Their focus on proper technique and well structured classes have helped me develop from someone with zero strength and muscle tone, to a person who loves trying to lift heavy things! The encouragement and guidance from both trainers and fellow members have been invaluable in helping me progress. Joining The Yard has had such a positive impact on my mind and body. One of the best gyms I have ever been to. When I started, I was so worried about going because I am a complete beginner with strengths and I was expecting really strong people at the gym who might not be patient with me. However seeing the reviews made me want to give this place a try and I haven’t looked back. From the minute I walked in, I felt right at home. Scott, Vicky, Jaiah and Faith are kind, understanding and fun trainers who really care about your journey. They will tailor the class to you and help you grow. I have never felt stronger in my life and they have helped me reach here. If you are a beginner and are struggling to get into a strengths routine, this is the place to go - they are lekker! Not to mention that everyone in the class is also sweet, everyone in their own journey, trying to reach their own goals.

I LOVE The Yard (formerly known as Moove – the OGs will know). I’m proud to count myself as one of the OGs, back when it was just Vicky running the show. I’ve been part of this gym for almost three years, and it truly feels like family. What makes it special is the sense of community—there’s no fluff, excessive mirrors, egos, or hidden agendas—just a group of people who genuinely love to moove 😉. Things leveled up even more when Vicky met Scott, and Moove transformed into The Yard, complete with a rebrand, fresh equipment, and a great new vibe. I’m so proud of how the gym has evolved over these three years. With such a wide range of classes—and Vicky being the queen of Hyrox in the country—we even have Hyrox classes to keep Cape Town’s influencers entertained. Haha. Forever a proud Yardie—thanks, Scott and Vicky!
