The Yearling Restaurant

We happened upon this restaurant after visiting the nearby state park, so we weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, portion size was perfect and the staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely stop in here again.

One of my top favorite restaurants in the entire state of Florida for its “old Florida “ charm, friendly staff, antique/vintage decor, local history and books for sale, stage for live music, and of course, the food. I got the steak burger, and man was that burger GOOD. So much flavor and one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

Great hole-in-the wall restaurant that's got a rustic flair. Everything I've had has been hot and fresh. Service is always great. They've got neat antique books for sale and cool stuffed animals in the back.

I wasn't sure what to expect.But boy, am, I glad I decided to come here.The food was outstanding from start to finish the appetizers.All the way to the luncan't wait to go back

We visited Hawthorne and this restaurant came highly recommended. We stopped in for a late lunch and it was so worth it. Real southern homemade dishes. Lots of variety from seafood to burgers and sandwiches. Everything is prepared that day and served piping hot. You must order dessert it is the best! The shrimp and grits were some of the best I have ever tasted and I’m from the south! Really cool place to walk around and look at all the books and decor.

Goog food. Nice rustic atmosphere. Will be back. It was a great experience. I drove over a hour to get to it since it was highly recommended by a friend

Rented 2 cabins for the weekend and brought a boat. Great bass fishing on 2 lakes. What a Florida gem. The owners did a fabulous job keeping it old Florida themed. Loved the food and warm welcome vibe. Cabins had everything, with cozy beds. Thank you for a memorable time

This is a gem in the midst of Florida back roads. Amber was great, the food was fabulous, and the rustic atmosphere was down home. We explored the entire restaurant while our food was being prepared. A huge library of books, nostalgia hung on the walls, some vinyl 45s and a mini museum of local wildlife. Will definitely return on one our road trips.
