Thon Hotel Halden

Coming to a hotel with this location in such a beautiful area is balm for the soul.||With a short distance to both parking, the city, the pier right outside and lots of lovely places to eat within minutes walking distance of the hotel.||The breakfast was not lavish but the selection that was there was exceptionally good. The hot varieties seemed like they were followed up closely and the eggs were perfect ;) ||Good beds in the room with a spacious and good bathroom and overall a good base for a few days in Halden.

Thon hotel Halden is a nice hotel in the city center and almost on the quay and just by the main city square and railway station. The rooms are nice with excellent beds for sleeping comfort. Lots of good restaurants within short walking distance. The hotel breakfast serves a good variance of food, both varm and cold with the home made ginger shot as one of the specialities. Spectacular location almost on the inner, small harbour where smaller yachts come and go.

The hotel is clean, with perfect location and breathtaking view. The breakfast is rich and tasty. The service is excellent. The coffee is delicious and served 24/7 for free.

A somewhat older hotel but still with a good amount of charm.||The check in went easily, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The only thing was that the parking did not pick up our plate so we had to manually sort it at the hotel, not that that is the hotel's fault.||The room was slightly small perhaps but not extremely so. Spacious enough and the bathroom was as well. ||The hotel seemed clean and a little more rustic than the average.||The breakfast was a bit more limited than I'm used to, but there were at least enough sitting places. And a coffee machine you could use whenever you wanted in the lobby.||A totally fine stay in the city, and centrally located within walking distance to most everything you'd want.

Very nice hotel with very friendly stuff, the room was comfortable (missing Chromecast) and breakfast was very fine.

We were here last May 30, 2025. I love the view, breakfast, and the room since it is spacious and clean.

First time in my life out of my boring Germany first time in my life in a plane and first time in my life in a Hotel. And everything was so amazing Service Room Breakfast and so nice and friendly Personality. And the 🍒 of the cake 🍰 was I meet my Norwegian Idol and most famous Singer Andreas Haukeland (TIX) he sleeps in the same Hotel. More luck is impossible.||Halden is a small nice town 90 minutes with Train to Oslo or maybe you can drive to Gothenburg Sweden. So quite and peaceful you can walk hours at the Fjord for sure I come back again.

I visited the hotel during a business trip. It is nice and cosy. The staff is helpful and kind. It is very well located. Very near the train station and to the city centre as I understand.
