The Cheapest Nicest Hotels in Paris

"19th arrondissement With so many Parisian hotels done in fiercely good taste, there’s something refreshing about one with a loose Eighties theme and a colour scheme heavy on hot pink. It starts with the words ‘Forever Young’ on a rug beside the entrance, but goes further. The lyrics from the 1984 hit by German synth band Alphaville are woven into the design of two custom-made wallpapers; and when you pop a cassette into the USB-port-enabled boomboxes – there’s one in every room – the Jay-Z version of the song comes on. Yes, this is that place – where green neon signs above beds implore guests to ‘Scream’, possibly into a retro bedside phone, which is just about doable given that soundproofing foam lines the walls. Thanks to Saar Zafrir Designs, exiting the lift into the hallway feels like stepping into a scene from Star Wars or Pac-Man: ceilings and carpets are covered in a black-and-white-check pattern, while blinding white lights outline room doors. Then there are the artworks, including a Super Mario character made of Lego above a stack of Rubik’s cubes that spell out R-E-M-I-X. Guests who are here to work can access nine hi-tech meeting rooms named Madonna, INXS, Elton, Freddie, Cyndi, Prince, Tina, Blondie and Bowie. Non-residents are invited to use the spaces, too, and communal areas on three floors are often booked for events. Channelling Van Halen’s ‘Hot for Teacher’, there are even old-school lockers in which to leave any work accoutrements or luggage. There are pool and table-football tables, arcade games and a tile-walled restaurant that, slightly incongruously, serves American soul food inspired by Marvin Gaye. In this Remix, almost anything goes. SL Price: Double rooms from around $94 per night Book now with Expedia Book now with Booking.com" - Lauren Burvill

Neighborhoods in Toronto

"Once the hippie hangout of Toronto, Yorkville and the Annex have evolved into elegant neighborhoods, home to high-end shopping and the University of Toronto. Known as a fashion district, Yorkville is where you will find haute couture shops such as Louis Vuitton and Hermès. This neighborhood is perfect for relaxation treatments, with access to spas, including The Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. Despite its chic reputation, with proximity to the University of Toronto, student presence means there are many coffee shops, galleries, and bookstores to peruse besides chic boutiques. Toronto’s favorite bookstore, BMV, is nearby." - MATADOR_NETWORK

The 6 Best Hotels in Toronto (Updated 2025)

"Directly across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum in Yorkville, the Royal Sonesta is a four-star hotel with a heated indoor rooftop swimming pool, a massage studio, a vodka bar boasting over 50 vodka varieties, and an in-house eatery whose menu is inspired by Toronto’s cultural diversity. The rooms have a modern, minimalist design with lots of natural light, a large desk, seating area, Nespresso machine, flatscreen TV, and minibar; the large marble bathrooms have walk-in showers (I found the water pressure a bit low), plush bathrobes and slippers, and there’s a 24/7 fitness center on site." - Matthew Kepnes

We came for the Mariah Carey x Willy Wonka holiday drag brunch and honestly had a great time. The theme was so fun — Sucka Queen was our host and kept the energy high from start to finish. All the queens were amazing, and the whole Willy-Wonka-meets-Christmas vibe made it even better. The food was good and came with pastries and really nice blueberry scones. Drag queens were entertaining, and the servers were super friendly and attentive. We also got bottle service, which was reasonably priced for a brunch event like this. We loved the show, the theme, the performers, and the atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you want a fun drag brunch in Toronto.

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were fresh, clean, and beautifully appointed, which made our visit extremely comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast each morning with generous portions and everthing was absolutely delicious. You can truly tell that the staff cares about their guests, and it makes all the difference. Highly recommend.

The location is fantastic. My room was really nice, well appointed, on the courtyard. This gave me a pretty view, and a lovely bay window, with a window seat. The king size bed was fabulously comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful. I didn't care for the carpeting in the hallways it was kind of ugly which surprised me, and the tiles in the bathroom were not very pretty either. But the bathroom is huge and very comfortable. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays and I had wanted to eat in the hotel Monday night. The restaurant is cute, but unfortunately my meal was a bust. However the manager went out of his way to make everything right. I ended up just having a soup. But there is a waiter working there who's absolutely fantastic and fascinating to talk to. So, all in all a nice place to stay. You cant get a better location. Also, very convenient underground parking , self parking or valet available

This hotel is truly luxurious — you definitely get what you pay for. It was the perfect base for exploring the Yorkville Exotic Car Show on Father’s Day. To save a little, we brought our own breakfast of granola bars and made good use of the in-room Nespresso machine. The concierge was excellent, helping us find family-friendly dinner spots. The pool was a bit too small for us, but the sauna in the exercise area was fantastic. We opted for valet parking instead of self-park — more expensive, but given the stress of Toronto traffic, handing over the keys to the friendly valet was worth the convenience.

Google
Great central location, so close to so many eateries, shopping and ROM. Came in for a conference and was blown away at the catered food. Each and every meal deserved 5 stars. I would definitely come again. Only suggestion is to provide better TP considering how much the room charges are. Surely they can afford better quality

I live in the neighbourhood and my family members normally stay in the area when visiting me and have had excellent experiences all around. I have also stayed here with my cat during apartment renovations and, likewise, had good experiences. I also take swimming lessons here and was happy to find on my last visit that the issues I raised in my review had been fixed - hence the rating change.

We booked for a wedding and location was great! Rooms nice size & bedding was very comfortable. Rooms were also clean.. My negatives would be only 6 seats in the lobby and not welcoming. The bathroom counters were very small and valet takes an exceptionally long time. Hotel pricey for what your getting ? Over 1k for 2 nights with valet. Also garage gate got stuck (valet) and delayed us about 45 min at checkout and honestly the desk gentleman was trying his best but all staff he reached out to for HELP weren't taking any sense of urgency ; so we almost missed our flight? Again convenient location but lobby needs refresher and definitely more seating .For the price it has nothing special to offer.

Yelp
If you get a chance check out the newly renovated royal sonesta in yorkville. It's where the intercontinental was opposite the Rom! The food was incredible and the renovation even better. I'm a stickler when it comes to hotels and this spot was absolutely stunning. We got the suite and it included two rooms and a sizeable common area. It was perfect for an extended stay and a fun staycation downtown. I ordered the scallops and they were divine!! Hope that helps!

Yelp
The hotel was nice but for what you pay it's really not worth it. The internet was so difficult to connect each day it barely worked. Someone came into our room even though we put the do not disturb sign up and took items from our room that we were using. There was no fridge to use. The only good thing is that the room was spacious if that is your main concern.

Yelp
The hotel is nice but I was very disappointed to have my Apple watch stolen from my room. I should not have left it out and visible so I take responsibility for that. I do not expect such poor accountability from hotel staff.

Yelp
This hotel is in a really nice spot across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum. It's very clean around here. This was our first trip to Toronto and I was not expecting such a nice area. Great restaurants around the corner. We also had fantastic weather which helped a lot. The hotel room itself was very quiet, we were on the 4th floor out of eight floors. I like that you could not get into the elevator without a badge so I felt safer. The concierge was helpful. We self parked. Tons of stuff to do and nice areas to walk. I would have liked a refrigerator in the room but for the price we got the room I am okay with that

Yelp
I would like to give score 0 if I could. Me and my friend checked in late night on Nov 27th 2022. We booked an executive suite at this hotel that has 1.5 bathrooms. When we came to use the toilet after checking in,we saw that both toilets were dirty and had URINE on the toilet (on top of the seat and under the seat)!!!!! We called the front desk, and they informed us impolitely the only option they can provide for now is changing the room since they did not have any room service staff. We did not want to change room since we just unpacked our stuff here and it's late night already. So they sent some "night shift" manager to come and clean it for us. He cleaned the toilet seat without even flushing the toilets. And he told us that he will let his supervisor to talk to us tomorrow. However, there was nobody to follow up with us until we went to the front desk and asked for talking to the manager. The director of rooms "Paul" talked to us, and told us that he will send someone to deep clean the room which there is nobody showed up to deep clean the room after. And I questioned him that this is the only thing you want to say to us or you can offer? And this director of rooms asked us what do we want from him? I said that I think you as a director should offer the solution to your customer, not me propose a solution for you. And he offered 30% discount on the night that this thing happened. I was questioning him that if 30% off of the night is the best thing you as a director can do after this disgusting accident, I will take it. And then he said he can give us 50% off. I really don't understand, if he can offer better solution for us without asking any additional approval from higher management team, why he didn't do it at the first place? We have to question him and accuse him for him to solve the problem correctly. He maybe think this is not a big deal and only deserve 30% off for the night? And after I questioned him,he told me that he could have done more for us,but since I talk to him like this,he doesn't want to do it any more. This hotel is really not professional in the way they react to this matter, and they do not think this is a big deal and will ruin the hotel's reputation. It's extremely disgusting and I have never ran into issues like this in a 4-star hotel. By the way, all 4 pillow cases had yellow stains as well. And they told me it's normal.

Yelp
One of the worse hotel stays we have had in Toronto. For a very expensive room, poor service, no amenities in room like shower caps, only one elevator out of three working for days on end AND the Signature restrauant has terrible service, no dinner...bar restaurant for dinner has such a limited menu, you are better off going down the street to Mc Donald's. I regularly stayed here when it was the Intercontinental, but never again
