Absolutely great place to go for bike rides so many different trails. Great kids areas for them to play.

Our children had visited for Go Ape but this was our first time on the Halloween trail. As a local resident, we were thrilled to have an event that was close by. The trail was the perfect amount of spooky/scary AND interesting. It also appeared to be very wheelchair accessible. My only gripe would be lack of direction from parking to the trail entry. There were so many people wandering aimlessly around.

This place is great fun for everyone young or seasoned. It is home to Go Ape. There are adventures for everyone to include High ropes courses, Forest Segways, Nets Adventures, Zip Trek Adventure. This park is pet and kid friendly with picnic areas and play areas. This is my second time going. It was great. There is a cafe to eat in and clean restrooms. There are many bike trails and beautiful forests to walk through.

Thetford Forest – Nature at Its Best! 🌲 Thetford Forest is an absolute gem — peaceful, vast, and full of life. Whether you’re walking, cycling, or just relaxing under the trees, it’s the perfect place to escape and recharge. The mix of pine and broadleaf woodland makes every trail feel a little different, and the air just feels fresher here. There are miles of well-marked paths, great picnic spots, and even adventure areas for kids. We loved wandering off the main trails and finding quiet clearings — Caesar was in his element, nose to the ground, tail wagging the whole time! 🐾 The visitor centre is well set up with maps, clean facilities, and a nice café for a post-walk coffee or snack. If you’re into photography, the light through the trees is stunning in the early morning or late afternoon. A brilliant day out for families, walkers, and anyone who loves the outdoors. Thetford Forest never disappoints — 5 stars all the way! 🌳✨

Great forest for family fun! Many different things to do and enjoy all day Lots of different play structures spread out threw the forest, bike riding trails, hiking/ walking trails, Go Ape activities, picnic areas, and open fields, tons of parking, bathrooms available, cafe shop for cup of coffee or hot meal. Plenty to choose from

We often come here from Norwich for a day out as there is so much to do. First, there are some lovely walks in this beautiful, mostly pine forest. With our small children we tend to take the route that includes all the fantastic wooden play sculptures. This means every few hundred yards or so you come across a wooden rabbit, bird, squirrel and so on designed to be explored with slides, fireman poles, ladders etc This keeps them going all the way round and they have a lot of fun. There are also some fantastic cycle routes available, different trails according to the level of difficulty. If you are a seasoned mountain biker you may wish to bring your own bike, on the other hand if you just want to have a taste of what it is like there are bikes available for hire by the hour or longer. We hired some once with a kids trailer fixed to the back of the bike and our girls loved it! There is a lovely open grassy area near the High Lodge Visitor Centre where you can play your own ball games too. We have been with a large party before and had a great day here using that area, hiring the barbecues to cook our lunch on and exploring the adjacent adventure play area. The centre itself has a gift shop and largish restaurant if you don't feel like bringing a picnic. There is a small charge of £6 to enter Thetford Forest if you park at High Lodge. Well worth it when you consider a family can have a brilliant day out for that amount!

If the weather is half decent and you have a day to spare then Thetford Forest is well worth a visit. You can park at High Lodge, I think its approx £5 , but my top tip would be to park for free at nearby Brandon Country park and walk or cycle through. Its on the green and blue cycle routes anyway. Brandon has toilets icecreams and a few play equipment pieces though not as grand as High Lodge. You can hire bikes , walk the routes , the kids love the zip slide and clever play equipment. If you don't bring a picnic the cafe at Thetford is reasonably priced . Well worth a visit!

I am into mountain biking and there are not that many great locations near cambridge so i frequently travel out to thetford to go for a ride. They have different routes available for different levels of bikers. I go on the black route which is the hardest, it consists of mainly small tracks that run between the trees, so be careful if you are prone to falling off! They have several large bomb holes to play in and the track is about 10 miles. If you are going to visit then try popping into the cafe for a drink. Parking is expensive if all you want to do is bomb around the tracks - i park at the little sections located off the road.
