Theatre on The Bay

Loved this place. Really glad I bought tickets to see the Agatha Christie show. Theatre has to be the best and cosiest one I’ve ever watched a show in. Drinks service was superb, with half time pre-orders available. A great way to spend our night in Cape Town.

So enjoy T on the B. Small, intimate. We managed to get last minute tickets to see Joseph. Not brilliant seats I thought but turned out to be fantastic. First row of balcony. Sound was excellent and such a stunning vibe.

Alan Comitee and the cast were absolutely brilliant in Agatha Christie's play, Black Coffee. Definitely a must see!

We took our grown children to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. And is was amazing!

Great small theatre. The show was outstanding. I am always amazed to experiance such incredible young talent at our theatres. The theatre is alive and well in Cape Town. Camps Bay is beautiful so go early to have something to eat and drink nearby. You will also get parking. ENJOY!

This was my first time at Theatre on The Bay and I was extremely impressed. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Patrons are mostly seasoned theatre-goers and respectful of others. Beverages can be pre-ordered for interval and the wines especially are of a very good quality. The show itself (Black Coffee) was outstanding. The experience is topped with the beautiful smell of the sea air upon leaving.

We had reservation to see Joseph on the 1st of July 2025. Although the show was reasonable the restaurant experience was not. It was suggested we prebook our meals which we did. We arrived at 18.00 and were only served with our meal at 19.40 for a show which was to start at 20.00. Not much time to enjoy the meal, even though there was not much to enjoy. . The meal was an experience from hell. Completely, and I mean completely, over priced for what we got, poorly prepared, undercooked and just generally diabolical. My wife and shared a cheese platter for two. Two small piece of burnt toast, quite obviously small off-cut or left over pieces of cheese, mustard for goodness knows what, no preserve (even though advertised) or any indication of butter no matter how large or small, amongst other. The dullest and least appealing (and filling) effort I have ever seen for R280.00. Never again. With another dish the samosas were raw and a pasta dish completely tasteless and so we can go on discussing the chicken. We had to finish the apple crumble desert in the theater. This experience obviously didn't do much for the show, which I found not quite what we were accustomed to by Peter Torrien (My fair Lady). That is the last time (and I will be relating our experience to friends and family) we ever again set foot in the Theater on the Bay.
