THE WONDER BAR STEAKHOUSE

We stopped here, unexpectedly, on our trip down south. It was the perfect find, and just what we needed. It was my partner’s birthday, and our planned events did not come through due to a family emergency. We were tired and sick of fast food. We were afraid we would be underdressed in jeans, but that definitely worked on this slower weeknight. All of our servers were amazing! Our head waiter, Medo was so professional and knowledgeable of the menu and restaurant. He kept everything flowing at our pace. The dinner was absolutely delicious from beginning to end. The bruschetta was super fresh and generous for sharing. The steaks were perfect and scrumptious. Funny enough, we still can’t get over how much I loved the baked potato. Lol! If you are in the area….definitely make this a stop. You will not regret it. Tell Medo & friends we said hi! 😊

Heard a lot about this place so drove down from Cheat Lake to try it out. Had the 18oz. ribeye and it was cooked to perfection with the cowboy butter. They were very accommodating with a kids meal for our young daughter. They have a nice wine list by the glass and we loved the classic steakhouse decor. We had excellent service from Charissa. Chef Liza made our dinner worth the trip and even came out to our table and others to check on us.

This is a classic upscale Italian steakhouse. The service is excellent. They bring warm garlic bread to the table with your drinks. They have a very good wine selection. The lamb chops are excellent. The fillet tips served over pasta with red sauce were also excellent. There is a beautiful views from the outdoor patio.

We went for delayed Valentines Day. Haven't been here for many years. The decor was much improved since our last visit. We had a reservation but was still placed in the bar area. We were seated promptly. Our server was fine,not overly friendly.We ordered salads,petite filet,Pasta seafood,scallopped potatoes. It took over an hour to receive our food, understandable if we had ordered appetizers as we did not.The food was plated very nicely.The steak was fine,but I have had better at less expensive pricing. The scallop potatoes were really disappointing! The Seafood pasta did not have a lot of flavor.Overall the atmosphere was nice,but the food was less than expected and while the seats may look nice they were very uncomfortable after sitting a few hours. But this restaurant was really busy,a packed lot when we walked out about 7.They offer a very wide selection of wines and other numerous alcohol beverages. I would say its a nice date night type of place as there is no rushing anyone out the door. It just did not have the wow factor for us food wise.

We have eaten here twice. The food has been good, as was ambience. I love the wedge salad. I had the sea bass as my entrée on my last visit. It was very good, but rather expensive given that it cost $48 for, at best, a 3 oz portion of fish. I considered asking our server if this was standard but decided not to mess with the vibe of the occasion. Our server was overcommitted in another room, but friendly and helpful when she had time.. We will probably return.

An awesome steak house with an Italian heritage. The service is fantastic, we came here for our anniversary and we were treated very well, and we noticed they did so for all their patrons. The staff was attentive and knew the menu. The bar tenders are knowledgeable and wonderful artists at the libations. The atmosphere is rich with a chill feel. We had a little bit of a wait for our table due to bad weather, but the host and staff were caring. The food is scratch made and reflects the local culture. The Tips and Blue was a highlight for us. My only two criticisms the Crab fries are bland and take away from way yummier dishes. Second the steaks are over salted, the grill master cooks the steaks perfectly and they melt like butter, but are saltier then a frozen steak.

The food was mediocre for the price. Cost was around $600 for 8 people. I ordered the 12oz ribeye and have to say this is the thinnest and smallest “12oz” ribeye I’ve ever seen. I would have been embarrassed to serve this to someone at my home. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor also and pretty much everyone said their meal was “ok” but for $600 I expect more than ok.

First off, I am a repeat customer. My first visit was over 30 years ago. This place used to be special. Visited on Feb 20, 2026. Table of 4, 2 couples. We had reservations, had to wait 10 minutes past the time. Not too awful bad on that. Waiter was extremely slow. We had empty glasses for more time than is acceptable. Ordered the daily fish, grouper. Slimy to say the least. The gnocchi’s were bathed in a very spicy red sauce. Way over the top with spicy. Our seating to exit time was 2 hours. No appetizer or dessert. Bill was $182 for the 2 of us. Yes the atmosphere is kinda nice but too many tables. I could hear the neighboring table way too clear. If you haven’t noticed, I had a bad experience will not be returning. There are nicer options with better food available. So Wonderbar, I’m beginning to wonder what happened.

4/30 group dinner. Service was excellent. I enjoyed a filet with sautéed mushrooms, which was amazing. Everyone in our was extremely impressed with the service and dinner choices.

Went for Valentine's Day dinner. While we understood they would be busy, 1.5 hours for both steaks to be burnt and raw (frozen and not thawed properly or in time) and the mashed potatoes were very dry. The service was awful. The waiter complained about how busy they had been and were forced to come in early and that was without us asking. They clearly were not prepared for the amount of business they received but for a 9pm reservation, the place was clearing out by time our food arrived. Other tables around us were complaining as well. While we did appreciate the 20% off, 20% off food that was not edible isn't good enough. I really don't get the hype, I've had great food and eaten at fine dining restaurants and this place fits neither category. Very overpriced for food we could have gotten better from Applebees.

My wife and I went here for the first time and these people go above and beyond to make sure your needs are taken care of. The views are best in town as well. Super clean, quiet and comfortable. Wouldn't recommend any other steak house in town now!

I'm very disappointed in our visit to the Wonderbar. We have celebrated many occasions here. We brought a group of friends and from the moment we walked in, it was clear that outsiders weren't welcome. We were greeted by a hostess who was extremely short and rude, not to mention she was ADORNED in political messages as jewelry and bracelets. We waited 35 minutes for our first drinks to be delivered. Every drink beyond that that we ordered was a terrible inconvenience, made obvious by the facial expressions and scoffs we were given. After an hour and a half, Ari came in as our saving grace. She was extremely attentive and cared about our experience. We left to other locations shortly after. I always send people here. Not anymore.

Took my in-laws who came to visit. My MIL is a 100% Italian, from East Boston that is an amazing cook and is hard to impress. She is very particular and I always worry when we go out. Not just the food but if there is a spot on her fork she will ask for a new one. My father in law lives to eat steak - enough said. The wine list is extensive and pleased my father in law, as well as his veal dinner and never mind the giant baked potatoes we all had. My husband had ordered the calamari, and everyone said it was the Best they have ever had!! And these are world travelers... everyone's steaks and fillets were melt in your mouth. The only complaint I have was my disappointment of no fresh fruit at the bar to make the drink I requested. Our waitress suggested something else which was fine, but then they couldn't make that either so they sent the bartender to tell me that she has no fruit except for lemon and lime. She seemed annoyed with me. The ambiance was wonderful and was noticed by MIL. She enjoyed the photos on the walls. Enjoyable evening ended with chocolate mousse and red velvet cake.

This place is a bit tucked away- if I hadn't been invited by my family I probably never would have stumbled across this. This is definitely a hidden gem! Started with the pate and crab dip. I legit could have eaten the whole crab dip as my entree. I had a Caesar salad to start. And then the chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo was good but definitely next time would get a steak. I tried some bites from my family's plates and that's def the way to go! Our server was super friendly and kind. This is a nicer place and would recommend a reservation.

Absolutely a great spot. My wife and I stop here for a fantastic food, great service and "wonderbar" ambiance each spring and fall when we travel to and from our Canadian home for winter camp in Florida. This year marks our 15th year of two visits. Wouldn't do it if we didn't love everything about the place. J & J!

Went for Valentines and it was the shit. Highly recommend. The drinks were cold and the steak was perfect. Wait staff was goated with the sauce.

My wife and I were traveling through the area on business and spotted this place. So glad we did. The service was excellent. The ambience was great and the food was amazing. Our waiter Tim was great. The seafood was great. The fresh bread was delicious. Don't pass this place by!

My husband & I have been to Wonder Bar Steakhouse 4x (and will continue to patron). The first time, we came in without reservation & enjoyed a seat at the bar; the 2nd time we celebrated my end of military service with another seat at the bar-- food & drinks & service from the bartenders were fantastic! Lobster bisque, crab cakes (appetizers), cooked to order filet mignon & ribeye (perfectly medium rare); Our 3rd & 4th visits were reservations for our wedding anniversary & then to treat my father to a birthday dinner. We were fortunate to have Will as our server, he was great! The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very nice. 10/10 would highly recommend!

Service was great Wife and I's steak was too salty. Otherwise perfect Carrot and chocolate cakes were fantastic

First time to the Wonder Bar and it was Wonderful Ful. Overlooking the beautiful valley, the setting is perfect for business dinners, romantic dates or celebrations. The wine and cocktail offerings are plentiful, including a nice selection of mocktails. The menu is great. Steaks are highly recommended and mine came out perfectly cooked. Nice selection of seafood as well and you can create your own surf n turf entree. The sides were also a highlight. Enough to share, so order a few for your table and enjoy them all. The service was off the charts friendly. I felt like I was eating at a friend's house. Our entire party left with a full stomach and wonderful memories.

Food is always fresh, services has never been better and the rat pack ambiance is outstanding. Excellent choices in drinks. Bar tenders are top notch!

For a "fine" dining experience it was very underwhelming. There were some bright spots but overall I was not impressed. First impression is a lady in blue jeans at the hostesses station which is odd since they call for business casual as their dress code. The waitress was ok but nothing more. We got the filet and Alfredo. It was terrible. I have had better steak by far at chain restaurants. The Alfredo tasted like butter noodles you give a child. Only food that was worth even close to what they charge was the wedge salad. Other than that I was highly disappointed in the expensive experience of mediocre food at best. The tips and blue were also very bland and essentially just blue cheese dressing over some fat chewy shitty steak. Save your money and go somewhere else.

One of our favorite restaurants from our past. We now have to journey several hours to enjoy the best. Been coming here for date night since being newlyweds 49 years ago. They never disappoint. Service is adequate but if you're lucky enough to get one of the veteran waitresses/waiters, it's generally an excellent experience!

I love this place! We come here every time we are in town. The food is always amazing. I like to try something different every time and have not been let down. The bacon Brussel sprouts are a staple on every visit. The service is always top notch too!

Where shall I start. Oh let's start with the absolute basics of a restaurant. You shouldn't wait for 45 minutes for a refill. Your waitress should check on you at least once in between getting your food and oh waiting for an hour and 45 minutes to get it.... My spouse and I got stuck down in the dungeon where it was conveniently quiet; but unfortunately not welcoming. After I waited an eternity to get my food. I received it and it was cold like they had just gotten it out of the refrigerator. I'm extremely disappointed in the hospitality of the waitress. I understand that it takes time to get your food but to wait 45 minutes to get your refill is just a bit ridiculous to me. We were informed of the "we are super busy" line. So we just waited instead of exiting the building (deep dark dungeon in the basement). At least she told us that it was going to be a while without saying that directly. I'm truly sorry for anyone who decides to eat here that is not a regular. I also feel bad for anyone who had to go through the agony and pure frigid temperatures of the dungeon. Took my wife there for her birthday. The food was great the waitress Felicia was awesome. Will definitely go back.

The best restaurant! It is my husband and I's favorite place to go for a special occasion or date night!

My first time visiting and definitely won't be my last. This may be the best restaurant in the state- great food, service and vibe. Go for a drink at the bar with a professional bartender and stay for dinner.

We arrived a little early, but were able to get our table on time. The service we received from our server Ariana was the best ever. She was so polite, described and answered all of our questions professionally. The food was totally amazing . We had enough to have a take home, at least I did, my husband ate all and part of mine, but I still had some veggies and scalloped potatoes to bring with me. I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere was so relaxing and laid back.

The service and ambiance were great! The food was lacking. Definitely not the hype you read on here. Two of us had filet and one had pasta Alfredo. Steaks were cooked correctly, but lacked seasoning and were not like butter as mentioned in other reviews.

Absolutely mouth watering food! Arianna was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and fun! We were there for Valentine's Day and the atmosphere was so romantic! It was a very special night for us and we were so pleased with everything! We look forward to our next visit!

Best steaks around, worth the drive from Parkersburg. We recommend the wonder bar steakhouse to friends and family all the time.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! The staff was so lovely. Wine was delivered in perfect timing w the meal. Perfect timing on bringing out each course. Food was prepared perfectly. Prices reasonable. Loved the whole experience. Very rare for an establishment to get everything perfect. Perfect end to a trip, thank you.

We come here every year for our wedding anniversary. Highly recommend. The staff is so friendly. Thank you again for year number 7 Wonder Bar!!!

Had an excellent meal on Monday Sept. 23rd! Emma was our waitress and she did an excellent job for us. If you have not eaten at this establishment, you are missing a great dining experience!!

I was in town for work and found this restaurant on Yelp. My local colleagues agreed that this would be a great spot for dinner. We are so glad we dined at The Wonder Bar Steakhouse! We were seated at our table just as the sun was setting and there was a beautiful show of pink hues in the sky. The dining area we were seated in is encased by windows which gave us a view of the night sky. We made a mental note to stop in before sunset to enjoy the view next time. Coming from Chicago, we thought the menu prices were very reasonable for a steak house! I had the Cobb salad to start and it was fresh and crisp. The dressing was delicious and creamy. We also tried the cheese rolls --- mind you, they are not in the shape of rolls, rather roll-ups. They tasted better than I thought they would! Definitely try these! Calamari was good, tender, not chewy at all. I had the petit filet and it was cooked perfectly and vey tasty. I also had the holiday Moscow Mule - so delicious ! The staff was very attentive and polite!

If you're looking for a local spot that's fantastic and not commercial, this is your spot. This spot is business causal but relaxed at the same time. After a long day or a outing you can't go wrong with wild Berry bourbon smash. You will require more than one. I had to buy a bottle since the blackberry bourbon was local to WV only. One of the best appetizer I have ever had the tips and blu. The sauce with the steak tips, round of applauses. You will not regret the choice. Couldn't leave the area without trying a steak, and I'm glad I did. All the cuts looked amazing but the bone-in rib eye was my choice and I was happy. The results the entire table was satisfied. Dessert LOOKED good, but we didn't have room. Lol

We celebrated our son's graduation from WVU at the Wonder Bar. We had a reservation for 5 at 8pm. Graduation ended earlier than we expected. I called and added a couple of people to the reservation and asked if we could move our reservation to 7:30. They accommodated us with no problem. Arianna was our server, and she was exceptionally attentive, personable, and professional. One of the special offerings was a Land & Sea, your choice of beef and seafood. AMAZING! It's easily the best steak I have eaten. If you are anywhere near Clarksburg, make the drive. It was half an hour from Morgantown, but WORTH every minute of the drive.

We have been going to the Wonder Bar for over 60 years. My wife & I recently enjoyed dinner there, and our steaks were excellent,,,,again. Very tender and perfectly prepared as we requested. The tradition lives on! I will recommend the Wonder Bar to anyone who wants to experience a special dining wonder.

It feels old and swanky in a good way. The down lights had a weird flicker from time to time. I was told this only happens on Saturday. Our waitress didn't know what a martini or and old fashioned was. Took some explaining and she asked if the old fashioned was on the rocks. Had to write down Sazerac and asked us to spell it. Huh? I asked for anchovies on my Caesar and was told they didn't have any. Steaks were great. Definitely the star of the show. I would skip the cowboy butter that was really sold. Brussel sprouts were sad. No caramelization. Wine list is a 10/10. Hat tip to the sommelier. Seriously. Dessert was solid. Place feels a bit aged and the waitress needs some training on drinks and just in general. She was pleasant but it felt more like the type of service I would expect at Longhorn and not a $$$$ restaurant. Prices are high for the area but not compared to Pittsburgh.

Great food and wine. The Cowboy Butter is the bomb. The food quality has been spot on every time I've visited this place.

Foodies BEWARE!! Place feels a bit rundown, and the kitchen staff and floor manager are in need of training. They didn't know the difference between extra rare "blue", rare, medium-rare, medium, medium-well and well-done for steaks to include meat color at those various temperatures and was clueless when it came to customer service. Everyone was pleasant but it felt more like the type of service and food quality I would expect at Outback and not a high-end restaurant. I don't recommend this place and I am not sure how anyone gives it five stars as the night we were there two other tables either canceled their order, paid for the drinks, and left as the wait time was over an hour and another table even told the manager he should be "ashamed" as the food and wait time were unacceptable. Prices are high for the lack of service and quality of food but wouldn't mind if everything was spot on.

I was looking very forward to dining here. I'm blind, I asked the waitress if she had a braille menu. She informed me that there was no need all I needed to do was sniff and Ip I'd say the ambiance was s*** considering I felt like I was talked to like a canine. Service p food was served p I may have not tipped. I sniffed for my money but couldn't seem to find it could decide what I wanted. Disrespectful and rude

We went to dinner to celebrate 3 of my adult children's birthdays and were sadly disappointed that this was their celebration dinner. First of all, our 2 waiters were great!! This is not a reflection on them in the least. After ordering our dinner, we got our salads and all was well. Another 45 minutes or so later, our waiter informed us they were out of baked potatoes and we had to choose another side if that was our selected side. Dinner came about another hour and a half after that. My husband's steak was ice cold. My son's requested a medium rare steak and received a barely cooked steak that was literally cold, blood red in the middle, so he sent it back and it came back well done. Just like shoe leather at this point. My daughter ordered stuffed shrimp which were over cooked and rubbery, inedible. Most of us had ordered scalloped potatoes, which were burnt black on the bottom. You could eat the top portion if you were so inclined. So, after waiting 2 1/2 hours for our food we were very much disappointed. Our waiters apologized profusely throughout the wait and gave us each a complimentary drink. The tables around us received the same type of service that we did. It was not just our table. We were not acknowledged by management at all through this entire meal or while leaving. $650 later we will not be returning to this restaurant, which is supposed to pride itself on their quality of steak, service and atmosphere.

Food tasted delicious but was highly neglected on service. Food took an hour and a half, and it was spaghetti and a steak. I don't regret going but will never come back. ( The owner set things straight with me or the person over the Yelp page, but they took care of me afterwords.)

We are from NJ, and were in Town to see our daughter. Last time we were in town the food in Morgantown was terrible. So I did a little research and found this gem. The steak was out of this world. The ahi tuna the same. We finally had a great dinner n did not leave with a stomach ache. The food is fresh and prepared correctly. We will be back every visit!!! A little expensive but worth it. Expected in a steakhouse. They deserve 5 stars!

This is the best steakhouse in West Virginia! I have not found another place in the state that can compete with these steaks. It actually has better steaks than I have had at high end places in big cities outside WV. Great service and we love the red carpet on the walls!

The food was great, I highly recommended the carrot cake for dessert! The service was spot on, very, very attentive. Enjoyable meal. I suggest not sitting by the kitchen.

Our favorite go-to spot for nice dinners out, family gatherings, and friends in town.

This was a recommended restaurant to us. Everyone can have a bad day. I understand this. Our $30 dozen oysters were not even as big as my SMALL pinky finger. Next , the ceaser salad was dry lacking enough dressing. When our steaks arrived, both filet and certified rib eye, they were overcooked. At $50 a steak , they should not have to ask how is your steak. I have had better at Outback which is the low end of any steak restaurant. Finally our service was the best thing in this restaurant. Apparently they ate living off of a past history . We won't be back after an 230 bill for 2 people. Either people have low expectations or consider spending 230 for want could be made for less then 50.. It was an experience, but not to be had again for us
