"Old meets new at this charming eatery by the Ha’penny Bridge, on the north side of the River Liffey. Set in a four-story, century-old space where James Joyce once worked—albeit, transformed with modern-rustic flair and featuring a heated rooftop—the team behind sister restaurant The Winding Staircase serves homemade baked goods and modern Irish dishes that are as generous as they are flavorful, drawing a crowd of neighborhood regulars and plugged-in tourists. The comfortable vibe makes it an easy pick for casual breakfasts and afternoon tea, while the upscale presentation (and prices) and touches like white tablecloths and fresh flowers take things up a notch at night." - Sandra Ramani

Perfect full Irish! The vegan beet and apple burger was really special too. Lovely coffee. Great service and brilliant views of the famous Ha'penny Bridge - we sat outdoors and the overhead heaters did a good job. Overall not very cheap but to be expected for a big city.

A must to do in Dublin! It was one of the best Irish breakfast I ever had. All the staff was very friendly and receptive, we booked a table and we didn't have to wait to be seated, I highly recommend this place to start to discover Dublin/Ireland and I front of Penny bridge one of the most famous bridges in the city.

Very cute restaurant that my colleague and I stumbled upon while looking for fish n' chips. We very much enjoyed our meal, and the service and ambience were delightful. Though I had my fair share of Guiness on this trip, this place offered a small taste of home, as well - La Chouffre!

vegetarian christmas lunch! the burrata was soft, the dumplings (more like gnocchi) were OUT OF THIS WORLD, and the brownie was exquisite. 20/10, would go again. waiters refilled wine, provided bread and non-alc drinks, and cleaned broken glasses, all v quickly and with a smile. thank you so much for the fantastic service!

Stopped in here for a bite to eat while about the town, it’s a nice spot and well located. The food that we had was very nice although we asked for extra dips which we never received and after our food we were looking for tea and coffee which they could not offer us for some reason as to them not having any teapots left. Overall the service is very slow and slightly disappointing but the food itself was very nice.

We decided to try The Woollen mills for dinner last night, and it was truly an exceptional experience. Situated by the River Liffey, the restaurant not only offers stunning views but also boasts of a staff that’s enthusiastic and willing to assist with menu recommendations and drink pairings which truly added to the overall charm of the establishment. As an appetiser we had the beef cheek croquettes. The combination of paprika aioli and relish provided a delightful contrast to the rich, tender beef. We swiped it right off our plates!! For our main, we indulged in quintessential Irish dishes. The gnocchi had a perfect texture and flavours. The cured gammon with cabbage and potatoes was equally impressive, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to serving authentic Irish cuisine at its finest. There are veggie options also available on the menu and fish options. Would definitely recommend this place for a night out , a date night or even a family gathering.

It's always difficult to write a genuine review where you are not gushing about how wonderful somewhere is. The Woollen Mills is the type of place that is simply OK. There's nothing wrong with the food but then there's nothing really outstanding either. For instance the caesar salad was 90% lettuce and very little else. The nachos starter was unfortunately very bland despite the enthusiastic write up on the menu. The setting is really nice but could do with some soft furnishing to dampen the reflected noise from other diners. The one redeeming feature for me is that they offer Old Jamaican Ginger Beer, always a plus point 😊
