The Woodhouse Lodge

My wife and I along with our baby visited Woodhouse Lodge recently, and absolutely loved our trip. We planned a couple days getaway and unfortunately it was quite cold and rainy for end of May (40s... wow) but that didn't dampen our experience one bit. We were greeted upon arrival to a seamless check-in (our room was even ready hours before our scheduled check-in) and were given plenty of suggestions of things to do and see in the surrounding area. While our trip was rather short, we chose to spend a day walking around Hudson (~30 minute drive) and ended both nights at the Woodhouse Pizza restaurant next door which has a fantastic menu. Everything we ordered was great to say the least. We tried a couple different pizzas that we loved - don't sleep on the sides / small plates either. The hotel also has a very welcoming space with a common fireplace to enjoy, s'mores provided upon check-in, and a kitchen / lounge area for the guests to enjoy (packed with all kinds of games, items to purchase, and just overall good vibe). We spent plenty of time enjoying the outdoors, sitting by the fire which was a perfect touch. The service was also outstanding from the beginning of our stay through the end. Fresh coffee and breakfast to order in the mornings, and always a welcome conversation about anything from the hotel's history, to activities and experiences to get into while visiting. An outstanding wedding venue, I'm sure. But also a cozy, quaint spot to getaway and take in all that Upstate NY has to offer. Thank you so much, Woodhouse! We will be back soon, without a doubt!

My husband and I got married in the area last year and stayed at The Woodhouse Lodge with our closest family and friends. Our experience was nothing short of incredible—from start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend truly special! We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at the lodge, and it was absolutely perfect. The ambiance, setting, and overall experience created such a warm and memorable evening. The property itself is stunning—charming, peaceful, and beautifully designed, making it perfect for our vision of an intimate and cozy wedding weekend. Mallory and Allison were amazing throughout, ensuring every detail of our stay was seamless. They took such great care of us and our guests, making everyone feel welcome and accommodated. From coordinating logistics to the cozy morning fires and fresh coffee that made each day feel so special, their thoughtfulness truly stood out. If you're looking for a beautiful, welcoming space with an incredible team, The Woodhouse Lodge is it. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate such an important weekend! The venue itself is beautiful — a great mix of rustic charm and modern touches. The Lodge is situated in a peaceful setting, making it feel like a private getaway for our big day. Many of our guests commented on how charming and inviting the space was. One thing we kept coming back to was the personalized care from the staff. They were always there when we needed them and took the time to ensure everything went according to plan. It felt like they genuinely cared about making our day special. Our journey with The Woodhouse Lodge started back in July of 2021 when I came to celebrate my 30th birthday with some friends. We had the best time drinking and eating on the lawn in front of our room, the staff was super attentive and made us feel so welcome. A few years later when my spouse proposed to me, I knew getting married at Woodhouse would be a dream and we quickly got in touch with them. As a queer couple, finding a place that celebrated our identities was very important and we always felt so welcome with the whole Woodhouse team. Our wedding at The Woodhouse Lodge was absolutely perfect. Everything went extremely smoothly, I felt like the venue coordinator Mallory really understood our vision and helped to make everything come together seamlessly. Allison and Brendan worked so hard to make sure we all felt at home, and there was always someone there to help us with any questions or issues we had. All my guests have repeatedly told me it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We even came back to celebrate NYE at Woodhouse just a few months later and it felt just like coming home. We had the best time and will definitely be heading back there soon! Highly recommend The Woodhouse Lodge whether it's for your next special event or just a weekend getaway!

Not only is the place absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to stay while in the Catskills, but the hospitality of the staff doesn’t get better than the Woodhouse Lodge staff. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make my family’s first experience of the Catskills amazing!!!

Dreamy place to get married! Had the pleasure of doing the flowers for a spring wedding and let me tell you, that tree witnessing the ceremony is absolutely sacred. The light was so special and the staff a joy to work with! Le Jardin Flower Farm

My family and I had an incredible stay at the Woodhouse Lodge last week. So great that my 10yo said it’s her favorite hotel she has ever stayed at (which means it beats Great Wold Lodge, Caribbean resorts, Disney World, ++) The hotel was super cozy and cute but the hospitality really made it special. We have some food allergies and Allison was super helpful in helping us find great local places to eat especially given that many restaurants in the area are closed early in the week when we were there. Brendan made us an amazing pizza dinner that was gluten free and allergy friendly. The meatballs were incredible and the pizza may have been the best gluten free pizza we have had! Allison, Brendan and Holly made us feel more like we were staying with friends than at a hotel. We were greeted every morning with a thermos full of delicious coffee in the lobby which held a super welcoming farmhouse table and games for kids and adults alike. Breakfast was granola and yogurt, a perfect 7 minute egg with Maldon salt and they even toasted the allergy safe bagels we brought. We met one of the owners Jay who was kind, helpful and recommended a great local hike which we loved. It was our first time in the area and found the lodge to be a great central base for day trips to waterfalls, hikes and visits to local towns like Hudson and Woodstock. We would definitely return and will recommend it to friends looking for a getaway as well as a beautiful destination wedding location. Thanks Woodhiuse! See you again!

Had an incredible long weekend here with my family for Mother’s Day. Woodhouse is quite remote so for someone from the city it really did feel like being in the middle of nowhere (in the best way). Accommodations were beautiful and cozy, great ambiance. My husband, baby and dog stayed in the lodge suite which we highly recommend. Details below - The lodge suite is a very large two bedroom two bathroom suite with floor to ceiling windows, a full kitchen & the most comfortable beds (3!) in the world. This was the perfect amount of space for our family to enjoy a few days here. They even provided a pack and play for us to use for the baby. Woodhouse itself was small but beautifully designed and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious & believe the reviews about the coffee - we came back for seconds. We stayed on an off weekend so part of our stay we were actually the only people there! It felt really special having the full run of the place. A huge shout out to Allison for the great conversation each morning & to Holly for the great service at the restaurant. The small details like the smore kit and the Ursa Major wipes were a nice touch. One thing to note, the restaurant is only open Thursday-Saturday only so plan ahead. We took pizzas to go and ended up reheating them the next day which worked well We had a wonderful stay & can’t wait to come back! Thank you Jay and the team for the hospitality

Home away from home vibes! Rooms are cozy and comfortable. The staff are friendly and efficient. Bonfires and s'mores are a must. The tavern also offers various snacks/appetizers and a delicious selection of homemade pizzas!

This is a great place for an intimate getaway. The service and food was amazing and rooms were cozy and had great designs. We loved the daily bon fires and afternoon snacks. The only downside was that there are not many restaurants/activities in the area to visit, its definitely more of a place to have a cozy stay in. We would love to come back!

Woodhouse lodge restaurant, I ordered a large pizza for takeout service,I went to pick up and realized my bill was $28.00 and I questioned charge,the cashier advised they added 20% service fee,I advised staff this order was a pick up for takeout and I refused the service fee as I was not eating inside the restaurant. Staff understood and removed fee. Also tipping is upon discretion based on wait staff service etc. The pizza was overdone and sauce was a bit tangy, dough had good texture, in today's inflation you expect excellence and tonight this was not excellence. The owners need to add excellence on food rather than trying to nickel and dime clients. Usually tipping is added to 4 and 5 star restaurant and this Woodhouse lodge does not meet those expectations.

Called to order some pizza's and was told I had to Order online. They don't take phone orders. Very inconvenient for pizza. Let's talk about the pizza. Horrible! Semi burnt and 80% sauce. Barely any cheese on any of the pizza's we ordered. I did not ask for a tomato sauce pie! Will not be returning.

Woodhouse is an amazing gem of a property in the Northern Catskills. My fiance and I booked the A-frame suite during our wedding weekend at a nearby venue and hosted a Friday night welcome drinks and Saturday post-wedding after party at Woodhouse. Both events were spectacular and we really appreciated help from Mallory and Holly. Many of our family and friends stayed on-site and we all enjoyed the super comfortable beds, modern furnishings, beautiful property, delicious pizza at the restaurant, and friendly staff (Allison was particularly lovely at the check-in area!). Our after party featured a bonfire with pizza, a cooler full of natural wine and local beer, and s'mores -- it was everything we'd hoped for and more. I wholeheartedly recommend the Woodhouse as a great hotel to stay in for a vacation or to host a big event -- particularly wedding weekend events as we did. (Additionally, my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, and I all got our hair and makeup done in the A-frame suite, which has plenty of space and amazing natural light for a wedding day bridal suite.)

This is a concept that is perfect in ideas, but execution is horrible. Our room had no AC and when I went to tell them, the response was oh yea, someone mentioned that two weeks ago. The price point at over $420 a night provided no housekeeping, an outdated bathroom and a campy vibe that lacked. Amenities included a flyswatter. So if camping plus at $420 is your thing? Then book.
