Excellent place especially for solo travellers. The service is excellent as well, especially the staff at breakfast. They made my day by opening breakfast little earlier on my departure day for me because I had an early flight so I could still have breakfast in a relax way. Also the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Middle in Oslo centre, only 3 minute walk to central station. Price quality range is perfect too. I would have no doubt to come back here again!

First touch points of customer service was very nice and accommodating to my needs, so that’s a huge plus! Breakfast was great with plenty options and gluten free. I had to deduct a few stars in total for the bad hygiene of the bed and the handling of the situation. It’s been a long time I’ve had such a bad hygiene experience of the bed linen, where I found small and long hair everywhere on the bed and under the duvet, and it was very dusty. I stay in a lot of hotels as I’m a frequent traveler, and never been experiencing this not even in a 2-star hotel. When I discovered this coming home in the evening I called and asked immediately if they could change it. I also showed some photos, and also took video clips. Since they claimed they only had one person working at the reception it was difficult for them to come change it, unless I was fine to watch them do it. I said that’s fine I will be out shortly anyways. In the end I had to get the bed linen and change it myself because they didn’t have time, although at that point when I was getting the bed linen, another employee was there so I got a bit confused to why they said they were working alone and couldn’t change… As Norwegians are, we are always polite and friendly though I have to say service could have been better in this situation. I ended up sleeping on the new bed linen as is, loosely put on the bed and was too disgusted and tired to do the change myself at midnight. Didn’t even use the pillow or duvet.

We choose this hotel due to its price and location. The hotel is walking distance from Oslo Centre Station. It is in the middle of the city. Surrounding by restaurants and malls. We stayed at family room. The room is spacious but toilet a little bit small. The breakfast is great with varieties of choices. Fresh and delicious. Love the friendly staffs. You need to walk up to the cafe for breakfast. Front desk staffs are friendly. We had a smooth check in. Overall I had a good stay here.

We were pleasantly surprised. We didn't have a lot of booking options because of a big conference in Oslo and hotels were either booked or would only do a 3-night or more booking. We needed two nights and the Astoria was in a great location for us, really close to the train station. But we thought it would be too bare-bones. It wasn't! It was clean, comfortable, quiet and we slept well and really enjoyed their generous and varied breakfast buffet. The staff was courteous and professional and the location was right in the middle of the city.

I had a double room on the top floor and loved it! The location of the hotel is extremely convenient (close to train station and multiple bus stations, aka super easy to get around), and there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Clean and simple accomodation perfector someone who won't spend much time in the room, also the included breakfast was delicious

Thon Hotel Astoria is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the main transport hub, making it an ideal base for exploring Oslo. With the 48-hour Oslo Pass, we had unlimited access to public transport and were able to visit all the major attractions with ease.||Our twin room [420] was spacious and comfortable, offering everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast selection was excellent, and we especially enjoyed the friendly service from Murat, who always greeted us with a smile and happily brought tea or coffee to our table.||A nice touch was the heated bathroom floor, which added to the comfort. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient — we really appreciated that our room was ready when we arrived around noon.||The hotel also managed the Porter Service for us, ensuring our luggage was sent ahead as we embarked on the 12-hour Norway in a Nutshell tour.||We even got a breakfast pack [on request] as we checked out at 7.30am. There were coffee making facilities and a choice of pastry to munch on while you wait to check in.

Excellent quality/price ration. Exceptional breakfast and friendly staff. The room is basic but comfortable : if you're out all day, you just need a quiet room and comfortable bed, which I had.

This hotel is perfectly located in central Oslo — ideal for business travelers. While the room was on the smaller side, it was well-equipped and very comfortable. The facilities were excellent, but what truly stood out was the breakfast — absolutely fantastic, with a wide variety and great quality. Highly recommended, especially for solo business trips. I’ll definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Location was convenient to train station and city center. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Rooms are very small especially for two people. The construction outside the building doesn't help the curb appeal, but the construction was mentioned at the time of booking. I would most likely stay elsewhere should I return to Oslo.

Yelp
Great location, fantastic breakfast (almost like a brunch), friendly and helpful staff. Yes, the room/space may be small since it's in the city center, but it's close to everything, the central train station, the opera/ballet/Munch, the harbor, the Fortress, the city hall, the Christmas market :) and lots of restaurants and shops.

Yelp
This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, no frills, kind of basic, however, a nice budget hotel with a great location. Location-wise it can't be beat. It's a super easy/short walk from Oslo Central Station (so super easy to get to from the airport) and literally right off Karl Johans Gate--the main thoroughfare in Oslo for shopping, dining, etc. It's a three minute walk to Oslo Cathedral and a short walk to Akershus Slot and the Opera House. There is a pretty awesome breakfast buffet every morning which filled us up for the day. It actually spoiled us for the rest of our trip, because we got so used to eating their breakfast buffet. Honestly, the only thing that was difficult was the notoriously tiny Norwegian bathroom. If you shower, the whole place gets wet, including the toilet. I think you could brush your teeth over the sink while sitting on the toilet at the same time. It took some getting used to, but you'll manage somehow!

Yelp
Hotel looks good at the lobby and picture only. --There are two staircase you may have to take to get to your room. There's also a wooden rim on the floor to the entrance of the room, which makes it inconvenient for luggages -This place is More like a motel to me. Disappointed because we paid $180 to stay here. - Rooms look very old and dirty -Bed is very old, and springs are too soft, may not be good for the back. -Baseboards of the bed are not aligned which hit my leg when walking by it. -The water kettle has leftover water in it, which makes me think they have not cleaned the place thoroughly after the last guest. I needed up getting water from the machine in the lobby. -The bathroom shower swamps and water leaked out though the door to the bathroom floor. Location is convenient, -but it can be a bit scary to walk at night. Strip club and homeless around the area, makes one feel unsafe. - hotel staff are not very courteous. I don't know if this is the norm with Oslo hotels, but extremely not recommended. The breakfast in this hotel is very good, has lots of varieties.

Yelp
This is the cheapest hotel that i can find for one person and is cheaper than most airbnb. The location of this hotel is probably tops amongst airbnbs. 5mins walk from oslo central station, and is in the heart of shopping district and most beautiful church in oslo, and with cafe cathedral next door. I highly recommend booking with them if you're visiting Oslo.

Yelp
This hotel is pretty well tucked away, even though it is about a 3-5min walk from Oslo's Central train Station (Oslo S). It is also only a block or so off Karl Johann Gate, which is a great place to be to see nightlife and hookers during the week. As far as budget hotels go, it is basic. The rooms are small, even by European standards, and the beds are just tiny. However, the rooms are very clean and the hotel does do its best to take care of you. I haven't had American hoteliers so willing to help me scan documents, which was nice. Not to mention the ladies on staff are beautiful. Besides location, the best park about the Thon Astoria is the amazing breakfast. Tons of items on the complimentary buffet, enough that you can avoid paying enormous sums for lunch later in the day.

Yelp
I was here during construction so the floors were a little disheveled and some rooms in my party were better then others. Its a typical budget hotel and super centrally located to all the downtown shopping and restaurants and of course the train station. I probably wouldn't stay there again except the breakfast buffet won me over! The variety of Norwegian and typical American food was great! I had eggs and salmon on homemade bread one morning, brunost/brown cheese another and everyday I filled up on the chicken meatballs- i couldn't get enough! The service was friendly too. Go for the breakfast and just sleep there at night!

Yelp
Wi-fi connection is horrible, light bulbs are out, maid service ends at 5pm and no A/C, but centrally located. Probably will not stay here again. It has been a week since we stayed, and I'm adding one more star, for a total of two stars, just beacuse the breakfast was great!
