Thornbank House

Went for our honeymoon, was absolutely amazing! 😍 The hospitality, the view, breakfast, the pool. Everything was just absolutely amazing and it's also just a short walk from the beach. Had such a pleasant stay, I felt so bad I didn't get to leave a little gift for the owner but definitely will in the future, she's so nice. Definitely will be back as soon as the opportunity presents itself! 😊❤️

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Thornbank House Stranraer. We stayed for six nights in a room with a fantastic view across Loch Ryan and the surrounding area. The hotel is spotlessly clean with all areas well provisioned, nicely decorated, and comfortable |Our room was very spacious with an ensuit bathroom and a large shower. All linen and towells were high quality, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet area with minimum noise apart from bird song, so we slept very well. There is all the amenities you would require in the room, fridge, TV , kettle , tea coffee etc , hair dryer , bath robes.Secure parking at the hotel is also great.We had our little dog with us and there is easy access to the beach front and the large garden secure garden to the front of the property. Breakfast provided a wide selection from cereal to cooked selection, which was excellent! The host Fiona was always available, and nothing was too much trouble. She even packed a picnic for my dogs journey home. We would definitely stay here again and feel it is value for money given the location, facilities of an indoor pool and spa bath, and the all-around quality provided. A great break in a great place what more can you ask for. ||

We just had an overnight stay at Thornbank Guest House (B&B) over the weekend. It was fantastic, there are three great guest rooms each with their own attraction such as great views and balconies. Thornbank is dog friendly which was good for us but having access to the large pool and jacuzzi etc was awesome, thanks Fiona.

Impeccable. Thus is more than a guest house. Everything is top quality - decor, facilities, food and drink. Has a lovely swimming pool and gym equipment but sadly ferry time did nit allow me to make use. I was departing early and was given a packed lunch instead of breakfast, which was delicious. Friendly owner who didn’t mind my turning up late due to traffic.

I am so reluctant to leave a 5* review as I may not get availability for when I next need to visit. |Fiona and Jim are fantastic. The house is spotless, rooms are serviced every day, breakfast is 5* and it really was a luxury stay.|Nothing was too much trouble and our dogs were welcomed like members of the family. |All rooms have loch/sea view so no room is better than the next. |We cannot wait to return

Great B&B close to Stranraer. Lovely clean room, great views and excellent breakfast. An ideal stop if touring the area or catching the ferry from Caernryan.

Fiona was on point of everything we needed. .absolutely brilliant host. Brilliant Breakfast, absolutely amazing. Views out of our window were stunning. Absolutely spotless accommodation. What a lovely couple. What a lovely time had . Highly recommend this place.
