I was really looking forward to trying some Swedish Pancakes while I was in Sweden. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any restaurants on Yelp that said they served Swedish pancakes in Stockholm. The only restaurants that came up served American style pancakes.
So, when we got up and were ready to go, we headed to a cafe that came highly recommended. When we got there, 45 minutes after it was supposed to open, it was unfortunately closed. So, we ended up walking around the city, hoping to find another option for a good breakfast. We didn't find anything on our walk, so we jumped on a bus and looked around. We went by a place that looked like it had potential, so we stopped the bus and got off.
We walked into Thelins Konditori and saw an amazing assortment of baked goods and sweets! I looked up on the menu board and was extremely excited to see Pannkaka!
I ordered up a glass of hot chocolate and some pannkakor.
Thelins is a very nice Konditori with a good atmosphere. It is clean and the employees are helpful. The restrooms are extremely dimly lit.
The woman behind the counter gave us some small glasses of hot chocolate with whipped cream. The chocolate definitely was not hot... lukewarm at best. The whipped cream was great and the flavor was really good too. I would rank Thelins 9th place in my hot chocolate tour of Europe.
The pancakes were excellent! There were 3 pancakes folded up in triangles and served with a cup of whipped cream and a cup of strawberries to top them off.
The flavor and texture of the pancakes were great and I was very happy to finally have some Swedish pancakes.
Thelins is extremely expensive, but that is pretty much a common theme in all of the restaurants and cafes in Stockholm.
