Dr. John, aka, The Stretch Doc, just finished coaching me to my first figure competition. A chiropractor by trade, Dr. John also specializes in Fascia Stretch Therapy and his client roster includes UFC Frank Mir, Bellator King Mo Lawal, UFC Dan Hardy, and Badwater 2013 Women's Champion Catherine Todd. Over the course of 12 weeks with his guidance, I lost 17 pounds and 11% body fat. Was it easy? Heck, no. He would be the first person to tell you that 12 weeks is not a good idea to do what I did, but I was on a deadline, so it was totally my choice; I always have to do things the hard way. I embarked on a plan of clean eating and gym sessions, often twice a day, that was unlike training for a triathlon or marathon. Chicken breast, oatmeal, egg whites, whey protein, and supplements were staples. Good-bye to sugar, except for once when the b/f and I went to a halo-halo UYE with our Yelp friends. Oh, and one time I was making cookies for friends and I had some dough. And, a cookie. Or two. But, other than that, it was a challenge. I'm sharing this info with you because I know not everyone wants to be a bodybuilder or lose weight so drastically in a short amount of time. But, there are people out there who need guidance and want to change, but don't know how. If you are looking for a coach who will help you lose body fat, learn how to eat cleaner, and start you on the road to a healthier lifestyle, then Dr. John is your man. But, if you want to do a figure competition, he can help you do that, too. Give yourself 20 weeks, though. He gave me workout plans that changed every week as well as nutritional guidance. I've learned so much about food since July and my Yelping habits have changed because of it, in a good way.
