would be refunded by Universal. Checked in and back out within 30 minutes. We sooner 28 minutes and 40 minutes on the phone with Universal on that day. Universal advised us to reach back out to them if we hadn't seen the refund by the 17th (four days), we gave it until the 22nd. Then called Universal because they still have not refunded the 600$ for the hotel. Spent another hour on the phone on this call. Sadly they are playing games, telling me that they have to check with coco key. Well coco key told us that Universal owe's it to us, as universal made the reservation and didn't end up paying Coco Key because we didn't stay. We were against a wall on check-in day, so we allowed Universal to make us a new reservation at their new resort, Stella nova. This resort was $1,651 for four nights. We were required to pay it in full, and wait for the $600 refund for the original reservation. Long story short we are out our 600$ plus we paid an additional 1,600$ to stay at one of there nicer hotels (it was the only hotel they had an open room in). Big corporation like this and won't refund 600$ when we upgraded to a different hotel due to medical reasons, that's crap service, and GREED at its finest. They got me this time, but I promise they will never get that opportunity to do that again. We have been several times throughout the years and never had an issue times must be tough for them.

Yelp
"The Long & Short": If you have disposable income and are financially comfortable, this is a fine and highly worthwhile use of one's time. If either of those conditions are not satisfied, I would strongly suggest careful consideration prior to coming here; veering toward recommending against a visit. -- Personally, I enjoyed this place but am trying to be critical and unbiased. The wait times were short when I visited, as were the rides crowded but not overly so; and the amount of attractions you can see if you have a good 3 to 4 hours and are quick on your feet is well worth it, both in terms of value as well as fun and experience. Despite not being a fan of any particular media, I found almost every franchise and attraction entertaining. Likewise, the wide range and types of attractions across franchises is noteworthy. Just hope it doesn't rain when you go!

Yelp
Amazing family vacation for 7! As an adult, I enjoyed it as I would as I child! It was my first time going and I was taken aback by EVERYTHING! Although the trip was in July in the sweltering heat I had so much fun and I plan on going again!!

Yelp
We had a great time at Universal Studios Florida. We had season passes and flew back down just to return. We loved the minion ride as soon as you walk in. We also enjoyed the despicable me ride. We enjoyed seeing and meeting all the characters such as Homer and Bart Simpson. Love seeing Scooby and the gang. Liked seeing shows such as the Horror and Makeup show. Always love being in the World of Harry Potter. We enjoyed riding the train at 9 3/4 station. We liked the parade that was new for us this time. The streets of NY were great with much to see in that area. So much to see and do and always a great time!

Yelp
We became pass holders! This park is fantastic! It is clean. The staff is great. There is so much to do! The parking is organized. Mardi Gras was an awesome event to attend.

Yelp
We had a great visit, despite the fact that it rained (hard) all day. Many of the lines are under cover - and we definitely appreciated that. It's expensive but that wasn't a shock and very likely "average" for these types of places. I bought three one park, one day, passes to be able to join my daughter and her family (who are there for an entire week). It was $159 per person, plus tax ($508) plus another $30 to park, $100 for taco truck for lunch, $9 for a butter beer, $14 for an alcoholic beer, and $15 per person for rain ponchos - bring your own from home if there is ANY chance it will rain. The lines/wait times weren't bad - likely in part because of the weather. I do not think the website does a good job of explaining that many of the rides - especially the coasters - are actually at Islands of Adventure. The kids were really sad that, while we went to Harry Potter World, we could not board the train because it goes to "another" park. There is an option for two parks on one day. I would have bought that had the site been clear about what exactly is and is not included.

Yelp
Love these parks! Maybe even a little more than Disney! I've been coming here since I was a kid, worked here as a teenager, and now visit as a customer. I just came for HHN and I'm always impressed by the food and the houses.

Yelp
Universal is always a magical place for adults and children. Decorations and facades are amazing. Always clean and so many options to see, dine, and just have fun. The park at night with the lights are amazing. Everyone should experience this place at least once. Put this on your list!

Yelp
Always a great time at the parks. Checkin was smooth and quick. We went on a weekday so the park wasn't that busy. The park was clean and plenty of personnel around to help answer questions if needed.

Yelp
Every time i come it's always the best day ever!!! This park day was perfect because it poured before i got into the park so a lot of people ended up leaving. That was the only time i literally walked in a ride and was on it. It was absolutely awesome! I got to do all the rides I'd like in the park, and was able to truly enjoy it without the long lines of people and the back and forth making me dizzy lol. A time was had at islands of adventure park. I plan to return again when super Mario world opens next year. I'm super excited and can't wait for that!

Yelp
We stayed two days and one night. We stayed at hard rock hotel just so we can get the fast pass! Going to a park like this - fast pass is the way to go! The timing And stay is just enough we didn't need more than that! Just the whole weekend! I'm glad that my son did not waste any time not to use the pass, we ride on the hulk, and other extreme ride even though his friends didn't want to! So proud of him! Voodoo doughnut was the best! We will do it again!

Yelp
Came to the park with my family on a 3 consecutive weekdays in mid September. It was extremely hot, in the 90s. But we had a great time. The park had a lot to offer and they were very disability friendly. There were some technical problems with a few of the rides but staff worked quickly to resolve them.
