"The rustic bed-and-breakfast features few frills, but it does have a hot tub in the backyard. Stay snug by the wood stove in the dining room while you fuel up for the slopes with the locally sourced "Vermontinental" breakfast included in the rate." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Stayed two nights recently to ski Jay Peak. Inn was very rustic and cozy but very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. The TV room was convenient and the continental breakfast was more than adequate with a hot egg casserole provided both mornings, in addition to the standard fare. Super convenient to Jay Peak and the town of Jay which has a pretty good restaurant and general store for provisions.

I stayed four nights at Woodshed Lodge in early October. Their description is spot on, it's "old school" and I mean that in the best possible way. The young owners are dedicated to providing a great, low key experience. The room and common areas were spotless. Everything worked. Very accommodating to reasonable requests. I'd definitely stay again. Bill had excellent suggestions for area hiking (my main interest) and his restaurant recommendations were excellent. I'll also mention that it's a quick trip to an easy Canadian border crossing, so bring your passport.

My husband and I just ended our stay at Woodshed, and we absolutely loved it!! It fit everything we needed. Cozy, warm, and inviting. From the moment we walked in, we loved the rustic country feel. The hot tub and fire pit was just what we needed. We can't wait to go back. Haley and Owen were amazing, so friendly and kind.|Vermont was beautiful!! We also loved Stowe, Burlington and surrounding area.

Opon hearing the owner's response I decided to edit this review and explain in detail the event that unfolded. On Tuesday I made a reservation for 1 night at the resort. I received an email shortly after stating it was confirmed. Then sometime after that another email from the resort came through that said it was canceled. THERE WAS NO PHONE CALL. I didn't notice the email because I went to bed to get ready for the 5 hr trip the following day. So fast forward to Thurs I went back into my emails at lunch to get address of resort. I then saw the canceled email. I call the resort and got the manager on duty and asked why I wasn't called to inform me of this. He replied he was sorry and I was understanding of this and did not belittle him in any way. He told me the owner would be calling me to see what he could do to help out. I RECEIVED NO PHONE CALL again. That is until I left the 1 star review at 7pm. This is when the owner finally reached out! After he saw my 1 star review! That's the facts here people. And his response of calling me out as a rude person to try to cover up this review. I ended up staying at jay resort for a little more money but great service and support.

Nice spot just a little down the hill from Jay. The booking site was easy to use. The room and bathroom were very clean, including the shower. The bed was comfortable. Karla, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the hot tub. The grounds include a bunch of chairs and fire areas, but it was too hot for us to be using those. The included continental breakfast had a good number of options. Karla said that they do weddings here, and I can see why. It's very lovely. I’ll have to come back some time.

I’ve stayed here twice now in the summertime. This is a simply magical property. It’s an older building but very comfortable to stay in and so much charm. I have two little boys and they love exploring around the pond & catching frogs. Karla and Bill are amazing caretakers - they continue to make updates all the time. The ‘Vermontinental’ breakfast is a highlight for me with fresh baked goodies and homemade granola. I look forward to returning year after year.

This is a wonderful and quaint lodge near Jay Peak. I highly recommend. Our room had very comfortable beds, a large bathroom, ample blankets, and a nice view. The hot tub was hot and well maintained, perfect after a day out skiing or exploring. The hostess was very kind and had helpful local recommendations for dinner (the Belfry is a must). This is a very rural area, and you should expect a quiet evening. There is a common room with comfortable seating and a television. Good Internet. The dining room has snacks at all hours. And then there is the included hot breakfast - delicious rotating special with local ingredients, and a wide range of continental breakfast options. Very reasonable price. There is no better place to stay if you are going to Jay Peak.

Yelp
Top notch accommodations! Haley and Owen, the resident innkeepers, were friendly, welcoming and informative. The lodge is clean and charming in the classic Vermont fashion. The check in process is simple and streamlined. The hot tub was super clean and hot and easy to use. Last, but certainly not least, the breakfast was delicious with great coffee and locally sourced food. Again, I cannot emphasize enough, my appreciation for Haley and Owen and their obvious work ethic and attention to details. I would not hesitate to recommend this fine establishment to any one and I definitely plan to return!

Yelp
Stayed 3 nights while attending a motorcycle rally being held at Jay Peak but wanted a place I could "escape" to and avoid the hubbub in the morning and evening. The Woodshed is all that and more. This is classic Vermont at its finest. The grounds are impeccably maintained and serene. The building is also impeccably maintained but with historical knickknacks everywhere. You could spend half a day just wandering around looking at old ski, photography, etc. stuff - a virtual museum. You may pay for a room, but you get virtually an entire house and park-like grounds. It says "Continental Breakfast." Ummm, their definition of that term means freshly made bacon, egg and cheese on a muffin or an egg, cheese and potato casserole. I hardly paid any attention to the homemade granola, bagels, etc. but all that stuff i there if you want it.

Yelp
Spent three wonderful days and nights with our friends and kids at the Woodshed Lodge over the holidays. The Innkeeper and Owners were awesome - they were so helpful when it came to planning the trip, arranging private catering, offering suggestions for activities, and more. Breakfast was DELICIOUS and they were happy to help navigate special food restrictions so everyone could enjoy. We all agreed that staying at the lodge made the entire trip that much more special. Beds were very comfortable, hot tub was awesome, there's plenty of cozy areas to chill out, read a book, sit around a fire, or play board games as a big group. We cannot wait to come back and visit again soon!!

Yelp
4.5 stars. We really liked it. Owners were fantastic. Beds were comfortable. Super close to Jay Peak. Reasonably priced. Breakfast absolutely smacked (we got the hot made to order plates). Continental options were good too. I knocked a half star because the room itself was just a place to lay your head. There was no TV or seating. I would.not want to spend a lot of time there. There is a family room with a TV that looked cozy. Would go back without question!

Yelp
The Woodshed Lodge is a cute and cozy bed and breakfast near Jay's Peak Ski Resort. I really enjoyed our stay here! We got here at 3am, but they left the key by the front door and it was not difficult to find our way around. The first floor has a family room with a tv, games, and movies, a kitchen, and dining room. There are seven rooms upstairs . Some rooms have private bathrooms, while some others are shared. We stayed in the Hemlock room, which had four twin sized beds. The beds were soft and really comfortable. Even comfier than hotel beds. There were plenty of blankets. The hospitality was stellar. Chris was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included with your stay. The hours are from 7:30-9:00 am. It isn't the usual continental breakfast with just cereal and bagels. There is made to order eggs, omelette, pancakes, french toasts, etc.! There is a hot tub. Hours are from 3pm until 10:30pm. Also, they have the friendliest dog, Maple walking around! *You will need an all-wheel drive to get up here as the hill is steep and snow covered. However, we got up there with a Chevy Volt, but it took many many tries. We booked last minute for the weekend before Christmas and were lucky they still had rooms. Apparently, peak season starts after Christmas. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
The perfect place for our weekend get away to Jay and Owl's Head. It feels like being in a Christmas movie going home to the holidays. Warm and cozy with excellent homemade breakfast. You feel like family except you don't have to do any work. OUTDOOR HOT TUB IN THE SNOW! fireplace going practically 24-7! Maple the house Labrador is precious but won't bother you for a second if you're not into dogs. There's a steep 30ish degree 80 footish long hill to get up there which was a bit of a challenge in the snow for my chevy volt....but even if I did not manage it the plow comes at least once a day if needed. Most rooms have a bathroom but if your's doesn't you're only sharing it with one other room and there are men/womens bathrooms downstairs for everyone. We had a room with 4 twin beds ! perfect for our small group.

Yelp
Very enjoyable relaxing 3 night stay. Chris was an extremely courteous attentive host. If she offers to cook dinner I strongly firmly suggest you accept the offer. We had a wonderful pecan glazed chicken breast, very memorable. The dinning room had a wonderful wood burning stove that added wonderfully to the cozy ambiance.

Yelp
Would give 0 stars if only I could. First we walk into a super tight hallway in some house for 20 minutes waiting for someone to see us. Then we get to our small closet sized room.. There were 10 bugs at least flying around our room. We did not even stay for more than 10 minutes before fleeing from the scene.
