We had such an amazing time at the Yardarm to celebrate our Honeymoon. The location is amazing, offering an easy drive to both Portland and Bar Harbor - spots that you must see! The rooms are honestly stunning, and you can tell the level of care that has gone into each one in the remodel that is being done under the new ownership. It is clear to see how much they want to keep the appeal of a more rustic location while adding all of the modern amenities you'll need. The quality of the rooms was complimented by the quality of the service, which was exquisite. We rather much enjoyed the ease of checking in and out, and appreciated how friendly the staff was. We also loved the breakfast offered - complete with freshly brewed coffee and HOMEMADE blueberry muffins. We will definitely be staying here again, and encourage everyone to stay at this wonderful establishment :)

We recently stayed at the Yardarm Motel during a visit to Freedom, ME. This motel gave us so much more than we expected. Very picturesque and welcoming! Our room was very clean. Bed comfortable. We only opened a window - air or heat was not needed. Our checkout was the big surprise. We chatted with Jenna about the history of the motel and all the hopes & dreams of its new owners. Homemade blue muffins started our day! Great spot!

My husband, our 2 pups, and I stayed here for 3 nights over the long weekend. I truly wish there were more (dog-friendly!!) motels like this. Our room was simple but clean (we had a queen room) with a mini fridge, microwave, and small table with 2 chairs. The front porch with nice chairs and tables, as well as the front yard with fire pit and chairs, is a real treat! Especially with 2 dogs, it makes life much easier to have super accessible outdoor space and space to just hang outside (my pups love to sit and watch the world go by). The breakfast each morning was a lovely touch and meant we could get up at our own pace and not rush out to find coffee or something to eat. We will absolutely be back if we are in the area and would recommend this spot to others. I look forward to seeing what they do as they continue to improve and renovate the space!!!

It was very lovely. -our room/bathroom was clean -the place is easy to find -check in was easy -the room is quiet -the room was affordable -bed is spring but pretty nice and comfortable compare to other 3stars hotel -Love the history/background of the place. -it is small and comfortable and enough for us two.

This was the best of all the motels we stayed at on our recent trip. They're obviously updating and improving the place, and it was appreciated. The light breakfast and the availability of self-serve drinks etc was great, and we enjoyed it. It was a bit basic, although they'd made great efforts to make it comfortable. The aircon was quite loud, so we didn't use it. They need to give consideration to having bedside tables of some description, so phones and water can be easily reached in the dark. There was obviously some maintenance going on, which impacted a little - but the roadworks were intrusive, especially when trucks were going along the road at 4.30am!! It is on a quite busy road, so take earplugs.

This motel is well above great! The owners are very friendly and take care of your needs. The homemade blueberry muffins are the best I ever had. Will definitely go back.

This place was lovely. Truly. I wish we had more time to stay, and we will most definitely be back. They have signs in the rooms about how the motel had previously fallen into disrepair, but that they’re putting love into it, and you can feel the love. I’m someone who likes to be a little ways out of the touristy areas, and this place was perfect for that. And the check in was THE BEST I’ve ever had. Dreamy. I wish every place made it that easy. The homemade goodies and breakfast sounded so good, we just didn’t have time to get over there, and same about using the fire pit. Also, loved the big windows, and great water pressure in the shower. This place is going to stick with me, and I’ll be back for sure.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how quaint and cosy these little rooms were. When I found out it was a restored 73-year-old motel, I was pleased that I had a chance to experience this charm of yesteryear. Everything about it, including the price, was right.

Yelp
Getting there: you pull into the gravel parking lot and park next to your room. This did not feel like a motel at all!! It felt like a nice airbnb. Bed was comfy and shower was great. Highly recommend stopping here. We had dogs and they didn't say anything. We checked in pretty late around 11PM because we were on a road trip through the New England States. Check in/check out process was super easy. Breakfast was light and comforting. The view from the breakfast area was very peaceful.

Yelp
Once again a great stay! No contact entry and a plain room for the right price. Great breakfast, better than any chain and Duncan's is across the street, as well as a convivence store. Just wish Searsport would FINALLY pave the road!

Yelp
This is a vintage Motel and just taken over by new owners. A family living in the big house. They are keeping the 60 s style. Knotty pine with upgrades in the bathrooms. They are repainting the rooms as they go. So we have tv, refer, microwave and WiFi. Our room is quiet and we would stay again. We re here for two nights. Lots of Antiques shopping in this village. We ll start early.

Yelp
A decent value for price in the area; this was the cheapest I could get that was within reasonable distance of Acadia. The decor was really beautiful, with a nautical theme throughout the room and a massive attraction map of Maine on the wall. Since it's a motel, you can park really close to your room, making accessing your car super convenient. The bed was also very comfortable. The condition of some parts of the room could have been better. The bathroom floor was a bit uneven, and the door was a bit hard to close. They could have also provided clearer instructions for the wifi; apparently you had to use the new wifi network because the old one wasn't working, but it wasn't described in their welcome document. Cell coverage in this area is quite spotty, so I had to go on roaming to call them to get the wifi situation sorted out. But once connected the wifi worked without a hitch.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Yardarm for 2 days in late September. Rick and Sabrina were wonderful hosts. The homemade baked goods and the specialty coffee provided in the morning were delicious. The breakfast also included various cereals, yougurts, juices and fresh fruit. The breakfast room is open until 9:00 at night and has a Keurig for those wanting afternoon or evening coffee. Our cabin provided everything we needed. It was spacious, clean and the bathroom had a heated fan which I loved. The WiFi was adequate but a little spotty which I blame on Hurricane Ian. The Yardarm is a quaint little motel with front porches which we took advantage of in the evenings. If we get back up that way again we will definitely stay there.

Yelp
Second year there.... GREAT down-to-earth motel. Love everything about it.... Host was phenomenal, esp as I did his photography workshop. You can walk to the beach, down Navy st/rd/? Sunrise sunset. Anglers restaurant is awesome.... Great selection, can get busy but it moves... go early or go late or order out. Even with one full day when the hurricane hit, we were fine.... Reading, puzzles, napping! Shall return. Enjoy!

Yelp
I booked the motel since a friend just moved up to the area - I stayed 2 nights - basic motel, clean and tidy and a decent price - some things need to be updated - 2 prog plugs in room and couldnt plug in my computer so I had to use the extention cord from the a/c unit. The continental breakfast was very minimal. Instant oatmeal, some fruit and coffee - I would step this up a bit and provide danishes, muffins, hard boiled eggs, etc The place needs updating - paint outside etc but again for the price and it was extremely clean I would stay again but would hope for some upgrades

Yelp
I stayed for 3 nights, and had a great time. The breakfast had a lot of choices, including cereals, muffins, fruits, and yogurts, as well as coffee, milk, and juice. You had a fridge and microwave in the room to save on food costs. They had a really nice seafood place nearby called the Anglers. I got a fantastic salmon dinner , reasonably priced. They had a small store right across the street where you could get water and snacks. There is a Dollar General store also nearby. Nobody came in your room everyday and let you have your privacy. They provided you with clean towels as needed. The shower and toilet both worked well. The place was cozy and clean. I was very fortunate to find a room, because a previous reservation was cancelled within a month of my arrival. I highly recommend you book this motel. They also give you up to 3 days before your arrival to cancel without fees.

Yelp
Clean and charming! The way motels should be! The owners are echo-friendly have plans to add a restaurant and small farm out back for kids to enjoy. Can't wait to see it on out next trip! And you can bring your dog!

Yelp
Stayed at this motel for a night while on a road trip with my boyfriend. The owner was very sweet and the complimentary breakfast was delicious! I had never stayed in a motel before (I will acknowledge my privilege!) And I was definitely a bit nervous, but this place was a pleasant surprise! The room felt clean (for the most part) and the service and accommodations were lovely. We arrived a little on the later side and spent the night in watching the bachelor. The TV did a weird clicky sound thing every few minutes but it didn't bother me too much. This was a great place to stop for the night and was incredibly budget friendly! The owners wife even made a few recommendations on things to do on our way up to Acadia the next morning and her recommendations did not disappoint!

Yelp
Everything you would want in a roadside motel! Clean, charming and friendly, helpful owner/operators. They went out of their way to accommodate our schedule and walked us through our dining and laundry options in the area, which we really appreciated after a cold, wet week of camping. What the rooms lack in glamour they more than make up for with character. We will definitely be back! We only had a quick visit to Searsport, but it seemed really cute. It's within driving distance to a lot of fun "coastal Maine" things to do. Note that things close by 6-7, so just plan accordingly!

Yelp
The Yardarm Motel is the cheapest in the area. I stayed there while on vacation driving the coast. The room was small, but that was to be expected given how great the price was. During my time in Main it was close to peak season so I decided to spend three nights in the hotel and use it as my launch pad for exploring each day. I drove to Acadia twice as well as several small gorgeous towns. I give the motel five stars since it was clean and super cheap. I also had the chance of meeting the owner who was incredibly nice. The continental breakfast was simple (juice, bread, cereal, and muffins), but given the price the fact that there was a breakfast at all was a nice surprise. I also found the WiFi to be consistently fast. I highly recommend the Yardarm Motel for the budget traveler.

Yelp
This place is adorable, clean, and affordable. The breakfast is simple, yes, but it's all you need, and the sun-room is beautiful. We had nice exposed beams in our room, which at peak season was just $90 for 2 queens! Beds, I mean. My only thing was that the bathroom was a little strange, and the shower leaked onto the floor. But maybe I just don't operate in the morning. Also, WiFi is not to be taken lightly, people! Give this place a stay. 4.5 stars

Yelp
Spent three nights at this charming motel. Very nice accommodations, picturesque building and very friendly hosts. Almost like a B&B. Wi-fi was free and it worked. The location is a bit off the beaten track but generally convenient to Belfast and Lincolnville Beach. there is a very nice sunny breakfast room that is open each morning for a continental breakfast and all day for coffee, cereal and pastry.. Non smoking rooms throughout but ample room outside on the verandah for smokers and a table for outside dining near the breakfast room. The rates are pretty low for the area. It's not the Hilton, but it is very nice.

Derek W.

Yelp
Well, it's cheap. There's free wi-fi (although it is very spotty) and a free continental breakfast. And visually it appears to be clean. Unfortunately, all the rooms reek of formaldehyde and my cousin's room had a bathroom door that didn't go all the way to the top of the door frame and a doorknob that didn't function. If you really want to be stingy it is cheap, but I'd spring for something a little less run down.

Yelp
We stayed 4 nights at the motel & wished we picked another place to stay. The room was small which was fine for us but is in great need of repair. The screen door wouldn't close all the way & had a 1" gap at the top for all the bugs to come in. Neither the front door nor bathroom door would stay open or closed all the way. Bathroom was on the rundown side, and i was afraid to step on the carpet with my bare feet. Breakfast was sad, coffee was weak & only had cereal or English muffins to choose from, was wishing for a piece of fruit or something by the second morning. The lady who owned the motel was nice to me but rude to my BF & the gentleman didn't even respond back when we said "Good Morning" to him in the breakfast room. We were charged for our stay upon check in, not check out & i wasn't told how much the bill was until after my credit card was run through and never given a break down of the charges . Will never be staying there again which is a shame because it was convenient to where we needed to be and looked so cute from the outside.

Yelp
Our first stay at the Yardarm. The room was functional, bed comfortable, linens clean, flat screen tv / free wifi and a continental breakfast. The bathroom was in serious need of renovation.... A bath fitter would have improved it greatly. My complaints; hair in the bathroom everywhere.. Spiders..and the heater was way to close to the bed.... My feet were hot while the rest of me was cold.
