The Yuluxe Sheshan, Shanghai, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Hotel was easy to get to and room was clean. However, there was a strange odour that was occasionally noticeable in the room, particularly if air-con had been off - slightly fishy/musty like when fabric has not been dried properly. Otherwise room was spacious and bathroom clean. Good amenities, including dressing gown for kids. The outdoor pool areas were great, kids loved it. Staff were helpful but struggled with English at times, but came through with help of translation apps. The breakfast buffet has plenty of options, but lunch/dinner options at the cafe/room service are not as plentiful and despite saying 24 hrs, is only available until 10pm. The Shandy bar, despite having a basic cocktail menu to view, was unable to make anything other than a margarita due to lack of ingredients, which was disappointing. The grounds and surrounds seemed well kept with lots of options for adventurous, older kids. Would not recommend the 'animal ranch' though, we had a quick look in but were then told we'd need to pay 98rmb which seems very overpriced given the place was littered with animal droppings and what we saw was not promising. They have 'pandas' ie painted/dyed dogs in a small enclosure which did not bode well. But overall, for a little getaway with kids who like the pool, this was an easy staycation.

Excellent. Nice escape from the city. The resort has wonderful amenities. Can go for nice evening walks on the trails. Large swimming pool, indoor and outdoor. The rooms are spacious and clean. Surrounding areas include Happy Valley and Maya Playa Water park. Ideal location to easily get around to these. Some rooms could be a bit noisy due to the music from the water park side. But the hotel reception was friendly and agreed to change rooms for us. Overall, great stay.

Family of 4 (kids 4yo and 6yo).Had a very pleasant experience at Yuluxe Hotel. The pool is well maintained. Breakfast buffet offers many Asian and some Western food options. Gets very busy around 9am. The room was spacious and clean, great fit for us with extra bed from hotel. Short walk from Happy Valley and Maya water park.

Pool without any proper seating and no life guards at all. Also no pool refreshments or anything to purchase nearby the pool area. Western restaurant the Shandy is advertised on the Marriott website as being open and having a beautiful bar and outside seating wasn’t open at all which was super disappointing and then get ready to fight for your meal at dinner because to be able to get any meat or wine at the buffet is like the hunger games.

Excellent Stay at Yuluxe for the second time. Ambiance is amazing. They are very generous that they gave a free room upgrade. The rooms are spacious and clean with a view of the garden. The staff are all serving with a sincere and kind smile. Special mention to 陈小康 who treated my niece with hospitality.Will surely recommend to friends and come back again.

Spacious and clean room with balcony. It's an ideal resort hotel for family vacation. Bob gave the guests a warm welcome and was very helpful in recommending places to visit. The hotel being quite remote and distant from public transport, it's better to drive there along the scenic route and go around with your own car. Hotel is close to botanical garden and national parks. The public broadcast is a bit loud at night, but it's quiet when you go to sleep.

The room quite spacious and comfortable. We loved the tub, balcony and views. The hotel is beautiful and has many things to do. The outdoor pool is clean and very inviting. We really enjoyed the hotel and it is a great option for a weekend get away from the big city life. You feel relaxed as you are surrounded by nature and the food is quite nice. There is a lot of variety for all tastes.

This hotel is a Shanghai gem for families and friends staycation. The swimming pool is great and the natural environment is beautiful. The rooms are spaces and well taken care of. Next time I won’t request a room far from the lifts, the hotel is big so you walk far.
