This is a mixed bag. Nice rooms, but can be 'buggy' (then again a cockroach is to be expected in these territories). Great breakfast, super expensive and not so great wine. Friendly service, but maybe trying a bit too hard. The swimming pool is there but really small. The interior of the hotel is nice and cozy but outside there's a bit of a mess. Location is practical: very close to the port and a short walk to town. Then again you are outside of the town and could opt for a place closer to/at the beach.

The Wooden House looks charming in photos. The location is pretty good- only a short walk to the pier and Concha several, and a 10 minute walk to town. The AC was nice and cold. Breakfasts were very good.||However, it needs improvements. Our first room was very small. There was barely room to store our bags. We found out that the toilet did not flush. Water was only going down in a trickle. We asked for a new room and we were upgraded to a spacious suite. It was fine until one night when it rained heavily. The roof leaked and our floor got wet in at least 4 spots. Maybe because of the issues we encountered, the manager was not very friendly. ||I later read that there are hotels near or on the beach that are nearly the same price that travelers may want to look into.

Beautiful hotel, clean comfortable rooms and delicious food. But what made this stay one of our favorites was the service. The manager/owner greeted us every time we came back from afternoon tours. They woke up at 5am to ensure breakfast before our departure. The kindness and generosity was above and beyond.

Perfect place for small groups. We were a group of 20 persons/10-12 rooms, and the staff tried their best to please everyone. Great food, lovely staff, cozy ambience, and even laundry service… it was a wonderful haven especially after long excursions.

We stayed here for four days and everything was clean and wonderful. The breakfast each morning was delicious too. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is a small island so you are close to everything. Minutes to the pier and sea lions and about a 10 minute walk to downtown.

This was a very nice hotel set apart from the other hotels so it is quiet at night. Walking distance to the port and to town. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also tasty and of very good qualify. The only thing to be aware of is the mosquitos. We didn't have any problems on the other islands but had numerous bites on this island so make sure to bring repellent. Some of the rooms didn't have screens so mosquitos at night in the rooms were a problem. I recommend this hotel with that caveat.

We had a fantastic experience staying at The Wooden House Lodge during our visit to Isabela Island. Although we only stayed for one night, the hospitality left a lasting impression. The owner was incredibly helpful and caring, ensuring that all our needs were met and going above and beyond to make us feel at home.||The lodge itself is charming, with a cozy atmosphere and all the comforts we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was convenient for exploring the island, and the staff provided excellent recommendations for activities and dining.||We couldn’t be happier with our stay and highly recommend The Wooden House Lodge to anyone visiting Isabela Island. It’s the perfect place for a comfortable and welcoming experience!
