I just want to say that YADA recently reached out to me, and I had the pleasure of speaking to the Chief Operating Officer. He was very empathetic to our experience and acknowledged our concerns (a huge contrast to the experience we had previously). It sounds like YADA has made a lot of positive changes, as any institution working with children should continuously be doing. I wish the best for any family looking to join this community.

Just a wonderful in every way if you love theater and are young. I am a parent as you've probably guessed but I'll leave a longer review later but don't even think about another place. Not that's it's the reason but even the networking for your child if that's something he or she cares about (it is Holly) is amazing and everyone from then staff to the parent to of course the kiddos. THEY HAVE MASTERED, splitting people up. It is in fast, as it should be a meritocracy. As your skills ascend, so will your roles. That said, they do manage to get everyone a something to focus on. I love this place and wish I could go back in time but instead will live vicariously will do it for me and believe me, she wants to! Thank you YADA. You have brought joy to our whole family and while that sounds over the top, it's not even near it. Greatest thing we've got Alexandra maybe since she was born. Her music, dance, gymnastics, karate and everything she did was ingredients for her musical theater gumbo and they are cooking it up real good at YADA!

Worst customer service ever. Everyone sounds like they hate working at this place when you call to ask questions.

What an amazing and innovative and important program for young artistic explorers. We have worked with YADA for many years and in many productions and at all different levels. One consistent fact is present: the love of the theatrical arts is gifted to our children with a sense of wonder, depth, and pure joy for the love of performance. The high quality and attention to detail from the costumes, to the professional sound, and lighting and set pieces can all easily be undervalued by anyone who has never produced a live play. I have seen many adult black box productions that don't come close to the production quality that is expertly provided for these young artists, giving families and young performers a remarkable theatrical experience. I love to turn around from the front row during the performances to see the giddy, smiling faces of parents as they witness their young child performing fearlessly in a beautifully tailored production. If your child has any inclination for performing, I cannot recommend enough how much you should consider YADA as an incredible introductory experience into the performing arts. I look forward to many more years in sending our children to YADA and watching them explore their talents and deepen their love of the theatre.

Oh my goodness! I seriously couldn't be more disappointed in a theatre company...if that's what you want to call YADA. After doing two "productions" with them it has become clear their only goal is turn around. They have no intention of actually putting together a good production or teaching any theatre skills. The first one we did was the Sound of Music. I mean I hate to say it but it was a HOT MESS and painful to watch Most the kids didn't know their lines or cues which ruined it for the kids who did. The stage direction was awkward and it was clear they never even taught the basic tenants of theatre (never turn your back to the audience, project, don't stand in front of another actor, etc). When I asked my daughter what they did for the 3 hour weekly classes, she said when it wasn't her scene she was just sitting on the side coloring with her friends ‍ I'm not paying thousands of dollars for my daughter to color on the sidelines. When it's not her scene they should have dedicated teachers working on singing, theatre games and basics of staging with the other kids. I mean for the price they charge they should have multiple teachers on hand. The second production of Mary Poppins was only slightly better but that was because more kids knew their lines. But still was clear that staging and acting skills was not taught at all. The Large numbers were all cluttered and unorganized. In addition it's hard to under their casting. It literally has nothing to do with talent. Some of the kids in main roles can't even hold a tune or sing on tempo. Other main characters were mumbling and were hard to understand and so many of the main roles didn't know their cues or lines. The only assumption I was able to make was that they must be giving bigger roles based on how many years the kids have been in their production. Because it definitely had nothing to do with talent. It was also super awkward. You saw taller kids playing the younger siblings and smaller kids playing their parents. If it were based of talent then you would understand it, but it wasn't and it made the scenes confusing and awkward to watch. Seriously save your money and find another company that actually cares about teaching theatre and not just about how many shows they can cycle you through. They are also unresponsive when you call and you don't actually know who's in charge. The biggest waste of 2 seasons and thousands of dollars.

This was my first time at this theater, so I'm not able to make comparisons since their renovations. However, you could tell straight-away that they made some nice improvements that go beyond what you would expect from a 99-seat theater. There was updated decor and organized, semi-permanent seating -- which was comfortable and not too crowded, depending on what row you're in (the lower/closer rows seem to have more leg room). The bathrooms are small and cramped, which they probably couldn't do anything about, so be the first one if you have to go. Valet parking for $5 was convenient. They also offered a small selection of candies and beverages ($2) at intermission, including Charles Shaw wine (for a donation of only $3). Also, be aware this theater is on the second floor and it appears the only access requires the use of some steep stairs. I didn't see an elevator, but it doesn't mean they don't have one.

My daughter has been attending YADA for four years now and does 2 to 3 productions per year. Attending classes is the highlight of her week and never dares miss one. Not only does she learn to act, sing and dance from the best but how to work in a collaborative group environment where all are meant to shine. YADA has definitely had a positive impact in her life.

I'm a student at yada. I found my voice here. LOVE IT .I have learned so much here it's really a great place for young devoping actors and actress . It's a place your kid can call home and grow in the acting program Great place. Yada has wonderful teachers. They are funny sweet and supportive . they help you if you need help. And there are very talented kids, for example the girl who played little red in the movie came to yada. She is very talented. I hipe one day your kids will explore the world of yada

My kid loves it! She is in Drama class and cant wait when she gonna go again! they sending picts and videos every time she`s there! Thank you for your great job! Highly recommend!!

We absolutely love YADA. The other day my son said that it's his favorite enrichment class. He runs to the theater to practice his lines and wants me to put on his music Dvd every time we are in the car. The performances that the theater puts together after each session are so elaborate and are so good for the kids overall development.

My daughter Lisa absolutely loved this class! The teachers all understand children, the are patient, fun and engaging. She loved learning how to trust her voice and it has helped her be less nervous at auditions! Looking forward to the summer camps!

this is only a review for the production The Full Monty that I saw last night. I've been to some pretty shitty community/small theatres with bad acting and smelly stages, so I was really skeptical about the show. But, I ended up having such a great time!! The cast last night was phenomenal: great acting, wonderful voices. The sound system was excellent, loud and clear, but you could still hear the lyrics to each song. I loved how I felt like it was a Broadway show, but I was close enough to see the actors faces (there's only about 4-5 rows) there's a small concession stand with snacks, drinks and wine $2-3. there's plenty of restaurants nearby so make an evening out of it. check out Olio across Crescent Heights for pizza.

Nice small theater/acting school. Reasonably priced and necessary valet parking behind. School is expensive for classes (I've seen the bills for class). Theater is on the second floor and it's nice. I've been here a couple of times for plays by my friend's children. It is clean and the staff is nice. I've wondered, if the parent's are paying for acting classes here, and the play is the culmination of the class, why do they charge $10 for tickets? Having 15 guests to watch play costs another $150.00 just to see the culmination of the class. That seems like a cheesy money grab to me. Shouldn't the play be free after paying tuition for acting classes?

A friend and I went to see "The Full Monty" Friday night and I haven't laughed so hard in a really, REALLY long time. What a treat!! The cast was, well, perfectly cast...expressive, great voices, seamless production and good chemistry between them. And did I mention funny?? Tears were streaming down my face more than once. My hat's off to the entire crew (albeit not covering my private parts as theirs did)...I hope to be back and hope every production is as witty and well put together as this. Kudos and thanks for a great memory!

I have only wonderful things to say about YADA. This is a place that was built on love & with a passion for helping kids be their most creative confident selves. It is a fantastic place for any child from toddler to young teen where they can learn about musical theater, cooperation, creative expression and in having an extended family. The team here is amazing! They make the most wonderful sets and their teaching is top notch. Ive yet to see one child who hasn't blossomed under their gentle but inspiring wing. We love YADA and they have been like a second family to my now 9 year old for the past four years. Thank you Yada.

My son Aidan went through the improv class and he loved it. (And so did I!) The teachers did a great job making the kids feel comfortable and getting the best out of them. I was amazed at the showcase they put on at the end of the class--the kids were confident and funny. They made tremendous progress over the course of a couple months. I highly recommend it.

My kid has gone to two, 10-week sessions at YADA and I think it is fantastic. The classes are a few hours a week and she has gained great experience and made nice friends. This is a high quality theater that has excellent, professional teachers who teach children far more than what they advertise. It's honestly been a pleasure to see my daughter enjoy herself so much. It starts with the teachers, their qualifications and their happiness at their job. The staff is what makes it amazing - the plays that they are able to put on after 10 weeks is impressive. Thank you to Ryan, Lisa, Dan and Scott, you guys are only a few who make YADA so special!
