(Lower) mid-range hotel in the heart of the city, very close to the bus terminal, the central station, the Spectrum music-hall and the opera. Subway- and tram stops are also very close. The area is characterized by a high proportion of Arab and African immigrants. Homeless people gather around the corner of Torggata. 3 Bars are located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel which makes for a lot of noise on summer nights. The hotel is beautifully decorated and provides a good service. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Standard rooms are also beautifully furnished, but are very small. Serious disadvantages are the smallest bathroom I have ever experienced (even smaller than in a ships cabin) , a non functioning air condition and an allocation of a room with almost no daylight, even though I had requested a bright room. However a big plus is the breakfast, which leaves nothing to be desired. The only unfortunate (and quite unususal) thing is that the access to the breakfast buffet is closed at 10 am sharp. |In summary the hotel can be recommended for a short stay being aware of the disadvantages and being aware, that at the time being the hotel is completely scaffolded due to renovation of the exterior facade.

The surrounding area is a bit ‘so-so,’ and I could imagine feeling slightly uncomfortable late at night. However, the hotel is very close to the train station, which explains the neighborhood and makes it a perfect starting point for exploring Oslo. The Opera House is just a 10–15-minute walk away. Our room was beautiful and included a bathtub. Despite prior warnings, we didn’t hear any of the construction noise (we stayed one night from Saturday to Sunday). The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Our second stay at the hotel. On this occasion we did not pay for the upgraded business room but wish we had. The room we had this time was facing the main street and was noisy due to the loud music from the bar next door (which closes at 3.30 am). We had to have the windows open as the room did not have air conditioning. The staff are super friendly, especially those working in the sumptuous buffet breakfast that is included in the price. We’ll return again next year, but will choose our room wisely 😉

PRO: central location, easy access to trams, trains and bus; great breakfast; attentive personnel; iron and refrigerator in room CONS: Very noisy at night until 2am because of the bars on the street and drunk people walking by. No wonder they had packs of free earplugs in the bathroom. The hotel should consider using noise-proof windows for the rooms facing the street/bars. Bathrooms were tiny even by Norwegian hotel standards.

We made a mistake when making our booking and we were delighted to have Maria at the reception take care of us. She turned a complicated situation into a hassle free experience while maintaining a positive attitude. Something im sure most of us would struggle to accomplish. As far as the hotel experience it was a nice standard hotel with good breakfast. We Will be back.

This hotel is very clean, welcoming it has a wonderful breakfast. The rooms have everything you would need for an overnight or short stay however they are small, and there is no view they were fine for one but could be cramped for two they offer hanging space ,tea coffee making facilities and iron and ironing board hot water and a comfortable bed plus a workstation/dressing table which is really helpful to sit and do make up. However, it’s over a very noisy bar despite giving earplugs if you’re a light sleeper be warned! They have very good facilities for the disabled and I was in a handicap room, however there was still a step to the bathroom and shower. The upside was that there is disabled toilets readily available.|The breakfast is fantastic. There’s a wide selection if your vegetarian vegan or not they have gluten-free bread and plant based milk available which is a wonderful bonus..|The lobby and the hall has very eclectic and interesting decoration that I quite enjoyed|It is near many central eating places and you can easily walk round or get the tram to everything you want to see in the city.|For a three star hotel, it takes all the boxes and more, but don’t expect more than five hours sleep because in the morning the streets are busy again!|The bed had a comfortable mattress topper, but the rooms were slightly chilly even in the middle of summer cake thicker night clothes then you would need in other places,|All the stuff I met were warm, helpful and efficient so you really can’t ask for anything more!

The hotel provided high quality and variety of food for breakfast. The sitting rooms are spacious. The service staffs at the breakfast are friendly and welcoming. In addition, there were coffee, tea, fruits and cookies at the reception for guests to take throughout the day.

This hotel is in the heart of it all. Really convenient. Great room and polite staff. The breakfast is a level up from most other hotels in Oslo and claims a Micheline star. A could agree...

Yelp
Rooms are comfortable, but the AC is broken and it's warm. The breakfast is really quite nice. Best part of the hotel. The public spaces are dirty, and the desk staff is pure Motel 6. The neighborhood is conveniently near OSLO-S and the T, but it's a bit tougher neighborhood, with the 7-11 across from it, than other Thon hotels in the area. I'd try the Opera rather than this next time.

Yelp
The hotel might be on one of the sketchiest streets, but the location is close to the central station and Oslo Specktum. The layout is akin to a university dormitory with long corridors and plain hotel doors lining either side. However the rooms are clean and the bathroom floor heated, a godsend when you need to get up in the middle of the night to empty your bladder. The buffet breakfast spread was generous and perfect for loading up before spending the rest of the day exploring the city.
