"Thomas Beach, located in the south of Bali not far from Uluwatu, is a long, sprawling, white-sand beach flanked by willowy palm trees. It's managed to keep itself a well-guarded secret, drawing only the most curious travelers. The steps down to the beach put some visitors off—those who do manage them will find all the more space to spread out and sip on fresh coconut water from one of the vendors." - Travis Levius

"Start us off big-picture. What's this beach like? Thomas Beach, located in the south of Bali not far from Uluwatu, is a long, sprawling, white-sand beach flanked by willowy palm trees. It has managed to keep itself a well-guarded secret, drawing only the most curious travelers. So how do we get there? Getting to Thomas Beach requires some effort. Head to Suka Espresso and follow the dirt track opposite the cafe, which takes you to a small car park. From here it's 175 steps down a coastal path to reach the beach. Can we rent equipment on site, or should we be sure to bring supplies? There are beach loungers and umbrellas for rent, although you'll need to bring your own towel. For food, there are a few warungs serving snacks and drinks. How's the beach itself—the waves and the sand? Thomas Beach is simply stunning. The turquoise water is calm enough for swimming, which isn't always the case in Bali, where the sea can be rough. And the creamy sand is soft enough to lie or stroll on. Can we go barefoot? You can of course go barefoot, but the sand gets hot. There's lots of room to spread out—bring a towel or rent a lounger and umbrella. Anything special we should look for? Sip on fresh coconut water from one of the vendors. So why would you recommend this beach in particular? This beach is great for people who want a stunning swimming spot with beautiful scenery and not too many crowds. The steps down to the beach put some visitors off—those who do manage them will find all the more space to spread out." - Anna Chittenden

Thomas Beach was a nice, quiet spot compared to the more crowded ones nearby. You have to walk down a set of steps to reach it. We paid 100,000 IDR for two sunbeds. The beach isn’t fancy, there are quite a few stones in the sand so make sure you walk in your flip flops. The waves are strong, so it’s a place also popular with surfers. Overall, a calmer and more secluded place to relax.

An-ok “hidden” beach, no sign post yet, and the waves aren’t too crazy. Came after lunchtime, not too crowded but looks like it’s starting to gain popularity. Parking available for motorbikes and the walk down is quite easy. Plenty of sunbeds for rent. Unfortunately trash and seaweed were everywhere. But overall quite a nice beach to swim, tan, nap, read and chill.

Motorbikes can enter through narrow alleys, and you get free "parking lot" 😄. Cars should park around the street. The stairs is about 150 meters from the street. Beautiful reefs and views. Sunbathing are very welcome. A relatively quiet place compared to other beaches. After downstairs, go to right (walk on sands, don't walk on mossy rocks). Walk until you see big rock, walk through shallow water, and you will find another secret photo spot. Don't forget to bring a pairs of GOOD sandals, some points are SLIPPERY, watch out for FLAT rocks when you walking, walk slowly and carefully, don't run..! I got hit down once there. 😩 And theres some points that you can observe animal beach life, like Bikini Bottom on Spongebob. There is a lot sea snail, like Gary, that you can play with them. It's locate around big rocks. After play, please don't bring them home with you. Keep them there, it's their home. Perfect time to visit around 4:30 p.m until 6:30 p.m and not on holiday season. March ~ November.

The beach is quite rocky by the sea (the bit we were at anyway). Despite this, it was not that crowded and a nice place to relax. Lots of small stands to buy drinks & snacks.

Must visit place for every Tomas here 🙌😄 quite nice beach with few local warungs and little shops. It’s realy not a tourist area so you can enjoy calm sea with few people around. There is short way with few steps from parking on top of the cliff. Be sure to go to the end of the beach to see awesome rock formations and take a bath in rock pools there 🤩

Can't really dislike this area since we had a chill hour drinking a beer on a rainy day. Everything seemed to be closed beside the one place we walked past. Didn't have a name you can find on Google? They also do surf lessons? Either way we had a drink and chilled at their shop. I'd go back on a nicer day.

Quit and beautiful beach. Full of garbage! They don't clean the beach, but instead bury all the trash, including plastic, in the sand 😳100000 for 2 sunbeds. Don’t get water at the shop before the steps. Way too expensive.

Nice calm beach for chilling. Don’t get fooled into surfing, the waves are almost nonexistent. Clean, chill, beautiful views.
