I had a two day stay in the Terrace Rooms and it was just what I needed. Clean, spacious room with a large comfortable bed and a quiet area. Even better a generous host in Nola Bliss who ensured our stay ran smoothly and went the extra mile by permitting an earlier check in and accepting some flowers from the local florist for us before our arrival.|My only regret is that we did not get to meet Nola and thank her and we would not hesitate to book here again

Our cycling group of 7 friends had a delightful stay in the terrace rooms of this hotel. Our ensuite rooms were large, clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we required. We could park our cars right outside our rooms. Our hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating . The hotel restaurant was unfortunately closed but we were able to walk around the corner where we had a great pub meal. The hotel was well situated with a supermarket nearby and all the tourist offerings of York within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed last week for 1 night 3 couples. All we can say is we had a fantastic stay . All rooms comfortable great beds ,even pillows you could use not like the monster pillows in most accommodation. Nola is a great host informed us of things happening in town and made us smile. It was perfect for our needs , fridge fans aircon beautiful bathroom products. Two of the rooms had spas . But we were there to spend time together and spent the evening watching the stars and having a laugh. Thanks Nola

I had a terrace room, very spacious with everything you need. The aircon didn’t turn on but luckily it was only the remote batteries which were replaced in a timely manner. The french doors to the outside table and chairs were lovely, bed was huge and comfy. Huge hot shower. Next time I would love to see what the rooms are like in the main hotel as I love heritage buildings and it looks just beautiful. I did NOT want to leave, can’t wait to come back!!!!

Disappointing. The photos look great but the reality was a let down. It’s like a ghost hotel. No staff and no services. Self check in to our ‘Terrace’ room. We were allocated the end disabled room. It’s very large but there were issues with cleanliness ( well established cobwebs at ceiling, chair and floor level with accompanying live and dead insects) and tiny black insects scurrying around the tea and coffee counter which bore drink stains from prior use. This was an adapted room but presumably to counter poor drainage in the wet room, a piece of wood, now rotting and splintered, had been screwed into the floor between the shower area and the remainder of the wet room. Not sure how a wheelchair user would navigate that. Nowhere to put wash bags etc. A number of Terrace room appeared to be used by groups of workers. No idea if anyone was in the main building. It looked dead.

I stayed at the York as part of a road trip from Perth. The York is no longer a hotel and only provides accommodation. My room was spacious, cleaned and comfortable. The room has coffee and tea making facilities, a fridge and a good sized TV. The room had its own verandah where I could sit and watch the passerbys. ||The hotel is in the centre of York and there are plenty of places to eat and drink within a couple of blocks of the York.

Excellent service and an absolutely beautiful room in a magnificently renovated hotel. I spend most of my time travelling for work and this is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. Will definitely return.

Nola ensured we were taken care of, with direct contact as we were arrivng later than expected. Effortless check in and room just as advertised. Great location, and good amenities.
