"When visiting Bath, we think there's only one place to stay: a charming hotel made up of a series of historic buildings centered around a bright open-air courtyard. From a glass of bubbles on arrival to plush beds draped in English fabrics, it's absolutely luxe; our room even had a skylight above the bed that let dappled morning light slowly wake us. While there are a great variety of rooms, we also loved the daily basket of breakfast goodies delivered to the door—paired with an in-room kettle and something to read (or watch), it made for a fantastic, slow Somerset start to the day." - Coolstuff Team

We really enjoyed our stay at the Yard. We had room 8 which has the patio and it was lovely. There are lots of nice touches such as the minibar, the breakfast and fluffy towels. For a small hotel the room was really well equipped and it has the most comfortable bed ever! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Communication before, during and after our stay was excellent. Perfect location for going into the centre of Bath. Having parking is a big plus too and it's reasonably priced. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Lovely central hotel. The room was very nice, well equipped - the fan was much appreciated. No road noise even though we were at the front of the building. Good shower with wonderful fluffy towels. Breakfast in the room was a great touch. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. As we came via Bristol Airport it was very handy to have the Airport Bus stop 2 minutes along the road.

I thought the rooms at the yard were okay but there was so much lacking. I saw the previous reviews and all the marketing material which they had and which seemed quite promising to be quite inauthentic if I’m being honest. There was so much sound not only from outside the room because it faces a street where there’s commotion all day and night round but also from the floor creaking constantly while someone is walking outside the room or on the floor above you. They do give earplugs but they hardly blocked any sounds out. The curtains also didn’t close the whole way and thus there was always light coming in the room. The main bulb in the room kept on flickering the whole time inspite of several attempts at my end for fixing it as the night shift person directed me with the dimmer. But this made it so difficult to manage sitting in the room with that flickering bulb and read anything at all and it gave me a headache. Also there’s no lift which makes getting suitcases so hard because of the narrow stairs. Their policies are also very strict and not at all hospitable so they need the room checkout at 10:00 AM and don’t offer any flexibility because apparently their cleaning staff cannot manage and will have to change their timings if you ask for a slightly later checkout at 10:30 or 11:00 for which they will ask you for 20 pounds. Honestly I didn’t even think the location was that great and I would suggest anyone reading this to take their business elsewhere and not fall for all the marketing they do. I honestly don’t understand how this place is so hyped!

Lovely stay. My room was done up in my favorite colors of taupe and black. Very clean, comfy bed, with excellent shower and fluffy towels. The room's entry vestibule made the room feel larger. The Roberts radio in the room was tuned to Classic FM which I now stream back home. The breakfast hamper that showed up at my doorstep each morning was brilliant. No need to change out of my pjs to enjoy my tea, juice, croissant and yogurt. Well-equipped, well-stocked room included a refrigerator and tableware. The hotel was just a few minutes walk from the busyness of central Bath. Excellent restaurants right nearby, including Clayton's Kitchen and The Scallop Shell.

We stayed for 2 nights at The Yard after our wedding and it was great. The location is fantastic and very central which makes walking to the city centre easy. The rooms are nicely finished and clean with a great bathroom. Really comfortable beds and in a very quiet location too.

Great location in the very centre of Bath with all the historic buildings, shops, restaurants and bars. We walked to the pedestrian centre in 5 minutes. The staff were excellent, very friendly and ultra helpful. The bedroom and ensuite were bigger than we had expected (not large by US standards) but comfortable. As with many locations there is a downside to being close to all the historic sites. That is, it is noisy through the night after 11.00 pm and in the early mornings from 4.30 am onwards with delivery vans, buses, etc. it's a trade off - convenience for noise! The other thing is there is no lift, so if you are handling your wife's ultra heavy suitcase to the top floor (3 flights) it is a late evening or early morning workout. I made it but, how many years for that..... We booked parking at the hotel in advance we really recommend that you do this as it is very limited. it is also very convenient being just across the road from the front door of the hotel. It's £15 fir 24 hours.

Lovely little hotel. Friendly, quiet, and nicely decorated. The sliding bathroom door didn't give much privacy, and the room became a little hot, but it was clean and relaxing.

We stayed at The Yard for a couple of nights during the week while visiting our daughter at uni in Bath. The location of the hotel is perfect as it’s very close to the centre of things but set in a quiet street that houses a few good restaurants and pubs as well. The hotel is small and the staff are friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was quirky and yet had all the modern features you look for in any hotel (great shower, beautifully decorated, brilliantly comfortable bed and very clean). The Yard also goes the extra mile by supplying small bottles of fresh milk for your tea or coffee making in your room, they offer cutlery for any food you may take to your room and the room also comes with a Robert’s radio too which is a lovely touch. I cannot leave a review without mentioning the towels. I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels over the years but the towels at The Yard are the best (read fluffiest) towels ever!
