The Yak Lake House

Amazing stay at the hostel! The vibe is absolutely great — you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Huge shoutout to the super friendly and helpful staff, especially ALI at the front desk who was incredibly kind during our whole stay. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. One of the best parts: direct access to the Bacalar lagoon — such a treat and the perfect way to start or end the day! Only small downside: the AC in the rooms could be stronger, but we were given extra blankets so it wasn’t a problem at all. And don’t miss the avocado toasts — they’re delicious! Highly recommend this place

Loved my stay at this hostel in Bacalar! The room had an amazing view, the AC worked perfectly, and the price was super affordable. One of the best parts was having direct access to the lagoon — I could hang out there all day! The staff was great and organized lots of fun activities, which made it really easy to meet people and enjoy the area. Overall, I’d definitely recommend staying here and would 100% come back. Such a great experience!

This is hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s spotless, full of great energy, and there’s always something going on, from workshops to parties and daily activities. The program is super well thought-out, and everything is designed to help people connect and actually become friends. The vibe is amazing, the people are cool, and the whole place just makes you feel at home. Can’t recommend it enough!

Amazing hostel, a place you must stay if you’re going to Bacalar!! The staff is amazingly kind and helpful (shout out to Diego and Brisa!) The kitchen is great to cook for yourself, and their restaurant options are yummy too!! The rooms are also confortable, i tried both the 8 and 6 beds dormitories and they’re great for the price One of the best places ive been that will make me come back to mexico !

Just nice people (Davy, Vicky and Daniel - free lance guides) making a living to guide you around the lagoon. Our 3 hour tour is not enough to experience the lagoon fully. I would have loved to take my own kayak, take a little tent with me and paddle around for some days. A pity I did not have more time,. something too keep on dreaming off.

Oryginaly booked for 3 nights and extended one night, because experience was great, atmosphere was amazing with lots of activities. Also, the location was nice! it is very close to the lake, good for the morning swim. Bri helped me select some tours and I recommend los rapidos with the hostel, had good time. Thanks!

Amazing hostel, great location and stunning view of the lake. This hostel has everything you want, activities are great and it’s a vibe. Hostel staff have been incredibly helpful with everything and couldn’t recommend it more. Shout out to Noa and Azul who assisted us with staying on an extra night & provided us with some of the best service we’ve had in hostels around the world - these guys were awesome! People staying were super sociable and easy to make groups. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful hostel next to the lagoon! I can recommend this place. Friendly staff. The kitchen and dorm were clean. The only comment that I would have is that the AC is too cold, I got sick during my two nights here. And not just me, multiple people in my room were coughing all night. They put it at 16 degrees celsius. If you want, you can get extra covers, but still.
