Second visit and it definitely wont be our last, already looking at options for our next adventure here.|We had 4 nights in The Smithy, on a self-catering basis this time, we did the full DBB last time, felt we wanted a little more flexibility this time, not tied to meal times in The Bistro.||Cottage has everything you will need for your stay if you are catering for yourself, well thought out kitchen space/living room area, full bathroom with shower over the bath, lovely comfy bed. There is a little garden seating area attached to The Smithy, to relax and while-away the evening with a glass of wine whilst planning the next days walking route. Thankfully the weather was kind and we ate out in the garden for breakfast, evening nibbles etc.||We treated ourselves on Saturday to a meal in The Bistro. Being Saturday it was busy but the staff were attentive and extremely helpful with our meal choices.|Food was delicious, for starters we secured the last Duck Spring Roll (it was on the specials that night) and the Loaded Onion Bhaji - we shared both, they were delicious. |For mains we had the Chowder and the Lamb Kofta - both were out of this world. |The Yan Bistro doesn't skimp on their portion sizes so sadly we had no room for desert! We opted for coffee in our cottage, feet up and a film on netfilx.||Location of The Yan is perfect for the hardcore walker and the not so, access to bus is only a short walk away, services can take you directly to Keswick, Ambleside, Windermere and beyond if you so wish.||There is a good mixture of accommodation at The Yan, Cottages or 'Hotel' rooms and even well equipped Pods. Something for everyone, The Smithy accommodates 2 people, but there is The Cottage and The Farmhouse if there are more of you wanting to stay at the same time. ||Thank you Team Yan for another enjoyable stay. Cant wait to visit again.
