My husband and I had a wonderful short stay at the Yellow House. The view of the house driving up is so lovely and the view from our room was even better. The house is very well appointed and maintained. The staff are very friendly and the breakfasts were perfect. They have thought of every need you may have in your room or bathroom. I hurt my back and the owner (Chad) and a staff member, without skipping a beat, set up breakfast in our room until I was able to move around that morning. That kindness goes a long way. I am eager to return.

Stayed five days for a wedding. This is one of the most comfortable, pleasant, easy going B&B’s we have ever stayed in. Our experience was fantastic. The home and grounds are absolutely amazing and Chad was the ultimate host. The food and baked goods are made fresh daily and the period decorated rooms, as well as the entire home, are immaculate! Words do not do the home and surrounding area justice. |Thank you Chad & Josh. |Jerry & Stacey

Yellow House is a wonderful place - 5 star plus! We really enjoyed the gracious hospitality we received and the Yellow House's upscale excellence in a beautiful setting. Chad welcomed us with a smile, a tour, a glass of wine, and homemade cookies. Deana served a first class, delicious breakfast each day and was quite friendly and helpful. Out stay could not have been better. We look forward to returning. Thank you!|Don & Jane Drumm|Signal Mtn, TN

Charming, charming, charming! Southern Mnt B&B at its finest. We love the Yellow House and stay every time we visit our family in WNC. Their attention to truly caring for their guests is evident with all the small touches along the way. Even though they had just wrapped up hosting two weddings on property Saturday, Chad was still there to greet us back with a glass of wine and snack in hand! We will always plan to stay at the Yellow House as often as possible.

We had a small, intimate wedding at The Yellow House. The absolute ease of everything exceeded any, and all expectations we had. Our entire day was perfect. Chad was a dream to work with, he was there whenever we needed him. Always popping up at the perfect times 😊 The entire house was immaculate, our room had everything we could possibly need, and the food was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about our experience, and stay here. They deserve 1 million stars! Best of the best! Thank you, Chad. Everything was PERFECT!

The breakfast, service and amenities were fantastic! Chad is an excellent host and makes your experience very inviting and comfortable. The house is very well maintained and our room was spacious with nice touches such as homemade cookies or brownies in our room at night. We’ll definitely stay here again when we visit the Asheville/Waynesville area.

How welcoming and peaceful The Yellow House is! Chad and his staff take wonderful care of guests. The home is immaculate and the cuisine scrumptious! Situated in a park like setting where nature abounds, it is a visual treat. You will never want to stay anywhere else!

My wife and I live in South Florida, and have traveled to Waynesville for years, as we will be making it our permanent home one day soon.. And on every trip we make, we ALWAYS stay at the Yellow House, WITHOUT QUESTION. Chad and Dina are two of THE BEST people you will ever find in this world, and go above and beyond to make us and all their guests feel welcome. You only need to stay there once, and you will NEVER want to stay anywhere else. From the moment you walk in the front door, you'll feel welcome, relaxed, comfortable and at peace. Even after my wife and I permanently move to Waynesville from South Florida next year, we will have getaway weekends at The Yellow House. Thank you SO much again Chad and Dina for making our stay there so wonderful and relaxing. Colleen and I will see you soon. Love you guys.

Yelp
Whether Unplugging to Step Back in History or Unwinding with Today's Comforts the Yellow House offers the Best of both Worlds The Yellow House, built in 1885 (older than the Biltmore House) and its owners Josh and Chad maintain its charm and expose its rich history while running their Bed and Breakfast. Josh and Chad have done their homework sharing stories of the Yellow House's past by digging up photos from yester-year displayed around the property. And for my son (under 10 years old) they offer lightning-fast WiFi internet and TVs as I sit back in a rocking chair to soak up the surroundings which include multiple ponds, a stream, outstanding persevered woodwork, and imagination the activities which took place in the house when it was used to smuggle booze (make sure to ask to see the Yellow House's secret door). And if the kids really great bored, they can go Gnome hunting and maybe catch a glimpse of nature in the process. Thank You Josh and Chad for making us feel welcome and for your OUTSTANDING customer service offered to our Family. We loved staying over to enjoy all the comforts you had to offer which include your wonderful Breakfasts (our son loved the special ordered Chocolate Chip Pancakes and Peanut Butter Pancakes).

Yelp
Fatigued, famished & arriving at 1 a.m, after a multitude of delayed flights; a curvy road ended atop a hill amidst the the Smoky Mountains; Utopia in grandiose, buttercream yellow stature stood before me. Warmly lit lanterns illuminated my path to a plantation style oasis.... Tiptoed yet lacking grace & crating 50 lbs of luggage, I spotted a demure green envelope with my name, greetings & precise, user friendly guidance to my room, breakfast etc.. The front lobby vibrates Scarlet O'Hara as the glistening wood floors, expanse & blur I could not comprehend at this hour.... Arriving at my my designated suite, Swooning with utter adoration for beauty capturing the era of the original house & the cutest, delightful peanut butter cookies on the coffee table... Invigorated & curiosity filled, I began to walk l softly, bereft of shoes to the bathroom where I beheld the key to my heart... Bathtubs are always an essential but, this was a mini glistening, ivory jetted monstrosity that likely could accommodate a queen and her court! Scented bath accoutrement in lovely package peppered the edge of the tub & well yes, I took 4 baths in two days! Scent of coffee & baked goodness beckoned me into the formal yet inviting ding room. I anticipated a danish and smattering of unseasonal fruit. Tskkk.., Bestill my heart mid beat, my breakfast included, ripe & sumptuous fruit in a crystal glass, apricot muffin with orange essence, & eggs baked with havarti & trust the magnificent meal plus a sun rising over an enchanting view set my fatigued heart afire! Alas, I easily could write chapters but, I must add one last love note before I close. Hospitality & service extraordinary is genre & pulse of the owners as I cannot covey an equal amount of gratitude for their kindness, commitment to exceptional & love for their new pursuit! Hence, if you do not go, you will never live the magic.. I will be back & next time it will not be be in the quick spin mode! Y'all are simply fabulous!!!!

Yelp
Best B&B in the Smokies. Outstanding accommodations and service. Everyone is friendly and goes the extra mile to provide whatever you might need. But they have already thought of everything! Atmosphere is relaxed and not stuffy!

Yelp
The most adorable, cozy, romantic, quaint B&B you could imagine. The owners are perfect! They greet you with a warm smile and give off the sense they have to fight off the urge to welcome you with bear hug. We were visiting for the weekend, but did not get to enjoy all that this gorgeous property had to offer. I was part of a wedding party and was off-site most of the time during our stay. My fiancé did get to lounge in the suite, enjoy the home baked treats and the peaceful scenery for a bit, though. The last day before our departure, we did have a few minutes to sit for breakfast and let me say, we should have pushed off some of the wedding activities to enjoy breakfast the other days. WOW! We walk up to the main house to check out and one of the owners greeted us. He mentioned that there was egg soufflé on the menu and started off on the full 3-course description. What detail! And the food certainly didn't disappoint. We left that morning stuffed with some of the best breakfast imaginable and distraught that we had missed so much of this gorgeous property during our stay. The breakfast alone, has us considering having our wedding in Waynesville, so we can stay there again!

Yelp
Spent Friday till Tuesday at this enchanting B&B. By far the best in the Smoky Mountains. The staff are amazing. Everything was spot on. Will be back next year! Thanks Chad and Josh:-)

Yelp
What a treat!! My partner brought me here for my 36th birthday, everything about this place was amazing. The owner was absolutely outstanding so friendly and very welcoming. My room was absolutely immaculate. Views where breathtaking. Even down to the amenities bath robes coffee mugs just 1000 percent perfect. I could not have asked for a better place to be for my birthday will absolutely be coming back. I highly recommend this place to anyone in my 36 years of traveling and staying at places this one takes first place.

Yelp
We visited the area about 6 years ago and went back again to stay at the Yellow House - what a great find. We stayed in the pond house this time and weren't sure we'd like it as much as the main house, but it was terrific. Food and service were great as well - you can't say "Bed & Breakfast" if you don't have a great breakfast and they came through once again. Thanks to Chad and his team for making our stay terrific!

Matthew M.

Yelp
Honestly an awesome place, with amazing staff who are willing to go the extra mile, and just an absolute delight to work with. I didn't stay here, but I am more commenting as a guest of a recent wedding that was held here. Ok let's go down the list as to why they rock - The bride was vegan so they made delishous vegan meals for her, as well as made exquisit vegan treats that everyone enjoyed. - The staff was friendly, helpful, honest, and were willing to work with all the requests that we had.... and we had to have a lot. So many. Honestly it was kind of insane how much we had to lean on them. Granted the wedding got rained on and everything went right off the rails and a bunch of scrambling had to occur to make it all work, but the staff was there with us helping every step of the way. Never complained, never said anything rude. Just helped. A++ consdering I wouldn't have had the patience they did to pull it all off. - The rooms are clean, tidy, and just really wonderfuly put together. This place is everything a B&B should be, and everything a venue should be. Well worth it, and honestly couldn't have made it happen without them. Shout out to Chad for being awesome.

Yelp
My stay at the Yellow House was totally worth every penny. The host was warm and welcoming, and the room was impeccable. The pictures do not do it justice. I was hesitant prior to our arrival that the room would feel stuffy and outdated but oh how wrong I was. The bed was so comfortable and clean. It was so relaxing sitting by the fireplace in our room and looking out onto the pond. I would highly recommend staying here. It's clean, hospitable, and charming.

Yelp
We had a very relaxing visit. We stayed in the Pond House and will do so again. It looked a bit old outside but everything inside was new, clean, functional, cozy, and welcoming. Our expectations were exceeded at every turn. The gas fireplace shared by the bedroom and soaking tub was romantic and heated the room quickly. Breakfast delivered to the room each morning by smiling (ok, behind masks, but their eyes were smiling) staff. We came back after a long day fly fishing at Cherokee and shopping in Waynesville to find a nice mid-day snack on our table. The hosts even remembered our dog's name and brought a towel for her, in case she went swimming, and some treats.

Yelp
Charming B&B! We stayed here for a family wedding recently. The rooms are all cute - original old charm with modern updates. The proprietor Chad was great from reservations to check out. Breakfast daily was incredible! Hot fresh-out-of-the-oven pastries, rotating fruit selection, and handmade entrees were all to die for. Fresh baked cookies dropped in your room each afternoon with refresh. Wow! Felt (and smelled) like they were constantly baking! Would highly recommend and will stay here again if in the area.

Yelp
Wow! We had to travel to Waynesville for an event on a Thursday night, and we booked this just a week ago. I have a feeling that on the weekends, a booking could not be had for months. This has to be one of the most delightful overnight experiences I've had anywhere in a long, long time. And I'm talking about the fanciest hotels, as well as the quaintest inns. We had the two-story Pond House suite with a fireplace, wonderful, sitting area, cozy eating area, and upstairs bedroom with outdoor deck - all nestled inside a wooded area and overlooking a small pond. Morning breakfast was exceptional: just-baked cinnamon scone, fresh-cut fruits, and egg soufflé straight out of the oven. I grew up in Waynesville, and I have stayed in almost every respectable hotel in Asheville, as well as several bed-and-breakfasts closer to Waynesville, but this is a cut above everything. I do not get back here very often, but when I do, I will not stay anywhere else.

Yelp
This is absolutely the best mountain vacation experience my boyfriend and I have ever had, for a multitude of reasons. I will explain them all in a greater detail for you but to focus on the key points, these are the main reasons our stay was so perfect: 1. The Yellow House's décor and landscape 2. The value you receive for what you pay 3. The romantic atmosphere 4. An elevated standard of hospitality 5. The most delicious 3-course breakfast you could imagine 6. A central location to all the best Smoky Mountain activities 7. Cleanliness - a clean your mother would approve of Décor/Landscape - the Yellow House sits on 5 acres of gorgeous property that you can explore and enjoy while you stay. There are 2 ponds with tons of wildlife and nature to enjoy, making the property a little extra magical and comforting. The property also sports several comfortable spots to relax as you take in the nature. I added hundreds of beautiful photos to my camera roll here. There are also a family of geese that live on the property and make it even more enjoyable, if you love nature, you will love this place! Value - Every room on the property has a fireplace and many of them have a 2 person jet-tub, creating an elevated experience for your stay. Even the more affordable rooms with Queen size beds still feel like a "suite" experience. The price, even when you pay the highest rate, is very reasonable when you consider what you receive in return. The atmosphere is unmatched, and the breakfast is like a fine-dining experience, well worth the price! Romantic Rooms- This is the perfect place to get-away with your significant other, the entire place has a lovely and romantic atmosphere that makes your stay even more special. With several packages available to enhance your experience such as rose petals for your bed and wine with chocolate strawberries to enjoy together, you can really live like royalty for your stay! Elevated Hospitality - The incredible hospitality is one of the many reasons our stay was perfect at The Yellow House. Chad, the owner, is amazing at what he does and is an expert in hospitality. The hospitality and attention to detail at The Yellow House well exceeded my expectations. I knew, based on other reviews, that the experience would be lovely, but it was even better than I could have anticipated. Chad spent time with us during the booking process, leading up to our stay, and during our time at the house to ensure we had the ultimate experience. Delicious Breakfast - The breakfast also exceeded our expectations, pictures and comments just do not prepare you for the care and coordination of the breakfast at The Yellow House. You get a great variety as there is always a fruit item, bread item, and entrée. Fresh coffee is also included and was just as delicious as the breakfast. We always felt the ultimate satisfaction after eating, as the meal was not only delicious, but nothing you had to feel totally guilty about eating! Central Location - The Yellow House is a close drive to several great locations near the Smoky Mountains. During our stay, we enjoyed seeing the double falls at Soco Falls near Maggie Valley and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Yellow House is also close to The Biltmore, Downtown Asheville, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pisgah National Forest, and much more! Cleanliness - The cleanliness of this location is mother-approved! I even tried the dust trick in several locations and found no sign of any dirt or dust. At one point, I dropped an earring under a cabinet in the bathroom and had to move it to get my earring back. To my surprise, even under and behind locations where dust could easily collect between stays, this area was also immaculate. The bedding and linens are all white, which is a true sign luxury and cleanliness. I promise you that you will enjoy your stay, hundreds of others seem to agree with me. I am so glad I listed to the reviews because this truly is a beautiful location and sets the best atmosphere for your get-away! Thank you to the Yellow House and to Chad for blowing us away, we really hope to return ASAP!

Yelp
My husband and I have a cabin in Sylva and lost power so we booked a room at this lovely B & B. We really enjoyed our night there. The room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. I slept really well on the comfy bed and the pillows were fantastic. Breakfast was delivered to our room and was delicious! We had eggs, fresh fruit, bacon, lemon poppy seed bread and stuffed French toast paired with orange juice and fresh brewed coffee. Chad is a wonderful host and I highly recommend coming here if you are in the Waynesville area.

Yelp
Ken and his wife bought this place in 2017, and let me say, I have never found an owner who wanted his guests to gave a great experience, more than Ken does. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is good. Besides a couple of small things, like broken shades, and an old crt television, this place was very nice. We had the Sunrise suite in the Pond house. Had a musty smell when you entered the first room, which had a trundle bed, but in the next room (living room with fireplace), I didn't notice the smell. Small fridge was well stocked with Diet Coke, regular coke, sprite, juice and water. A couple packs of popcorn were located beside the microwave. There was also a coffee maker. Upstairs was the bedroom, with a small fireplace in the wall. A 2 person jacuzzi tub was also in the room. Huge walk-in shower in the bathroom, with really nice tiles. Also had a small outdoor deck attached to the upstairs. Breakfast was great both mornings. Breakfast starts with some fruit with cream on top. One morning we had spinach and mushroom quiche with sausage links and a biscuit. The next morning we had pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. Coffee and several kinds of juice were the drink options. At 5pm each evening was the wine & cheese hour, but it was so much more than that. Fresh fruit, dips, crackers and a cheese ball. On the second evening, Ken set out some tea and lemonade, for us non-wine drinkers, which was very nice. Near the kitchen, there were always some snacks out, and there were usually some chocolate chip cookies under a glass dome, and I grabbed one that was still warm from the oven. Nice, quiet location. Thanks Ken for the wonderful stay.

Yelp
We stayed in a two-story suite in the pond house, and loved every minute of it - the suite boasted fireplaces on both floors, was ridiculously spacious, and proved to be well-appointed in every way. Migrating ducks (I say buffleheads, but my otherwise loving wife is skeptical) paddled contentedly on the small but picturesque pond. The innkeeper, Shawn, and his staff were highly competent and genuinely friendly, going the extra mile to ensure a wonderful getaway. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and our vegetarian diet was cheerfully accommodated. Snacks are available 24/7. Refrigerators are stocked with complimentary beverages. Many other happy surprises await you at the Yellow House, and you owe it to yourself to experience them.

Stacy S.

Yelp
I must start by saying that I did not stay at this B&B. However, I had a terrible booking experience. My husband and I were planning a last minute getaway for our 5th wedding anniversary and saw that this place had both availability and it was "dog friendly". I immediately made a reservation on Orbitz with the agreement that additional fees may apply with our pups- no problem. When I had more time to go on their website later that day I learned that only 2 of their rooms are actually dog friendly which was never stated in the agreement nor was there an option to specify one of those rooms on Orbitz. When I called and talked to the owner Ken he quickly apologized and mentioned that they hear this all time. Why on Earth wouldn't you correct the listing on third party websites if that's the case? I can't even imagine what it would have been like if we drove the 3 hours to get there to learn that. We ended up canceling the reservation and the rest of our travel plans due to lack of availability else where. This was finally going to be the year we could get away due to work schedules/ last minute opening in our schedules. I am devastated!

Lairyn S.

Yelp
Our 5 night stay at The Yellow House was the perfect mountain escape that we needed. We stayed in The Vineyard Suite, and had all the amenities we could want! Under new ownership, Chad was the perfect host. Conscientious, kind, and thoughtful, Chad took every detail into consideration. He made unique, delicious 3-course breakfasts every morning that incorporated local preserves & recipes, and even modified menu items to fit my husbands allergy. 40 minutes from Asheville, 15 minutes from Sylva, and a short drive from Maggie Valley, the location was ideal for any type of travel destination. Would DEFINITELY recommend to friends and family looking for a mountain get away!

Corinne B.

Yelp
Weekend getaway celebrating our 11th year of marriage. Perfect choice. Inn keepers/owners Ken and Kelly made our stay extraordinarily special. Location is central to everything and the home is simply beautiful! Will visit again, next time with friends :)

Barbara C.

Yelp
We stayed here when we were in town for my son's wedding. Our group had booked the entire B&B. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. The rooms are cute, the beds were comfortable, the property is gorgeous, and the staff is amazing! The breakfasts are amazing too! Chad and his staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. We had a food truck in for the rehearsal dinner and Chad and his staff handled set up and clean up. The day of the wedding one of the guests ended up in the emergency room with chest pains and Chad found the items she needed in her room and made a run to the hospital. Talk about going the extra mile for his guests. We all loved our stay and recommend The Yellow House highly! Ten stars if I could.

Geoff A.

Yelp
If you have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before this place will set the bar extremely high. Free wifi at speeds around 11mbps enough to stream videos from netflix. Free wine for an hour and the food is sublime You can choose to have breakfast delivered to your room and I highly recommend it so you can quickly jump into the jacuzzi before a mountain hike or shopping.

DeAnna S.

Yelp
This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Shawn, the host, has been amazing, accommodating our every need. We have been fed delicious food each morning and offered snacks each evening. There is always port wine for sipping as well. We were made to feel at home from the moment we walked through the front door. Our room was immaculately clean. Spending time on the porch sipping sangria with my boyfriend each evening while admiring the natural beauty of our surroundings had been absolute paradise. You must plan a visit here.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Great B&B. Quaint Inn. Staff great. 5 acres to explore. Can't wait to return!

Richard W.

Yelp
My husband and i stayed at The Yellow House for 6 nights back in May of this year, we had the most amazing time, the owners were super nice, they really make you feel at home, i can not wait to go back and stay longer.

Ken T.

Yelp
This is the greatest bed and breakfast ever, the owners are fun, place is clean, great property and food is phenomenal. Wonderful and memorable time.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Warm and wonderful place to stay! Beautiful rooms, lovely house, spectacular food and hospitality like none other! Shawn and his staff make the experience a getaway to remember. This is our favorite place, without question.

Greg O.

Yelp
Simply fantastic experience. Both luxurious and practical with numerous perks and a high level of attention to detail. Great service and contributed to a memorable and relaxing weekend.

Gina S.

Yelp
Great stay! We showed up last minute. They were very accommodating. Woke up to a beautiful view sitting outside on the upstairs balcony with coffee and a blanket. Breakfast was yummy . I imagine if we had stayed more nights we would've experienced even more good breakfast. My only complaint and it's a small one was the very noisy bed. I get it.. It's old but every move I felt the neighbors downstairs could hear. With that said, I would most definitely stay there again.

Terri R.

Yelp
I just stayed at the Yellow House for two nights - and two amazing breakfasts! The rooms are clean, more than comfortable and designed to meet your every need. My room had a huge king-sized bed, a jacuzzi tub, a fireplace, a kitchenette and a little sitting area. The food is so delicious and the portions are huge. With a breakfast at the Yellow House, you don't need to stop for lunch! During my stay I was treated to peach-stuffed french toast, egg souffle, baked grapefruit and an assortment of the usual dishes you would expect for breakfast. The cookie jar is always full and the innkeeper, Shawn, really makes you feel at home. I LOVE this place! And I highly recommend it!
